58fb912c15 c++: Fix demangling of <unresolved-name>
The ABI for unresolved scoped names on the RHS of . and -> used to be

  sr <type> <unqualified-id>

That changed years ago to something more complex, but G++ was never updated.
This change was particularly incompatible for simple qualified-ids like
A::x, which were previously mangled as sr1A1x, and now sr1AE1x.

This obviously makes life hard for demanglers, which can't know whether to
consume that E or not. To work around this, we now try demangling with the
newer ABI, and if that fails and we saw an "sr", try again with the older
ABI.

libiberty/ChangeLog:

	PR c++/67343
	* cp-demangle.h (struct d_info): Add unresolved_name_state.
	* cp-demangle.c (d_prefix): Add subst parm.
	(d_nested_name): Pass it.

84096498a7 libiberty: Support the new ("v0") mangling scheme in rust-demangle
This is the libiberty (mainly for binutils/gdb) counterpart of
https://github.com/alexcrichton/rustc-demangle/pull/23.

Relevant links for the new Rust mangling scheme (aka "v0"):
* Rust RFC: https://github.com/rust-lang/rfcs/pull/2603
* tracking issue: https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/60705
* implementation: https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/57967

This implementation includes full support for UTF-8 identifiers
via punycode, so I've included a testcase for that as well.

libiberty/ChangeLog:
	* rust-demangle.c (struct rust_demangler): Add
	skipping_printing and bound_lifetime_depth fields.
	(eat): Add (v0-only).
	(parse_integer_62): Add (v0-only).

	(demangle_const_uint): Add (v0-only).
	(basic_type): Add (v0-only).
	(rust_demangle_callback): Support v0 symbols.

b1c9b3c340 c++: Change the mangling of __alignof__ [PR88115]
This patch changes the mangling of __alignof__ to v111__alignof__,
making its mangling distinct from that of alignof(type) and
alignof(expr).

How we mangle ALIGNOF_EXPR now depends on its ALIGNOF_EXPR_STD_P flag,
which after the previous patch gets consistently set for alignof(type)
as well as alignof(expr).

190c04ba36 lto: fix LTO debug sections copying.

Looking at the documentation:
Table 7–15 ELF sh_link and sh_info Interpretation

sh_type - sh_link
SHT_SYMTAB - The section header index of the associated string table.
SHT_SYMTAB_SHNDX - The section header index of the associated symbol table.

As seen, sh_link of a SHT_SYMTAB always points to a .strtab and readelf
confirms that.

So we need to use reverse mapping taken from
  [81996] .symtab_shndx     SYMTAB SECTION INDICES 0000000000000000 d8b45a8 079dd8 04     81995   0  4

fff56ce438 ubsan: d-demangle.c:214 signed integer overflow
Running the libiberty testsuite
./test-demangle < libiberty/testsuite/d-demangle-expected
libiberty/d-demangle.c:214:14: runtime error: signed integer overflow: 922337203 * 10 cannot be represented in type 'long int'

On looking at silencing ubsan, I found a real bug in dlang_number.
For a 32-bit long, some overflows won't be detected. For example,
21474836480.  Why?  Well 214748364 * 10 is 0x7FFFFFF8 (no overflow so
far). Adding 8 gives 0x80000000 (which does overflow but there is no
test for that overflow in the code). Then multiplying 0x80000000 * 10
= 0x500000000 = 0 won't be caught by the multiplication overflow test.
The same holds for a 64-bit long using similarly crafted digit
sequences.

	* d-demangle.c: Include limits.h.
	(ULONG_MAX, UINT_MAX): Provide fall-back definition.
	(dlang_number): Simplify and correct overflow test. Only

387d0773f3 libiberty: Add support for in' and in ref' storage classes.
The storage class `in' is now a first-class citizen with its own mangle
symbol, of which also permits `in ref'. Previously, `in' was an alias
to `const [scope]', which is a type constructor.

The mangle symbol repurposed for this is `I', which was originally used
by identifier types. However, while TypeIdentifier is part of the
grammar, it must be resolved to some other entity during the semantic
passes, and so shouldn't appear anywhere in the mangled name.

Old tests that are now no longer valid have been removed.

Three new rules have been added to the ABI.

1. Back references using 'Q', analogous to C++ substitutions, compresses
   repeated identifiers, types, and template symbol and value parameters.

2. Template aliases to externally mangled symbols are prefixed with 'X'.
   This includes any symbol that isn't extern(D), or has its name
   overriden with pragma(mangle). This fixes an ambiguity where it was
   not clear whether 'V' was an encoded calling convention, or the next
   template value parameter.

