e513e9aa53 libstdc++: Check _GLIBCXX_USE_C99_STDLIB for strtof and strtold
On broken systems we only have strtod, not strtof and strtold. Just use
strtod for all types, even though that will produce incorrect results in
some cases.

Similarly, if _GLIBCXX_USE_C99_MATH is not defined then std::isinf won't
be declared. Just refer to it unqualified, which should find the C
library's isinf macro if that hasn't been #undef'd by <cmath>.

libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog:

	* src/c++17/floating_from_chars.cc (from_chars_impl): Use
	isinf unqualified.
	[!_GLIBCXX_USE_C99_STDLIB]: Use strtod for float and long
	double.

932fbc868a libstdc++: Add std::from_chars for floating-point types
This adds the missing std::from_chars overloads for floating-point
types, as required for C++17 conformance.

The implementation is a hack and not intended to be used in the long
term. Rather than parsing the string directly, this determines the
initial portion of the string that matches the pattern determined by the
chars_format parameter, then creates a NTBS to be parsed by strtod (or
strtold or strtof).

Because creating a NTBS requires allocating memory, but std::from_chars
is noexcept, we need to be careful to minimise allocation. Even after
being careful, allocation failure is still possible, and so a
non-conforming std::no_more_memory error code might be returned.

Because strtod et al depend on the current locale, but std::from_chars
does not, we change the current thread's locale to "C" using newlocale
and uselocale before calling strtod, and restore it afterwards.

Because strtod doesn't have the equivalent of a std::chars_format
parameter, it has to examine the input to determine the format in use,
even though the std::from_chars code has already parsed it once (or
twice for large input strings!)

By replacing the use of strtod we could avoid allocation, avoid changing
locale, and use optimised code paths specific to each std::chars_format
case. We would also get more portable behaviour, rather than depending
on the presence of uselocale, and on any bugs or quirks of the target
libc's strtod. Replacing strtod is a project for a later date.

ba8fe4b483 libstdc++: Fix istream::ignore exit conditions (PR 94749, PR 96161)
My previous fix for PR 94749 did fix the reported case, so that the next
character is not discarded if it happens to equal the delimiter when __n
characters have already been read. But it introduced a new bug, which is
that the delimiter character would *not* be discarded if the number of
characters discarded is numeric_limits<streamsize>::max() or more before
reaching the delimiter.

The new bug happens because I changed the code to check _M_gcount < __n.
But when __n == numeric_limits<streamsize>::max() that is false, and so
we don't discard the delimiter. It's not sufficient to check for the
delimiter when the __large_ignore condition is true, because there's an
edge case where the delimiter is reached when _M_gcount == __n and so
we break out of the loop without setting __large_ignore.

PR 96161 is a similar bug to the original PR 94749 report, where eofbit
is set after discarding __n characters if there happen to be no more
characters in the stream.

This patch fixes both cases (and the regression) by checking different
conditions for the __n == max case and the __n < max case. For the
former case, we know that we must have either reached the delimiter or
EOF, and the value of _M_gcount doesn't matter (except to avoid integer
overflow). For the latter case we need to check _M_gcount first and only
set eofbit or discard the delimiter if it didn't reach __n. For the
latter case overflow can't happen because _M_gcount <= __n < max.

	PR libstdc++/96161
	* include/bits/istream.tcc (basic_istream::ignore(streamsize))

b32eea9c0c libstdc++: Fix istream::ignore discarding too many chars (PR 94749)
The current code assumes that if the next character in the stream is
equal to the delimiter then we stopped because we saw that delimiter,
and so discards it. But in the testcase for the PR we stop because we
reached the maximum number of characters, and it's coincidence that the
next character equals the delimiter. We should not discard the next
character in that case.

The fix is to check that we haven't discarded __n characters already,
instead of checking whether the next character equals __delim. Because
we've already checked for EOF, if we haven't discarded __n yet then we
know we stopped because we saw the delimiter. On the other hand, if the
next character is the delimiter we don't know if that's why we stopped.

	PR libstdc++/94749
	* include/bits/istream.tcc (basic_istream::ignore(streamsize, CharT)):
	Only discard an extra character if we didn't already reach the

584d52b088 libstdc++: Refactor filesystem::path string conversions
This simplifies the logic of converting Source arguments and pairs of
InputIterator arguments into the native string format. For any input
that is a contiguous range of path::value_type (or char8_t for POSIX)
a string view can be created and the conversion can be done directly,
with no intermediate allocation. Previously some cases created a
basic_string unnecessarily, for example construction from a pair of
path::string_type::iterators, or a pair of non-const value_type*
pointers.

