Turn wchar iterator into a class
This changes wchar_iterator from charset.c into a real C++ class, then updates the users to use the class. This lets us remove some cleanups in favor of the class' destructor. 2016-10-12 Tom Tromey <tom@tromey.com> * valprint.c (generic_emit_char, count_next_character) (generic_printstr): Update. * charset.c (struct wchar_iterator): Move to charset.h. (wchar_iterator::wchar_iterator): Rename from make_wchar_iterator, turn into a constructor. (wchar_iterator::~wchar_iterator): Rename from do_cleanup_iterator, turn into a destructor. (make_cleanup_wchar_iterator): Remove. (wchar_iterator::iterate): Rename from wchar_iterate. Remove "iter" argument. Update. * charset.h: Include <vector>. (class wchar_iterator): New class, from old struct wchar_iterator. (make_wchar_iterator, make_cleanup_wchar_iterator): Don't declare. |

Remove obsolete TYPE_FLAG_... values
Now that init_type no longer takes a FLAGS argument, there is no user of the TYPE_FLAGS_... enum values left. This commit removes them (and all references to them in comments as well). This is mostly a no-op, except for a change to the Python type printer, which attempted to use them before. (As best as I can tell, this wasn't really needed anyway, since it was only used to pretty-print type *instance* flags, which only use the instance flags.) gdb/ChangeLog: * gdbtypes.h (enum type_flag_value): Remove. [PR gdb/19893] Fix handling of synthetic C++ references
https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=19893 I've traced the main source of the problem to pieced_value_funcs.coerce_ref not being implemented. Since gdb always assumes references are implemented as pointers, this causes it to think that it's dealing with a NULL pointer, thus breaking any operations involving synthetic references. What I did here was implementing pieced_value_funcs.coerce_ref using some of the synthetic pointer handling code from indirect_pieced_value, as Pedro suggested. I also made a few adjustments to the reference printing code so that it correctly shows either the address of the referenced value or (if it's non-addressable) the "<synthetic pointer>" string. I also wrote some unit tests based on Dwarf::assemble; these took a while to make because in most cases I needed a synthetic reference to a physical variable. Additionally, I started working on a unit test for classes that have a vtable, but ran into a few issues so that'll probably go in a future patch. One thing that should definitely be fixed is that proc function_range (called for MACRO_AT_func) will always try to compile/link using gcc with the default options instead of g++, thus breaking C++ compilations that require e.g. libstdc++. gdb/ChangeLog: * dwarf2loc.c (coerce_pieced_ref, indirect_synthetic_pointer, fetch_const_value_from_synthetic_pointer): New functions. (indirect_pieced_value): Move lower half to indirect_synthetic_pointer. (pieced_value_funcs): Implement coerce_ref. * valops.c (value_addr): Call coerce_ref for synthetic references. * valprint.c (valprint_check_validity): Return true for synthetic references. target_read_memory&co: no longer return target_xfer_status
Years ago, these functions used to return errno/EIO. Later, through a series of changes that intended to remove native/remote differences, they ended up returning a target_xfer_status in disguise. Unlike target_xfer_partial&co, the point of target_read_memory&co is to either fully succeed or fail. On error, they always return TARGET_XFER_E_IO. So there's no real point in casting the return of target_read_memory to a target_xfer_status to pass it to memory_error. Instead, it results in clearer code to simply decouple target_read_memory&co's return from target_xfer_status. This fixes build errors like this in C++ mode: ../../src/gdb/corefile.c: In function ‘void read_stack(CORE_ADDR, gdb_byte*, ssize_t)’: ../../src/gdb/corefile.c:276:34: error: invalid conversion from ‘int’ to ‘target_xfer_status’ [-fpermissive] memory_error (status, memaddr); ^ ../../src/gdb/corefile.c:216:1: error: initializing argument 1 of ‘void memory_error(target_xfer_status, CORE_ADDR)’ [-fpermissive] gdb/ChangeLog: 2015-10-27 Pedro Alves <palves@redhat.com> * alpha-tdep.c (alpha_read_insn): Always pass TARGET_XFER_E_IO to memory_error. fort_dyn_array: add basic fortran dyn array support
