e646b657f6 ipv6: udp: Do a route lookup and update during release_cb
This patch adds a release_cb for UDPv6.  It does a route lookup
and updates sk->sk_dst_cache if it is needed.  It picks up the
left-over job from ip6_sk_update_pmtu() if the sk was owned
by user during the pmtu update.

It takes a rcu_read_lock to protect the __sk_dst_get() operations
because another thread may do ip6_dst_store() without taking the
sk lock (e.g. sendmsg).

33c162a980 ipv6: datagram: Update dst cache of a connected datagram sk during pmtu update
There is a case in connected UDP socket such that
getsockopt(IPV6_MTU) will return a stale MTU value. The reproducible
sequence could be the following:
1. Create a connected UDP socket
2. Send some datagrams out
3. Receive a ICMPV6_PKT_TOOBIG
4. No new outgoing datagrams to trigger the sk_dst_check()
   logic to update the sk->sk_dst_cache.
5. getsockopt(IPV6_MTU) returns the mtu from the invalid
   sk->sk_dst_cache instead of the newly created RTF_CACHE clone.

This patch updates the sk->sk_dst_cache for a connected datagram sk
during pmtu-update code path.

Note that the sk->sk_v6_daddr is used to do the route lookup
instead of skb->data (i.e. iph).  It is because a UDP socket can become
connected after sending out some datagrams in un-connected state.  or
It can be connected multiple times to different destinations.  Hence,
iph may not be related to where sk is currently connected to.

It is done under '!sock_owned_by_user(sk)' condition because
the user may make another ip6_datagram_connect()  (i.e changing
the sk->sk_v6_daddr) while dst lookup is happening in the pmtu-update
code path.

For the sock_owned_by_user(sk) == true case, the next patch will
introduce a release_cb() which will update the sk->sk_dst_cache.

2. ipv6_addr_is_multicast(&fl6->daddr) is used instead of
   (addr_type & IPV6_ADDR_MULTICAST) in ip6_datagram_flow_key_init()

This new function will be reused during pmtu update in the later patch.

70af921db6 net: ipv6: Do not keep linklocal and loopback addresses
f1705ec197 added the option to retain user configured addresses on an
admin down. A comment to one of the later revisions suggested using the
IFA_F_PERMANENT flag rather than adding a user_managed boolean to the
ifaddr struct. A side effect of this change is that link local and
loopback addresses are also retained which is not part of the objective
of f1705ec197. Add check to drop those addresses.

4f7f34eaab net: vrf: Fix dev refcnt leak due to IPv6 prefix route
ifupdown2 found a kernel bug with IPv6 routes and movement from the main
table to the VRF table. Sequence of events:

Create the interface and add addresses:
    ip link add dev eth4.105 link eth4 type vlan id 105
    ip addr add dev eth4.105 8.105.105.10/24
    ip -6 addr add dev eth4.105 2008:105:105::10/64

At this point IPv6 has inserted a prefix route in the main table even
though the interface is 'down'. From there the VRF device is created:
    ip link add dev vrf105 type vrf table 105
    ip addr add dev vrf105 9.9.105.10/32
    ip -6 addr add dev vrf105 2000:9:105::10/128
    ip link set vrf105 up

Then the interface is enslaved, while still in the 'down' state:
    ip link set dev eth4.105 master vrf105

Since the device is down the VRF driver cycling the device does not
send the NETDEV_UP and NETDEV_DOWN but rather the NETDEV_CHANGE event
which does not flush the routes inserted prior.

When the link is brought up
    ip link set dev eth4.105 up

the prefix route is added in the VRF table, but does not remove
the route from the main table.

Fix by handling the NETDEV_CHANGEUPPER event similar what was implemented
for IPv4 in 7f49e7a38b ("net: Flush local routes when device changes vrf
association")

9ab179d83b net: vrf: Fix dst reference counting
Vivek reported a kernel exception deleting a VRF with an active
connection through it. The root cause is that the socket has a cached
reference to a dst that is destroyed. Converting the dst_destroy to
dst_release and letting proper reference counting kick in does not
work as the dst has a reference to the device which needs to be released
as well.

I talked to Hannes about this at netdev and he pointed out the ipv4 and
ipv6 dst handling has dst_ifdown for just this scenario. Rather than
continuing with the reinvented dst wheel in VRF just remove it and
leverage the ipv4 and ipv6 versions.

