eb3d3ec567 Merge branch 'for-linus' of git://ftp.arm.linux.org.uk/~rmk/linux-arm into next
Pull ARM updates from Russell King:

 - Major clean-up of the L2 cache support code. The existing mess was
becoming rather unmaintainable through all the additions that others
have done over time. This turns it into a much nicer structure, and
implements a few performance improvements as well.

 - Clean up some of the CP15 control register tweaks for alignment
support, moving some code and data into alignment.c

 - DMA properties for ARM, from Santosh and reviewed by DT people. This
adds DT properties to specify bus translations we can't discover
automatically, and to indicate whether devices are coherent.

 - Hibernation support for ARM

 - Make ftrace work with read-only text in modules

 - add suspend support for PJ4B CPUs

 - rework interrupt masking for undefined instruction handling, which
allows us to enable interrupts earlier in the handling of these
   exceptions.

 - support for big endian page tables

 - fix stacktrace support to exclude stacktrace functions from the
trace, and add save_stack_trace_regs() implementation so that kprobes
   can record stack traces.

 - Add support for the Cortex-A17 CPU.

 - Remove last vestiges of ARM710 support.

 - Removal of ARM "meminfo" structure, finally converting us solely to
memblock to handle the early memory initialisation.

825f4e0271 ARM: SoC updates for 3.16 (part 1)
A quite large set of SoC updates this cycle. In no particular order:

 - Multi-cluster power management for Samsung Exynos, adding support for
   big.LITTLE CPU switching on EXYNOS5
 - SMP support for Marvell Armada 375 and 38x
 - SMP rework on Allwinner A31
 - Xilinx Zynq support for SOC_BUS, big endian
 - Marvell orion5x platform cleanup, modernizing the implementation and
   moving to DT.
 - _Finally_ moving Samsung Exynos over to support MULTIPLATFORM, so
that their platform can be enabled in the same kernel binary as most
of the other v7 platforms in the tree. \o/ The work isn't quite complete,
there's some driver fixes still needed, but the basics now work.

 New SoC support added:
 - Freescale i.MX6SX
 - LSI Axxia AXM55xx SoCs
 - Samsung EXYNOS 3250, 5260, 5410, 5420 and 5800
 - STi STIH407

Plus a large set of various smaller updates for different platforms. I'm
probably missing some important one here.

b9f71aad7c ARM: l2c: imx vf610: convert to generic l2c OF initialisation

irqchip_init(), we can remove that too as the generic code will take
care of that.

f9f28cdf21 ARM: imx: add shared gate clock support
It's quite common on i.MX that one gate bit controls the gating of
multiple clocks, i.e. this is a shared gate. The patch adds the
function imx_clk_gate2_shared() for such case. The clocks controlled
by the same gate bits should call this function with a pointer to a
single share count variable, so that the gate bits will only be
operated on the first enabling and the last disabling of these shared
gate clocks.

Thanks to Gerhard Sittig <gsi@denx.de> for this idea.

54ee1471f8 ARM: imx: define struct clk_gate2 on our own
The imx clk-gate2 driver implements an i.MX specific gate clock, which
has two bits controlling the gate states. While this is a completely
separate gate driver from the common clk-gate one, it reuses the common
clk_gate structure. Such reusing makes the extending of clk_gate2
clumsy. Let's define struct clk_gate2 on our own to make the driver
independent of the common clk-gate one, and ease the clk_gate2 extending
at a later time.

The suspend-imx6.S is introduced recently for suspend low-level assembly

Booting a mx6q system built with multi_v7_defconfig leads to the following

[ 0.037768] imx6_pm_common_init: failed to initialize ocram suspend -19!

This happens because CONFIG_SRAM is not selected by default in
multi_v7_defconfig.

Fix this by selecting CONFIG_SRAM at ARCH_MXC level, so that other SoCs could
use the SRAM driver as well.

