43696b3a9e rtc: isl1208: Update correct procedure for clearing alarm
As per the latest HW manual[1], there is an internal delay(~250 microsec)
from setting ALME = 0 to disabling the alarm function, so the user must
add a short delay of greater than 250µs between setting ALME = 0 and
clearing ALM.

Currently setting of ALME = 0 is done after clearing the ALM, so just
reverse the operation and add a delay of 275 microsec.

0dbd610c42 rtc: isl1208: Add a delay for clearing alarm
As per the latest HW manual[1], the INT# output is pulled low after the
alarm is triggered. After the INT# output is pulled low, it is low for at
least 250ms, even if the correct action is taken to clear it. It is
impossible to clear ALM if it is still active. The host must wait for the
RTC to progress past the alarm time plus the 250ms delay before clearing
ALM.

70f1ae5f0e rtc: isl1208: Fix return value of nvmem callbacks

48144c2890 rtc: Explicitly include correct DT includes
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

As per the HW manual, set the XTOSCB bit as follows:

If using an external clock signal, set the XTOSCB bit as 1 to

If using an external crystal, the XTOSCB bit needs to be set at 0
to enable the crystal oscillator.

Add isl1208_set_xtoscb() to set XTOSCB bit based on the clock-names

fdcfd85433 rtc: rework rtc_register_device() resource management
rtc_register_device() is a managed interface but it doesn't use devres
by itself - instead it marks an rtc_device as "registered" and the devres
callback for devm_rtc_allocate_device() takes care of resource release.

This doesn't correspond with the design behind devres where managed
structures should not be aware of being managed. The correct solution
here is to register a separate devres callback for unregistering the
device.

While at it: rename rtc_register_device() to devm_rtc_register_device()
and add it to the list of managed interfaces in devres.rst. This way we
can avoid any potential confusion of driver developers who may expect
there to exist a corresponding unregister function.

c3544f6f51 rtc: isl1208: Add new style nvmem support to driver
Add support for the RTC's NVRAM using the standard nvmem support that is
part of the Linux RTC framework.

This driver already has a sysfs attribute that provides access to the
RTC's NVRAM as a single 16-bit value. Some chips have more than two
bytes of NVRAM, so this will not work for them. It's also non-standard.

This sysfs attribute is left in for backward compatibility, but will only
be able to read the first two bytes of NVRAM. The nvmem interface will
allow access to all NVRAM, e.g. eight bytes on the isl1218.

72fca4a4b3 drivers/rtc/rtc-isl1208.c: call rtc_update_irq() from the alarm irq handler

those additional registers, but only adds the chip name to the list.

3760f73671 i2c: Convert most new-style drivers to use module aliasing
Based on earlier work by Jon Smirl and Jochen Friedrich.

Update most new-style i2c drivers to use standard module aliasing
instead of the old driver_name/type driver matching scheme. I've
left the video drivers apart (except for SoC camera drivers) as
they're a bit more diffcult to deal with, they'll have their own
patch later.

Based on earlier work by Jon Smirl and Jochen Friedrich.

point, the old i2c driver binding scheme (driver_name/type) is still
supported.
