9a43816182 mISDN: Remove VLAs
There's an ongoing effort to remove VLAs[1] from the kernel to eventually
turn on -Wvla. Remove the VLAs from the mISDN code by switching to using
kstrdup in one place and using an upper bound in another.

5bb053bef8 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net-next
Pull networking updates from David Miller:

 1) Support offloading wireless authentication to userspace via
    NL80211_CMD_EXTERNAL_AUTH, from Srinivas Dasari.

 2) A lot of work on network namespace setup/teardown from Kirill Tkhai.
    Setup and cleanup of namespaces now all run asynchronously and thus
    performance is significantly increased.

 3) Add rx/tx timestamping support to mv88e6xxx driver, from Brandon
    Streiff.

 4) Support zerocopy on RDS sockets, from Sowmini Varadhan.

 5) Use denser instruction encoding in x86 eBPF JIT, from Daniel
    Borkmann.

 6) Support hw offload of vlan filtering in mvpp2 dreiver, from Maxime
    Chevallier.

 7) Support grafting of child qdiscs in mlxsw driver, from Nogah
    Frankel.

 8) Add packet forwarding tests to selftests, from Ido Schimmel.

 9) Deal with sub-optimal GSO packets better in BBR congestion control,
    from Eric Dumazet.

10) Support 5-tuple hashing in ipv6 multipath routing, from David Ahern.

11) Add path MTU tests to selftests, from Stefano Brivio.

12) Various bits of IPSEC offloading support for mlx5, from Aviad
    Yehezkel, Yossi Kuperman, and Saeed Mahameed.

13) Support RSS spreading on ntuple filters in SFC driver, from Edward
    Cree.

14) Lots of sockmap work from John Fastabend. Applications can use eBPF
    to filter sendmsg and sendpage operations.

15) In-kernel receive TLS support, from Dave Watson.

16) Add XDP support to ixgbevf, this is significant because it should
    allow optimized XDP usage in various cloud environments. From Tony
    Nguyen.

17) Add new Intel E800 series "ice" ethernet driver, from Anirudh
    Venkataramanan et al.

18) IP fragmentation match offload support in nfp driver, from Pieter
    Jansen van Vuuren.

19) Support XDP redirect in i40e driver, from Björn Töpel.

20) Add BPF_RAW_TRACEPOINT program type for accessing the arguments of
    tracepoints in their raw form, from Alexei Starovoitov.

21) Lots of striding RQ improvements to mlx5 driver with many
    performance improvements, from Tariq Toukan.

22) Use rhashtable for inet frag reassembly, from Eric Dumazet.

a687a53370 treewide: simplify Kconfig dependencies for removed archs

In those cases that depend on architectures we have already removed,
they can be omitted.

9b2c45d479 net: make getname() functions return length rather than use int* parameter
Changes since v1:
Added changes in these files:
    drivers/infiniband/hw/usnic/usnic_transport.c
    drivers/staging/lustre/lnet/lnet/lib-socket.c
    drivers/target/iscsi/iscsi_target_login.c
    drivers/vhost/net.c
    fs/dlm/lowcomms.c
    fs/ocfs2/cluster/tcp.c
    security/tomoyo/network.c

Before:
All these functions either return a negative error indicator,
or store length of sockaddr into "int *socklen" parameter
and return zero on success.

"int *socklen" parameter is awkward. For example, if caller does not
care, it still needs to provide on-stack storage for the value
it does not need.

None of the many FOO_getname() functions of various protocols
ever used old value of *socklen. They always just overwrite it.

This change drops this parameter, and makes all these functions, on success,
return length of sockaddr. It's always >= 0 and can be differentiated
from an error.

Tests in callers are changed from "if (err)" to "if (err < 0)", where needed.

rpc_sockname() lost "int buflen" parameter, since its only use was
to be passed to kernel_getsockname() as &buflen and subsequently
not used in any way.

Userspace API is not changed.

a9a08845e9 vfs: do bulk POLL* -> EPOLL* replacement
This is the mindless scripted replacement of kernel use of POLL*
variables as described by Al, done by this script:

    for V in IN OUT PRI ERR RDNORM RDBAND WRNORM WRBAND HUP RDHUP NVAL MSG; do
        L=`git grep -l -w POLL$V | grep -v '^t' | grep -v /um/ | grep -v '^sa' | grep -v '/poll.h$'|grep -v '^D'`
        for f in $L; do sed -i "-es/^\([^\"]*\)\(\<POLL$V\>\)/\\1E\\2/" $f; done
    done

with de-mangling cleanups yet to come.