As SRAM automatically selects GENERIC_ALLOCATOR, just drop it from the Kconfig

810c0ca879 ARM: imx6q: support ptp and rmii clock from pad
On imx6qdl, the ENET RMII and PTP clock can come from either internal
ANATOP/CCM or external clock source through pad GPIO_16. But in case

The patch adds the support for systems that use an external clock source
and distinguishes above two cases by checking if the PTP clock specified
in device tree is the one coming from the internal ANATOP/CCM.

df595746fa ARM: imx: add suspend in ocram support for i.mx6q
When system enter suspend, we can set the DDR IO to
high-Z state to save DDR IOs' power consumption, this
operation can save many power(from ~26mA@1.5V to ~15mA@1.5V,
measured on i.MX6Q SabreSD board, R25) of DDR IOs. To
achieve that, we need to copy the suspend code to ocram
and run the low level hardware related code(set DDR IOs
to high-Z state) in ocram.

If there is no ocram space available, then system will
still do suspend in external DDR, hence no DDR IOs will
be set to high-Z.

The OCRAM usage layout is as below,

e7c57ecd60 ARM: imx6: Initialize low-power mode early again
Since commit 9e8147bb5e
"ARM: imx6q: move low-power code out of clock driver"
the kernel fails to boot on i.MX6Q/D if preemption is
enabled (CONFIG_PREEMPT=y). The kernel just hangs
before the console comes up.

The above commit moved the initalization of the low-power
mode setting (enabling clocked WAIT states), which was
introduced in commit 83ae20981a
"ARM: imx: correct low-power mode setting", from
imx6q_clks_init to imx6q_pm_init. Now it is called
much later, after all cores are enabled.

This patch moves the low-power mode initialization back
to imx6q_clks_init again (and to imx6sl_clks_init).

f2c73464d7 ARM: SoC cleanups for 3.14
This is the branch where we usually queue up cleanup efforts, moving

 strictly to cleanups.

Some of the things included in this branch are:

 * Atmel SAMA5 conversion to common clock
 * Reset framework conversion for tegra platforms
  - Some of this depends on tegra clock driver reworks that are shared with Mike
    Turquette's clk tree.
 * Tegra DMA refactoring, which are shared branches with the DMA tree.

warning: (ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM && ARCH_CLPS711X && ARCH_PXA &&

This is because it's possible to have ZBOOT_ROM enabled, but at the

48c9584111 ARM: imx: improve the comment of CCM lpm SW workaround
Improve the comment of SW workaround for CCM lpm issue using
hardware errata description to avoid confusion.

ERR007265: CCM: When improper low-power sequence is used, the SoC
enters low power mode before the ARM core executes WFI.

Software workaround:
1) Software should trigger IRQ #32 (IOMUX) to be always pending
   by setting IOMUX_GPR1_GINT.
2) Software should then unmask IRQ #32 in GPC before setting CCM
   Low-Power mode.
3) Software should mask IRQ #32 right after CCM Low-Power mode is
set (set bits 0-1 of CCM_CLPCR).

Common clk framework will disable unused clks in late init only if

bc3b84da8a ARM: imx: pllv3 needs relock in .set_rate() call
The pllv3 nees relock not only when powering up but also when rate
changes. The patch creates a helper function clk_pllv3_wait_lock() and
moves the relock code from clk_pllv3_prepare() into there, so that
both .prepare() and .set_rate() hooks of pllv3 can call into the helper
for relocking.

Since relock is only needed when PLL is powered up while clk_set_rate()
could be called before clk is prepared, we need to add a check in
clk_pllv3_wait_lock() to skip the relock if PLL is not powered.

5d48217210 ARM: imx: v7_cpu_resume() is needed by imx6sl build
Building a kernel with the following options,

we will see the build error below.

b6e23bb63f ARM: imx: remove imx_src_prepare_restart() call
There is ~10% possibility that the following emergency restart command
fails to reboot imx6q.

$ echo b > /proc/sysrq-trigger

The IMX restart routine mxc_restart() assumes that it will always run on
primary core, and will call imx_src_prepare_restart() to disable
secondary cores in order to get them come to online in the following
boot. However, the assumption is only true for normal kernel_restart()
case where migrate_to_reboot_cpu() will be called to migrate to primary
core, but not necessarily true for emergency_restart() case. So when
emergency_restart() calls into mxc_restart() on any secondary core,
system will hang immediately once imx_src_prepare_restart() is called
to disabled secondary cores. Since emergency_restart() is defined as a
function that is safe to call in interrupt context, we cannot just call
migrate_to_reboot_cpu() to fix the issue.

