This fix is along the same lines as 5e33ebff7e ("clk: imx7d: do not
set parent of ethernet time/ref clocks") and the explanation from that
commit is:
"The reason for the warning is that setting the parent enables the ENET
PLL since we are using CLK_OPS_PARENT_ENABLE. Enabling the ENET PLL can
cause clk_pllv3_wait_lock to sleep. See also:
commit fc8726a2c0 ("clk: core: support clocks which requires parents
enable (part 2)")."
imx7s-warp does not even use the FEC interface, so we should not really
configure the parent of IMX7D_ENET_AXI_ROOT_SRC in the common MX7 clock
driver code.
The dts file should use the assigned-clocks/assigned-clock-parents method,
so simply remove the configuration of IMX7D_ENET_AXI_ROOT_SRC parent.

It's always nice to see families reunited, and this is equally true when
talking about parent clocks and their children. However, if the orphan
clk had a positive prepare_count or enable_count, then we would not
migrate those counts up the parent chain correctly.
This has manifested with the recent critical clocks feature, which often
enables clocks very early, before their parents have been registered.
Fixed by replacing the call to clk_core_reparent with calls to
__clk_set_parent_{before,after}.

According to the datasheet, SDn clocks are from the SDSRC clock. And
the SDSRC has a 1/2 divider. So, we should have ".sdsrc" as an internal
core clock. Otherwise, since the sdhi driver will calculate clock for
a sd card using the wrong parent clock rate, and then performance will
be not good.

Merge tag 'ux500-cleanup-bundle' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-stericsson into next/drivers
Merge "Ux500 cleanups from Arnd" from Linus Walleij:
This is a set of cleanups for the Ux500 that reduce the number
of machine-local files and boardfile-type data for regulators
and ASoC.
* tag 'ux500-cleanup-bundle' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-stericsson:
ARM: ux500: consolidate base platform files
ARM: ux500: move soc_id driver to drivers/soc
ARM: ux500: call ux500_setup_id later
ARM: ux500: consolidate soc_device code in id.c
ARM: ux500: remove cpu_is_u* helpers
ARM: ux500: use CLK_OF_DECLARE()
ARM: ux500: move l2x0 init to .init_irq
mfd: db8500 stop passing around platform data
ASoC: ab8500-codec: remove platform data based probe
ARM: ux500: move ab8500_regulator_plat_data into driver
ARM: ux500: remove unused regulator data
Any clock dependencies can be properly handled with deferred probing
so we can remove core_initcall and switch to a proper loadable platform
driver module.
This change has been tested on Exynos4412 Odroid U3 based board.

All device trees currently in mainline specify the time clock parent
using the assigned-clocks/assigned-clock-parents method, there is no
need to statically assign the parent in the core clock driver.
Also all current boards provide an Ethernet reference clock for the
PHY externally, hence configuring the internal PHY reference clock.
Furthermore, and the actual driver of this patch, specify ethernet
related parents at that early point in boot leads to a warning:
bad: scheduling from the idle thread!
The reason for the warning is that setting the parent enables the ENET
PLL since we are using CLK_OPS_PARENT_ENABLE. Enabling the ENET PLL can
cause clk_pllv3_wait_lock to sleep. See also:
commit fc8726a2c0 ("clk: core: support clocks which requires parents
enable (part 2)").
Note that setting the ENET AXI root clock parent also requires ENET
PLL to be enabled. However, U-Boot typically leaves the ENET PLL on,
hence when the framework sets the parent of the first clock, it does
not need to wait for the PLL to come up. But because there is currently
no user of that clock, the PLL gets disabled after setting the parent.
Therefore, subsequent reparenting calls of any clock which somehow rely
on the ENET PLL, need to reenable the ENET PLL which leads to a sleep.
Removing those subsequent reparenting calls works around this issue.
Also remove comments. The code is really verbose enough.

directly into the clk driver from platform code.