NOTE! On almost all architectures, the EPOLL* constants have the same
values as the POLL* constants do. But they keyword here is "almost".
For various bad reasons they aren't the same, and epoll() doesn't
actually work quite correctly in some cases due to this on Sparc et al.

The next patch from Al will sort out the final differences, and we
should be all done.

1ed2d76e02 Merge branch 'work.sock_recvmsg' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/viro/vfs
Pull kern_recvmsg reduction from Al Viro:
 "kernel_recvmsg() is a set_fs()-using wrapper for sock_recvmsg(). In
  all but one case that is not needed - use of ITER_KVEC for ->msg_iter
  takes care of the data and does not care about set_fs(). The only
  exception is svc_udp_recvfrom() where we want cmsg to be store into
  kernel object; everything else can just use sock_recvmsg() and be done
  with that.

  A followup converting svc_udp_recvfrom() away from set_fs() (and
  killing kernel_recvmsg() off) is *NOT* in here - I'd like to hear what
  netdev folks think of the approach proposed in that followup)"

86cb30ec07 treewide: setup_timer() -> timer_setup() (2 field)
This converts all remaining setup_timer() calls that use a nested field
to reach a struct timer_list. Coccinelle does not have an easy way to
match multiple fields, so a new script is needed to change the matches of
"&_E->_timer" into "&_E->_field1._timer" in all the rules.

e99e88a9d2 treewide: setup_timer() -> timer_setup()
This converts all remaining cases of the old setup_timer() API into using
timer_setup(), where the callback argument is the structure already
holding the struct timer_list. These should have no behavioral changes,
since they just change which pointer is passed into the callback with
the same available pointers after conversion. It handles the following
examples, in addition to some other variations.

Casting from unsigned long:

    void my_callback(unsigned long data)
    {
        struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data;
    ...
    }
    ...
    setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, ptr);

and forced object casts:

    void my_callback(struct something *ptr)
    {
    ...
    }
    ...
    setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, (unsigned long)ptr);

become:

    void my_callback(struct timer_list *t)
    {
        struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer);
    ...
    }
    ...
    timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);

Direct function assignments:

    void my_callback(unsigned long data)
    {
        struct something *ptr = (struct something *)data;
    ...
    }
    ...
    ptr->my_timer.function = my_callback;

have a temporary cast added, along with converting the args:

    void my_callback(struct timer_list *t)
    {
        struct something *ptr = from_timer(ptr, t, my_timer);
    ...
    }
    ...
    ptr->my_timer.function = (TIMER_FUNC_TYPE)my_callback;

And finally, callbacks without a data assignment:

    void my_callback(unsigned long data)
    {
    ...
    }
    ...
    setup_timer(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);

have their argument renamed to verify they're unused during conversion:

    void my_callback(struct timer_list *unused)
    {
    ...
    }
    ...
    timer_setup(&ptr->my_timer, my_callback, 0);

The conversion is done with the following Coccinelle script:

spatch --very-quiet --all-includes --include-headers \
	-I ./arch/x86/include -I ./arch/x86/include/generated \
	-I ./include -I ./arch/x86/include/uapi \

b9eaf18722 treewide: init_timer() -> setup_timer()
This mechanically converts all remaining cases of ancient open-coded timer
setup with the old setup_timer() API, which is the first step in timer
conversions. This has no behavioral changes, since it ultimately just
changes the order of assignment to fields of struct timer_list when
finding variations of:

    init_timer(&t);
    f.function = timer_callback;
    t.data = timer_callback_arg;

to be converted into:

    setup_timer(&t, timer_callback, timer_callback_arg);

The conversion is done with the following Coccinelle script, which
is an improved version of scripts/cocci/api/setup_timer.cocci, in the
following ways:
 - assignments-before-init_timer() cases
 - limit the .data case removal to the specific struct timer_list instance
 - handling calls by dereference (timer->field vs timer.field)

b24413180f License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license
Many source files in the tree are missing licensing information, which
makes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.

By default all files without license information are under the default
license of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.

Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'
SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally binding
shorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.

This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart and
Philippe Ombredanne.

How this work was done:

Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset of
the use cases:
 - file had no licensing information it it.
 - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it,
 - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,

Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up cases
where non-standard license headers were used, and references to license
had to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.

