6f6a0f362f Static-challenge concatenation option
Extend "--static-challenge" option to take a third
argument (= scrv1 or concat) to specify that the password and
response should be concatenated instead of using the
SCRV1 protocol. If unspecified, it defaults to "scrv1"
meaning that the SCRV1 protocol should be used.

v2: use scrv1|concat instead of 0|1 as option argument
    fix typos
v3: improve and correct documentation in management-notes.txt

a261e17334 Make sending plain text control message session aware
The control messages coming from auth pending should always be on the
session that triggered them (i.e. INITIAL or ACTIVE) and not always on the
active session. Rework the code path that trigger those messsages from
management and plugin/script to specify the TLS session.

We only support the two TLS sessions that are supposed to be active. TLS
sessions in any lame slot (TM_LAME or KS_LAME) are not considered to be
candidates for sending messages as these slots only serve to keep key
material around.

Unfortunately, this fix requires the management interface to be changed
to allow including the specific session the messages should to go to. As
there are very few users of this interface with auth-pending, I made this
a hard change instead of adding hacky workaround code that is not always
working correctly anyway.

send_control_channel_string() will continue to only use the primary session
and key but the current users of that (push replys and exit notification)
already require the established session to be the active one, so there
no changes needed at the moment.

eafbedc583 Include CE_DISABLED status of remote in "remote-entry-get" response
- The response to the management command "remote-entry-get" is
amended to include the status of the remote entry. The status
reads "disabled" if (ce->flag & DISABLED) is true, "enabled"
  otherwise.

- Update and correct the description of this option in
  management-notes.txt

  Example responses:
  In response to "remote-entry-get 0"

  0,vpn.example.com,udp,enabled
  END

Or, in response to "remote-entry-get all"

  0,vpn.example.org,udp,enabled
  1,vpn.example.com,udp,enabled
  2,vpn.example.net,tcp-client,disabled
  END

This helps the management client to show only enabled remotes
to the user.
An alternative would require the UI/GUI to have knowledge of
what makes the daemon set CE_DISABLED (--proto-force,
--htttp-proxy-override etc.).

ec5ffe35a3 Allow skipping multple remotes via management interface
The mamangement command "remote SKIP" is extended with an
optional parameter 'count' > 0. If count is greater than
number of connection entries (len), count % len is used.
On going past the index of the last connection entry,
counting is restarted from the first connection entry.

Without this, use of management-query-remote from a UI is
virtually impractical except when there are only a handful
of remote entries. Skipping the entries one by one takes
a long time when there are many entries to be skipped
(~ 1 second per entry). Use of "remote MOD" is not an
option as change of protocol is not supported.

Management clients can determine the availability of this
feature by checking that the management interface version
is > 3. Older versions will ignore the count parameter and
behave identically to using count = 1.

1252638047 Add remote-count and remote-entry query via management
Selecting the remote host via the management interface
(management-query-remote) provides a restrictive user
experience as there is no easy way to tabulate all available
remote entries and show a list to the user to choose from.
Fix that.

Two new commands for querying the management interface are added:
(i) remote-entry-count : returns the number of remotes specified
in the config file. Example result:
       10
       END

(ii) remote-entry-get i [j]: returns the remote entry at index i
in the form index, host, port, protocol. Or, if j is present
all entries from index i to j-1 are returned, one per line.

     Example result for i = 2:
        2,ovpn.example.com,1194,udp
        END
     Example result for i = 2, j = 4
        2,ovpn.example.com,1194,udp
        3,ovpn.example.com,443,tcp-client
        END

remote-entry-get all: returns all remote entries.

v2: use independent callback functions for the two commands
v3: return results as 0 or more lines terminated by END, as done
for all other similar commands. v1 was fashioned after
pkcs11-id-count and pkcs11-id-get which uses a format not
consistent with the rest of the management commands.

a04e3ac047 Allow management client to announce pss padding support
The --management-external-key option can currently indicate support
for 'nopadding' or 'pkcs1' signatures in the client. Add 'pss' as an
option to announce that PSS signing requests are accepted.

To match, extend the algorithm string in PK_SIGN request to
include the following format:

- RSA_PKCS1_PSS_PADDING,hashalg=name,saltlen=[max|digest]

Here 'name' is the short common name of the hash algorithm.
E.g., SHA1, SHA256 etc.

Existing formats 'ECDSA' and 'RSA_PKCS1_PADDING' are unchanged.

3f8fb2b2c1 Implement client side handling of AUTH_PENDING message
This allows a client to extend the timeout of pull-request response
while waiting for the user to complete a pending authentication. A
timeout of 60s for a normal authentication might still works for a
simple 2FA (but still challenging). With a sophisticated (or overly
complicated) web based authentication 60s are quite short.

To avoid not detecting network problem in this phase, we use the
constant sending of PUSH_REQUEST/AUTH_PENDING as keepalive signal
and still timeout the session after the handshake window time.

