Since commit b1f66033cd ("platform/x86: amd-pmc: Move to later in the
suspend process") amd-pmc doesn't use traditional suspend resume
callback anymore but relies on functions only created declared when
CONFIG_SUSPEND is set.
Check for CONFIG_SUSPEND and only use those functions in those
circumstances.

Debugfs console_log uses devm memory (e.g. debug_info in
cros_ec_console_log_poll()). However, lifecycles of device and debugfs
are independent. An use-after-free issue is observed if userland
program operates the debugfs after the memory has been freed.
The call trace:
do_raw_spin_lock
_raw_spin_lock_irqsave
remove_wait_queue
ep_unregister_pollwait
ep_remove
do_epoll_ctl
A Python example to reproduce the issue:
... import select
... p = select.epoll()
... f = open('/sys/kernel/debug/cros_scp/console_log')
... p.register(f, select.POLLIN)
... p.poll(1)
[(4, 1)] # 4=fd, 1=select.POLLIN
[ shutdown cros_scp at the point ]
... p.poll(1)
[(4, 16)] # 4=fd, 16=select.POLLHUP
... p.unregister(f)
An use-after-free issue raises here. It called epoll_ctl with
EPOLL_CTL_DEL which in turn to use the workqueue in the devm (i.e.
log_wq).
Detaches log reader's workqueue from devm to make sure it is persistent
even if the device has been removed.

cros_ec_trace.h defined 5 tracing events, 2 for cros_ec_proto and
3 for cros_ec_sensorhub_ring.
These 2 files are in different kernel modules, the traces are defined
twice in the kernel which leads to problem enabling only some traces.
Move sensorhub traces from cros_ec_trace.h to cros_ec_sensorhub_trace.h
and enable them only in cros_ec_sensorhub kernel module.
Check we can now enable any single traces: without this patch,
we can only enable all sensorhub traces or none.

causing updates to most SPI device drivers. The branch with that on has
been cross merged with a couple of other trees which added new SPI

platform_get_resource(pdev, IORESOURCE_IRQ, ..) relies on static
allocation of IRQ resources in DT core code, this causes an issue
when using hierarchical interrupt domains using "interrupts" property
in the node as this bypasses the hierarchical setup and messes up the
irq chaining.
In preparation for removal of static setup of IRQ resource from DT core
code use platform_get_irq().

Implementation of certificate authentication feature for Lenovo
platforms. This allows for signed updates of BIOS settings.
Functionality supported:
- Cert support available check. At initialisation check if BIOS
supports certification authentication and if a certificate is
installed. Enable the sysfs nodes appropriately
- certificate and signature authentication attributes to enable
a user to install, update and delete a certificate using signed
signatures
- certificate_thumbprint to confirm installed certificate details
- support to go from certificate to password based authentication
- signature and save_signature attributes needed for setting BIOS
attributes using certificate authentication.
Tested on X1 Carbon G10 and X1 Yoga G7. This feature is not
generally available yet but will be released later this year.
Note, I also cleaned up the formating of the GUIDs when I was adding
the new defines. Hope that's OK to combine in this commit.

of the `noirq` stage of `amd_pmc`. As `amd_pmc` has been pushed to the

The `OS_HINT` message is supposed to indicate that everything else
that is supposed to go into the deepest state has done so.
This assumption is invalid as:
1) The CPUs will still go in and out of the deepest state
2) Other devices may still run their `noirq` suspend routines
3) The LPS0 ACPI device will still run
To more closely mirror how this works on other operating systems,
move the `amd-pmc` suspend to the very last thing before the s2idle
loop via an lps0 callback.

for v1 thermal policies that are in use on some devices.
We obtain the thermal policy version by querying the get system

except if the system board DMI Board ID is in a specific array

The purpose of this patch is to remove 128 bytes buffer limitation
imposed in bios_args structure.
A limiting factor discovered during this investigation was the struct
bios_args.data size restriction. The data member size limits all
possible WMI commands to those requiring buffer size of 128 bytes or
less. Several WMI commands and queries require a buffer size larger
than 128 bytes hence limiting current and feature supported by the
driver. It is for this reason, struct bios_args.data changed and is
dynamically allocated. hp_wmi_perform_query function changed to
handle the memory allocation and release of any required buffer size.
All changes were validated on a HP ZBook Workstation notebook,
HP EliteBook x360, and HP EliteBook 850 G8. Additional
validation was included in the test process to ensure no other
commands were incorrectly handled.

