faa16e0f38 i40e: correctly honor the mask fields for ETHTOOL_SRXCLSRLINS
The current implementation of .set_rxnfc does not properly read the mask
field for filter entries. This results in incorrect driver behavior, as
we do not reject filters which have masks set to ignore some fields. The
current implementation simply assumes that every part of the tuple or
"input set" is specified. This results in filters not behaving as
expected, and not working correctly.

As a first step in supporting some partial filters, add code which
checks the mask fields and rejects any filters which do not have an
acceptable mask. For now, we just assume that all fields must be set.

This will get the driver one step towards allowing some partial filters.
At a minimum, the ethtool commands which previously installed filters
that would not function will now return a non-zero exit code indicating
failure instead.

We should now be meeting the minimum requirements of the .set_rxnfc API,
by ensuring that all filters we program have a valid mask value for each
field.

Finally, add code to report the mask correctly so that the ethtool
command properly reports the mask to the user.

Note that the typecast to (__be16) when checking source and destination
port masks is required because the ~ bitwise negation operator does not
correctly handle variables other than integer size.

c6da525de7 i40e: always remove old filter when adding new FDir filter
The previous code relied on i40e_match_fdir_input_set to determine when
determining whether to free the old filter. Change this code so that we
simply unconditionally delete the old filter, even if it's identical to
the new filter. This ensures that we don't leak any memory, and that we
always update the filters as expected.

1ec8deac8c i40e: explicitly fail on extended MAC field for ethtool_rx_flow_spec
Although we will fail the filter later due to checking flow_type which
will have a bogus invalid type, it is possible future refactoring will
remove this hidden failure case. Avoid a possible issue in the future by
explicitly checking the flow type at the start.

01016da1e5 i40e: rework exit flow of i40e_add_fdir_ethtool
Refactor the exit flow of the i40e_add_fdir_ethtool function. Move the
input_label to the end of the function, removing the dependency on
having a non-zero return value. Add a comment explaining why it is ok
not to free the fdir data structure, because the structure is now stored
in the fdir_filter_list.

8ce43dce6f i40e: don't use arrays for (src|dst)_ip
The code originally included src_ip and dst_ip with enough space to
support ipv6 filters. However, no actual support for ipv6 filters has
been implemented. Thus, remove the arrays and just use __be32 values.
Should ipv6 support be added in the future, we can replace these with
a union that has sizes for both values.

b77ac97593 i40e: rename auto_disable_flags to hw_disabled_flags
A previous commit introduced a field that tracks the features
that are disabled due to HW resource limitations as opposed
to the featured disabled by the user. This patch changes the
name of the field to make it more readable since it might get
confusing when looking at code containing both the flags
field and the auto_disable_features field together.

c271dd6c39 i40e: fix ethtool to get EEPROM data from X722 interface
Currently ethtool -e will error out with a X722 interface
as its EEPROM has a scope limit at offset 0x5B9FFF.
This patch fixes the issue by setting the EEPROM length to
the scope limit to avoid NVM read failure beyond that.

33084060fb i40e: add interrupt rate limit verbosity
Due to the resolution of the register controlling interrupt rate
limiting, setting certain values for the interrupt rate limit make it
appear as though the limiting is not completely accurate.  The problem
is that the interrupt rate limit is getting rounded down to the nearest
multiple of 4.  This patch fixes the problem by adding some feedback to
the user as to the actual interrupt rate limit being used when it
differs from the requested limit.  Without this patch setting interrupt
rate limits may appear to behave inaccurately.

1c0e6a3613 i40e: refactor macro INTRL_USEC_TO_REG
This patch refactors the macro INTRL_USEC_TO_REG into a static inline
function and fixes a couple subtle bugs caused by the macro.

This patch fixes a bug which was caused by passing a bad register value
to the firmware.  If enabling interrupt rate limiting, a non-zero value
for the rate limit must be used.  Otherwise the firmware sets the
interrupt rate limit to the maximum value.  Due to the limited
resolution of the register, attempting to set a value of 1, 2, or 3
would be rounded down to 0 and limiting was left enabled, causing
unexpected behavior.