3ba3458fb9 ipv6: Count in extension headers in skb->network_header
When sending a UDPv6 message longer than MTU, account for the length
of fragmentable IPv6 extension headers in skb->network_header offset.
Same as we do in alloc_new_skb path in __ip6_append_data().

This ensures that later on __ip6_make_skb() will make space in
headroom for fragmentable extension headers:

b6ee376cb0 ip6_tunnel: set rtnl_link_ops before calling register_netdevice
When creating an ip6tnl tunnel with ip tunnel, rtnl_link_ops is not set
before ip6_tnl_create2 is called. When register_netdevice is called, there
is no linkinfo attribute in the NEWLINK message because of that.

Setting rtnl_link_ops before calling register_netdevice fixes that.

54d83fc74a netfilter: x_tables: fix unconditional helper
Ben Hawkes says:

 In the mark_source_chains function (net/ipv4/netfilter/ip_tables.c) it
 is possible for a user-supplied ipt_entry structure to have a large
 next_offset field. This field is not bounds checked prior to writing a
 counter value at the supplied offset.

Problem is that mark_source_chains should not have been called --
the rule doesn't have a next entry, so its supposed to return
an absolute verdict of either ACCEPT or DROP.

However, the function conditional() doesn't work as the name implies.
It only checks that the rule is using wildcard address matching.

However, an unconditional rule must also not be using any matches
(no -m args).

The underflow validator only checked the addresses, therefore
passing the 'unconditional absolute verdict' test, while
mark_source_chains also tested for presence of matches, and thus
proceeeded to the next (not-existent) rule.

Unify this so that all the callers have same idea of 'unconditional rule'.

a09a4c8dd1 tunnels: Remove encapsulation offloads on decap.
If a packet is either locally encapsulated or processed through GRO
it is marked with the offloads that it requires. However, when it is
decapsulated these tunnel offload indications are not removed. This
means that if we receive an encapsulated TCP packet, aggregate it with
GRO, decapsulate, and retransmit the resulting frame on a NIC that does
not support encapsulation, we won't be able to take advantage of hardware
offloads even though it is just a simple TCP packet at this point.

This fixes the problem by stripping off encapsulation offload indications
when packets are decapsulated.

The performance impacts of this bug are significant. In a test where a
Geneve encapsulated TCP stream is sent to a hypervisor, GRO'ed, decapsulated,
and bridged to a VM performance is improved by 60% (5Gbps->8Gbps) as a
result of avoiding unnecessary segmentation at the VM tap interface.

fac8e0f579 tunnels: Don't apply GRO to multiple layers of encapsulation.
When drivers express support for TSO of encapsulated packets, they
only mean that they can do it for one layer of encapsulation.
Supporting additional levels would mean updating, at a minimum,
more IP length fields and they are unaware of this.

No encapsulation device expresses support for handling offloaded
encapsulated packets, so we won't generate these types of frames
in the transmit path. However, GRO doesn't have a check for
multiple levels of encapsulation and will attempt to build them.

UDP tunnel GRO actually does prevent this situation but it only
handles multiple UDP tunnels stacked on top of each other. This
generalizes that solution to prevent any kind of tunnel stacking
that would cause problems.

a44d6eacda tcp: Add RFC4898 tcpEStatsPerfDataSegsOut/In
Per RFC4898, they count segments sent/received
containing a positive length data segment (that includes
retransmission segments carrying data).  Unlike
tcpi_segs_out/in, tcpi_data_segs_out/in excludes segments
carrying no data (e.g. pure ack).

The patch also updates the segs_in in tcp_fastopen_add_skb()
so that segs_in >= data_segs_in property is kept.

Together with retransmission data, tcpi_data_segs_out
gives a better signal on the rxmit rate.

v6: Rebase on the latest net-next

v5: Eric pointed out that checking skb->len is still needed in
tcp_fastopen_add_skb() because skb can carry a FIN without data.
Hence, instead of open coding segs_in and data_segs_in, tcp_segs_in()

segs_in has to be reset and tcp_segs_in() has to be called before
__skb_pull().