	* include/bits/fs_path.h (__detail::_S_range_begin)

	(__detail::__effective_range): New overloaded function template to
	create a basic_string or basic_string_view for an effective range.

	(path::operator/=(const Source&), path::append(const Source&))
	(path::concat(const Source&)): Use __detail::__effective_range.
	(path::_S_to_string(InputIterator, InputIterator)): New function
	template to create a string view if possible, or string otherwise.
	(path::_S_convert): Add overloads that convert a string returned
	by __detail::__effective_range. Use if-constexpr to inline conversion
	logic from all overloads of _Cvt::_S_convert.
	(path::_S_convert_loc): Add overload that converts a string. Use
	_S_to_string to avoid allocation when possible.
	(path::_Cvt): Remove.
	(path::operator+=(CharT)): Remove indirection through path::concat.
	* include/experimental/bits/fs_path.h (path::_S_convert_loc): Add

a2d196e75c libstdc++: Use RDRAND as fallback if RDSEED keeps failing (PR 94087)
It's not difficult for multiple threads to drain the entropy available
to the RDSEED instruction, at which point we throw an exception. This
change will try to use RDRAND after RDSEED fails repeatedly, and only
throw if RDRAND also fails repeatedly. This doesn't guarantee a random
value can always be read, but reduces the likelihood of failure when
using the RDSEED instruction.

	PR libstdc++/94087
	* src/c++11/random.cc (__x86_rdseed): Allow fallback function to be

bb27781b64 libstdc++: Fix incorrect size calculation in PMR resource (PR 94906)
Calculating the size of a chunk being returned to the upstream allocator
was done with a 32-bit type, so it wrapped if the chunk was 4GB or
larger.

in the testsuite. It has been tested manually with allocations sizes and
alignments exceeding 4GB.

ec40967f13 libstdc++: Make pmr::synchronized_pool_resource work without libpthread (PR 94936)
I implicitly assumed that programs using pmr::synchronized_pool_resource
would also be using multiple threads, and so the weak symbols in
gthr-posix.h would be resolved by linking to libpthread. If that isn't
true then it crashes when trying to use pthread_key_create.

This commit makes the pool resource check __gthread_active_p() before
using thread-specific data, and just use a single set of memory pools
when there's only a single thread.

ea182fe636 libstdc++: Handle type-changing path concatenations (PR 94063)
The filesystem::path::operator+= and filesystem::path::concat functions
operate directly on the native format of the path and so can cause a
path to mutate to a completely different type.

For Windows combining a filename "x" with a filename ":" produces a
root-name "x:". Similarly, a Cygwin root-directory "/" combined with a
root-directory and filename "/x" produces a root-name "//x".

Before this patch the implemenation didn't support those kind of
mutations, assuming that concatenating two filenames would always
produce a filename and concatenating with a root-dir would still have a
root-dir.

This patch fixes it simply by checking for the problem cases and
creating a new path by re-parsing the result of the string
concatenation. This is slightly suboptimal because the argument has
already been parsed if it's a path, but more importantly it doesn't
reuse any excess capacity that the path object being modified might
already have allocated. That can be fixed later though.

	PR libstdc++/94063
	* src/c++17/fs_path.cc (path::operator+=(const path&)): Add kluge to
	handle concatenations that change the type of the first component.
	(path::operator+=(basic_string_view<value_type>)): Likewise.

d574c8aafe libstdc++: Define memory resource key functions non-inline (PR93208)
This prevents the vtables and RTTI from being emitted in every object
file that uses memory_resource and monotonic_buffer_resource.

Objects compiled by GCC 9.1 or 9.2 will contain inline definitions of
the destructors, vtable and RTTI, but this is harmless. The inline
definitions have identical effects to the ones that are now defined in
libstdc++.so so it doesn't matter if the inline ones are used instead of
calling the symbols exported from the runtime library.

fff148b787 libstdc++: Fix error handling in filesystem::remove_all (PR93201)
When recursing into a directory, any errors that occur while removing a
directory entry are ignored, because the subsequent increment of the
directory iterator clears the error_code object.

This fixes that bug by checking the result of each recursive operation
before incrementing. This is a change in observable behaviour, because
previously other directory entries would still be removed even if one
(or more) couldn't be removed due to errors. Now the operation stops on
the first error, which is what the code intended to do all along. The
standard doesn't specify what happens in this case (because the order
that the entries are processed is unspecified anyway).