This patch also fixes a possible bug in which using the macro itself can
introduce unintended side-affects because the macro argument is used
more than once in the macro definition (e.g. a variable post-increment
argument would perform a double increment on the variable).

Without this patch, attempting to set interrupt rate limits of 1, 2, or
3 results in unexpected behavior and future use of this macro could
cause subtle bugs.

3123237af5 i40e: Add support for 25G devices
Add support for 25G devices - defines and data structures.

One tricky part here is that the firmware support for these
Devices introduces a mismatch between the PHY type enum and
the bitfields for the phy types.

This change creates a macro and uses it to increment the 25G
PHY values when creating 25G bitfields.

4f9b430754 i40e: Blink LED on 1G BaseT boards
Before this patch "ethtool -p" was not blinking the LEDs on boards
with 1G BaseT PHYs.

This commit identifies 1G BaseT boards as having the LEDs connected
to the MAC. Also, renamed the flag to be more descriptive of usage.
The flag is now I40E_FLAG_PHY_CONTROLS_LEDS.

4ad9f4f9e2 i40e: Fix for ethtool Supported link modes
This patch fixes the problem where the ethtool Supported link
modes list backplane interfaces on X722 devices for 10GbE with
SFP+ and Cortina retimer. This patch fixes the problem by setting
and using a flag for this particular device since the backplane
interface is only between the internal PHY and the retimer and it
should not be seen by the user as they cannot use it.
Without this patch, the user wrongly thinks that backplane interfaces
are supported on their device when they actually are not.

2f7679ee2e i40e: fix panic on SPARC while changing num of desc
On SPARC, writel() should not be used to write directly to memory
address but only to memory mapped I/O address otherwise it causes
data access exception.

Commit 147e81ec75 ("i40e: Test memory before ethtool alloc
succeeds") introduced a code that uses memory address to fake the HW
tail address and attempt to write to that address using writel()
causes kernel panic on SPARC. The issue is reproduced while changing
number of descriptors using ethtool.

This change resolves the panic by using HW read-only memory mapped
I/O register to fake HW tail address instead memory address.

d182a5ca1f i40e: avoid duplicate private flags definitions
Separate the global private flags and the regular private flags per
interface into two arrays. Future additions of private flags will not
need to be duplicated which may lead to buggy code. Also rename
"i40e_priv_flags_strings_gl" to "i40e_gl_priv_flags_strings" for
clarity, as it reads more naturally.

3aa7b74dbe i40e: removed unreachable code
Removed some of unnecessary if statements and unreachable code found by
static code analysis tool.
The return value of i40e_vsi_control_rings(..., false) is always 0. So,
test for non-zero will never be true. The function has been split into
"int i40e_vsi_start_rings()" and "void i40e_vsi_stop_rings()" for better
understanding.
Similarly, the function i40e_vsi_kill_vlan() never fails. So, checking
for return value is also unnecessary. Function definition changed to void.
The i40e_loopback_test() function is not implemented. The function and
all references to loopback testing were removed.

4b8164467b i40e: Add common function for finding VSI by type
This patch adds a common method for finding a VSI by type.  The main
motivation for doing this is that the Flow Director path actually had two
ways of handling this, one stopped on first match and one did not.  This
patch makes it so that all callers of this function will get the same
approach for finding a VSI.

5d4ca23e58 i40e: Clean up handling of msglevel flags and debug parameter
So the i40e driver had a really convoluted configuration for how to handle
the debug flags contained in msg_level.  Part of the issue is that the
driver has its own 32 bit mask that it was using to track a separate set of
debug features.  From what I can tell it was trying to use the upper 4 bits
to determine if the value was meant to represent a bit-mask or the numeric
value provided by debug level.