1e94082963 ipv6: Pass proto to csum_ipv6_magic as __u8 instead of unsigned short
This patch updates csum_ipv6_magic so that it correctly recognizes that
protocol is a unsigned 8 bit value.

This will allow us to better understand what limitations may or may not be
present in how we handle the data.  For example there are a number of
places that call htonl on the protocol value.  This is likely not necessary
and can be replaced with a multiplication by ntohl(1) which will be
converted to a shift by the compiler.

This patch extends udp_tunnel6_xmit_skb() to pass in the IPv6 flow label
from call sites. Currently, there's no such option and it's always set to
zero when writing ip6_flow_hdr(). Add a label member to ip_tunnel_key, so
that flow-based tunnels via collect metadata frontends can make use of it.
vxlan and geneve will be converted to add flow label support separately.

3dc94f93be ipv6: per netns FIB garbage collection
One of our customers observed issues with FIB6 garbage collectors
running in different network namespaces blocking each other, resulting
in soft lockups (fib6_run_gc() initiated from timer runs always in
forced mode).

Now that FIB6 walkers are separated per namespace, there is no more need
for instances of fib6_run_gc() in different namespaces blocking each
other. There is still a call to icmp6_dst_gc() which operates on shared
data but this function is protected by its own shared lock.

Global variable gc_args is only used in fib6_run_gc() and functions
called from it. As fib6_run_gc() makes sure there is at most one
instance of fib6_clean_all() running at any moment, we can replace

59dca1d8a6 udp6: fix UDP/IPv6 encap resubmit path
IPv4 interprets a negative return value from a protocol handler as a
request to redispatch to a new protocol.  In contrast, IPv6 interprets a
negative value as an error, and interprets a positive value as a request
for redispatch.

UDP for IPv6 was unaware of this difference.  Change __udp6_lib_rcv() to
return a positive value for redispatch.  Note that the socket's
encap_rcv hook still needs to return a negative value to request
dispatch, and in the case of IPv6 packets, adjust IP6CB(skb)->nhoff to
identify the byte containing the next protocol.

Andrew and Ying Huang's test robot both reported usage count problems that
trace back to the 'keep address on ifdown' patch.

5d150a9855 ipv6: re-enable fragment header matching in ipv6_find_hdr
When ipv6_find_hdr is used to find a fragment header
(caller specifies target NEXTHDR_FRAGMENT) we erronously return
-ENOENT for all fragments with nonzero offset.

Before commit 9195bb8e38, when target was specified, we did not
enter the exthdr walk loop as nexthdr == target so this used to work.

Now we do (so we can skip empty route headers). When we then stumble upon
a frag with nonzero frag_off we must return -ENOENT ("header not found")
only if the caller did not specifically request NEXTHDR_FRAGMENT.

This allows nfables exthdr expression to match ipv6 fragments, e.g. via

nft add rule ip6 filter input frag frag-off gt 0

The current reserved_tailroom calculation fails to take hlen and tlen into
account.

skb:

In this representation, hlen + data + tlen is the size passed to alloc_skb.
"extra" is the extra space made available in __alloc_skb because of
rounding up by kmalloc. We can reorder the representation like so:

head                                            skb_end_offset

The maximum space available for ip headers and payload without
fragmentation is min(mtu, data + extra). Therefore,
reserved_tailroom
= data + extra + tlen - min(mtu, data + extra)
= skb_end_offset - hlen - min(mtu, skb_end_offset - hlen - tlen)
= skb_tailroom - min(mtu, skb_tailroom - tlen) ; after skb_reserve(hlen)

Compare the second line to the current expression:
reserved_tailroom = skb_end_offset - min(mtu, skb_end_offset)
and we can see that hlen and tlen are not taken into account.

The min() in the third line can be expanded into:
if mtu < skb_tailroom - tlen:
	reserved_tailroom = skb_tailroom - mtu
else:
	reserved_tailroom = tlen

Depending on hlen, tlen, mtu and the number of multicast address records,
the current code may output skbs that have less tailroom than
dev->needed_tailroom or it may output more skbs than needed because not all
space available is used.

b9e69e1273 netfilter: xtables: don't hook tables by default
delay hook registration until the table is being requested inside a
namespace.

Historically, a particular table (iptables mangle, ip6tables filter, etc)
was registered on module load.

When netns support was added to iptables only the ip/ip6tables ruleset was
made namespace aware, not the actual hook points.