8be444df89 Add support for OpenSSL TLS 1.3 when using management-external-key
For TLS versions 1.0 to 1.2 and OpenSSL 1.1.0 and requires a PKCS1
padded response for the external key implementation.
As TLS 1.3 mandates RSA-PSS padding support and also requires an
TLS 1.3 implementation to support RSA-PSS for older TLS
version, OpenSSL will query us to sign an already RSA-PSS padded
string.

This patch adds an 'unpadded' and 'pkcs1' parameter to the
management-external-key option to signal that the client is
able to support pkcs1 as well as unpadded signature requests.

Since clients that implement the management-external-key interface
are usually rather tightly integrated solutions (OpenVPN Connect in the
past, OpenVPN for Android), it is reasonable to expect that
upgrading the OpenSSL library can be done together with
management interface changes. Therefore we provide no backwards
compatbility for mangement-interface clients not supporting
OpenSSL 1.1.1. Also doing this would require downgrading TLS
to 1.1.

Using the management api client version instead the parameters to
management-external-key might seem like the more logical way
but since we only know that version very late in connection progress,
it would require extra logic and complexity to deal with this asynchronous
behaviour. Instead just give an error early if OpenSSL 1.1.1 and
management-external-key without nopadding is detected.

The interface is prepared for signalling PCKS1 and RSA-PSS support
instead of signalling unpadded support.

Patch v3: fix overlong lines and few other style patches. Note
two overlong lines concerning mbedtls are not fixed as they
are removed/shortend by the mbed tls patch to avoid conflicts

Patch v4: Setting minimum TLS version proved to be not enough and
instead of implementing a whole compability layer we require
mangement-clients to implement the new feature when they want
      to use OpenSSL 1.1.1

Add a padding=ALGORITHM argument to pk-sig to indicate the
      algorithm. Drop adding PKCS1 ourselves.

Patch v5: Send the right version of the patch
Patch v6: rebase on master
Patch v7: change style and reword documentation. Make things more
consistent.

396d30c264 Change the hold command to communicate the time that OpenVPN would wait to the UI.
Before the connect-retry change to do exponential backup this was not
necessary since the time was fixed. With the exponential backoff the
UI needs either to implement its own exponential backoff mechanism
or needs a way of knowing the value of OpenVPN internal mechansim.

2191c47165 extend management interface command "state"
Currently the state command shows only the tun/tap IPv4 address. The
IPv4 address of the remote peer is also displayed. In case you connect
via IPv6 it just shows the first 4 bytes of the address in IPv4 notation.

This patch extends the state command, so it handles IPv6 addresses.
In addition it also displays the local address and the both port numbers
of the connection, e.g.

1447250958,CONNECTED,SUCCESS,10.0.0.2,fd00::1,1193,fd00::2,6492,fdff::1002

39e3d336d4 Mac OS X Keychain management client
This patch adds support for using certificates stored in the Mac OSX
Keychain to authenticate with the OpenVPN server. This works with
certificates stored on the computer as well as certificates on hardware
tokens that support Apple's tokend interface. The patch is based on
the Windows Crypto API certificate functionality that currently exists
in OpenVPN.

This patch version implements management client which handles RSA-SIGN
command for RSA offloading. Also it handles new 'NEED-CERTIFICATE'
request to pass a certificate from the keychain to OpenVPN.

OpenVPN itself gets new 'NEED-CERTIFICATE" command which is called when
--management-external-cert is used. It is implemented as a multiline
command very similar to an existing 'RSA-SIGN' command.

The patch is against commit 3341a98c28.

v4:
 - added '--management-external-cert' argument
 - keychain-mcd now parses NEED-CERTIFICATE argument if 'auto' is passed
   as cmdline's identity template
 - fixed typo in help output option name
 - added '--management-external-cert' info in openvpn(8) manpage
 - added 'certificate' command documentation into doc/management-notes.txt

v3:
 - used new 'NEED-CERTIFICATE' command for certificate data request
instead of 'NEED-OK'
 - improved option checking
 - improved invalid certificate selection string handling
 - added man page for keychain-mcd
 - handle INFO, FATAL commands from openvpn and show them to user
 * ACK from Arne Schwabe for OpenVPN part
 * ACK from James based on Arne's testing

v2 (http://sourceforge.net/p/openvpn/mailman/message/33225603/):
 - used management interface to communicate with OpenVPN process

v1 (http://sourceforge.net/p/openvpn/mailman/message/33125844/):
 - used RSA_METHOD to extend openvpn itself

af1bf85aee add option --management-query-proxy
Make openvpn query for proxy information through the
management interface. This allows GUIs to provide (automatically
detected) proxy information on a per connection basis.

This new option supersedes the undocumented --http-proxy-fallback
option and puts the responsibilty for HTTP proxy fallback handling
to the GUI caring for such.