The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied to
a file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of the
output of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDX
tag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared the
base worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.

The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 files
assessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scanner
results in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)
to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was not
immediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was:
 - Files considered eligible had to be source code files.
 - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5
   lines of source
 - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5
   lines).

All documentation files were explicitly excluded.

The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX license
identifiers to apply.

 - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was
   considered to have no license information in it, and the top level
   COPYING file license applied.

   For non */uapi/* files that summary was:

   SPDX license identifier                            # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|-------
   GPL-2.0                                              11139

   and resulted in the first patch in this series.

   If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH
   Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was:

   SPDX license identifier                            # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|-------
   GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note                        930

   and resulted in the second patch in this series.

 - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one
   of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if
   any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in
   it (per prior point). Results summary:

   SPDX license identifier                            # files
   ---------------------------------------------------|------
   GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note                       270
   GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note                      169
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause)    21
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause)    17
   LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note                      15
   GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note                       14
   ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause)    5
   LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note                       4
   LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note                        3
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT)              3
   ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT)             1

   and that resulted in the third patch in this series.

 - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became
   the concluded license(s).

 - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a
   license but the other didn't, or they both detected different
   licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred.

 - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file
   resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and
   which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics).

 - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was
   confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

 - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier,
   the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later
   in time.

In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on the
spreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to the
source files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmation
by lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.

Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base from
FOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scanners
disagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. The
Windriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, so
they are related.

Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheets
for the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in the
files he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checks
in about 15000 files.

In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to have
copy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect the
correct identifier.

Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manual
inspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patch
version early this week with:
 - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected
   license ids and scores
 - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+
   files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct
 - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license
   was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied
   SPDX license was correct

This produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. This
worksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for the
different types of files to be modified.

These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script to
parse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in the
format that the file expected. This script was further refined by Greg
based on the output to detect more types of files automatically and to
distinguish between header and source .c files (which need different
comment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files to
generate the patches.

02388bf87f isdn/i4l: fetch the ppp_write buffer in one shot
In isdn_ppp_write(), the header (i.e., protobuf) of the buffer is
fetched twice from userspace. The first fetch is used to peek at the
protocol of the message and reset the huptimer if necessary; while the
second fetch copies in the whole buffer. However, given that buf resides
in userspace memory, a user process can race to change its memory content
across fetches. By doing so, we can either avoid resetting the huptimer
for any type of packets (by first setting proto to PPP_LCP and later
change to the actual type) or force resetting the huptimer for LCP
packets.

This patch changes this double-fetch behavior into two single fetches
decided by condition (lp->isdn_device < 0 || lp->isdn_channel <0).

b925ef37b0 hysdn: fix to a race condition in put_log_buffer
The synchronization type that was used earlier to guard the loop that
deletes unused log buffers may lead to a situation that prevents any
thread from going through the loop.

The patch deletes previously used synchronization mechanism and moves
the loop under the spin_lock so the similar cases won't be feasible in
the future.

eeef1713ca ISDN: eicon: switch to use native bitmaps
Two arrays are clearly bit maps, so, make that explicit by converting to
bitmap API and remove custom helpers.

Note sig_ind() uses out of boundary bit to (looks like) protect against
potential bitmap_empty() checks for the same bitmap.

This patch removes that since:
1) that didn't guarantee atomicity anyway;
2) the first operation inside the for-loop is set bit in the bitmap
   (which effectively makes it non-empty);
3) group_optimization() doesn't utilize possible emptiness of the bitmap
   in question.

Thus, if there is a protection needed it should be implemented properly.

One string we pass into the cs->info buffer might be too long,
as pointed out by gcc:

drivers/isdn/divert/isdn_divert.c:488:4: note: 'sprintf' output 25 or more bytes (assuming 129) into a destination of size 90

This is unlikely to actually cause problems, so let's use snprintf

634fef6107 networking: add and use skb_put_u8()
Joe and Bjørn suggested that it'd be nicer to not have the
cast in the fairly common case of doing
	*(u8 *)skb_put(skb, 1) = c;

Add skb_put_u8() for this case, and use it across the code,
using the following spatch:

    @@
    expression SKB, C, S;
    typedef u8;
    identifier fn = {skb_put};
    fresh identifier fn2 = fn ## "_u8";
    @@
    - *(u8 *)fn(SKB, S) = C;
    + fn2(SKB, C);

Note that due to the "S", the spatch isn't perfect, it should
have checked that S is 1, but there's also places that use a
sizeof expression like sizeof(var) or sizeof(u8) etc. Turns
out that nobody ever did something like
	*(u8 *)skb_put(skb, 2) = c;

which would be wrong anyway since the second byte wouldn't be
initialized.