It also improves the error reporting so that the name of the file that
could not be removed is included in the filesystem_error exception. This
is done by introducing a new helper type for reporting errors with
additional context and a new function that uses that type. Then the
overload of std::filesystem::remove_all that throws an exception can use
the new function to ensure any exception contains the additional
information.

For std::experimental::filesystem::remove_all just fix the bug where
errors are ignored.

	PR libstdc++/93201
	* src/c++17/fs_ops.cc (do_remove_all): New function implementing more

26b1320ee5 PR libstdc++/90281 Fix string conversions for filesystem::path
Fix several bugs in the encoding conversions for filesystem::path that
prevent conversion of Unicode characters outside the Basic Multilingual
Plane, and prevent returning basic_string specializations with
alternative allocator types.

The std::codecvt_utf8 class template is not suitable for UTF-16
conversions because it uses UCS-2 instead. For conversions between UTF-8
and UTF-16 either std::codecvt<C, char, mbstate> or
codecvt_utf8_utf16<C> must be used.

The __str_codecvt_in and __str_codecvt_out utilities do not
return false on a partial conversion (e.g. for invalid or incomplete
Unicode input). Add new helpers that treat partial conversions as
errors, and use them for all filesystem::path conversions.

b0c0d878a8 PR libstdc++/85494 use rdseed and rand_s in std::random_device
Add support for additional sources of randomness to std::random_device,
to allow using RDSEED for Intel CPUs and rand_s for Windows. When
supported these can be selected using the tokens "rdseed" and "rand_s".
For *-w64-mingw32 targets the "default" token will now use rand_s, and
for other i?86-*-* and x86_64-*-* targets it will try to use "rdseed"
first, then "rdrand", and finally "/dev/urandom".

To simplify the declaration of std::random_device in <bits/random.h> the
constructors now unconditionally call _M_init instead of _M_init_pretr1,
and the function call operator now unconditionally calls _M_getval. The
library code now decides whether _M_init and _M_getval should use a real
source of randomness or the mt19937 engine.

Existing code compiled against old libstdc++ headers will still call
_M_init_pretr1 and _M_getval_pretr1, but those functions now forward to
_M_init and _M_getval if a real source of randomness is available. This
means existing code compiled for mingw-w64 will start to use rand_s just
by linking to a new libstdc++.dll.

854a5c7722 PR libstdc++/90299 make filesystem::absolute overloads consistent
In this implementation it is an error to pass the empty path to absolute,
because the empty path doesn't represent any file in the filesystem so
the function cannot meet its postcondition.

Currently the absolute(const path&, error_code&) overload reports an
error for the empty path, but using errc::no_such_file_or_directory, and
the other overload does not report an error. This patch makes them
consistntly report an errc::invalid_argument error for the empty path.

2c390a483b PR libstdc++/90046 fix build failure on epiphany-elf
The epiphany-elf target aligns structs to 8 bytes, which causes the
static_assert(alignof(_Chunk) == 1) to fail.

Instead of requiring _Chunks to be positionable at any alignment, ensure
new buffers are aligned to alignof(_Chunk). Because the buffer size is a
power of two, we know that both the buffer size and sizeof(_Chunk) are
multiples of alignof(_Chunk). So is p is aligned to alignof(_Chunk) then
so is (p + size - sizeof(_Chunk)). So just ensure the new buffer is
aligned to at least alignof(_Chunk), which should already be true
because the caller requests at least alignof(max_align_t).

c7dde4a90a Share all recursive_directory_iterator state [LWG 2708]
Implement the proposed resolution of LWG 2708 by moving the _M_options
and _M_pending members out of the recursive_directory_iterator into the
shared _Dir_stack object. Because _Dir_stack is an opaque type, the

a4395a846a PR libstdc++/89466 avoid slow xsltproc command in configure
Certain broken versions of xsltproc ignore the --nonet option and will
attempt to fetch the docbook stylesheet from the WWW when it isn't in
the local XML catalog.

This patch checks for the local stylesheet directory first, and doesn't
use xsltproc if no local stylesheets are found. Checking for the local
directory is done using xmlcatalog if available, only checking the
hardcoded list of directories if xmlcatalog fails. The right directory
for Suse is added to the hardcoded list.