This means f.e. that when ipt_filter table/module is loaded on a system,
then each namespace on that system has an (empty) iptables filter ruleset.

In other words, if a namespace sends a packet, such skb is 'caught' by
netfilter machinery and fed to hooking points for that table (i.e. INPUT,
FORWARD, etc).

Thanks to Eric Biederman, hooks are no longer global, but per namespace.

This means that we can avoid allocation of empty ruleset in a namespace and
defer hook registration until we need the functionality.

We register a tables hook entry points ONLY in the initial namespace.
When an iptables get/setockopt is issued inside a given namespace, we check
if the table is found in the per-namespace list.

If not, we attempt to find it in the initial namespace, and, if found,
create an empty default table in the requesting namespace and register the
needed hooks.

Hook points are destroyed only once namespace is deleted, there is no
'usage count' (it makes no sense since there is no 'remove table' operation
in xtables api).

This change prepares for upcoming on-demand xtables hook registration.

We change the protoypes of the register/unregister functions.
A followup patch will then add nf_hook_register/unregister calls
to the iptables one.

Once a hook is registered packets will be picked up, so all assignments
of the form

net->ipv4.iptable_$table = new_table

have to be moved to ip(6)t_register_table, else we can see NULL
net->ipv4.iptable_$table later.

This patch doesn't change functionality; without this the actual change
simply gets too big.

4f25a1110c net: ipv6/l3mdev: Move host route on saved address if necessary
Commit f1705ec197 allows IPv6 addresses to be retained on a link down.
The address can have a cached host route which can point to the wrong
FIB table if the L3 enslavement is changed (e.g., route can point to local
table instead of VRF table if device is added to an L3 domain).

On link up check the table of the cached host route against the FIB
table associated with the device and correct if needed.

2246387662 GSO: Provide software checksum of tunneled UDP fragmentation offload
On reviewing the code I realized that GRE and UDP tunnels could cause a
kernel panic if we used GSO to segment a large UDP frame that was sent
through the tunnel with an outer checksum and hardware offloads were not
available.

In order to correct this we need to update the feature flags that are
passed to the skb_segment function so that in the event of UDP
fragmentation being requested for the inner header the segmentation
function will correctly generate the checksum for the payload if we cannot
segment the outer header.

addresses with no expire times are not flushed on an admin down. The sysctl
is per-interface or system-wide for all interfaces

    $ sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.eth1.keep_addr_on_down=1
or
    $ sysctl -w net.ipv6.conf.all.keep_addr_on_down=1

Will keep addresses on eth1 on an admin down.

5146d1f151 tunnel: Clear IPCB(skb)->opt before dst_link_failure called
IPCB may contain data from previous layers (in the observed case the
qdisc layer). In the observed scenario, the data was misinterpreted as
ip header options, which later caused the ihl to be set to an invalid
value (<5). This resulted in an infinite loop in the mips implementation
of ip_fast_csum.

This patch clears IPCB(skb)->opt before dst_link_failure can be called for
various types of tunnels. This change only applies to encapsulated ipv4
packets.

The code introduced in 11c21a30 which clears all of IPCB has been removed
to be consistent with these changes, and instead the opt field is cleared
unconditionally in ip_tunnel_xmit. The change in ip_tunnel_xmit applies to
SIT, GRE, and IPIP tunnels.

The relevant vti, l2tp, and pptp functions already contain similar code for
clearing the IPCB.

e0d8c1b738 ipv6: pass up EMSGSIZE msg for UDP socket in Ipv6
In ipv4,  when  the machine receives a ICMP_FRAG_NEEDED message,  the
connected UDP socket will get EMSGSIZE message on its next read from the
socket.
However, this is not the case for ipv6.
This fix modifies the udp err handler in Ipv6 for ICMP6_PKT_TOOBIG to
make it similar to ipv4 behavior. That is when the machine gets an
ICMP6_PKT_TOOBIG message, the connected UDP socket will get EMSGSIZE
message on its next read from the socket.

d13b161c2c gre: clear IFF_TX_SKB_SHARING
ether_setup sets IFF_TX_SKB_SHARING but this is not supported by gre
as it modifies the skb on xmit.

Also, clean up whitespace in ipgre_tap_setup when we're already touching it.