similar to how modern platforms do it today. It also removes the

In order to allow wake support in STOP sleep mode, clocks are needed. Use
imx_clk_gate2_cgr to disable automatic clock gating in low power mode STOP.
This allows to enable wake by UART using:

Hence none of these are being built as a module by anyone.
Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that
when reading the drivers there is no doubt they are builtin-only. All
drivers get mostly the same changes, so they are handled in batch.
Changes are (1) convert to builtin_platform_register, (2) use the
init.h header, (3) delete the MODULE_LICENCE/MODULE_AUTHOR and
associated tags, and (4) delete any ".remove" functions.
There was a stray module.h in a file not using any init.h or
module.h stuff, so we simply removed that one.
In two cases, we explicitly disallow a driver unbind, since that
doesn't have a sensible use case anyway, and it allows us to drop
the ".remove" code for non-modular drivers.
Since module_platform_driver() uses the same init level priority as
builtin_platform_driver() the init ordering remains unchanged with
this commit.
We delete the MODULE_LICENSE etc. tags since all that information
is already contained at the top of each file in the comments.

This adds the EBI2 2X and EBI2 clocks to the MSM8660/APQ8060
GCC. This is necessary to enable clocking of the external bus
interface so that peripherals on it can be mounted. These two
clocks are simple gated branch clocks.
In the vendor tree clock-8x60, these clocks have some kind of
dependency, the EBI2 clock has .depends = &ebi2_2x_clk.c,
what this means is undocumented, it doesn't seem like there
is a parent/child relationship, so the solution I chose was to
just have the EBI2 driver get and enable both clocks.

Formerly clk core does not support imx7d clock type well that all
its clock operations requires the parent clock on.
Therefore we enabled all clocks by default in clock driver
initialization for other module clocks operate well.
After patch 'clk: imx7d: using api with flag CLK_OPS_PARENT_ENABLE',
clk core can handle such clock type well, so we don't have to enable
them all by default anymore. Instead, we only enable a minimum required
set of clocks.

[sboyd@codeaurora.org: Move set_rate tracepoint after prepare_enable]
Signed-off-by: Stephen Boyd <sboyd@codeaurora.org>
On Freescale i.MX7D platform, all clocks operations, including
enable/disable, rate change and re-parent, requires its parent
clock enable. Current clock core can not support it well.
This patch introduce a new flag CLK_OPS_PARENT_ENABLE to handle this
special case in clock core that enable its parent clock firstly for
each operation and disable it later after operation complete.
The patch part 1 fixes the possible disabling clocks while its parent
is off during kernel booting phase in clk_disable_unused_subtree().
Before the completion of kernel booting, clock tree is still not built
completely, there may be a case that the child clock is on but its
parent is off which could be caused by either HW initial reset state
or bootloader initialization.
Taking bootloader as an example, we may enable all clocks in HW by default.
And during kernel booting time, the parent clock could be disabled in its
driver probe due to calling clk_prepare_enable and clk_disable_unprepare.
Because it's child clock is only enabled in HW while its SW usecount
in clock tree is still 0, so clk_disable of parent clock will gate
the parent clock in both HW and SW usecount ultimately. Then there will
be a child clock is still on in HW but its parent is already off.
Later in clk_disable_unused(), this clock disable accessing while its
parent off will cause system hang due to the limitation of HW which
must require its parent on.
This patch simply enables the parent clock first before disabling
if flag CLK_OPS_PARENT_ENABLE is set in clk_disable_unused_subtree().
This is a simple solution and only affects booting time.
After kernel booting up the clock tree is already created, there will
be no case that child is off but its parent is off.
So no need do this checking for normal clk_disable() later.

No function level change, just moving code place.
clk_disable_unused function will need to call clk_core_prepare_enable/
clk_core_disable_unprepare when adding CLK_OPS_PARENT_ENABLE features.
So move it after clk_core_disable_unprepare to avoid adding forward
declared functions later.

