dce80a5626 SFI: add sysfs interface for SFI tables.
Analogous to ACPI's /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/...

create /sys/firmware/sfi/tables/

The tables are primariy for the kernel,
but sometimes it is useful for user-space to be
able to read them.

ed4a6d7f06 mm: compaction: add /sys trigger for per-node memory compaction
Add a per-node sysfs file called compact. When the file is written to,
each zone in that node is compacted. The intention that this would be
used by something like a job scheduler in a batch system before a job
starts so that the job can allocate the maximum number of hugepages
without significant start-up cost.

a90309860b USB: deprecate the power/level sysfs attribute
This patch (as1367) deprecates USB's power/level sysfs attribute in
favor of the power/control attribute provided by the runtime PM core.

power/control, but at the moment sysfs doesn't offer any way to do so.

3a370ca1dc HID: Prodikeys PC-MIDI HID Driver
A specialised HID driver for the Creative Prodikeys PC-MIDI USB Keyboard.

The Prodikeys PC-MIDI is a multifunction keyboard comprising a qwerty keyboard,
multimedia keys and a touch sensitive musical keyboard.

The specialised HID driver adds full support for the musical keyboard and extra
multimedia keys which are not currently handled by the default HID driver.

The specialised HID driver interfaces with ALSA, and presents the midi keyboard
as a rawmidi device. Sustain duration, octave shifting and the midi output
channel can be read/written form userspace via sysfs.

75568f8094 PCI: create function symlinks in /sys/bus/pci/slots/N/
Create convenience symlinks in sysfs, linking slots to device
functions, and vice versa. These links make it easier for users to
figure out which devices actually live in what slots.

For example:

sapphire:/sys/bus/pci/slots # ls
1 10 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9

sapphire:/sys/bus/pci/slots # ls -l 3
total 0
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 65536 Aug 18 14:10 address
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     0 Aug 18 14:10 function0 ->
../../../../devices/pci0000:23/0000:23:01.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root     0 Aug 18 14:10 function1 ->
../../../../devices/pci0000:23/0000:23:01.1

sapphire:/sys/bus/pci/slots # ls -l 3/function0/slot
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 0 Aug 18 14:13 3/function0/slot ->
../../../bus/pci/slots/3

The original form of this patch was written by Matthew Wilcox,
and was enhanced to include links from the sysfs slots/ directory
pointing back at the device functions.

14bf62cde7 HID: add driver for Roccat Kone gaming mouse
This Patch adds support for Kone gaming mouse from Roccat.
It provides access to profiles, settings, firmware, weight,
actual settings etc. through sysfs attributes.
Event handling of this mouse differs from standard hid behaviour
in that tilt button press is reported in each move event which
results in strange behaviour if not handled by the driver.

This is a heavily reworked version of the previously introduced driver.
The changes include most of the previously raised concerns,
memory leak and other fixes, code cleanups, adoption of additional
achieved knowlege about the hardware and is (IMHO) a much better version
than before even when I exchanged reduced USB-IO with a bigger memory
consumption.

I refused to implement one mentioned point:
Removing the 'just-because-we-can' attributes. Motivation:
Reading the clipped in weight: I'm no gamer and can't determine the
usefulness of this feature but if the manufacturer implements such a
feature it might make sense to someone and I would unwillingly limit the
functionality besides its such a small feature.
Reading the actual profile and dpi settings: Here I can testify that one
can get lost of the actual settings when switching back and forth.
The manufacturers windows driver has the ability for on-screen-display
of the values and there is a mouse in the market that has an lcd on the
underside of it to show these values. So I think this feature makes sense
not only for me and shouldn't be removed.

facb6011f3 HWPOISON: Add soft page offline support
This is a simpler, gentler variant of memory_failure() for soft page
offlining controlled from user space. It doesn't kill anything, just
tries to invalidate and if that doesn't work migrate the
page away.

This is useful for predictive failure analysis, where a page has
a high rate of corrected errors, but hasn't gone bad yet. Instead
it can be offlined early and avoided.

The offlining is controlled from sysfs, including a new generic
entry point for hard page offlining for symmetry too.

We use the page isolate facility to prevent re-allocation
race. Normally this is only used by memory hotplug. To avoid
races with memory allocation I am using lock_system_sleep().
This avoids the situation where memory hotplug is about
to isolate a page range and then hwpoison undoes that work.
This is a big hammer currently, but the simplest solution
currently.

When the page is not free or LRU we try to free pages
from slab and other caches. The slab freeing is currently
quite dumb and does not try to focus on the specific slab
cache which might own the page. This could be potentially
improved later.

Thanks to Fengguang Wu and Haicheng Li for some fixes.

dee5d0d518 mm: add numa node symlink for memory section in sysfs
Commit c04fc586c (mm: show node to memory section relationship with
symlinks in sysfs) created symlinks from nodes to memory sections, e.g.

/sys/devices/system/node/node1/memory135 -> ../../memory/memory135

If you're examining the memory section though and are wondering what node
it might belong to, you can find it by grovelling around in sysfs, but
it's a little cumbersome.

