The IDs of ACPI device nodes stored in their pnp.ids member arrays
are sorted by decreasing priority (i.e. the highest-priority ID is
the first entry). This means that when matching scan handlers to
device nodes, the namespace scanning code should walk the list of
scan handlers for each device node ID instead of walking the list
of device node IDs for each handler (the latter causes the first
handler matching any of the device node IDs to be chosen, although
there may be another handler matching an ID of a higher priority
which should be preferred). Make the code follow this observation.
This change has been suggested and justified by Toshi Kani.

Currently, the ACPI namespace scanning code creates platform device
objects for ACPI device nodes whose IDs match the contents of the
acpi_platform_device_ids[] table. However, this adds a superfluous
special case into acpi_bus_device_attach() and makes it more
difficult to follow than it has to be. It also will make it more
difficult to implement removal code for those platform device objects
in the future.
For the above reasons, introduce a struct acpi_scan_handler object
for creating platform devices and move the code related to that from
acpi_bus_device_attach() to the .attach() callback of that object.

Introduce struct acpi_scan_handler for representing objects that
will do configuration tasks depending on ACPI device nodes'
hardware IDs (HIDs).
Currently, those tasks are done either directly by the ACPI namespace
scanning code or by ACPI device drivers designed specifically for
this purpose. None of the above is desirable, however, because
doing that directly in the namespace scanning code makes that code
overly complicated and difficult to follow and doing that in
"special" device drivers leads to a great deal of confusion about
their role and to confusing interactions with the driver core (for
example, sysfs directories are created for those drivers, but they
are completely unnecessary and only increase the kernel's memory
footprint in vain).

During system resume we check if there are power resources that have
been turned off by the BIOS, but our reference counters for them
are nonzero (they need to be turned on then). It turns out, however,
that we also need to check the opposite, i.e. if there are power
resources that have been turned on by the BIOS, but our reference
counters for them are zero (which means that no devices are going
to need them any time soon) and we should turn them off.
Make the power resources resume code do the additional check and

Since ACPI power resources are going to be used more extensively on
new hardware platforms, it is necessary to allow user space (powertop
in particular) to look at the lists of power resources corresponding
to different power states of devices for diagnostics and control
purposes.
For this reason, for each power state of an ACPI device node using
power resources create a special attribute group under the device
node's directory in sysfs containing links to sysfs directories
representing the power resources in that list. The names of the
new attribute groups are "power_resources_<state>", where <state>
is the state name i.e. "D0", "D1", "D2", or "D3hot".

btrfs_start_delalloc_inodes() locks the delalloc_inodes list, fetches the
first inode, unlocks the list, triggers btrfs_alloc_delalloc_work/
btrfs_queue_worker for this inode, and then it locks the list, checks the
head of the list again. But because we don't delete the first inode that it
deals with before, it will fetch the same inode. As a result, this function

First, though the current transaction->aborted check can stop the commit early
and avoid unnecessary operations, it is too early, and some transaction handles
don't end, those handles may set transaction->aborted after the check.
Second, when we commit the transaction, we will wake up some worker threads to
flush the space cache and inode cache. Those threads also allocate some transaction
handles and may set transaction->aborted if some serious error happens.
So we need more check for ->aborted when committing the transaction. Fix it.

make sure and check if we've moved on to another extent so that the csums
are added to the right extent. Without this we could end up with csums for

For compressed extents, the range of checksum is covered by disk length,
and the disk length is different with ram length, so we need to use disk
length instead to get us the right checksum.

A user reported a BUG_ON(ret) that occured during tree log replay. Ret was
-EAGAIN, so what I think happened is that we removed an extent that covered
a bitmap entry and an extent entry. We remove the part from the bitmap and
return -EAGAIN and then search for the next piece we want to remove, which
happens to be an entire extent entry, so we just free the sucker and return.
The problem is ret is still set to -EAGAIN so we trip the BUG_ON(). The
user used btrfs-zero-log so I'm not 100% sure this is what happened so I've
added a WARN_ON() to catch the other possibility. Thanks,

We drop the extent map tree lock while we're logging extents, so somebody
could come in and merge another extent into this one and screw up our
logging, or they could even remove us from the list which would keep us from
logging the extent or freeing our ref on it, so we need to make sure to not
clear LOGGING until after the extent is logged, and then we can merge it to
adjacent extents. Thanks,

From Pawel Moll:
- makes the V2P-CA15_A7 (a.k.a. TC2) work with 3.8 kernels
- improves vexpress-sysreg.c behaviour on arm64 platforms
* 'vexpress/fixes' of git://git.linaro.org/people/pawelmoll/linux:
mfd: vexpress-sysreg: Don't skip initialization on probe
ARM: vexpress: Enable A7 cores in V2P-CA15_A7's Device Tree
ARM: vexpress: extend the MPIDR range used for pen release check
One RM9200 setup option is the only C code change.
Some documentation changes can clarify the pinctrl use.
Then, some defconfig modifications are allowing the affected platforms
to boot.

Here are fixes for AT91 that are mainly related to device tree.
One RM9200 setup option is the only C code change.
Some documentation changes can clarify the pinctrl use.
Then, some defconfig modifications are allowing the affected platforms

ARM: at91/at91_dt_defconfig: remove memory specification to cmdline

ARM: at91/at91sam9x5 DTS: correct wrong PIO BANK values on u(s)arts

The vexpress-sysreg driver does not have to be initialized
early, when the platform doesn't require this. Unfortunately
in such case it wasn't initialized correctly - master site
lookup and config bridge registration were missing. Fixed now.

As the kernel is able to cope with multiple clusters,
uncomment the A7 cores in the Device Tree for V2P-CA15_A7

In ARM multi-cluster systems the MPIDR affinity level 0 cannot be used as a
single cpu identifier, affinity levels 1 and 2 must be taken into account as
well.
This patch extends the MPIDR usage to affinity levels 1 and 2 in versatile
secondary cores start up code in order to compare the passed pen_release
value with the full-blown affinity mask.

Since ACPI power resources are going to be used more extensively on
new hardware platforms, it becomes necessary for user space (powertop
in particular) to observe some properties of those resources for
diagnostics purposes.
For this reason, expose the current status of each ACPI power
resource to user space via sysfs by adding a new resource_in_use
attribute to the sysfs directory representing the given power
resource.

Make it possible to retrieve the current power state of a device with
ACPI power management from user space via sysfs by adding two new
attributes, power_state and real_power_state, to the sysfs directory
associated with the struct acpi_device object representing the
device's ACPI node.

ACPI core adds sysfs device files after the given devices have been
registered with device_register(), which is not appropriate, because
it may lead to race conditions with user space tools using those
files.
Fix the problem by delaying the KOBJ_ADD uevent for ACPI devices
until after all of the devices' sysfs files have been created.
This also fixes a use-after-free in acpi_device_unregister().