This can be useful when clock core wants to enable/disable clocks.
Then we don't have to convert the struct clk_core to struct clk to call
clk_enable/clk_disable which is a bit un-align with exist using.
And after introduce clk_core_{enable|disable}_lock, we can refine
clk_enable and clk_disable a bit.
As well as clk_core_{enable|disable}_lock, we also added
clk_core_{prepare|unprepare}_lock and clk_core_prepare_enable/
clk_core_unprepare_disable for clock core to easily use.

Move the UTMI PLL initialization code form clk-tegra<chip>.c files into
clk-pll.c. UTMI PLL was being configured and set in HW control right
after registration. However, when the clock init_table is processed and
child clks of PLLU are enabled, it will call in and enable PLLU as
well, and initiate SW enabling sequence even though PLLU is already in
HW control. This leads to getting UTMIPLL stuck with a SEQ_BUSY status.
Doing the initialization once during pllu_enable means we configure it
properly into HW control.
A side effect of the commonization/localization of the UTMI PLL init
code, is that it corrects some errors that were present for earlier
generations. For instance, in clk-tegra124.c, it used to have:
#define UTMIP_PLL_CFG1_ENABLE_DLY_COUNT(x) (((x) & 0x1f) << 6)
when the correct shift to use is present in the new version:
#define UTMIP_PLL_CFG1_ENABLE_DLY_COUNT(x) (((x) & 0x1f) << 27)
which matches the Tegra124 TRM register definition.

The timer clock feeds the timer block, which, among other things, is
used to drive the SOR lane sequencer. Since the Tegra timer driver is
not enabled on 64-bit ARM, nothing currently claims that clock and it
gets disabled by the common clock framework at late_init time.
Given the non-obvious dependencies, the timer clock can be considered
a critical part of the SoC infrastructure, requiring its clock source
to be always on.

PLL clock on WM8650 is calculated in the following way:
M * parent [O1] => / P [O2] => / D [O3]
Where O2 is 600MHz >= (M * parent) / P >= 300MHz.
Current algorithm does not met this requirement, so that the
function may return rates which are not supported by the hardware.
This patch fixes the algorithm and simplifies the code, reducing
the calculation time by ~10000 times (according to usermode app) by
removing the nested loops.

CLK_SET_RATE_PARENT flag isn't set, the code will not make sure that the
multiplier computed remains within the boundaries of our clock.
This means that if the clock we want to reach is below the parent rate,
or if the multiplier is above the maximum that we can reach, we will end up
with a completely bogus one that the clock cannot achieve.

Make the sor1 and sor1_src clocks available on Tegra210. They will be
used by the display driver to support HDMI and DP.
Signed-off-by: Thierry Reding <treding@nvidia.com>
The sor1 clock on Tegra210 is structured in the following way:
+-------+
| pllp |---+
+-------+ | +--------------+ +-----------+
+----| | | sor_safe |
+-------+ | | +-----------+
| plld |--------| | |
+-------+ | | +-----------+
| sor1_src |-------| |
+-------+ | | +-----------+
| plld2 |--------| | |
+-------+ | | |
+----| | |
+-------+ | +--------------+ |
| clkm |---+ +-----------+
+-------+ +--------------+
| sor1_brick |-------| sor1 |
+--------------+ | |
+-----------+
This is impractical to represent in a clock tree, though, because there
is no name for the mux that has sor_safe and sor1_src as parents. It is
also much more cumbersome to deal with the additional mux because users
of these clocks (the display driver) would have to juggle with an extra
mux for no real reason.
To simply things, the above is squashed into two muxes instead, so that
it looks like this:
+-------+
| pllp |---+
+-------+ | +--------------+ +-----------+
+----| | | sor_safe |
+-------+ | | +-----------+
| plld |--------| | |
+-------+ | | +-----------+
| sor1_src |-------| sor1 |
+-------+ | | +-----------+
| plld2 |--------| | | |
+-------+ | | | |
+----| | | |
+-------+ | +--------------+
| clkm |---+ | |
+-------+ +--------------+
| sor1_brick |-----------+---+
+--------------+
This still very accurately represents the hardware. Note that sor1 has
sor1_brick as input twice, that's because bit 1 in the mux selects the
sor1_brick irrespective of bit 0.