Several WMI queries leverage hp_wmi_read_int function to read their
data. hp_wmi_read_int function was corrected in a previous patch.
Now, this function invokes hp_wmi_perform_query with input parameter
of size zero and the output buffer of size 4.
WMI commands calling hp_wmi_perform_query with input buffer size value
of zero are listed below.
HPWMI_DISPLAY_QUERY
HPWMI_HDDTEMP_QUERY
HPWMI_ALS_QUERY
HPWMI_HARDWARE_QUERY
HPWMI_WIRELESS_QUERY

HPWMI_FEATURE2_QUERY

Invoking those WMI commands with an input buffer size greater
than zero will cause error 0x05 to be returned.
All WMI commands executed by the driver were reviewed and changes
were made to ensure the expected input and output buffer size match
the WMI specification.

The purpose of this patch is to introduce a fix and removal of the
current hack when determining tablet mode status.
Determining the tablet mode status requires reading Byte 0 bit 2 as
reported by HPWMI_HARDWARE_QUERY. The investigation identified the
failure was rooted in two areas: HPWMI_HARDWARE_QUERY failure (0x05)
and reading Byte 0, bit 2 only to determine the table mode status.
HPWMI_HARDWARE_QUERY WMI failure also rendered the dock state value
invalid.
The latest changes use SMBIOS Type 3 (chassis type) and WMI Command
0x40 (device_mode_status) information to determine if the device is
in tablet mode or not.
hp_wmi_hw_state function was split into two functions;
hp_wmi_get_dock_state and hp_wmi_get_tablet_mode. The new functions
separate how dock_state and tablet_mode is handled in a cleaner
manner.

HPWMI_DISPLAY_QUERY

These tablets' DSDT does not set acpi_gbl_reduced_hardware, so
acpi_power_off gets used as pm_power_off handler. Not setting
acpi_gbl_reduced_hardware may very well be correct for these tablets,
but acpi_power_off is broken on them.
Using acpi_power_off causes "poweroff" to hang hard. Requiring pressing
the powerbutton for 30 seconds *twice* followed by a normal 3 second

Avoid this by overriding the global pm_power_off handler to do
an EFI poweroff, which does work, instead.

The Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 series comes in 4 versions: 830F, 830L, 1050F and
1050L. The F postfix indicates a wifi only version and the L postfix
indicates a LTE version. The 830 models are 8" and the 1050 models are 10".
Despite there being 8" and 10" versions all models use the same mainboard,
with an identical BIOS and thus identical DMI strings, so support for all
4 models is added through a single DMI table entry.
As all devices dealt with in the x86-android-tablets modules, these are
x86 ACPI tablets which ships with Android x86 as factory OS.
The mainboard's DSDT contain a bunch of I2C devices which are not actually
there, causing various resource conflicts. Enumeration of these is skipped
through the acpi_quirk_skip_i2c_client_enumeration().
Add support for manually instantiating the I2C devices which are
actually present on this tablet by adding the necessary device info to
the x86-android-tablets module.
This has been tested on a 830F and a 1050L tablet.

because they are used as ACPI "Interrupt () {}" resource for one of the

This is an issue if the existing (bogus) ACPI resource uses different

Fix this by calling acpi_unregister_gsi() first, so that

Instead of having quirks for systems that have a second fan it would
be nice to detect this setup.
Unfortunately, confirmed by the Lenovo FW team, there is no way to
retrieve this information from the EC or BIOS. Recommendation was to
attempt to read the fan and if successful then assume a 2nd fan is
present.
The fans are also supposed to spin up on boot for some time, so in
theory we could check for a speed > 0. In testing this seems to hold
true but as I couldn't test on all platforms I've avoided implementing
this. It also breaks for the corner case where you load the module
once the fans are idle.
Tested on P1G4, P1G3, X1C9 and T14 (no fans) and it works correctly.
For the platforms with dual fans where it was confirmed to work I have
removed the quirks. Potentially this could be done for all platforms
but I've left untested platforms in for now. On these platforms the
fans will be enabled and then detected - so no impact.

