perf/urgent fixes and improvements:

User visible:
 
 - Show progress bar in more places while doing histogram processing
   in the hists browser (Namhyung Kim)
 
 - Print backtrace symbols when segfault occurs in 'report' (Namhyung Kim)
 
 Infrastructure:
