amdgpu's ->runtime_suspend hook calls drm_kms_helper_poll_disable(), which waits for the output poll worker to finish if it's running. The output poll worker meanwhile calls pm_runtime_get_sync() in amdgpu's ->detect hooks, which waits for the ongoing suspend to finish, causing a deadlock. Fix by not acquiring a runtime PM ref if the ->detect hooks are called in the output poll worker's context. This is safe because the poll worker is only enabled while runtime active and we know that ->runtime_suspend waits for it to finish. Fixes: |

Linux kernel ============ This file was moved to Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst Please notice that there are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. See Documentation/00-INDEX for a list of what is contained in each file. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