commit 59348401eb ("platform/x86: amd-pmc: Add special handling for
timer based S0i3 wakeup") adds support for using another platform timer
in lieu of the RTC which doesn't work properly on some systems. This path
was validated and worked well before submission. During the 5.16-rc1 merge
window other patches were merged that caused this to stop working properly.
When this feature was used with 5.16-rc1 or later some OEM laptops with the
matching firmware requirements from that commit would shutdown instead of
program a timer based wakeup.
This was bisected to commit 8d89835b04 ("PM: suspend: Do not pause
cpuidle in the suspend-to-idle path"). This wasn't supposed to cause any
negative impacts and also tested well on both Intel and ARM platforms.
However this changed the semantics of when CPUs are allowed to be in the
deepest state. For the AMD systems in question it appears this causes a
firmware crash for timer based wakeup.
It's hypothesized to be caused by the `amd-pmc` driver sending `OS_HINT`
and all the CPUs going into a deep state while the timer is still being
programmed. It's likely a firmware bug, but to avoid it don't allow setting
CPUs into the deepest state while using CZN timer wakeup path.
If later it's discovered that this also occurs from "regular" suspends
without a timer as well or on other silicon, this may be later expanded to
run in the suspend path for more scenarios.

Intel Software Defined Silicon (SDSi) is a post manufacturing mechanism for
activating additional silicon features. Features are enabled through a
license activation process. The SDSi driver provides a per socket, sysfs
attribute interface for applications to perform 3 main provisioning
functions:
1. Provision an Authentication Key Certificate (AKC), a key written to
internal NVRAM that is used to authenticate a capability specific
activation payload.
2. Provision a Capability Activation Payload (CAP), a token authenticated
using the AKC and applied to the CPU configuration to activate a new
feature.
3. Read the SDSi State Certificate, containing the CPU configuration
state.
The operations perform function specific mailbox commands that forward the
requests to SDSi hardware to perform authentication of the payloads and
enable the silicon configuration (to be made available after power
cycling).
The SDSi device itself is enumerated as an auxiliary device from the
intel_vsec driver and as such has a build dependency on CONFIG_INTEL_VSEC.

Now that there is only 1 c-file left of the intel_cht_int33fe code,
move it to the intel directory instead of it having its own int33fe
sub-directory.
Note this also renames the module from intel_cht_int33fe_typec to
intel_chtwc_int33fe, to better match the names of other PMIC related
modules like the intel_chtdc_ti_pwrbtn module.

Move the Lenovo Yogabook YB1-X9x fuel-gauge instantiation code over to
the x86-android-tablets module, which already deals with this for various
other devices.
This removes the need to have a special intel_cht_int33fe_microb module
just for Lenovo Yogabook YB1-X9x laptops.

The intel_cht_int33fe driver is intended to deal with ACPI INT33FE
firmware-nodes on Cherry Trail devices with a Whiskey Cove PMIC.
The original version of the driver only dealt with the GPD win and
GPD pocket boards where the WC PMIC is connected to a TI BQ24292i charger,
paired with a Maxim MAX17047 fuelgauge + a FUSB302 USB Type-C Controller +
a PI3USB30532 USB switch, for a fully functional Type-C port.
Later it was split into a Type-C and a Micro-B variant to deal with
the Lenovo Yoga Book YB1-X90 / Lenovo Yoga Book YB1-X91 boards where
the ACPI INT33FE firmware-node only describes the TI BQ27542 fuelgauge.
Currently the driver differentiates between these 2 models by counting
the number of I2cSerialBus resources in the firmware-node.
There are a number of problems with this approach:
1. The driver autoloads based on the acpi:INT33FE modalias causing it
to get loaded on almost all Bay Trail and Cherry Trail devices. It
checks for the presence of a WC PMIC, so it won't bind but the loading
still wastes time and memory.
2. Both code paths in the driver are really only designed for a single
board and have harcoded various assumptions about these boards, if
another design matching the current checks ever shows up the driver
may end up doing something completely wrong.
Avoid both issues by switching to using DMI based autoloading of
the module, which has neither of these problems.
Note this splits the previous intel_cht_int33fe kernel module into two
modules: intel_cht_int33fe_typec and intel_cht_int33fe_microb, one for
each model.