3. Alias parameters, templates, and tuple symbols no longer encode the
   symbol length of its subpart. Tuples are now terminated with 'Z'.
   This fixes another ambiguity where the first character of the mangled
   name can be a digit as well, so the demangler had to figure out where
   to split the two adjacent numbers by trying out each combination.

f9f75f8d3c Fix splay tree KEY leak detected in GDB test gdb.base/macscp.exp
When a node is removed from a splay tree, the splay tree was
not using the function splay_tree_delete_key_fn to release the key.
This was causing a leak, fixed by Tom Tromey.

This patch fixes another key leak, that happens when a key equal to
a key already present is inserted. In such a case, we have to release
the old KEY.
Note that this is based on the assumption that the caller always
allocates a new KEY when doing an insert.

Also, clarify the documentation about when the release functions are
called.

2197ea1791 Fix leak in splay-tree
Philippe Waroquiers noticed a memory leak in gdb, which he tracked
down to a bug in splay-tree. splay_tree_remove does not call the
`delete_key' function when it removes the old node; but it should.

I looked at every splay tree in GCC and there is only one that passes
a non-NULL delete function -- the one in lto.c. That file does not
call splay_tree_remove. So, I think this is safe to check in.

I re-ran the LTO tests to double check.

4be5c72cf3 Implement P0732R2, class types in non-type template parameters.
There is one significant piece of this that is not implemented yet: the
reliance on defaulted operator<=>, which someone else has been working on.
So, for the moment those lines are commented out of the testcases.

One tricky bit was treating template parameters of classtype as const
lvalues without making their decltype const; for this I used a
VIEW_CONVERT_EXPR wrapper, which previously could only appear in templates
as location wrappers.

The user-defined literal parts of P0732R2 are in the next patch.

22e0527251 Update GCC to autoconf 2.69, automake 1.15.1 (PR bootstrap/82856).
This patch updates GCC to use autoconf 2.69 and automake 1.15.1.
(That's not the latest automake version, but it's the one used by
binutils-gdb, with which consistency is desirable, and in any case
seems a useful incremental update that should make a future update to
1.16.1 easier.)

The changes are generally similar to the binutils-gdb ones, and are
copied from there where shared files and directories are involved
(there are some further changes to such shared directories, however,
which I'd expect to apply to binutils-gdb once this patch is in GCC).
Largely, obsolete AC_PREREQ calls are removed, while many
AC_LANG_SOURCE calls are added to avoid warnings from aclocal and
autoconf. Multilib support is no longer included in core automake,
meaning that multilib.am needs copying from automake's contrib
directory into the GCC source tree. Autoconf 2.69 has Go support, so
local copies of that support are removed. I hope the D support will
soon be submitted to upstream autoconf so the local copy of that can
be removed in a future update. Changes to how automake generates
runtest calls mean quotes are removed from RUNTEST definitions in five
lib*/testsuite/Makefile.am files (libatomic, libgomp, libitm,
libphobos, libvtv; some others have RUNTEST definitions without
quotes, which are still OK); libgo and libphobos also get
-Wno-override added to AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE so those overrides of RUNTEST
do not generate automake warnings.

Note that the regeneration did not include regeneration of
fixincludes/config.h.in (attempting such regeneration resulted in all
the USED_FOR_TARGET conditionals disappearing; and I don't see
anything in the fixincludes/ directory that would result in such
conditionals being generated, unlike in the gcc/ directory). Also
note that libvtv/testsuite/other-tests/Makefile.in was not
regenerated; that directory is not listed as a subdirectory for which
Makefile.in gets regenerated by calling "automake" in libvtv/, so I'm
not sure how it's meant to be regenerated.

While I mostly fixed warnings should running aclocal / automake /
autoconf, there were various such warnings from automake in the
libgfortran, libgo, libgomp, liboffloadmic, libsanitizer, libphobos
directories that I did not fix, preferring to leave those to the
relevant subsystem maintainers. Specifically, most of those warnings
were of the following form (example from libgfortran):

Makefile.am:48: warning: source file 'caf/single.c' is in a subdirectory,
Makefile.am:48: but option 'subdir-objects' is disabled
automake: warning: possible forward-incompatibility.
automake: At least a source file is in a subdirectory, but the 'subdir-objects'
automake: automake option hasn't been enabled. For now, the corresponding output
automake: object file(s) will be placed in the top-level directory. However,
automake: this behaviour will change in future Automake versions: they
will
automake: unconditionally cause object files to be placed in the same subdirectory
automake: of the corresponding sources.
automake: You are advised to start using 'subdir-objects' option throughout your
automake: project, to avoid future incompatibilities.