Fortunately, we just found that the issue can be fixed at imx6q platform
level. We used to call imx_src_prepare_restart() to disable all
secondary cores before resetting hardware. Otherwise, the secondary
will fail come to online in the reboot. However, we recently found that
after commit 6050d18 (ARM: imx: reset core along with enable/disable
operation) comes to play, we do not need to reset the secondary cores
any more. That said, mxc_restart() now can run on any core to reboot
the system, as long as we remove the imx_src_prepare_restart() call from
mxc_restart().

So let's simply remove imx_src_prepare_restart() call to fix the above
emergency restart failure.

d48866fefd ARM: imx: ensure dsm_request signal is not asserted when setting LPM
There is a defect in imx6 LPM design. When SW tries to enter low power
mode with following sequence, the chip will enter low power mode before
A9 CPU execute WFI instruction:

1. Set CCM_CLPCR[1:0] to 2'b00;
2. ARM CPU enters WFI;
3. ARM CPU wakeup from an interrupt event, which is masked by GPC or not
   visible to GPC, such as interrupt from local timer;
4. Set CCM_CLPCR[1:0] to 2'b01 or 2'b10;
5. ARM CPU execute WFI.

Before the last step, the chip will enter WAIT mode if CCM_CLPCR[1:0] is
set to 2'b01, or enter STOP mode if CCM_CLPCR[1:0] is set to 2'b10.

The patch implements a recommended workaround for this issue.

1. SW triggers irq #32(IOMUX) to be always pending manually by setting
   IOMUX_GPR1_GINT bit;
2. SW should then unmask it in GPC before setting CCM LPM;
3. SW should mask it right after CCM LPM is set (bit0-1 of CCM_CLPCR).

1d674a73c5 ARM: imx6q: call WB and RBC configuration from imx6q_pm_enter()
The WB and RBC configuration calls are currently made from
imx6q_set_lpm() for WAIT_CLOCKED and WAIT_UNCLOCKED mode with a simple
state tracking. This becomes unnecessary since we can make the calls
from imx6q_pm_enter() directly now for suspend.

More importantly, the current call of imx6q_enable_wb() from
imx6q_set_lpm() is buggy. The CLPCR register bits configured by
imx6q_enable_wb() will get lost, because imx6q_set_lpm() caches the same
register and write it back at the end of the function. That's why the
imx6dl suspend/resume does not work currently - the wakeup from suspend
triggers a reset on imx6dl.

Moves the WB and RBC calls into imx6q_pm_enter() to save the state
tracking and fixes above bug, so that suspend/resume can start working
on imx6dl.

In order to avoid adding another ioremap for CCM block,
imx6q_pm_set_ccm_base() is created to let clock driver set up ccm_base
for pm code.

During the move, the unused CCGR macros get removed.

87a84b6982 ARM: imx: replace imx6q_restart() with mxc_restart()
The imx6q_restart() works fine with normal reboot but will run into
problem with emergency reboot like sysrq-b. In that case, of_iomap()
gets called from interrupt context and hence triggers the BUG_ON in
__get_vm_area_node().

Actually, since commit c1e31d1 (ARM: imx: create
mxc_arch_reset_init_dt() for DT boot), imx6q/dl should try to use
mxc_restart() by calling mxc_arch_reset_init_dt() beforehand, where
things like of_iomap() can be done.

The patch updates mxc_restart() a little bit to get it work for imx6q/dl
and kill imx6q_restart() completely.

c884357ec6 Merge branch 'clk-of-init-v2_for-3.13' of https://github.com/shesselba/linux-dove into next/cleanup
From Sebastian Hasselbarth:

This is a patch set based on an RFC [1][2] sent earlier to provide
a common arch/arm init for DT clock providers. Currently, the call to
of_clk_init(NULL) to initialize DT clock providers is spread among several
mach-dirs. Since most machs require DT clocks initialized before timers,
no initcall can be used.