4df864c1d9 networking: make skb_put & friends return void pointers
It seems like a historic accident that these return unsigned char *,
and in many places that means casts are required, more often than not.

Make these functions (skb_put, __skb_put and pskb_put) return void *
and remove all the casts across the tree, adding a (u8 *) cast only
where the unsigned char pointer was used directly, all done with the
following spatch:

which actually doesn't cover pskb_put since there are only three
users overall.

A handful of stragglers were converted manually, notably a macro in
drivers/isdn/i4l/isdn_bsdcomp.c and, oddly enough, one of the many
instances in net/bluetooth/hci_sock.c. In the former file, I also
had to fix one whitespace problem spatch introduced.

Merge tag 'hwparam-20170420' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/dhowells/linux-fs

Pull hw lockdown support from David Howells:
 "Annotation of module parameters that configure hardware resources
  including ioports, iomem addresses, irq lines and dma channels.

  This allows a future patch to prohibit the use of such module
  parameters to prevent that hardware from being abused to gain access
  to the running kernel image as part of locking the kernel down under
  UEFI secure boot conditions.

  Annotations are made by changing:

        module_param(n, t, p)
        module_param_named(n, v, t, p)
        module_param_array(n, t, m, p)

  to:

        module_param_hw(n, t, hwtype, p)
        module_param_hw_named(n, v, t, hwtype, p)
        module_param_hw_array(n, t, hwtype, m, p)

  where the module parameter refers to a hardware setting

  hwtype specifies the type of the resource being configured. This can
  be one of:

        ioport Module parameter configures an I/O port
        iomem Module parameter configures an I/O mem address
        ioport_or_iomem Module parameter could be either (runtime set)
        irq Module parameter configures an I/O port
        dma Module parameter configures a DMA channel
        dma_addr Module parameter configures a DMA buffer address
        other Module parameter configures some other value

  Note that the hwtype is compile checked, but not currently stored (the
  lockdown code probably won't require it). It is, however, there for
  future use.

  A bonus is that the hwtype can also be used for grepping.

  The intention is for the kernel to ignore or reject attempts to set
  annotated module parameters if lockdown is enabled. This applies to
  options passed on the boot command line, passed to insmod/modprobe or
  direct twiddling in /sys/module/ parameter files.

  The module initialisation then needs to handle the parameter not being
  set, by (1) giving an error, (2) probing for a value or (3) using a
  reasonable default.

  What I can't do is just reject a module out of hand because it may
  take a hardware setting in the module parameters. Some important
  modules, some ipmi stuff for instance, both probe for hardware and
  allow hardware to be manually specified; if the driver is aborts with
  any error, you don't get any ipmi hardware.

  Further, trying to do this entirely in the module initialisation code
  doesn't protect against sysfs twiddling.

  [!] Note that in and of itself, this series of patches should have no
      effect on the the size of the kernel or code execution - that is
      left to a patch in the next series to effect. It does mark
      annotated kernel parameters with a KERNEL_PARAM_FL_HWPARAM flag in
      an already existing field"

David Howells
b9351f7e51 Annotate hardware config module parameters in drivers/isdn/
When the kernel is running in secure boot mode, we lock down the kernel to
prevent userspace from modifying the running kernel image. Whilst this
includes prohibiting access to things like /dev/mem, it must also prevent
access by means of configuring driver modules in such a way as to cause a
device to access or modify the kernel image.

To this end, annotate module_param* statements that refer to hardware
configuration and indicate for future reference what type of parameter they
specify. The parameter parser in the core sees this information and can
skip such parameters with an error message if the kernel is locked down.
The module initialisation then runs as normal, but just sees whatever the
default values for those parameters is.

Note that we do still need to do the module initialisation because some
drivers have viable defaults set in case parameters aren't specified and
some drivers support automatic configuration (e.g. PNP or PCI) in addition
to manually coded parameters.

This patch annotates drivers in drivers/isdn/.

gcc-7 points out that the AVMB1_ADDCARD ioctl results in an unintialized
value ending up in the cardnr parameter:

drivers/isdn/capi/kcapi.c:1042:24: error: 'cdef.cardnr' may be used uninitialized in this function [-Werror=maybe-uninitialized]
   cparams.cardnr = cdef.cardnr;

This has been broken since before the start of the git history, so
either the value is not used for anything important, or the ioctl
command doesn't get called in practice.

