df9078ea55 Fix for bug #68087 (ODBC not reading DATE columns correctly) 
Temporary variable indicating column field type ID should be
reset to default for loop iteration (i.e. every column in the
record set. The old buggy code made it persist across all columns
leading to invalid reads from the buffer, if for example a DATE
column was preceded by a VARCHAR column.

65364fe7d0 Corrected patch for bug #60616 
For unixODBC, use ODBC version as defined by it (as of v2.2.14 it is 3.5).
This allows us to use newer features like SQL_DESC_OCTET_LENGTH (which
returns the number of bytes required to store the data). This fixes the issue
in #60616. If the newer version is not available, over-allocate to accomodate
4-byte Unicode characters for CHAR and VARCHAR datatypes (and their Wide
counterparts).

The ODBC extension did not support WVARCHAR. WVARCHAR ends up being handled by
the default handler where vallen is set by the driver to the actual bytes
needed for the field. If it is larger than default-lrl then the output is
corrupted (reading past the buffer) because the return functions don't expect
that to happen. The patch add support to handle WVARCHAR just like a regular
VARCHAR.

206c05dc47 Checking in a patch by Dave Lawson (dlawson@masterytech.com) to correct 
some of the behavior found in the odbc_fetch_*() functions.  This patch
NEEDS to be tested on MS Access before a release is done with it.  This
submission is to get it into the daily builds for testing.

56f8195fe5 - Nuke empty_string. It is a reminanent from the time where RETURN_FALSE() 
used to return "" and not bool(false). It's not worth keeping it because
  STR_FREE() and zval_dtor() always have to check for it and it slows down
  the general case. In addition, it seems that empty_string has been abused
  quite a lot, and was used not only for setting zval's but generally in
  PHP code instead of "", which wasn't the intention. Last but not least,
  nuking empty_string should improve stability as I doubt every place
  correctly checked if they are not mistakenly erealloc()'ing it or
  calling efree() on it.
  NOTE: Some code is probably broken. Each extension maintainer should
  check and see that my changes are OK. Also, I haven't had time to touch
  PECL yet. Will try and do it tomorrow.

0a18a9d744 A add much more useful select(2) implementation than is provided by 
windows sockets.  The winsock implementation will only work with sockets;
our implementation works with sockets and file descriptors.
By association, stream_select() will now operate correctly with files, pipes and sockets.

This change required linking against the winsock2 library.  In terms of
compatibility, only older versions of windows 95 do not have winsock2
installed by default.  It is available as a redistributable file, and is most likely installed by any OS patches (eg: Internet Explorer) applied by the user.

Also, add a win32 compatible pipe test when opening a stream from a pipe.  This test will only work on NT, win2k and XP platforms.  Without this test, interleaved fread() and select() calls would cause the read buffer to be clobbered.  I will be working on a fix for this issue for win9x.

748e75774d - Fixed bug #15803 (and propably others related too, part 2/2) 
. Changed the configure/compile so that it doesn't "pollute" the INCLUDES
    anymore and thus cause trouble with other extensions which
    might use the same header files. (e.g. Informix)

8c497f05c4 We don't consistently check for args passed to functions that don't 
take any args.  In some cases we probably want to skip the check for
performance reasons, but in other cases where performance is unlikely
to be a factor, not throwing a warning on the wrong number of args passed
to a function is at best inconsistent, and at worst it could hide a bug.
So, add a few such checks.  There are still lots of cases out there.

3cd2c989d3 Fixed compatibility issues in the ODBC extension for the Velocis Database server. Specifically, config.m4 was changed to use the client libraries instead of the serer libraries, and to look for the libs in the $RDSHOME/lin directory ass opposed to the $RDSHOME/bin directory. Makefile.in was changed to use the php_odbc.c file as the source for Velocis support. 971d65059a Added small change to php_odbc module, to check for failed SQLDisconnects 
and to close any outstanding transactions if the call fails, then disconnect
again. This can cause chaos with SQL Server, this regards a SELECT as
starting a transaction, and will leave it  open if the result set is not all
read.

3e2ddd1edf Corrected the spelling of verion to version, and cleaned the configuration 
code up a bit.  Also added in much better (read: tested) support for
Solid 3.0.   Credit for almost all of the patch goes to Eric Veldhuyzen,
minor modifications done (by me) to make it non-linux specific.

This commit also creates the HAVE_SOLID_30 define
