linux-next/scripts/basic/Makefile
Linus Torvalds 1da177e4c3 Linux-2.6.12-rc2
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history,
even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git
archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about
3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early
git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good
infrastructure for it.

Let it rip!

# Makefile.basic list the most basic programs used during the build process.
# The programs listed herein is what is needed to do the basic stuff,
# such as splitting .config and fix dependency file.
# This initial step is needed to avoid files to be recompiled
# when kernel configuration changes (which is what happens when
# .config is included by main Makefile.

# fixdep: Used to generate dependency information during build process
# split-include: Divide all config symbols up in a number of files in
# include/config/...
# docproc: Used in Documentation/docbook