Fortran provide types whose values may be dynamically allocated or associated with a variable under explicit program control. The purpose of this commit is: * to read allocated/associated DWARF tags and store them in the dynamic property list of main_type. * enable GDB to print the value of a dynamic array in Fortran in case the type is allocated or associated (pointer to dynamic array). Examples: (gdb) p vla_not_allocated $1 = <not allocated> (gdb) p vla_allocated $1 = (1, 2, 3) (gdb) p vla_ptr_not_associated $1 = <not associated> (gdb) p vla_ptr_associated $1 = (1, 2, 3) Add basic test coverage for most dynamic array use-cases in Fortran. The commit contains the following tests: * Ensure that values of Fortran dynamic arrays can be evaluated correctly in various ways and states. * Ensure that Fortran primitives can be evaluated correctly when used as a dynamic array. * Dynamic arrays passed to subroutines and handled in different ways inside the routine. * Ensure that the ptype of dynamic arrays in Fortran can be printed in GDB correctly. * Ensure that dynamic arrays in different states (allocated/associated) can be evaluated. * Dynamic arrays passed to functions and returned from functions. * History values of dynamic arrays can be accessed and printed again with the correct values. * Dynamic array evaluations using MI protocol. * Sizeof output of dynamic arrays in various states. The patch was tested using the test suite on Ubuntu 12.04 64bit. gdb/ChangeLog: * dwarf2read.c (set_die_type): Add read of DW_AT_allocated and DW_AT_associated. * f-typeprint.c: New include of typeprint.h (f_print_type): Add check for allocated/associated status of type. Add casts to memory allocation related calls
Most allocation functions (if not all) return a void* pointing to the allocated memory. In C++, we need to add an explicit cast when assigning the result to a pointer to another type (which is the case more often than not). The content of this patch is taken from Pedro's branch, from commit "(mostly) auto-generated patch to insert casts needed for C++". I validated that the changes make sense and manually reflowed the code to make it respect the coding style. I also found multiple places where I could use XNEW/XNEWVEC/XRESIZEVEC/etc. Thanks a lot to whoever did that automated script to insert casts, doing it completely by hand would have taken a ridiculous amount of time. Only files built on x86 with --enable-targets=all are modified. This means that all other -nat.c files are untouched and will have to be dealt with later by using appropiate compilers. Or maybe we can try to build them with a regular g++ just to know where to add casts, I don't know. I built-tested this with --enable-targets=all and reg-tested. Here's the changelog entry, which was not too bad to make despite the size, thanks to David Malcom's script. I fixed some bits by hand, but there might be some wrong parts left (hopefully not). gdb/ChangeLog: * aarch64-linux-tdep.c (aarch64_stap_parse_special_token): Add cast to allocation result assignment. * ada-exp.y (write_object_renaming): Likewise. Consider addressable memory unit size in various value functions
This patch updates various value handling functions to make them consider the addressable memory unit size of the current architecture. This allows to correctly extract and print values on architectures whose addressable memory unit is not 8 bits. The patch doesn't cover all the code that would ideally need to be adjusted, only the code paths that we happen to use, plus a few obvious ones. Specifically, those areas are not covered by this patch: - Management of unavailable bits - Bitfields - C++ stuff Regression-tested on x86-64 Ubuntu 14.04. I saw no related test result change. gdb/ChangeLog: * c-valprint.c (c_val_print_array): Consider addressable memory unit size. (c_val_print_ptr): Likewise. Remove CHECK_TYPEDEF, use check_typedef instead
I think that the CHECK_TYPEDEF macro is not necessary, and even a bit annoying. It makes unclear the fact that the "type" variables gets overwritten. It has actually bitten me a few times. I think the following, explicit form, is better. type = check_typedef (type); This patches changes all instances of CHECK_TYPEDEF for an equivalent call to check_typedef. The bulk of the change was done with this sed: sed -i 's/CHECK_TYPEDEF (\([^)]*\));/\1 = check_typedef (\1);/' <file>.c The ChangeLog was generated using David Malcom's generate_changelog.py. I manually fixed those places where it gets the wrong function name, hopefully all of them. The patch was built-tested, and I ran a few smoke tests. gdb/ChangeLog: * gdbtypes.h (CHECK_TYPEDEF): Remove. * aarch64-tdep.c (aarch64_return_in_memory): Replace CHECK_TYPEDEF with check_typedef. * ada-lang.c (decode_constrained_packed_array_type): Likewise. Array indexed by non-contiguous enumeration types
In Ada, index types of arrays can be enumeration types, and enumeration types can be non-contiguous. In which case the address of elements is not given by the value of the index, but by its position in the enumeration type. In other words, in this example: type Color is (Blue, Red); for Color use (Blue => 8, Red => 12, Green => 16); type A is array (Color) of Integer; type B is array (1 .. 