The value of position is in the range 0..65535, and will be converted to a negative number when the position is greater than 32767 and causes a corruption and crash. Changing the definition to 'unsigned short' fixes this issue Signed-off-by: Jayachandran C <jchandra@broadcom.com> Signed-off-by: Kamlakant Patel <kamlakant.patel@broadcom.com> Cc: <stable@vger.kernel.org> Signed-off-by: Brian Norris <computersforpeace@gmail.com>

* Very simple lz77-ish encoder.
*
* Theory of operation: Both encoder and decoder have a list of "last
* occurrences" for every possible source-value; after sending the
* first source-byte, the second byte indicated the "run" length of
* matches
*
* The algorithm is intended to only send "whole bytes", no bit-messing.