Setting the cardnr to zero avoids the warning and makes sure
we have consistent behavior.

c0e7a5000d isdn: Convert obsolete cputime type to nsecs
Not sure if MISDN stats are ABI but it displays task cputime in cputime_t
raw value regardless of what type cputime_t wraps which could be either
jiffies, nsecs, usecs, or whatever random time unit. Plus it wrongly
assumes that cputime_t is long.

Given that this dump is broken anyway, lets just display the nanosec
value and stick with that.

a1cecf2ba7 sched/cputime: Introduce special task_cputime_t() API to return old-typed cputime
This API returns a task's cputime in cputime_t in order to ease the

converting all cputime readers to use this API now will later let us
convert more smoothly and step by step all these places to use the
new nsec based cputime.

27d807180a ISDN: eicon: reduce stack size of sig_ind function
I noticed that this function uses a lot of kernel stack when the
"latent entropy" plugin is enabled:

drivers/isdn/hardware/eicon/message.c:6113:1: error: the frame size of 1168 bytes is larger than 1152 bytes [-Werror=frame-larger-than=]

We currently don't warn about this, as we raise the warning limit
to 2048 bytes in mainline, but I'd like to lower that limit again
in the future, and this function can easily be changed to be more
efficient and avoid that warning, by making some of its local

a52ad514fd net: deprecate eth_change_mtu, remove usage
With centralized MTU checking, there's nothing productive done by
eth_change_mtu that isn't already done in dev_set_mtu, so mark it as
deprecated and remove all usage of it in the kernel. All callers have been
audited for calls to alloc_etherdev* or ether_setup directly, which means
they all have a valid dev->min_mtu and dev->max_mtu. Now eth_change_mtu
prints out a netdev_warn about being deprecated, for the benefit of
out-of-tree drivers that might be utilizing it.

Of note, dvb_net.c actually had dev->mtu = 4096, while using
eth_change_mtu, meaning that if you ever tried changing it's mtu, you
couldn't set it above 1500 anymore. It's now getting dev->max_mtu also set
to 4096 to remedy that.

d41861ca19 tty: Replace ASYNC_INITIALIZED bit and update atomically
Replace ASYNC_INITIALIZED bit in the tty_port::flags field with
TTY_PORT_INITIALIZED bit in the tty_port::iflags field. Introduce helpers
tty_port_set_initialized() and tty_port_initialized() to abstract
atomic bit ops.

Note: the transforms for test_and_set_bit() and test_and_clear_bit()
are unnecessary as the state transitions are already mutually exclusive;
the tty lock prevents concurrent open/close/hangup.

'struct timeval' uses 32-bit representation for seconds which will
overflow in year 2038 and beyond. mISDN/clock.c needs to compute and

the usage of 'struct timeval' with 64-bit ktime_t which is y2038 safe.
The patch also replaces do_gettimeofday() (wall-clock time) with

a921e9bd4e isdn: i4l: move active-isdn drivers to staging
The icn, act2000 and pcbit drivers are all for very old hardware,
and it is highly unlikely that anyone is actually still using them
on modern kernels, if at all.

All three drivers apparently are for hardware that predates PCI
being the common connector, as they are ISA-only and active
PCI ISDN cards were widely available in the 1990s.

Looking through the git logs, it I cannot find any indication of a
patch to any of these drivers that has been tested on real hardware,
only cleanups or global API changes.

01ed1e1504 isdn: icn: remove a #warning
The icn driver currently produces an unconditional #warning whenever
we build it, introduced by Karsten Keil back in 2003:

 #warning TODO test headroom or use skb->nb to flag ACK

Karsten's original commit (from BitKeeper) contains this description:

    - here are lot of bugs left, so ISDN is not stable yet but
      I think it's really time to fix it, even if it need some cycles
      to get it right (normally I'm only send patches if it works 100% for
      me).
    - I add some additional #warnings to address places which need fixing
      (I hope that some of the other ISDN developer jump in)

Apparently this has not happened, and it is unlikely that it ever will,
given that the driver doesn't seem to work. No substantial bug fixes
other than janitorial cleanups have happened in the driver since then,
and I see no indication that anyone who patched it had the hardware.