The audio/video PLL's rate calculation is as below in RM:
Fref * (DIV_SELECT + NUM / DENOM), in origin clk-pllv3's
code, below code is used:
(parent_rate * div) + ((parent_rate / mfd) * mfn
as it does NOT consider the float data using div, so below
formula should be used as a decent method:
(parent_rate * div) + ((parent_rate * mfn) / mfd)
and we also need to consider parent_rate * mfd may overflow
a 32 bit value, 64 bit value should be used.
After updating this formula, the dram PLL's rate is
1066MHz, which is correct, while the old formula gets

be used theoretically in certain attacks (by triggering NULL pointer
exception or memory corruption if driver does not provide proper remove
callbacks or core does not handle it).
Samsung clock drivers are essential for system operation so their
removal is not expected. More over, the Exynos3250 ISP clock driver does
not implement remove() driver callback and it is not buildable as

Like rk3288, the pclk supplying the watchdog is controlled via the
SGRF register area. Additionally the SGRF isn't even writable in
every boot mode.
But still the clock control is available and in the future someone
might want to use it. Therefore define a simple clock for the time
being so that the watchdog driver can read its rate.

This reverts commit 7a03fe6f48 ("clk: rockchip: reset init state
before mmc card initialization").
Though not totally obvious from the commit message nor from the source
code, that commit appears to be trying to reset the "_drv" MMC clocks to
90 degrees (note that the "_sample" MMC clocks have a shift of 0 so are
not touched).
The major problem here is that it doesn't properly reset things. The
phase is a two bit field and the commit only touches one of the two
bits. Thus the commit had the following affect:
- phase 0 => phase 90
- phase 90 => phase 90
- phase 180 => phase 270
- phase 270 => phase 270
Things get even weirder if you happen to have a bootloader that was
actually using delay elements (should be no reason to, but you never
know), since those are additional bits that weren't touched by the
original patch.
This is unlikely to be what we actually want. Checking on rk3288-veyron
devices, I can see that the bootloader leaves these clocks as:
- emmc: phase 180
- sdmmc: phase 90
- sdio0: phase 90
Thus on rk3288-veyron devices the commit we're reverting had the effect
of changing the eMMC clock to phase 270. This probably explains the
scattered reports I've heard of eMMC devices not working on some veyron
devices when using the upstream kernel.
The original commit was presumably made because previously the kernel
didn't touch the "_drv" phase at all and relied on whatever value was
there when the kernel started. If someone was using a bootloader that
touched the "_drv" phase then, indeed, we should have code in the kernel
to fix that. ...and also, to get ideal timings, we should also have the
kernel change the phase depending on the speed mode. In fact, that's
the subject of a recent patch I posted at
<https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/9075141/>.
Ideally, we should take both the patch posted to dw_mmc and this
revert. Since those will likely go through different trees, here I
describe behavior with the combos:
1. Just this revert: likely will fix rk3288-veyron eMMC on some devices
+ other cases; might break someone with a strange bootloader that
sets the phase to 0 or one that uses delay elements (pretty
unpredicable what would happen in that case).
2. Just dw_mmc patch: fixes everyone. Effectly the dw_mmc patch will
totally override the broken patch and fix everything.
3. Both patches: fixes everyone. Once dw_mmc is initting properly then
any defaults from the clock code doesn't mattery.

