bch2_direct_IO_read() checks the request offset and size for sector alignment and then falls through to a couple calculations to shrink the size of the request based on the inode size. The problem is that these checks round up to the fs block size, which runs the risk of underflowing iter->count if the block size happens to be large enough. This is triggered by fstest generic/361 with a 4k block size, which subsequently leads to a crash. To avoid this crash, check that the shorten length doesn't exceed the overall length of the iter. Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