Minor charger / fuel-gauge improvements:
1. Make some of the names of charger / fuel-gauge related globals more
generic in preparation for also using them on other boards.
2. Update the dev_name on the Asus ME176C and TF103C to reflect that these
are using the bq24297 variant of the bq24190 family.
3. During review of the ug3105 driver the "upi,rsns-microohm" property was
renamed to "upisemi,rsns-microohm" as "upisemi" is the correct vendor
prefix, update the ug3105 properties accordingly.

The Nextbook Ares 8 is a x86 ACPI tablet which ships with Android x86
as factory OS. Its DSDT contains a bunch of I2C devices which are not
actually there, causing various resource conflicts. Enumeration of these
is skipped through the acpi_quirk_skip_i2c_client_enumeration().
Add support for manually instantiating the I2C devices which are
actually present on this tablet by adding the necessary device info to
the x86-android-tablets module.

The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored.
(Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the
error is ignored.)
So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This
way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to
the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly.
There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to
return 0 before.

Moreover, 's3_wmi' is a global variable. 's3_wmi.input' should be NULL

The ACPI device with CSC3551 or CLSA0100 are sound cards
with multiple instances of CS35L41 connected by I2C or SPI
to the main CPU.
We add an ID to the ignore_serial_bus_ids list to enumerate
all I2C or SPI devices correctly.
The same IDs are also added into serial-multi-instantiate
so that the driver can correctly enumerate the ACPI.

Add support for spi bus in serial-multi-instantiate driver
Some peripherals can have either a I2C or a SPI connection
to the host (but not both) but use the same HID for both
types. So it is not possible to use the HID to determine
whether it is I2C or SPI. The driver must check the node
to see if it contains I2cSerialBus or SpiSerialBus entries.
For backwards-compatibility with the existing nodes I2C is
checked first and if such entries are found ONLY I2C devices
are created. Since some existing nodes that were already
handled by this driver could also contain unrelated
SpiSerialBus nodes that were previously ignored, and this
preserves that behavior. If there is ever a need to handle
a node where both I2C and SPI devices must be instantiated
this can be added in future.

The Type C ACPI device on older Chromebooks is not generated correctly
(since their EC firmware doesn't support the new commands required). In
such cases, the crafted ACPI device doesn't have an EC parent, and it is
therefore not useful (it shouldn't be generated in the first place since
the EC firmware doesn't support any of the Type C commands).
To handle devices which use these older firmware revisions, check for
the parent EC device handle, and fail the probe if it's not found.

This commit adds checking of the functional capabilities returned by the

Yellow carp has been outputting versions like `1093.24.0`, but this
is supposed to be 69.24.0. That is the MSB is being interpreted
incorrectly.
The MSB is not part of the major version, but has generally been
treated that way thus far. It's actually the program, and used to
distinguish between two programs from a similar family but different
codebase.

