Directly reading ocotp register depends on that bootloader enables ocotp clk, which is not always effective, so change to use nvmem API. Using nvmem API requires to support driver defer probe and thus change soc-imx8m.c to use platform driver. The other reason is that directly reading ocotp register causes kexec kernel hang because the 1st kernel running will disable unused clks after kernel boots up, and then ocotp clk will be disabled even if bootloader enables it. When kexec kernel, ocotp clk needs to be enabled before reading ocotp registers, and nvmem API with platform driver supported can accomplish this. Linux kernel
============
There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
