fd67aa1129 Update year range in copyright notice of binutils files
Adds two new external authors to etc/update-copyright.py to cover
bfd/ax_tls.m4, and adds gprofng to dirs handled automatically, then
updates copyright messages as follows:

1) Update cgen/utils.scm emitted copyrights.
2) Run "etc/update-copyright.py --this-year" with an extra external
author I haven't committed, 'Kalray SA.', to cover gas testsuite
files (which should have their copyright message removed).
3) Build with --enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes.
4) Check out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently.

d87bef3a7b Update year range in copyright notice of binutils files
The newer update-copyright.py fixes file encoding too, removing cr/lf
on binutils/bfdtest2.c and ld/testsuite/ld-cygwin/exe-export.exp, and
embedded cr in binutils/testsuite/binutils-all/ar.exp string match.

a2c5833233 Update year range in copyright notice of binutils files
The result of running etc/update-copyright.py --this-year, fixing all
the files whose mode is changed by the script, plus a build with
--enable-maintainer-mode --enable-cgen-maint=yes, then checking
out */po/*.pot which we don't update frequently.

The copy of cgen was with commit d1dd5fcc38ead reverted as that commit
breaks building of bfp opcodes files.

fd3619828e bfd_section_* macros
This large patch removes the unnecessary bfd parameter from various
bfd section macros and functions. The bfd is hardly ever used and if
needed for the bfd_set_section_* or bfd_rename_section functions can
be found via section->owner except for the com, und, abs, and ind
std_section special sections. Those sections shouldn't be modified
anyway.

The patch also removes various bfd_get_section_<field> macros,
replacing their use with bfd_section_<field>, and adds
bfd_set_section_lma. I've also fixed a minor bug in gas where
compressed section renaming was done directly rather than calling
bfd_rename_section. This would have broken bfd_get_section_by_name
and similar functions, but that hardly mattered at such a late stage
in gas processing.

652afeef24 AArch64: Fix LD crash on weak and undefined TLS symbols. (PR/24602).
This patch fixes a few linker crashes due to TLS code reaching an assert when it
shouldn't.

The first scenario is with weak TLS symbols that remain weak during linking. In
this case the mid-end would not have seen a TLS symbol and so wouldn't have
allocated the TLS section. We currently assert here and the linker crashes with
a not very useful message.

This patch changes this to return the value 0 for the TLS symbol in question
emulating what lld and gold and other BFD targets do. However because weak TLS
is implementation defined and we don't define any behavior for it I also emit a
warning to the user to inform them of such.

Secondly when a strong TLS reference is undefined. The linker crashes even after
it correctly reported that there is an undefined reference. This changes it so
that it gracefully exits and reports a useful error.

bfd/ChangeLog:

	PR ld/24601
	* elfnn-aarch64.c (aarch64_relocate): Handle weak TLS and undefined TLS.
	Also Pass input_bfd to _bfd_aarch64_elf_resolve_relocation.

237df8fe18 [BFD, AArch64] Fix PT_GNU_PROPERTY alignment issue
If the new GNU property section was being created by the linker
(this will happen only if none of the inputs have any GNU property
section but the command line to the linker forces a bti with

header of PT_GNU_PROPERTY type was not being set correctly. This

4e5391148d [BFD, AArch64, x86] Improve warning for --force-bti
The AArch64 linker option to turn on BTI (--force-bti) warns in case there are
input objects which have a missing GNU NOTE section for BTI. This patch is trying
to improve the warnings that come out.

In order to do so, I propose adding a new argument to elf_merge_gnu_properties
and the backend function merge_gnu_properties. This new argument makes sure
that we now pass both the objects along with the properties to which they
belong to. The x86 backend function has also been updated to match this
change.

whitespace = indent-with-non-tab,space-before-tab,trailing-space

2aff25ba76 [AArch64] Remove duplicated code when handling some GOT relocations types
There are quite a few duplicated code supporting several GP based
relocation types. They are:

  BFD_RELOC_AARCH64_LD64_GOTOFF_LO15
  BFD_RELOC_AARCH64_MOVW_GOTOFF_G0_NC
  BFD_RELOC_AARCH64_MOVW_GOTOFF_G1

These relocation types are supposed to be used for large memory model PIC/pic
mode under which we will have an initialized GP register points to the base of
GOT table, then these relocations are supposed to put the distance between GOT
entry and GOT table base address into the related instructions.

So, the parameters required to calculate the relocation should be the same as
BFD_RELOC_AARCH64_LD64_GOTPAGE_LO15 etc, all of them are require the GOT entry
address and GOT table base address to perform the relocation.

This patch has removed those duplicated code when handling above listed
relocation types, grouped them with others as relocation types that are
require GOT table base address during performing relocation, reused the
existed GOT handling code.

The relocation calculation for these types before and after this patch should be
identical.

13a2df29c9 Set EI_OSABI to ELFOSABI_GNU for local IFUNC symbols
Since the backend elf_add_symbol_hook isn't called on local symbols,
the EI_OSABI field isn't to ELFOSABI_GNU where are local IFUNC symbols.
This patch changes the x86 backends to set has_gnu_symbols if there are
relocations against IFUNC symbols. Other backends with IFUNC support
may need a similar change.

This patch also changes the type of has_gnu_symbols from bfd_boolean to
enum elf_gnu_symbols.

36e6c1400b [AArch64] BFD_RELOC_AARCH64_TLSLE_ADD_LO12 should enable overflow check
BFD_RELOC_AARCH64_TLSLE_ADD_LO12 is used to generate simplest
one-instruction addressing for TLS LE model when tls size is smaller
4K. Linker need to make sure there is no TLS offset overflow.

  * elfnn-aarch64.c (elfNN_aarch64_howto_table): Set overflow type to
  complain_overflow_unsigned for BFD_RELOC_AARCH64_TLSLE_ADD_LO12.
  * elfxx-aarch64.c (_bfd_aarch64_elf_resolve_relocation): Don't use
PGOFF for BFD_RELOC_AARCH64_TLSLE_ADD_LO12, that will mask off all
  potential high overflowed bits.