I think it's best for the relevant maintainers to add subdir-objects
and do any other associated Makefile.am changes needed. In some cases
the paths in the warnings involved ../; I don't know if that adds any
extra complications to the use of subdir-objects.

I've tested this with native, cross and Canadian cross builds. The
risk of any OS-specific issues should I hope be rather lower than if a
libtool upgrade were included (we *should* do such an upgrade at some
point, but it's more complicated - it involves identifying all our
local libtool changes to see if any aren't included in the upstream
version we update to, and reverting an upstream libtool patch that's
inappropriate for use in GCC); I think it would be better to get this
update into GCC so that people can test in different configurations
and we can fix any issues found, rather than to try to get more and
more testing done before it goes in.

ebd208bf7b PR82575, lto debugobj references __gnu_lto_slim, ld test liblto-17 fails
If __gnu_lto_slim is global, undefined, default visibility in the
early debug object, then it finds its way into .dynsym when creating
shared libraries. __gnu_lto_slim in a symbol table (.dynsym or
.symtab) signals nm and other binutils that the object is an LTO
object needing a plugin, but that isn't the case for the ld liblti-17
tests. So, make __gnu_lto_slim hidden to prevent it becoming
dynamic. Further, make it weak because some linkers may warn on
finding an undefined global non-default visibility symbol.

6b086d35b7 libiberty: Limit demangler maximum d_print_comp recursion call depth.
The fix for PR demangler/70909 and 67264 (endless demangler recursion)
catches when a demangle_component is printed in a cycle. But that doesn't
protect the call stack blowing up from non-cyclic nested types printed
recursively through d_print_comp. This can happen by a (very) long mangled
string that simply creates a very deep pointer or qualifier chain. Limit
the recursive d_print_comp call depth for a d_print_info to 1K nested
types.

1240212c6b libiberty: Don't update and remove did_subs field from demangler structs.
The d_info field did_subs was used for estimating the string output
size. It was no longer used when the malloc-less callback interface

When backtracking was introduced in 2013 (svn r205292) did_subs was

the field it was still not used.

Since it is never used just stop updating the field and remove it

7a312bbd41 cplus_demangle_fill_component: Handle DEMANGLE_COMPONENT_RVALUE_REFERENCE

... missed doing the same change to cplus_demangle_fill_component that
was done to d_make_comp. I.e., teach it to only validate that we're
not passing in a "right" subtree. GDB has recently (finally) learned
about rvalue references, and a change to make it use
cplus_demangle_fill_component more ran into an assertion because of
this.

(GDB is the only user of cplus_demangle_fill_component in both the gcc

While integrating the d_printing recursion guard change into gdb I
noticed we forgot to initialize the demangle_component d_printing

As is done in cplus_demangle_fill_{component,builtin_type,operator}.

168126e598 libiberty: demangler crash with missing :? or fold expression component.
When constructing an :? or fold expression that requires a third
expression only the first and second were explicitly checked to
not be NULL. Since the third expression is also required in these
constructs it needs to be explicitly checked and rejected when missing.
Otherwise the demangler will crash once it tries to d_print the
NULL component. Added two examples to demangle-expected of strings
that would crash before this fix.

0d0bfbf47c libiberty: Fix some demangler crashes caused by reading past end of input.
In various situations the cplus_demangle () function could read past the
end of input causing crashes. Add checks in various places to not advance

Add various examples of input strings to the testsuite that would crash

921da19854 PR other/61321 - demangler crash on casts in template parameters
The fix for bug 59195:

 [C++ demangler handles conversion operator incorrectly]
 https://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=59195

unfortunately makes the demangler crash due to infinite recursion, in
case of casts in template parameters.

For example, with:

 template<int> struct A {};
 template <typename Y> void function_temp(A<sizeof ((Y)(999))>) {}
 template void function_temp<int>(A<sizeof (int)>);

The 'function_temp<int>' instantiation above mangles to:

  _Z13function_tempIiEv1AIXszcvT_Li999EEE

The demangler parses this as:

typed name
  template
    name 'function_temp'
    template argument list
      builtin type int
  function type
    builtin type void
    argument list
      template                          (*)
        name 'A'
        template argument list
          unary operator
            operator sizeof
            unary operator
              cast
                template parameter 0    (**)
              literal
                builtin type int
                name '999'

And after the fix for 59195, due to:

 static void
 d_print_cast (struct d_print_info *dpi, int options,
	       const struct demangle_component *dc)
 {
 ...
   /* For a cast operator, we need the template parameters from
      the enclosing template in scope for processing the type. */
   if (dpi->current_template != NULL)
     {
       dpt.next = dpi->templates;
       dpi->templates = &dpt;
       dpt.template_decl = dpi->current_template;
     }

when printing the template argument list of A (what should be "<sizeof
(int)>"), the template parameter 0 (that is, "T_", the '**' above) now
refers to the first parameter of the the template argument list of the
'A' template (the '*' above), exactly what we were already trying to
print. This leads to infinite recursion, and stack exaustion. The
template parameter 0 should actually refer to the first parameter of
the 'function_temp' template.