By adding of_clk_init(NULL) to arch/arm time_init(), we can remove all
mach-specific .init_time hooks that basically called of_clk_init and
clocksource_of_init.

In contrast to the RFC version, of_clk_init(NULL) is now only called if
no custom .init_time callback is set. This allows some machs to still
call clock init themselves, as not all can be converted now. Therefore,
this patch sets drops conversion of mach-mvebu and mach-zynq. New machs
that were introduced with v3.12-rc1 are also converted, except mach-u300
that requires clocks before irqs.

Commit cdc58d602d "cpufreq: imx6q-cpufreq:
remove device tree parsing for cpu nodes" assumed the pdev->dev is set to
cpu0 device in the platform code. But it actually points to the virtual
cpufreq-cpu0 platform device which is not present in the device tree.
Most of the information needed by cpufreq is stored in cpu0 DT node.
So cpu_dev must point to cpu0 device.

b4b50fd78b ARM: SoC platform changes for 3.12
This branch contains mostly additions and changes to platform enablement
and SoC-level drivers. Since there's sometimes a dependency on device-tree
changes, there's also a fair amount of those in this branch.

 Pieces worth mentioning are:

 - Mbus driver for Marvell platforms, allowing kernel configuration
and resource allocation of on-chip peripherals.
 - Enablement of the mbus infrastructure from Marvell PCI-e drivers.
 - Preparation of MSI support for Marvell platforms.
 - Addition of new PCI-e host controller driver for Tegra platforms
 - Some churn caused by sharing of macro names between i.MX 6Q and 6DL
platforms in the device tree sources and header files.
 - Various suspend/PM updates for Tegra, including LP1 support.
 - Versatile Express support for MCPM, part of big little support.
 - Allwinner platform support for A20 and A31 SoCs (dual and quad Cortex-A7)
 - OMAP2+ support for DRA7, a new Cortex-A15-based SoC.

The code that touches other architectures are patches moving
MSI arch-specific functions over to weak symbols and removal of
 ARCH_SUPPORTS_MSI, acked by PCI maintainers.

This branch contains code cleanups, moves and removals for 3.12.

There's a large number of various cleanups, and a nice net removal of
 13500 lines of code.

 Highlights worth mentioning are:

 - A series of patches from Stephen Boyd removing the ARM local timer API.
 - Move of Qualcomm MSM IOMMU code to drivers/iommu.
 - Samsung PWM driver cleanups from Tomasz Figa, removing legacy PWM driver
and switching over to the drivers/pwm one.
 - Removal of some unusued auto-generated headers for OMAP2+ (PRM/CM).

There's also a move of a header file out of include/linux/i2c/ to
platform_data, where it really belongs. It touches mostly ARM platform
code for include changes so we took it through our tree.

0a03638852 ARM: imx: clk-pllv3: improve the timeout waiting method
There are two improvements for this commit:

- Add comparing pll lock condition after while loop. It can
fix potential fake timeout problem caused by the code is just
scheduled out before compare the timeout, and the time of
scheduling out are more than one jiffies.

- Move timeout assignment more close to compare the timeout.
It can reduce the possibility the code is scheduled out, and
the timeout can be more precise.

dfd871442e ARM: imx6: change some clocks to fixup clocks
All the clocks controlled by the register 'CCM Serial Clock
Multiplexer Register 1' should be fixup clocks. This patch
changes those clocks from basic multiplexer or divider clocks
to fixup clocks.

a49e6c4b82 ARM: imx: add common clock support for fixup mux
One register may have several fields to control some clocks. It
is possible that the read/write values of some fields may map to
different real functional values, so writing to the other fields
in the same register may break a working clock tree. A real case
is the aclk_podf field in the register 'CCM Serial Clock Multiplexer
Register 1' of i.MX6Q/SDL SoC. This patch introduces a fixup hook
for multiplexer clock which is called before writing a value to
clock registers to support this kind of multiplexer clocks.