We should probably either remove the driver, or remove all of i4l,
but for now, this shuts up the distracting #warning by turning it
into a comment.

8d2c3ab444 ser_gigaset: use container_of() instead of detour
The purpose of gigaset_device_release() is to kfree() the struct
ser_cardstate that contains our struct device. This is done via a bit of
a detour. First we make our struct device's driver_data point to the
container of our struct ser_cardstate (which is a struct cardstate). In
gigaset_device_release() we then retrieve that driver_data again. And
after that we finally kfree() the struct ser_cardstate that was saved in
the struct cardstate.

All of this can be achieved much easier by using container_of() to get
from our struct device to its container, struct ser_cardstate. Do so.

Note that at the time the detour was implemented commit b8b2c7d845
("base/platform: assert that dev_pm_domain callbacks are called
unconditionally") had just entered the tree. That commit disconnected
our platform_device and our platform_driver. These were reconnected
again in v4.5-rc2 through commit 25cad69f21 ("base/platform: Fix
platform drivers with no probe callback"). And one of the consequences
of that fix was that it broke the detour via driver_data. That's because
it made __device_release_driver() stop being a NOP for our struct device
and actually do stuff again. One of the things it now does, is setting
our driver_data to NULL. That, in turn, makes it impossible for
gigaset_device_release() to get to our struct cardstate. Which has the
net effect of leaking a struct ser_cardstate at every call of this
driver's tty close() operation. So using container_of() has the
additional benefit of actually working.

096f6262c5 isdn: divamnt: use y2038-safe ktime_get_ts64() for trace data timestamps
divamnt stores a start_time at module init and uses it to calculate
elapsed time. The elapsed time, stored in secs and usecs, is part of
the trace data the driver maintains for the DIVA Server ISDN cards.
No change to the format of that time data is required.

To avoid overflow on 32-bit systems use ktime_get_ts64() to return
the elapsed monotonic time since system boot.

This is a change from real to monotonic time. Since the driver only
stores elapsed time, monotonic time is sufficient and more robust
against real time clock changes. These new monotonic values can be
more useful for debugging because they can be easily compared to
other monotonic timestamps.

Note elaspsed time values will now start at system boot time rather
than module load time, so they will differ slightly from previously
reported values.

Remove declaration and init of previously unused time constants:
start_sec, start_usec.

Conflicts:
	drivers/net/ethernet/renesas/ravb_main.c
	kernel/bpf/syscall.c
	net/ipv4/ipmr.c

All three conflicts were cases of overlapping changes.

6cc5683401 isdn: remove spellcaster driver
The 'sc' ISDN driver relies on using readl() to access ISA I/O memory.
This has been deprecated and produced warnings since linux-2.3.23,
disabled by default since 2.4.10 and finally removed in 2.6.5.

I found this because the compiling the driver for ARM produces
a warning:

In file included from ../drivers/isdn/sc/includes.h:8:0,
                 from ../drivers/isdn/sc/init.c:13:
../arch/arm/include/asm/io.h:115:21: note: expected 'const volatile void *' but argument is of type 'long unsigned int'

It is pretty clear that this driver has not been used for a long time
and there is no point fixing it now, so let's remove it.

19cebbcb04 isdn: Partially revert debug format string usage clean up
Commit 35a4a57 ("isdn: clean up debug format string usage") introduced
a safeguard to avoid accidential format string interpolation of data
when calling debugl1 or HiSax_putstatus. This did however not take into
account VHiSax_putstatus (called by HiSax_putstatus) does *not* call
vsprintf if the head parameter is NULL - the format string is treated
as plain text then instead. As a result, the string "%s" is processed
literally, and the actual information is lost. This affects the isdnlog
userspace program which stopped logging information since that commit.

So revert the HiSax_putstatus invocations to the previous state.

73186df8d7 Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/davem/net
Minor overlapping changes in net/ipv4/ipmr.c, in 'net' we were
fixing the "BH-ness" of the counter bumps whilst in 'net-next'
the functions were modified to take an explicit 'net' parameter.

4ab42d78e3 ppp, slip: Validate VJ compression slot parameters completely
Currently slhc_init() treats out-of-range values of rslots and tslots
as equivalent to 0, except that if tslots is too large it will
dereference a null pointer (CVE-2015-7799).

Add a range-check at the top of the function and make it return an
ERR_PTR() on error instead of NULL. Change the callers accordingly.

Compile-tested only.