Where it reads "for the cast operator" in the comment in d_print_cast
(above), it's really talking about a conversion operator, like:

  struct A { template <typename U> explicit operator U(); };

We don't want to inject the template parameters from the enclosing
template in scope when processing a cast _expression_, only when
handling a conversion operator.

The problem is that DEMANGLE_COMPONENT_CAST is currently ambiguous,
and means _both_ 'conversion operator' and 'cast expression'.

Fix this by adding a new DEMANGLE_COMPONENT_CONVERSION component type,
which does what DEMANGLE_COMPONENT_CAST does today, and making
DEMANGLE_COMPONENT_CAST just simply print its component subtree.

I think we could instead reuse DEMANGLE_COMPONENT_CAST and in
d_print_comp_inner still do:

 @@ -5001,9 +5013,9 @@ d_print_comp_inner (struct d_print_info *dpi, int options,
        d_print_comp (dpi, options, dc->u.s_extended_operator.name);
        return;

     case DEMANGLE_COMPONENT_CAST:
       d_append_string (dpi, "operator ");
 -     d_print_cast (dpi, options, dc);
 +     d_print_conversion (dpi, options, dc);
       return;

leaving the unary cast case below calling d_print_cast, but seems to
me that spliting the component types makes it easier to reason about
the code.

g++'s testsuite actually generates three symbols that crash the
demangler in the same way. I've added those as tests in the demangler
testsuite as well.

And then this fixes PR other/61233 too, which happens to be a
demangler crash originally reported to GDB, at:
https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=16957

Bootstrapped and regtested on x86_64 Fedora 20.

Also ran this through GDB's testsuite. GDB will require a small
update to use DEMANGLE_COMPONENT_CONVERSION in one place it's using
DEMANGLE_COMPONENT_CAST in its sources.

2a523cfe4e Use strtod instead of strtold in libiberty/d-demangle.c
strtold is currently used to decode templates which have a floating-point
value encoded inside; but this routine is not available on some systems,
such as Solaris 2.9 for instance.

This patch fixes the issue by replace the use of strtold by strtod.
It reduces a bit the precision, but it should still remain acceptable
in most cases.

libiberty/ChangeLog:

        * d-demangle.c: Replace strtold with strtod in global comment.
        (strtold): Remove declaration.
        (strtod): New declaration.
        (dlang_parse_real): Declare value as double instead of long
        double. Replace call to strtold by call to strtod.
        Update format in call to snprintf.

ac8345a525 Delete temporary string within demangler even in failure cases.
A call to demangle_template might allocate storage within a temporary
string even if the call to demangle_template eventually returns
failure.

This will never cause the demangler to crash, but does leak memory, as
a result I've not added any tests for this.

Calling string_delete is safe, even if nothing is allocated into the
string, the string is initialised with string_init, so we know the
internal pointers are NULL.

bc2eed9a8e Fix demangler testsuite crashes with CP_DEMANGLE_DEBUG defined
Running the demangler's testsuite with CP_DEMANGLE_DEBUG defined
crashes, with:

 Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
 0x000000000040a8c3 in d_dump (dc=0x1, indent=12) at ../../src/libiberty/cp-demangle.c:567

 #0  0x000000000040a8c3 in d_dump (dc=0x1, indent=12) at ../../src/libiberty/cp-demangle.c:567
 #1  0x000000000040ae47 in d_dump (dc=0x7fffffffd098, indent=10) at ../../src/libiberty/cp-demangle.c:787
 #2  0x000000000040ae47 in d_dump (dc=0x7fffffffd0c8, indent=8) at ../../src/libiberty/cp-demangle.c:787

Note dc=0x1, which is obviously a bogus pointer. This is the end of
d_dump recursing for a component type that that doesn't actually have
subtrees:

 787       d_dump (d_left (dc), indent + 2);
 788       d_dump (d_right (dc), indent + 2);

This fixes the two cases the testsuite currently trips on.