3) of Integer; Arrays of type A and B will have the same layout in memory, even if the enumeration Color has a hole in its set of integer value. Since recently support for such a feature was in ada-lang.c, where the array was casted to a regular continuous index range. We were losing the information of index type. And this was not quite working for subranges in variable-length fields; their bounds are expressed using the integer value of the bounds, not its position in the enumeration, and there was some confusion all over ada-lang.c as to whether we had the position or the integer value was used for indexes. The idea behind this patch is to clean this up by keeping the real representation of these array index types and bounds when representing the value, and only use the position when accessing the elements or computing the length. This first patch fixes the printing of such an array. To the best of my knowledge, this feature only exists in Ada so it should only affect this language. gdb/ChangeLog: Jerome Guitton <guitton@adacore.com>: * ada-lang.c (ada_value_ptr_subscript): Use enum position of index to get element instead of enum value. (ada_value_slice_from_ptr, ada_value_slice): Use enum position of index to compute length, but enum values to compute bounds. (ada_array_length): Use enum position of index instead of enum value. (pos_atr): Move position computation to... (ada_evaluate_subexp): Use enum values to compute bounds. * gdbtypes.c (discrete_position): ...this new function. * gdbtypes.h (discrete_position): New function declaration. * valprint.c (val_print_array_elements): Call discrete_position to handle array indexed by non-contiguous enumeration types. gdb/testsuite/ChangeLog: * gdb.ada/arr_enum_with_gap: New testcase. |

Split TRY_CATCH into TRY + CATCH
This patch splits the TRY_CATCH macro into three, so that we go from this: ~~~ volatile gdb_exception ex; TRY_CATCH (ex, RETURN_MASK_ERROR) { } if (ex.reason < 0) { } ~~~ to this: ~~~ TRY { } CATCH (ex, RETURN_MASK_ERROR) { } END_CATCH ~~~ Thus, we'll be getting rid of the local volatile exception object, and declaring the caught exception in the catch block. This allows reimplementing TRY/CATCH in terms of C++ exceptions when building in C++ mode, while still allowing to build GDB in C mode (using setjmp/longjmp), as a transition step. TBC, after this patch, is it _not_ valid to have code between the TRY and the CATCH blocks, like: TRY { } // some code here. CATCH (ex, RETURN_MASK_ERROR) { } END_CATCH Just like it isn't valid to do that with C++'s native try/catch. By switching to creating the exception object inside the CATCH block scope, we can get rid of all the explicitly allocated volatile exception objects all over the tree, and map the CATCH block more directly to C++'s catch blocks. The majority of the TRY_CATCH -> TRY+CATCH+END_CATCH conversion was done with a script, rerun from scratch at every rebase, no manual editing involved. After the mechanical conversion, a few places needed manual intervention, to fix preexisting cases where we were using the exception object outside of the TRY_CATCH block, and cases where we were using "else" after a 'if (ex.reason) < 0)' [a CATCH after this patch]. The result was folded into this patch so that GDB still builds at each incremental step. END_CATCH is necessary for two reasons: First, because we name the exception object in the CATCH block, which requires creating a scope, which in turn must be closed somewhere. Declaring the exception variable in the initializer field of a for block, like: #define CATCH(EXCEPTION, mask) \ for (struct gdb_exception EXCEPTION; \ exceptions_state_mc_catch (&EXCEPTION, MASK); \ EXCEPTION = exception_none) would avoid needing END_CATCH, but alas, in C mode, we build with C90, which doesn't allow mixed declarations and code. Second, because when TRY/CATCH are wired to real C++ try/catch, as long as we need to handle cleanup chains, even if there's no CATCH block that wants to catch the exception, we need for stop at every frame in the unwind chain and run cleanups, then rethrow. That will be done in END_CATCH. After we require C++, we'll still need TRY/CATCH/END_CATCH until cleanups are completely phased out -- TRY/CATCH in C++ mode will save/restore the current cleanup chain, like in C mode, and END_CATCH catches otherwise uncaugh exceptions, runs cleanups and rethrows, so that C++ cleanups and exceptions can coexist. IMO, this still makes the TRY/CATCH code look a bit more like a newcomer would expect, so IMO worth it even if we weren't considering C++. gdb/ChangeLog. 2015-03-07 Pedro Alves <palves@redhat.com> * common/common-exceptions.c (struct catcher) <exception>: No longer a pointer to volatile exception. Refine read_string
In read_string, we have this line chunksize = (len == -1 ? min (8, fetchlimit) : fetchlimit); but chunksize is only used in the block that lne == -1, so IWBN to move chunksize to the block in which it is used, and simplify the condition setting chunksize. make calls to help_list use enumerator
Currently there are many calls to help_list that pass the constant -1 as the "class" value. However, the parameter is declared as being of type enum command_class, and uses of the constant violate this abstraction. This patch fixes the error everywhere it occurs in the gdb sources. Fix display of tabulation character for mingw hosts.