What this patch does is clean this up by compressing those 4 bits into bit
31, as a result we just have to perform a check against the value being
negative to determine if we are looking at a debug level (positive), or a
debug mask (negative).  The debug level will populate the msg_level, and
the debug mask will populate the debug_mask in the hardware struct.

I added similar logic for ethtool.  If the value being provided has bit 31
set we assume the value being provided is a debug mask, otherwise we assume
it is a msg_enable mask.  For displaying we only provide the msg_enable,
and if debug_mask is in use we will print it to the dmesg log.

Lastly I removed the debugfs interface.  It is redundant with what we
already have in ethtool and really doesn't belong anyway.

65e87c0398 i40evf: support queue-specific settings for interrupt moderation
In commit a75e8005d5 ("i40e: queue-specific settings for interrupt
moderation") the i40e driver gained support for setting interrupt
moderation values per queue. This patch adds support for this feature
to the i40evf driver as well. In addition, a few changes are made to
the i40e implementation to add function header documentation comments,
as well.

This behaves in a similar fashion to the implementation in i40e. Thus,
requesting the moderation value when no queue is provided will report
queue 0 value, while setting the value without a queue will set all
queues at once.

234dc4e676 i40e: cleanup ATR auto_disable_flags use
Some locations that disable ATR accidentally used the "full" disable by
disabling the flag in the standard flags field. This incorrectly forces
ATR off permanently instead of temporarily disabling it. In addition,
some code locations accidentally set the ATR flag enabled when they only
meant to clear the auto_disable_flags. This results in ignoring the
user's ethtool private flag settings.

Additionally, when disabling ATR via ethtool, we did not perform a flush
of the FD table. This results in the previously assigned ATR rules still
functioning which was not expected.

Cleanup all these areas so that automatic disable uses only the
auto_disable_flag. Fix the flush code so that we can trigger a flush
even when we've disabled ATR and SB support, as otherwise the flush
doesn't work. Fix ethtool setting to actually request a flush. Fix
NETIF_F_NTUPLE flag to only clear the auto_disable setting and not
enable the full feature.

f158235102 i40e: fix setting user defined RSS hash key
Previously, when using ethtool to change the RSS hash key, ethtool would
report back saying the old key was still being used and no error was
reported.  It was unclear whether it was being reported incorrectly or
being set incorrectly.  Debugging revealed 'i40e_set_rxfh()' returned
zero immediately instead of setting the key because a user defined
indirection table is not supplied when changing the hash key.

This fix instead changes it such that if an indirection table is not
supplied, then a default one is created and the hash key is now
correctly set.

59826d9bec i40e: don't allow reduction of channels below active FD rules
If a driver is unable to maintain all current user supplied settings
from ethtool (or other sources), it is not ok for a user request to
succeed and silently trample over previous configuration.

To that end, if you change the number of channels, it must not be
allowed to reduce the number of channels (queues) below the current
flow director filter rules targets. In this case, return -EINVAL when
a request to reduce the number of channels would do so. In addition
log a warning to the kernel buffer explaining why we failed, and report
the rules which prevent us from lowering the number of channels.

Previously we were only looking at the FW supported PHY types if link
was down, because we want to be more specific when link is up. This
refactor changes this. When link is down, we still rely on the FW
supported PHY types, but when link is up, we select the possible
supported link modes from what we know about the current PHY type, and
AND that with the FW supported PHY types.

b556989230 i40e: Add vf-true-promisc-support priv flag
This patch adds priv-flag knob to configure global true promisc
support. With this patch the user can decide the flavor of
promiscuous that the VFs will see when promiscuous mode is enabled
on the interface. Since this a global setting for the whole device,
the priv-flag is exposed only on the first PF of the device.

The default is true promisc support is off, which means the promisc
mode for the VF will be limited/defport mode.

For the PF, we still will be in limited promisc unless in MFP mode
irrespective of the flavor picked through this knob.