Most users of IS_ERR_VALUE() in the kernel are wrong, as they
pass an 'int' into a function that takes an 'unsigned long'
argument. This happens to work because the type is sign-extended
on 64-bit architectures before it gets converted into an
unsigned type.
However, anything that passes an 'unsigned short' or 'unsigned int'
argument into IS_ERR_VALUE() is guaranteed to be broken, as are
8-bit integers and types that are wider than 'unsigned long'.
Andrzej Hajda has already fixed a lot of the worst abusers that
were causing actual bugs, but it would be nice to prevent any
users that are not passing 'unsigned long' arguments.
This patch changes all users of IS_ERR_VALUE() that I could find
on 32-bit ARM randconfig builds and x86 allmodconfig. For the
moment, this doesn't change the definition of IS_ERR_VALUE()
because there are probably still architecture specific users
elsewhere.
Almost all the warnings I got are for files that are better off
using 'if (err)' or 'if (err < 0)'.
The only legitimate user I could find that we get a warning for
is the (32-bit only) freescale fman driver, so I did not remove
the IS_ERR_VALUE() there but changed the type to 'unsigned long'.
For 9pfs, I just worked around one user whose calling conventions
are so obscure that I did not dare change the behavior.
I was using this definition for testing:
#define IS_ERR_VALUE(x) ((unsigned long*)NULL == (typeof (x)*)NULL && \
unlikely((unsigned long long)(x) >= (unsigned long long)(typeof(x))-MAX_ERRNO))
which ends up making all 16-bit or wider types work correctly with
the most plausible interpretation of what IS_ERR_VALUE() was supposed
to return according to its users, but also causes a compile-time
warning for any users that do not pass an 'unsigned long' argument.
I suggested this approach earlier this year, but back then we ended
up deciding to just fix the users that are obviously broken. After
the initial warning that caused me to get involved in the discussion
(fs/gfs2/dir.c) showed up again in the mainline kernel, Linus
asked me to send the whole thing again.

This set of changes introduces an atomic API to the PWM subsystem. This
is influenced by the DRM atomic API that was introduced a while back,
though it is obviously a lot simpler. The fundamental idea remains the
same, though: drivers provide a single callback to implement the atomic
configuration of a PWM channel.
As a side-effect the PWM subsystem gains the ability for initial state
retrieval, so that the logical state mirrors that of the hardware. Many
use-cases don't care about this, but for others it is essential.
These new features require changes in all users, which these patches
take care of. The core is transitioned to use the atomic callback if
available and provides a fallback mechanism for other drivers.
Changes to transition users and drivers to the atomic API are postponed
to v4.8.

these clks should stay enabled).
- A clk registration API has been added, clk_hw_register(), and
an OF clk provider API has been added, of_clk_add_hw_provider().
These APIs have been put in place to further split clk providers
from clk consumers, with the goal being to have clk providers
never deal with struct clk pointers at all. Conversion of provider

Merge tag 'clk-for-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/clk/linux
Pull clk updates from Stephen Boyd:
"It's the usual big pile of driver updates and additions, but we do
have a couple core changes in here as well.
Core:
- CLK_IS_CRITICAL support has been added. This should allow drivers
to properly express that a certain clk should stay on even if their
prepare/enable count drops to 0 (and in turn the parents of these
clks should stay enabled).
- A clk registration API has been added, clk_hw_register(), and an OF
clk provider API has been added, of_clk_add_hw_provider(). These
APIs have been put in place to further split clk providers from clk
consumers, with the goal being to have clk providers never deal
with struct clk pointers at all. Conversion of provider drivers is
on going. clkdev has also gained support for registering clk_hw
pointers directly so we can convert drivers that don't use
devicetree.
New Drivers:
- Marvell ap806 and cp110 system controllers (with clks inside!)
- Hisilicon Hi3519 clock and reset controller
- Axis ARTPEC-6 clock controllers
- Oxford Semiconductor OXNAS clock controllers
- AXS10X I2S PLL
- Rockchip RK3399 clock and reset controller
Updates:
- MMC2 and UART2 clks on Samsung Exynos 3250, ACLK on Samsung Exynos
542x SoCs, and some more clk ID exporting for bus frequency scaling
- Proper BCM2835 PCM clk support and various other clks
- i.MX clk updates for i.MX6SX, i.MX7, and VF610
- Renesas updates for R-Car H3
- Tegra210 got updates for DisplayPort and HDMI 2.0
- Rockchip driver refactorings and fixes due to adding RK3399 support"

