x86: Add Intel Edison board files Add Intel Edison board which is using U-Boot. This is done in board/intel/edison/config.mk. First run sets hardware_id environment variable which is read from System Controller Unit (SCU). Serial number (serial# environment variable) is generated based on eMMC CID. MAC address on USB network interface is unique to the board but kept the same all over the time. Set mac address from U-Boot using following scheme: OUI = 02:00:86 next 3 bytes of MAC address set from eMMC serial number This allows to have a unique mac address across reboot and flashing. configs: Migrate CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE On the NIOS2 and Xtensa architectures, we do not have CONFIG_SYS_TEXT_BASE set. This is a strict migration of the current values into the defconfig and removing them from the headers. I did not attempt to add more default values in and for now will leave that to maintainers. env: Finish migration of common ENV options - In ARMv8 NXP Layerscape platforms we also need to make use of CONFIG_SYS_RELOC_GD_ENV_ADDR now, do so. - On ENV_IS_IN_REMOTE, CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET is never used, drop the define to 0. - Add Kconfig entry for ENV_ADDR. - Make ENV_ADDR / ENV_OFFSET depend on the env locations that use it. - Add ENV_xxx_REDUND options that depend on their primary option and SYS_REDUNDAND_ENVIRONMENT - On a number of PowerPC platforms, use SPL_ENV_ADDR not CONFIG_ENV_ADDR for the pre-main-U-Boot environment location. - On ENV_IS_IN_SPI_FLASH, check not for CONFIG_ENV_ADDR being set but rather it being non-zero, as it will now be zero by default. - Rework the env_offset absolute in env/embedded.o to not use CONFIG_ENV_OFFSET as it was the only use of ENV_OFFSET within ENV_IS_IN_FLASH. - Migrate all platforms. x86: edison: Switch to ACPI mode SFI is quite poor and useless resource provider. Moreover it makes hard to develop and extend functionality in the Linux kernel. Enable a necessary minimum to use ACPI on Intel Edison. Linux kernel have been prepared for this change since v5.4, where the last crucial driver, i.e. for Basin Cove PMIC, has been submitted. Note, that stock image won't suffer by this change since it doesn't have ACPI enabled on the kernel level. env: Convert CONFIG_ENV_IS_IN... to a choice At present we support multiple environment drivers but there is not way to select between them at run time. Also settings related to the position and size of the environment area are global (i.e. apply to all locations). Until these limitations are removed we cannot really support more than one environment location. Adjust the location to be a choice so that only one can be selected. By default the environment is 'nowhere', meaning that the environment exists only in memory and cannot be saved. Also expand the help for the 'nowhere' option and move it to the top since it is the default.