The call sequence suggested that misc_device /dev file can be opened
before misc device is yet to be registered, which is done only once.
Here punit_misc_dev_lock was used as common lock, to protect the
registration by multiple ISST HW drivers, one time setup, prevent
duplicate registry of misc device and prevent load/unload when device
is open.
We can split into locks:
- One which just prevent duplicate call to misc_register() and one
time setup. Also never call again if the misc_register() failed or
required one time setup is failed. This lock is not shared with
any misc device callbacks.
- The other lock protects registry, load and unload of HW drivers.
Sequence in isst_if_cdev_register()
- Register callbacks under punit_misc_dev_open_lock
- Call isst_misc_reg() which registers misc_device on the first
registry which is under punit_misc_dev_reg_lock, which is not
shared with callbacks.
Sequence in isst_if_cdev_unregister
Just opposite of isst_if_cdev_register

The driver as originally submitted accidentally relied on Android having
run before and Android having unmasked the 2nd level IRQ-mask for the
charger IRQ. This worked since these are PMIC registers which are only
reset when the battery is fully drained or disconnected.
Fix the charger IRQ no longer working after loss of battery power by
properly setting the 2nd level IRQ-mask for the charger IRQ.
Note this removes the need to enable/disable our parent IRQ which just
sets the mask bit in the 1st level IRQ-mask register, setting one of
the 2 level masks is enough to stop the IRQ from getting reported.

Some ThinkPad models, like the X1 Tablet 1st and 2nd Gen, are passively
cooled without any fan. Currently, an entry in /proc/acpi/ibm/fan is
nevertheless created, and misleadingly shows
status: enabled
speed: 65535
level: auto
This patch adds a TPACPI_FAN_NOFAN quirk definition and corresponding
handling to not initialize a fan interface at all.
For the time being, the quirk is only applied for X1 Tablet 2nd Gen
(types 20JB, 20JC; EC N1O...); further models (such as Gen1, types 20GG
and 20GH) can be added easily once tested.
Tested on a 20JCS00C00, BIOS N1OET58W (1.43), EC N1OHT34W.

This adds the ACPI driver for the ChromeOS privacy screen that is
present on some chromeos devices.
Note that ideally, we'd want this privacy screen driver to be probed
BEFORE the drm probe in order to avoid a drm probe deferral:
https://hansdegoede.livejournal.com/25948.html
In practise, I found that ACPI drivers are bound to their devices AFTER
the drm probe on chromebooks. So on chromebooks with privacy-screen,
this patch along with the other one in this series results in a probe
deferral of about 250ms for i915 driver. However, it did not result in
any user noticeable delay of splash screen in my personal experience.
In future if this probe deferral turns out to be an issue, we can
consider turning this ACPI driver into something that is probed
earlier than the drm drivers.

Allow a privacy screen provider to stash its private data pointer in the
drm_privacy_screen, and update the drm_privacy_screen_register() call to
accept that. Also introduce a *_get_drvdata() so that it can retrieved
back when needed.
This also touches the IBM Thinkpad platform driver, the only user of
privacy screen today, to pass NULL for now to the updated API.

Add a driver for the keyboard, touchpad and USB port of
the keyboard dock for the Asus TF103C 2-in-1 tablet.
This keyboard dock has its own I2C attached embedded controller
and the keyboard and touchpad are also connected over I2C,
instead of using the usual USB connection. This means that the
keyboard dock requires this special driver to function.

The whitelabel (sold as various brands) TM800A550L tablets's DSDT contains
a whole bunch of bogus ACPI I2C devices and the ACPI node describing
the touchscreen is bad (the IRQ is missing). Enumeration of these is
skipped through the acpi_quirk_skip_i2c_client_enumeration().

adding the necessary device info to the x86-android-tablets module,

The Crystal Cove PMIC has a pin which can be used to connect the IRQ of
an external charger IC. On some boards this is used so we need a way to
look this up.
Note that the Intel PMICs have 2 levels of interrupts and thus
2 levels of IRQ domains all tied to a single fwnode.
Level 1 is the irqchip which demultiplexes the actual PMIC interrupt into
interrupts for the various MFD cells. Level 2 are the irqchips used in the
cell drivers which themselves export IRQs, such as the crystal_cove_gpio
driver, which de-multiplexes the level 2 interrupts for the GPIOs into
individual per GPIO IRQs.
The crystal_cove_charger driver registers an irqchip with a single IRQ for
the charger driver to consume. Note the MFD cell IRQ cannot be consumed
directly because the level 2 interrupts must be explicitly acked.
To allow finding the right IRQ domain when looking up the IRQ for
the charger, the crystal_cove_charger driver sets a DOMAIN_BUS_WIRED token
on its IRQ domain.
Add support for looking up the IRQ from the crystal_cove_charger driver.

