kmalloc() result check was lacking. Fixing that required also
changing card_send_command() return type from void to int, and
checking its return code everywhere.

This patch remove variables that are initialized with a constant,
are never updated, and are only used as parameter of return.
Return the constant instead of using a variable.
Verified by compilation only.

Dave Miller mentioned he'd like to see SET_ETHTOOL_OPS gone.
This does that.

None of these files are actually using any __init type directives
and hence don't need to include <linux/init.h>. Most are just a
left over from __devinit and __cpuinit removal, or simply due to
code getting copied from one driver to the next.