Add a reverse symlink for each memory section that points back to the
node to which it belongs.

12633e803a sysfs/cpu: Add probe/release files
Version 3 of this patch is updated with documentation added to
Documentation/ABI. There are no changes to any of the C code from v2
of the patch.

In order to support kernel DLPAR of CPU resources we need to provide an
interface to add (probe) and remove (release) the resource from the system.
This patch Creates new generic probe and release sysfs files to facilitate
cpu probe/release. The probe/release interface provides for allowing each
arch to supply their own routines for implementing the backend of adding
and removing cpus to/from the system.

This also creates the powerpc specific stubs to handle the arch callouts
from writes to the sysfs files.

The creation and use of these files is regulated by the
CONFIG_ARCH_CPU_PROBE_RELEASE option so that only architectures that need the
capability will have the files created.

78eb00cc57 slub: allow stats to be cleared
When collecting slub stats for particular workloads, it's necessary to
collect each statistic for all caches before the job is even started
because the counters are usually greater than zero just from boot and
initialization.

This allows a statistic to be cleared on each cpu by writing '0' to its
sysfs file. This creates a baseline for statistics of interest before
the workload is started.

Setting a statistic to a particular value is not supported, so all values
written to these files other than '0' returns -EINVAL.

ff77c352ae gpiolib: allow poll() on value
Many gpio chips allow to generate interrupts when the value of a pin
changes. This patch gives usermode application the opportunity to make
use of this feature by calling poll(2) on the /sys/class/gpio/gpioN/value
sysfs file. The edge to trigger can be set in the edge file in the same
directory. Possible values are "none", "rising", "falling", and "both".

Using level triggers is not possible with current sysfs since nothing
changes the GPIO value (and the IRQ keeps triggering). Edge triggering
will "just work". Note that if there was an event between read() and
poll(), the poll() returns immediately.

Also note that this version only supports true GPIO interrupts. Some
later patch might be able to synthesize this behavior by timer-driven
polling; some systems seem to need that.

711d57796f PCI: expose function reset capability in sysfs
Some devices allow an individual function to be reset without affecting
other functions in the same device: that's what pci_reset_function does.
For devices that have this support, expose reset attribite in sysfs.

This is useful e.g. for virtualization, where a qemu userspace
process wants to reset the device when the guest is reset,
to emulate machine reboot as closely as possible.

eae9d2ba0c LinuxPPS: core support
This patch adds the kernel side of the PPS support currently named
"LinuxPPS".

PPS means "pulse per second" and a PPS source is just a device which
provides a high precision signal each second so that an application can
use it to adjust system clock time.

Common use is the combination of the NTPD as userland program with a GPS
receiver as PPS source to obtain a wallclock-time with sub-millisecond
synchronisation to UTC.

To obtain this goal the userland programs shoud use the PPS API
specification (RFC 2783 - Pulse-Per-Second API for UNIX-like Operating
Systems, Version 1.0) which in part is implemented by this patch. It
provides a set of chars devices, one per PPS source, which can be used to
get the time signal. The RFC's functions can be implemented by accessing
to these char devices.

c825bc94c8 PCI hotplug: create symlink to hotplug driver module
Create symbolic link to hotplug driver module in the PCI slot
directory (/sys/bus/pci/slots/<SLOT#>). In the past, we need to load
hotplug drivers one by one to identify the hotplug driver that handles
the slot, and it was very inconvenient especially for trouble shooting.
With this change, we can easily identify the hotplug driver.

11013911da ext4: teach the inode allocator to use a goal inode number
Enhance the inode allocator to take a goal inode number as a
paremeter; if it is specified, it takes precedence over Orlov or
parent directory inode allocation algorithms.

The extents migration function uses the goal inode number so that the
extent trees allocated the migration function use the correct flex_bg.
In the future, the goal inode functionality will also be used to
allocate an adjacent inode for the extended attributes.

Also, for testing purposes the goal inode number can be specified via
/sys/fs/{dev}/inode_goal. This can be useful for testing inode
allocation beyond 2^32 blocks on very large filesystems.

c72758f337 block: Export I/O topology for block devices and partitions
To support devices with physical block sizes bigger than 512 bytes we
need to ensure proper alignment. This patch adds support for exposing
I/O topology characteristics as devices are stacked.

logical_block_size is the smallest unit the device can address.

physical_block_size indicates the smallest I/O the device can write
  without incurring a read-modify-write penalty.

The io_min parameter is the smallest preferred I/O size reported by
the device. In many cases this is the same as the physical block
size. However, the io_min parameter can be scaled up when stacking
(RAID5 chunk size > physical block size).

The io_opt characteristic indicates the optimal I/O size reported by
the device. This is usually the stripe width for arrays.

The alignment_offset parameter indicates the number of bytes the start
of the device/partition is offset from the device's natural alignment.
Partition tools and MD/DM utilities can use this to pad their offsets
so filesystems start on proper boundaries.