This should avoid doing an xsltproc check that would need to download
the stylesheet, so no network connection is made even if a broken
xsltproc is present.

fb54aa5915 PR libstdc++/88782 avoid ODR problems in std::make_shared
The old version of _Sp_counted_ptr_inplace::_M_get_deleter (up to GCC
8.2.0) expects to be passed a real std::typeinfo object, so mixing that
with the new definition of the __shared_ptr constructor (which always
passes the fake tag) leads to accessing the fake object as a real
std::typeinfo. Instead of trying to make it safe to mix the old and new
definitions, just stop using that function. By passing a reference to
__shared_ptr::_M_ptr to the __shared_count constructor it can be set
directly, without needing to obtain the pointer via the _M_get_deleter
back-channel. This avoids a virtual dispatch (which fixes PR 87514).

This means that code built against new libstdc++ headers doesn't use
_M_get_deleter at all, and so make_shared works the same whether RTTI is
enabled or not.

Also change _M_get_deleter so that it checks for a real type_info object
even when RTTI is disabled, by calling a library function. Unless
libstdc++ itself is built without RTTI that library function will be
able to test if it's the right type_info. This means the new definition
of _M_get_deleter can handle both the fake type_info tag and a real
type_info object, even if built without RTTI.

If linking to objects built against older versions of libstdc++ then if
all objects use -frtti or all use -fno-rtti, then the caller of
_M_get_deleter and the definition of _M_get_deleter will be consistent
and it will work. If mixing -frtti with -fno-rtti it can still fail if
the linker picks an old definition of _M_get_deleter and an old
__shared_ptr constructor that are incompatible. In that some or all
objects might need to be recompiled.

de4db54fd9 PR libstdc++/86756 Move rest of std::filesystem to libstdc++.so
Move std::filesystem directory iterators and operations from
libstdc++fs.a to main libstdc++ library. These components have many
dependencies on OS support, which is not available on all targets. Some
additional autoconf checks and conditional compilation is needed to
ensure the files will build for all targets. Previously this code was
not compiled without --enable-libstdcxx-filesystem-ts but the C++17
components should be available for all hosted builds.

The tests for these components no longer need to link to libstdc++fs.a,
but are not expected to pass on all targets. To avoid numerous failures
on targets which are not expected to pass the tests (due to missing OS
functionality) leave the dg-require-filesystem-ts directives in place
for now. This will ensure the tests only run for builds where the
filesystem-ts library is built, which presumably means some level of OS
support is present.

beb04ce9d4 Define new filesystem::__file_clock type
In C++17 the clock used for filesystem::file_time_type is unspecified,
allowing it to be chrono::system_clock. The C++2a draft requires it to
be a distinct type, with additional member functions to convert to/from
other clocks (either the system clock or UTC). In order to avoid an ABI
change later, this patch defines a new distinct type now, which will be
used for std::chrono::file_clock later.

1a289fa362 Export explicit instantiations for C++17 members of std::string
The C++17 standard added some new members to std::basic_string, which
were not previously instantiated in the library. This meant that the

this patch the new members are instantiated in the library and so the

73d968d945 Fix bugs in filesystem::path::lexically_normal()
Using path::_List::erase(const_iterator) to remove a non-final component
in path::lexically_normal() is a bug, because it leaves the following
component with an incorrect _M_pos value.

Instead of providing erase members that allow removing components from
the middle, replace them with pop_back() and
_M_erase_from(const_iterator) which only allow removing elements at the
end. Most uses of erase are unaffected, because they only remove
elements from the end anyway. The one use of erasure from the middle in
lexically_normal() is replaced by calls to pop_back() and/or clearing
the last component to leave it as an empty final filename.

Also replace the "???" comment in lexically_normal() to document when
that branch is taken.

8d53154813 Micro-optimization to avoid creating temporary path
Now that path::operator/=(basic_string_view<value_type>) works directly

4f87bb8d6e PR libstdc++/71044 optimize std::filesystem::path construction
This new implementation has a smaller footprint than the previous
implementation, due to replacing std::vector<_Cmpt> with a custom pimpl
type that only needs a single pointer. The _M_type enumeration is also
combined with the pimpl type, by using a tagged pointer, reducing
sizeof(path) further still.

Construction and modification of paths is now done more efficiently, by
splitting the input into a stack-based buffer of string_view objects
instead of a dynamically-allocated vector containing strings. Once the
final size is known only a single allocation is needed to reserve space
for it. The append and concat operations no longer require constructing
temporary path objects, nor re-parsing the entire native pathname.