Pierre proposed this patch https://sourceware.org/ml/gdb-patches/2013-10/msg00011.html and Tom gave a suggestion that it's better to do check \t in print_wchar <https://sourceware.org/ml/gdb-patches/2013-11/msg00148.html> However, I don't see the follow-up to this discussion. We encounter two fails in printcmds.exp on mingw host, and Pierre's patch fixes them. I pick it up, update a little per Tom's comments, and post it here for review. This patch fixes these fails below on mingw32 host. Return target_xfer_status in to_xfer_partial
This patch does the conversion of to_xfer_partial from LONGEST (*to_xfer_partial) (struct target_ops *ops, enum target_object object, const char *annex, gdb_byte *readbuf, const gdb_byte *writebuf, ULONGEST offset, ULONGEST len); to enum target_xfer_status (*to_xfer_partial) (struct target_ops *ops, enum target_object object, const char *annex, gdb_byte *readbuf, const gdb_byte *writebuf, ULONGEST offset, ULONGEST len, ULONGEST *xfered_len); It changes to_xfer_partial return the transfer status and the transfered length by *XFERED_LEN. Generally, the return status has three stats, - TARGET_XFER_OK, - TARGET_XFER_EOF, - TARGET_XFER_E_XXXX, See the comments to them in 'enum target_xfer_status'. Note that Pedro suggested not name TARGET_XFER_DONE, as it is confusing, compared with "TARGET_XFER_OK". We finally name it TARGET_XFER_EOF. With this change, GDB core can handle unavailable data in a convenient way. The rationale behind this change was mentioned here https://sourceware.org/ml/gdb-patches/2013-10/msg00761.html Consider an object/value like this: 0 100 150 200 512 DDDDDDDDDDDxxxxxxxxxDDDDDD...DDIIIIIIIIIIII..III where D is valid data, and xxx is unavailable data, and I is beyond the end of the object (Invalid). Currently, if we start the xfer at 0, requesting, say 512 bytes, we'll first get back 100 bytes. The xfer machinery then retries fetching [100,512), and gets back TARGET_XFER_E_UNAVAILABLE. That's sufficient when you're either interested in either having the whole of the 512 bytes available, or erroring out. But, in this scenario, we're interested in the data at [150,512). The problem is that the last TARGET_XFER_E_UNAVAILABLE gives us no indication where to start the read next. We'd need something like: get me [0,512) >>> <<< here's [0,100), *xfered_len is 100, returns TARGET_XFER_OK get me [100,512) >>> (**1) <<< [100,150) is unavailable, *xfered_len is 50, return TARGET_XFER_E_UNAVAILABLE. get me [150,512) >>> <<< here's [150,200), *xfered_len is 50, return TARGET_XFER_OK. get me [200,512) >>> <<< no more data, return TARGET_XFER_EOF. This naturally implies pushing down the decision of whether to return TARGET_XFER_E_UNAVAILABLE or something else down to the target. (Which kinds of leads back to tfile itself reading from RO memory from file (though we could export a function in exec.c for that that tfile delegates to, instead of re-adding the old code). Beside this change, we also add a macro TARGET_XFER_STATUS_ERROR_P to check whether a status is an error or not, to stop using "status < 0". This patch also eliminates the comparison between status and 0. No target implementations to to_xfer_partial adapts this new interface. The interface still behaves as before. gdb: 2014-02-11 Yao Qi <yao@codesourcery.com> * target.h (enum target_xfer_error): Rename to ... (enum target_xfer_status): ... it. New. All users updated. Fix "info frame" in the outermost frame.