The Glavey TM800A550L tablet is a tablet which ships with Android as
factory OS. As such it has the typical broken DSDT which x86 Android
tablets tend to have.
Specifically the touchscreen ACPI device node is missing the IRQ for
the touchscreen. So far users were expected to fix this with a DSDT
overlay, but support for the TM800A550L has been added to the new
x86-android-modules kernel-module and that will now automatically
instantiate a proper i2c-client with the IRQ set for the touchscreen,
including the necessary device-properties for the firmware loading.
This means that the touchscreen_dmi entry for the TM800A550L is
no longer necessary (and it no longer matches either since the
touchscreen is no longer enumerated through ACPI), remove it.

The firmware distributed as part of the Windows and Android drivers uses
significantly different min and max values for the x- and y-axis,
compared to the EFI's embedded touchscreen firmware.
The difference is large enough that e.g. typing on an onscreen keyboard
results in the wrong "keys" getting pressed.
Adjust the values to match those of the firmware distributed with the
Windows and Android drivers (which is necessary for pen support) and
put the EFI-fw version's min/max values in the new "silead,efi-fw-min-max"
property. The silead driver will use these when it is using the
EFI embedded firmware, so as to not regress functionality in that case.

Driver for the external-charger IRQ pass-through function of the
Intel Bay Trail Crystal Cove PMIC.
Note this is NOT a power_supply class driver, it just deals with IRQ
pass-through, this requires this separate driver because the PMIC's
level 2 interrupt for this must be explicitly acked.
This new driver gets enabled by the existing X86_ANDROID_TABLETS Kconfig

x86 tablets which ship with Android as (part of) the factory image
typically have various problems with their DSDTs. The factory kernels
shipped on these devices typically have device addresses and GPIOs
hardcoded in the kernel, rather then specified in their DSDT.
With the DSDT containing a random collection of devices which may or
may not actually be present as well as missing devices which are
actually present.
This driver, which loads only on affected models based on DMI matching,
adds DMI based instantiating of kernel devices for devices which are
missing from the DSDT, fixing e.g. battery monitoring, touchpads and/or
accelerometers not working.
Note the Kconfig help text also refers to "various fixes" ATM there are
no such fixes, but there are also known cases where entries are present
in the DSDT but they contain bugs, such as missing/wrong GPIOs. The plan
is to also add fixes for things like this here in the future.
This is the least ugly option to get these devices to fully work and to
do so without adding any extra code to the main kernel image (vmlinuz)
when built as a module.

Intel Platform Monitoring Technology (PMT) support is indicated by presence
of an Intel defined PCIe Designated Vendor Specific Extended Capabilities
(DVSEC) structure with a PMT specific ID. The current MFD implementation
creates child devices for each PMT feature, currently telemetry, watcher,
and crashlog. However DVSEC structures may also be used by Intel to
indicate support for other features. The Out Of Band Management Services
Module (OOBMSM) uses DVSEC to enumerate several features, including PMT.
In order to support them it is necessary to modify the intel_pmt driver to
handle the creation of the child devices more generically. To that end,
modify the driver to create child devices for any VSEC/DVSEC features on
supported devices (indicated by PCI ID). Additionally, move the
implementation from MFD to the Auxiliary bus. VSEC/DVSEC features are
really multifunctional PCI devices, not platform devices as MFD was
designed for. Auxiliary bus gives more flexibility by allowing the
definition of custom structures that can be shared between associated
auxiliary devices and the parent device. Also, rename the driver from
intel_pmt to intel_vsec to better reflect the purpose.
This series also removes the current runtime pm support which was not
complete to begin with. None of the current devices require runtime pm.
However the support will be replaced when a device is added that requires
it.