This results in algorithmic improvements to path construction, and
working with large paths is much faster.

da29d2a36e PR libstdc++/67843 set shared_ptr lock policy at build-time
This resolves a longstanding issue where the lock policy for shared_ptr
reference counting depends on compilation options when the header is
included, so that different -march options can cause ABI changes. For
example, objects compiled with -march=armv7 will use atomics to
synchronize reference counts, and objects compiled with -march=armv5t
will use a mutex. That means the shared_ptr control block will have a
different layout in different objects, causing ODR violations and
undefined behaviour. This was the root cause of PR libstdc++/42734 as
well as PR libstdc++/67843.

The solution is to decide on the lock policy at build time, when
libstdc++ is configured. The configure script checks for the
availability of the necessary atomic built-ins for the target and fixes
that choice permanently. Different -march flags used to compile user
code will not cause changes to the lock policy. This results in an ABI
change for certain compilations, but only where there was already an ABI
incompatibility between the libstdc++.so library and objects built with
an incompatible -march option. In general, this means a more stable ABI
that isn't silently altered when -march flags make addition atomic ops
available.

To force a target to use "atomic" or "mutex" the new configure option
--with-libstdcxx-lock-policy can be used.

In order to turn ODR violations into linker errors, the uses of
shared_ptr in filesystem directory iterators have been replaced
with __shared_ptr, and explicit instantiations are declared. This
ensures that object files using those types cannot link to libstdc++
libs unless they use the same lock policy.

22e0527251 Update GCC to autoconf 2.69, automake 1.15.1 (PR bootstrap/82856).
This patch updates GCC to use autoconf 2.69 and automake 1.15.1.
(That's not the latest automake version, but it's the one used by
binutils-gdb, with which consistency is desirable, and in any case
seems a useful incremental update that should make a future update to
1.16.1 easier.)

The changes are generally similar to the binutils-gdb ones, and are
copied from there where shared files and directories are involved
(there are some further changes to such shared directories, however,
which I'd expect to apply to binutils-gdb once this patch is in GCC).
Largely, obsolete AC_PREREQ calls are removed, while many
AC_LANG_SOURCE calls are added to avoid warnings from aclocal and
autoconf. Multilib support is no longer included in core automake,
meaning that multilib.am needs copying from automake's contrib
directory into the GCC source tree. Autoconf 2.69 has Go support, so
local copies of that support are removed. I hope the D support will
soon be submitted to upstream autoconf so the local copy of that can
be removed in a future update. Changes to how automake generates
runtest calls mean quotes are removed from RUNTEST definitions in five
lib*/testsuite/Makefile.am files (libatomic, libgomp, libitm,
libphobos, libvtv; some others have RUNTEST definitions without
quotes, which are still OK); libgo and libphobos also get
-Wno-override added to AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE so those overrides of RUNTEST
do not generate automake warnings.

Note that the regeneration did not include regeneration of
fixincludes/config.h.in (attempting such regeneration resulted in all
the USED_FOR_TARGET conditionals disappearing; and I don't see
anything in the fixincludes/ directory that would result in such
conditionals being generated, unlike in the gcc/ directory). Also
note that libvtv/testsuite/other-tests/Makefile.in was not
regenerated; that directory is not listed as a subdirectory for which
Makefile.in gets regenerated by calling "automake" in libvtv/, so I'm
not sure how it's meant to be regenerated.

While I mostly fixed warnings should running aclocal / automake /
autoconf, there were various such warnings from automake in the
libgfortran, libgo, libgomp, liboffloadmic, libsanitizer, libphobos
directories that I did not fix, preferring to leave those to the
relevant subsystem maintainers. Specifically, most of those warnings
were of the following form (example from libgfortran):

Makefile.am:48: warning: source file 'caf/single.c' is in a subdirectory,
Makefile.am:48: but option 'subdir-objects' is disabled
automake: warning: possible forward-incompatibility.
automake: At least a source file is in a subdirectory, but the 'subdir-objects'
automake: automake option hasn't been enabled. For now, the corresponding output
automake: object file(s) will be placed in the top-level directory. However,
automake: this behaviour will change in future Automake versions: they
will
automake: unconditionally cause object files to be placed in the same subdirectory
automake: of the corresponding sources.
automake: You are advised to start using 'subdir-objects' option throughout your
automake: project, to avoid future incompatibilities.

I think it's best for the relevant maintainers to add subdir-objects
and do any other associated Makefile.am changes needed. In some cases
the paths in the warnings involved ../; I don't know if that adds any
extra complications to the use of subdir-objects.