Doing "info frame" in the outermost frame, when that was indicated by the next frame saying the unwound PC is undefined/not saved, results in error and incomplete output: (gdb) bt #0 thread_function0 (arg=0x0) at threads.c:63 #1 0x00000034cf407d14 in start_thread (arg=0x7ffff7fcb700) at pthread_create.c:309 #2 0x000000323d4f168d in clone () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone.S:115 (gdb) frame 2 #2 0x000000323d4f168d in clone () at ../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone.S:115 115 call *%rax (gdb) info frame Stack level 2, frame at 0x0: rip = 0x323d4f168d in clone (../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone.S:115); saved rip Register 16 was not saved (gdb) Not saved register values are treated as optimized out values internally throughout. stack.c:frame_info is handing unvailable values, but not optimized out ones. The patch deletes the frame_unwind_caller_pc_if_available wrapper function and instead lets errors propagate to frame_info (it's only user). As frame_unwind_pc now needs to be able to handle and cache two different error scenarios, the prev_pc.p variable is replaced with an enumeration. (FWIW, I looked into making gdbarch_unwind_pc or a variant return struct value's instead, but it results in lots of boxing and unboxing for no real gain -- e.g., the mips and arm implementations need to do computation on the unboxed PC value. Might as well throw an error on first attempt to get at invalid contents.) After the patch, we get: (gdb) info frame Stack level 2, frame at 0x0: rip = 0x323d4f168d in clone (../sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/clone.S:115); saved rip = <not saved> Outermost frame: outermost caller of frame at 0x7ffff7fcafc0 source language asm. Print entirely unavailable struct/union values as a single <unavailable>.
When printing an entirely optimized out structure/class/union, we print a single <optimized out> instead of printing <optimized out> for each field. This patch makes an entirely unavailable structure/class/union be likewise displayed with a single "<unavailable>" rather than the whole object with all fields <unavailable>. This seems good because this way the user can quickly tell whether the whole value is unavailable, rather than having to skim all fields. Consistency with optimized out values also seems to be a good thing to have. A few updates to gdb.trace/unavailable.exp where required. Stop using errno values around target_xfer interfaces and memory errors.
target_read_memory & friends build on top of target_read (thus on top of the target_xfer machinery), but turn all errors to EIO, an errno value. I think we'd better convert all these to return a target_xfer_error too, like target_xfer_partial in a previous patch. The patch starts by doing that. (The patch does not add a enum target_xfer_error value for '0'/no error, and likewise does not change the return type of several of these functions to enum target_xfer_error, because different functions return '0' with different semantics.) I audited the tree for memory_error calls, EIO checks, places where GDB hardcodes 'errno = EIO', and also for strerror calls. What I found is that nowadays there's really no need to handle random errno values, other than the EIOs gdb itself hardcodes. No doubt errno values would appear in common code back in the day when target_xfer_memory was the main interface to access memory, but nowadays, any errno value that deprecated interface could return is just absorved by default_xfer_partial: else if (xfered == 0 && errno == 0) /* "deprecated_xfer_memory" uses 0, cross checked against ERRNO as one indication of an error. */ return 0; else return -1; There are two places in the code that check for EIO and print "out of bounds", and defer to strerror for other errors. That's c-lang.c:c_get_string, and valprint.c.:val_print_string. AFAICT, the strerror branch can never be reached nowadays, as the only error possible to get at those points is EIO, given that it's GDB itself that set that errno value (in target_read_memory, etc.). breakpoint.c:insert_bp_location always prints the error val as if an errno, returned by target_insert_breakpoint, with strerr. Now the error here is either always EIO for mem-break.c targets (again hardcoded by the target_read_memory/target_write_memory functions), so this always prints "Input/output error" or similar (depending on host), or, for remote targets (and probably others), this gem: Error accessing memory address 0x80200400: Unknown error -1. This patch makes these 3 places print the exact same error memory_error prints. This changes output, but I think this is better, for making memory error output consistent with other commands, and, it means we have a central place to tweak for memory errors. E.g., this changes: Cannot insert breakpoint 1. Error accessing memory address 0x5fc660: Input/output error. to: Cannot insert breakpoint 1. Cannot access memory at address 0x5fc660 Which I find pretty much acceptable. Surprisingly, only py-prettyprint.exp had a regression, for needing an adjustment. I also grepped the testsuite for the old errors, and found no other hits. Now that errno values aren't used anywhere in any of these memory access related routines, I made memory_error itself take a target_xfer_error instead of an errno. The new target_xfer_memory_error function added recently is no longer necessary, and is thus removed. Tested on x86_64 Fedora 17, native and gdbserver. gdb/ 2013-10-09 Pedro Alves <palves@redhat.com> * breakpoint.c (insert_bp_location): Use memory_error_message to build the memory error string. * c-lang.c: Include "gdbcore.h". Print registers not saved in the frame as "<not saved>" instead of "<optimized out>".