The critical clock handling in __clk_core_init isn't taking the enable lock
before calling clk_core_enable, which in turns triggers the warning in the
lockdep_assert_held call in that function when lockep is enabled.
Add the calls to clk_enable_lock/unlock to make sure it doesn't happen.

Driver updates for ARM SoCs, these contain various things that touch
the drivers/ directory but got merged through arm-soc for practical
reasons. For the most part, this is now related to power management
controllers, which have not yet been abstracted into a separate
subsystem, and typically require some code in drivers/soc or arch/arm
to control the power domains.
Another large chunk here is a rework of the NVIDIA Tegra USB3.0
support, which was surprisingly tricky and took a long time to
get done.
Finally, reset controller handling as always gets merged through here
as well.

The PWM framework has clarified the concept of reference PWM config (the
platform dependent config retrieved from the DT or the PWM lookup table)
and real PWM state.
Use pwm_get_args() when the PWM user wants to retrieve this reference
config and not the current state.
This is part of the rework allowing the PWM framework to support
hardware readout and expose real PWM state even when the PWM has just
been requested (before the user calls pwm_config/enable/disable()).

The branch clocks MMSS_MMAGIC_AXI_CLK and MMAGIC_BIMC_AXI_CLK are
controlled by RPM when the APPs processor enable or disable the
RPM_MMAXI_CLK.
During the boot sequence, someone can enable the RPM_MMAXI_CLK, resulting
in register status bits showing that these clocks are enabled, our
clock driver may look at the enabled status of these clocks and try to
disable them since it thinks they are unused.
Don't make the clock driver touch these clocks.

Previously when everything happened in the set_rate callbacks itself we
needed the old_rate value for the possible rate rollback, so that made
it easy to also use it in the debug output.
Now with the param-handling being done in separate functions, reading and
recalculating the current pll rate only to use it in a debug message that
won't get displayed in regular cases anyway is quite a waste.
Therefore drop that value from the debug output. In the worst case that
previous rate will have been displayed on the rate change before.

With the previous commit, the clock drivers now know at init time if the
GRF regmap is available. That means if it isn't available then, it also
won't become available later and we can therefore switch PLLs, that need
the GRF for the lock-status, to read-only mode - similar behaviour as the
aborting of rate changes we did before.
This saves some conditionals on every rate change and we can also drop
the rockchip_clk_get_grf function completely.
Signed-off-by: Heiko Stuebner <heiko@sntech.de>
In the distant past syscons were initialized pretty late and weren't
available at the time the clock init ran. As the GRF is mainly needed
for PLL lock-status checking, we had this lazy init that tried to grab
the syscon on PLL rate changes and denied these changes if it was not
available.
These days syscons are available very early and recent addition to
rockchip clocks, like the PLL clk_init actually also rely on them
being available at that time, so there is no need to keep that lazy
init around, as it will also result in some more simplifications in
other parts of the clock-code.

The Armada CP110 system controller provides, amongst other things, a
number of clocks for the platform: a small number of core clocks, and
then a number of gatable clocks, derived from some of the core
clocks. Those clocks are configured via registers of the CP110 System
Controller.

The Armada AP806 system controller, amongst other things, provides a
number of clocks for the platform: the CPU cluster clocks, whose
frequencies are found by reading the Sample At Reset register, one
fixed clock, and another clock derived from the fixed clock, which is
the one used by most peripherals in AP806.