I've tested this with native, cross and Canadian cross builds. The
risk of any OS-specific issues should I hope be rather lower than if a
libtool upgrade were included (we *should* do such an upgrade at some
point, but it's more complicated - it involves identifying all our
local libtool changes to see if any aren't included in the upstream
version we update to, and reverting an upstream libtool patch that's
inappropriate for use in GCC); I think it would be better to get this
update into GCC so that people can test in different configurations
and we can fix any issues found, rather than to try to get more and
more testing done before it goes in.

fab2c75b73 PR libstdc++/87641 correctly initialize accumulator in valarray::sum()

749c0e1d8b PR libstdc++/59439 optimize uses of classic ("C") std::locale
The global locale::_Impl that represents the "C" locale is never
destroyed, so there is no need to keep track of reference count updates
for that object. This greatly reduce contention between threads that
refer to the classic locale. Since the global std::locale initially uses
the classic locale, this benefits the common case for any code using the
global locale, such as construction/destruction of iostream objects.

All these updates are done inside libstdc++.so so there's no need to
worry about users' objects having inlined old versions of the code which
still update the reference count for the classic locale.

dd35da2cbe PR libstdc++/87116 fix path::lexically_normal() handling of dot-dot
Previously the logic that turned "a/b/c/../.." into "a/" failed to

8ba7f29e3d Remove <chrono> dependency on _GLIBCXX_USE_C99_STDINT_TR1
By adding fallback definitions of std::intmax_t and std::uintmax_t it's
possible to define <ratio> without _GLIBCXX_USE_C99_STDINT_TR1. This in
turn allows most of <chrono> to be defined, which removes the dependency

dfaa3c47cc Add initial version of C++17 <memory_resource> header
This is missing the synchronized_pool_resource and
unsynchronized_pool_resource classes but is otherwise complete.

This is a new implementation, not based on the existing code in

The constant_init kluge in src/c++17/memory_resource.cc is apparently

c3be340eb6 PR libstdc++/86450 use -Wabi=2 and simplify -Werror use
Use -Wabi=2 to fix warnings about -Wabi having no effect on its own.
This requires suppressing two warnings in src/c++11/debug.cc which do
not affect the library ABI.

Previously libstdc++ defaulted to --enable-werror but the -Werror flag
was not actually added unless --enable-maintainer-mode was used. This is
not documented and not the expected behaviour. This removes any special
treatment for maintainer-mode, makes -Werror depend directly on
--enable-werror, and changes the default to --enable-werror=no.

79a88477ad Remove unused explicit instantiation of __bind_simple
The explicit instantiation of std::call_once used to require an
instantiation of __bind_simple, but call_once was changed by r241031 to
not use __bind_simple. The instantiation of __bind_simple (and the
definitions it uses) are not needed. They should have been removed
instead of doing the changes in r241111 that kept them compiling.

The use of std::call_once by _Async_state_common::_M_join can be
simplified to use a pointer instead of reference wrapper. The call_once
symbol isn't exported so the change isn't visible outside the library.

cda121ac7a PR libstdc++/83328 add correct basic_string::insert for initializer_list
The SSO basic_string has a non-standard insert(iterator, initializer_list)
overload, from a C++0x draft. This adds the correct overload, while also
preserving the old one so that the old symbol is still exported from the
library.

The COW basic_string doesn't have any of the C++11 changes to the insert
overloads (they all still have non-const iterator parameters and the
ones that should return an iterator still return void). This doesn't
make any change to the COW string.

cf290ea325 Fix handling of an empty filename at end of a path
The C++17 std::filesystem::path grammar allows an empty filename as the
last component (to signify a trailing slash). The existing code does not
handle this consistently, sometimes an empty filename has type _Multi
and sometimes it has type _Filename. This can result in a non-empty
iterator range for an empty filename component.

This change ensures that empty paths always have type _Filename and will
yield an empty iterator range.

	* include/bits/fs_path.h (path::_M_type): Change default member
	initializer to _Filename.
	(path::begin): Create past-the-end iterator for empty path.

079638f924 PR libstdc++/85818 ensure path::preferred_separator is defined
Because path.cc is compiled with -std=gnu++17 the static constexpr

311735dbc6 Use non-throwing is_directory in filesystem::create_directory
The create_dir helper was calling the throwing form of
filesystem::is_directory instead of passing the error_code argument.
Since std::filesystem::create_directory(const path&, error_code&) is
noexcept, it would call std::terminate if an error occurred in
is_directory.

Passing the error_code also takes care of clearing it in the case where
is_directory returns true.