Currently, in some scenarios, GDB prints <optimized out> when printing outer frame registers. An <optimized out> register is a confusing concept. What this really means is that the register is call-clobbered, or IOW, not saved by the callee. This patch makes GDB say that instead. Before patch: (gdb) p/x $rax $1 = <optimized out> (gdb) info registers rax rax <optimized out> After patch: (gdb) p/x $rax $1 = <not saved> (gdb) info registers rax rax <not saved> However, if for some reason the debug info describes a variable as being in such a register (**), we still want to print <optimized out> when printing the variable. IOW, <not saved> is reserved for inspecting registers at the machine level. The patch uses lval_register+optimized_out to encode the not saved registers, and makes it so that optimized out variables always end up in !lval_register values. ** See <https://sourceware.org/ml/gdb-patches/2012-08/msg00787.html>. Current/recent enough GCC doesn't mark variables/arguments as being in call-clobbered registers in the ranges corresponding to function calls, while older GCCs did. Newer GCCs will just not say where the variable is, so GDB will end up realizing the variable is optimized out. frame_unwind_got_optimized creates not_lval optimized out registers, so by default, in most cases, we'll see <optimized out>. value_of_register is the function eval.c uses for evaluating OP_REGISTER (again, $pc, etc.), and related bits. It isn't used for anything else. This function makes sure to return lval_register values. The patch makes "info registers" and the MI equivalent use it too. I think it just makes a lot of sense, as this makes it so that when printing machine registers ($pc, etc.), we go through a central function. We're likely to need a different encoding at some point, if/when we support partially saved registers. Even then, I think value_of_register will still be the spot to tag the intention to print machine register values differently. value_from_register however may also return optimized out lval_register values, so at a couple places where we're computing a variable's location from a dwarf expression, we convert the resulting value away from lval_register to a regular optimized out value. Add options to skip unavailable locals
This is the patch to add new option '--skip-unavailable' to MI commands '-stack-list-{locals, arguments, variables}'. This patch extends list_args_or_locals to add a new parameter 'skip_unavailable', and don't list locals or arguments if values are unavailable and 'skip_unavailable' is true. This is inspecting a trace frame (tfind mode), where only a few locals have been collected. -stack-list-locals, no switch vs new switch: -stack-list-locals --simple-values ^done, locals=[{name="array",type="unsigned char [2]"},{name="i",type="int",value="<unavailable>"}] -stack-list-locals --skip-unavailable --simple-values ^done, locals=[{name="array",type="unsigned char [2]"}] -stack-list-arguments, no switch vs new switch: -stack-list-arguments --simple-values ^done,stack-args=[frame={level="0",args=[{name="j",type="int",value="4"},{name="s",type="char *",value="<unavailable>"}]},frame={level="1",args=[]}] -stack-list-arguments --skip-unavailable --simple-values ^done,stack-args=[frame={level="0",args=[{name="j",type="int",value="4"}]},frame={level="1",args=[]}] -stack-list-variables, no switch vs new switch: -stack-list-variables --simple-values ^done,variables=[{name="j",arg="1",type="int",value="4"},{name="s",arg="1",type="char *",value="<unavailable>"},{name="array",type="unsigned char [2]"},{name="i",type="int",value="<unavailable>"}] -stack-list-variables --skip-unavailable --simple-values ^done,variables=[{name="j",arg="1",type="int",value="4"},{name="array",type="unsigned char [2]"}] tests are added to test these new options. gdb: 2013-08-27 Pedro Alves <pedro@codesourcery.com> Yao Qi <yao@codesourcery.com> * mi/mi-cmd-stack.c (list_args_or_locals): Adjust prototype.
