b7e16ec6e3 power: bq2415x_charger: Delete unnecessary checks before the function call "of_node_put"
The of_node_put() function tests whether its argument is NULL and then
returns immediately. Thus the test around the calls is not needed.

This issue was detected by using the Coccinelle software.

b68c316143 bq2415x_charger: Allow to load and use driver even if notify device is not registered yet
Driver bq2415x_charger works also without notify power supply device for
charger detection. But when charger detection is specified in DT, then
bq2415x_charger refused to loaded with -EPROBE_DEFER.

This patch rewrites code so that notify device for charger detection is
checked when power supply event is received and not when registering power
supply device. So this patch allows to use bq2415x_charger driver also when
kernel is compiled without driver for notify power supply device.

Now after this patch scheduled workqueue is called after INIT_DELAYED_WORK,
so it also fix problem when scheduled workqueue was called before init.

b01e7c3b80 power_supply: bq2415x_charger: Add ACPI support
Replace of_property_read_u32() with device_property_read_u32(), which is a
wrapper over ACPI and device tree enumeration methods.
When ACPI enumeration is used, automode is not supported. Therefore,
bq2415x_charger does not update its input current automatically, depending
on the USB port type that is connected to. Input current may be updated via
sysfs.

297d716f62 power_supply: Change ownership from driver to core
Change the ownership of power_supply structure from each driver
implementing the class to the power supply core.

The patch changes power_supply_register() function thus all drivers
implementing power supply class are adjusted.

Each driver provides the implementation of power supply. However it
should not be the owner of power supply class instance because it is
exposed by core to other subsystems with power_supply_get_by_name().
These other subsystems have no knowledge when the driver will unregister
the power supply. This leads to several issues when driver is unbound -
mostly because user of power supply accesses freed memory.

Instead let the core own the instance of struct 'power_supply'.  Other
users of this power supply will still access valid memory because it
will be freed when device reference count reaches 0. Currently this
means "it will leak" but power_supply_put() call in next patches will
solve it.

This solves invalid memory references in following race condition
scenario:

Thread 1: charger manager
Thread 2: power supply driver, used by charger manager

The 'get_property' call is executed in invalid context because the driver was
unbound and struct 'power_supply' memory was freed.

This could be observed easily with charger manager driver (here compiled
with max17040 fuel gauge):

2dc9215d7c power_supply: Move run-time configuration to separate structure
Add new structure 'power_supply_config' for holding run-time
initialization data like of_node, supplies and private driver data.

The power_supply_register() function is changed so all power supply
drivers need updating.

When registering the power supply this new 'power_supply_config' should be
used instead of directly initializing 'struct power_supply'. This allows
changing the ownership of power_supply structure from driver to the
power supply core in next patches.

When a driver does not use of_node or supplies then it should use NULL
as config. If driver uses of_node or supplies then it should allocate
config on stack and initialize it with proper values.

21e863b233 power: bq2415x_charger: Fix memory leak on DTS parsing error
Memory allocated for 'name' was leaking if required binding properties
were not present.

The memory for 'name' was allocated early at probe with kasprintf(). It
was freed in error paths executed before and after parsing DTS but not
in that error path.

Fix the error path for parsing device tree properties.

0eaf437aa1 power: bq2415x_charger: Properly handle ENODEV from power_supply_get_by_phandle
The power_supply_get_by_phandle() on error returns ENODEV or NULL.
The driver later expects obtained pointer to power supply to be
valid or NULL. If it is not NULL then it dereferences it in
bq2415x_notifier_call() which would lead to dereferencing ENODEV-value
pointer.

Properly handle the power_supply_get_by_phandle() error case by
replacing error value with NULL. This indicates that usb charger
detection won't be used.

Fix also memory leak of 'name' if power_supply_get_by_phandle() fails
with NULL and probe should defer.

32260308b4 bq2415x_charger: Use power_supply notifier for automode
This patch removing set_mode_hook function from board data and replacing
it with new string variable of notifier power supply device. After this
change it is possible to add DT support because driver does not need
specific board function anymore. Only static data and name of power supply
device is required.

As per the datasheets, maximum battery regulation voltage is 4440mV.

The formula is (voltage - offset) / step, so the maximum value is:
(4440 - 3500) / 20 = 47

* Renamed mode BQ2415X_MODE_NONE to BQ2415X_MODE_OFF because this mode
  turning chaging completly off

* Added new mode BQ2415X_MODE_NONE which enable charging with maximal
  current limit 100mA (this is minimal safe value for bq2415x chips)