Usage:
On PF0
ethtool --show-priv-flags p261p1
Private flags for p261p1:
MFP                    : off
LinkPolling            : off
flow-director-atr      : on
veb-stats              : off
hw-atr-eviction        : off
vf-true-promisc-support: off

to enable setting true promisc
ethtool --set-priv-flags p261p1 vf-true-promisc-support on

At this point if the VF is set to trust and promisc is enabled
on the VF through
ip link set ... promisc on
The VF/VFs will be able to see ALL ingress traffic

06c0e39bbe i40e: Add support for disabling all link and change bits needed for PHY interactions
Add flag to tell firmware to disable link on all ports.

This patch changes the bits set for telling firmware the PHY needs
to be modified by driver.  Without this patch, the setting will only
set that mode for the current port on the device.  Because the
MDIO interface is common for the copper device. The command needs to
set the mode for all ports.

147e81ec75 i40e: Test memory before ethtool alloc succeeds
When testing on systems with very limited amounts of RAM, a bug was
found where, while changing the number of descriptors using ethtool,
the driver didn't test the limits of system memory before permanently
assuming it would be able to get receive buffer memory.

Work around this issue by pre-allocation of the receive buffer
memory, in the "ghost" ring, which is then used during reinit
using the new ring length.

1a557afc4d i40e: Refactor receive routine
This is part 1 of the Rx refactor series, just including
changes to i40e.

This refactor aligns the receive routine with the one in
ixgbe which was highly optimized.  This reduces the code
we have to maintain and allows for (hopefully) more readable
and maintainable RX hot path.

In order to do this:
- consolidate the receive path into a single function that doesn't
  use packet split but *does* use pages for Rx buffers.
- remove the old _1buf routine
- consolidate several routines into helper functions
- remove ethtool control over packet split

08ca38742b i40e: call ndo_stop() instead of dev_close() when running offline selftest
Calling dev_close() causes IFF_UP to be cleared which will remove the
interfaces routes and some addresses. That's probably not what the user
intended when running the offline selftest. Besides this does not happen
if the interface is brought down before the test, so the current
behaviour is inconsistent.
Instead call the net_device_ops ndo_stop function directly and avoid
touching IFF_UP at all.

a75e8005d5 i40e: queue-specific settings for interrupt moderation
For i40e driver, each vector has its own ITR register. However, there
are no concept of queue-specific settings in the driver proper. Only
global variable is used to store ITR values. That will cause problems
especially when resetting the vector. The specific ITR values could be
lost.
This patch move rx_itr_setting and tx_itr_setting to i40e_ring to store
specific ITR register for each queue.
i40e_get_coalesce and i40e_set_coalesce are also modified accordingly to
support queue-specific settings. To make it compatible with old ethtool,
if user doesn't specify the queue number, i40e_get_coalesce will return
queue 0's value. While i40e_set_coalesce will apply value to all queues.

272cdaf247 i40e: Use the new rx ctl register helpers. Don't use AQ calls from clear_hw.
Use the new AdminQ functions for safely accessing the Rx control
registers that may be affected by heavy small packet traffic.

We can't use AdminQ calls in i40e_clear_hw() because the HW is being
initialized and the AdminQ is not alive.  We recently added an AQ
related replacement for reading PFLAN_QALLOC, and this patch puts
back the original register read.

31b606d0c4 i40e: Fix led blink capability for 10GBaseT PHY
This patch fixes a problem where the ethtool identify adapter
functionality did not work for some copper PHY's.  Without this
patch, the blink led functionality fails on some parts.  This
patch adds PHY write code to blink led's on parts where this
functionality is contained in the PHY rather than the MAC.

dd353109e4 i40e: Add a SW workaround for lost interrupts
This patch adds a workaround for cases where we might have
interrupts that got lost but WB happened.
If that happens without this patch we will see a tx_timeout.
To work around it, this patch goes ahead and reschedules NAPI
in that situation, if NAPI is not already scheduled.
We also add a counter in ethtool to keep track of when
we detect a case of tx_lost_interrupt.

Note: napi_reschedule() can be safely called from process/service_task
context and is done in other drivers as well without an issue.
