In xchk_da_btree_block_check_sibling(), there is an if statement on line 274 to check whether ds->state->altpath.blk[level].bp is NULL: if (ds->state->altpath.blk[level].bp) When ds->state->altpath.blk[level].bp is NULL, it is used on line 281: xfs_trans_brelse(..., ds->state->altpath.blk[level].bp); struct xfs_buf_log_item *bip = bp->b_log_item; ASSERT(bp->b_transp == tp); Thus, possible null-pointer dereferences may occur. To fix these bugs, ds->state->altpath.blk[level].bp is checked before being used. These bugs are found by a static analysis tool STCheck written by us. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
