aa18e0e658 s390/vmemmap: take the vmem_mutex when populating/freeing
Let's synchronize all accesses to the 1:1 and vmemmap mappings. This will
be especially relevant when wanting to cleanup empty page tables that could
be shared by both. Avoid races when removing tables that might be just
about to get reused.

3e0d3e408e s390/vmem: consolidate vmem_add_range() and vmem_remove_range()
We want to have only a single pagetable walker and reuse the same
functionality for vmemmap handling. Let's start by consolidating
vmem_add_range() and vmem_remove_range(), converting it into a
recursive implementation.

A recursive implementation makes it easier to expand individual cases
without harming readability. In addition, we minimize traversing the
whole hierarchy over and over again.

One change is that we don't unmap large PMDs/PUDs when not completely
covered by the request, something that should never happen with direct
mappings, unless one would be removing in other granularity than added,
which would be broken already.

05a68e892e s390/kernel: expand exception table logic to allow new handling options
This is a s390 port of commit 548acf1923 ("x86/mm: Expand the
exception table logic to allow new handling options"), which is needed
for implementing BPF_PROBE_MEM on s390.

The new handler field is made 64-bit in order to allow pointing from
dynamically allocated entries to handlers in kernel text. Unlike on x86,
NULL is used instead of ex_handler_default. This is because exception
tables are used by boot/text_dma.S, and it would be a pain to preserve
ex_handler_default.

The new infrastructure is ignored in early_pgm_check_handler, since
there is no pt_regs.

f05f62d042 s390/vmem: get rid of memory segment list
I can't come up with a satisfying reason why we still need the memory
segment list. We used to represent in the list:
- boot memory
- standby memory added via add_memory()
- loaded dcss segments

When loading/unloading dcss segments, we already track them in a
separate list and check for overlaps
(arch/s390/mm/extmem.c:segment_overlaps_others()) when loading segments.

The overlap check was introduced for some segments in
commit b2300b9efe ("[S390] dcssblk: add >2G DCSSs support and stacked
contiguous DCSSs support.")
and was extended to cover all dcss segments in
commit ca57114609 ("s390/extmem: remove code for 31 bit addressing
mode").

Although I doubt that overlaps with boot memory and standby memory
are relevant, let's reshuffle the checks in load_segment() to request
the resource first. This will bail out in case we have overlaps with
other resources (esp. boot memory and standby memory). The order
is now different compared to segment_unload() and segment_unload(), but
that should not matter.

This smells like a leftover from ancient times, let's get rid of it. We
can now convert vmem_remove_mapping() into a void function - everybody
ignored the return value already.

974b9b2c68 mm: consolidate pte_index() and pte_offset_*() definitions
All architectures define pte_index() as

	(address >> PAGE_SHIFT) & (PTRS_PER_PTE - 1)

and all architectures define pte_offset_kernel() as an entry in the array
of PTEs indexed by the pte_index().

For the most architectures the pte_offset_kernel() implementation relies
on the availability of pmd_page_vaddr() that converts a PMD entry value to
the virtual address of the page containing PTEs array.

Let's move x86 definitions of the PTE accessors to the generic place in
<linux/pgtable.h> and then simply drop the respective definitions from the
other architectures.

The architectures that didn't provide pmd_page_vaddr() are updated to have
that defined.

The generic implementation of pte_offset_kernel() can be overridden by an
architecture and alpha makes use of this because it has special ordering
requirements for its version of pte_offset_kernel().

e31cf2f4ca mm: don't include asm/pgtable.h if linux/mm.h is already included
Patch series "mm: consolidate definitions of page table accessors", v2.

The low level page table accessors (pXY_index(), pXY_offset()) are
duplicated across all architectures and sometimes more than once. For
instance, we have 31 definition of pgd_offset() for 25 supported
architectures.

Most of these definitions are actually identical and typically it boils
down to, e.g.

static inline unsigned long pmd_index(unsigned long address)
{
        return (address >> PMD_SHIFT) & (PTRS_PER_PMD - 1);
}

static inline pmd_t *pmd_offset(pud_t *pud, unsigned long address)
{
        return (pmd_t *)pud_page_vaddr(*pud) + pmd_index(address);
}

These definitions can be shared among 90% of the arches provided
XYZ_SHIFT, PTRS_PER_XYZ and xyz_page_vaddr() are defined.

For architectures that really need a custom version there is always
possibility to override the generic version with the usual ifdefs magic.

These patches introduce include/linux/pgtable.h that replaces
include/asm-generic/pgtable.h and add the definitions of the page table
accessors to the new header.

This patch (of 12):

The linux/mm.h header includes <asm/pgtable.h> to allow inlining of the
functions involving page table manipulations, e.g. pte_alloc() and
pmd_alloc(). So, there is no point to explicitly include <asm/pgtable.h>
in the files that include <linux/mm.h>.

The include statements in such cases are remove with a simple loop:

	for f in $(git grep -l "include <linux/mm.h>") ; do
		sed -i -e '/include <asm\/pgtable.h>/ d' $f
	done

359f25443a hugetlbfs: move hugepagesz= parsing to arch independent code
Now that architectures provide arch_hugetlb_valid_size(), parsing of
"hugepagesz=" can be done in architecture independent code. Create a
single routine to handle hugepagesz= parsing and remove all arch specific
routines. We can also remove the interface hugetlb_bad_size() as this is
no longer used outside arch independent code.

This also provides consistent behavior of hugetlbfs command line options.
The hugepagesz= option should only be specified once for a specific size,
but some architectures allow multiple instances. This appears to be more
of an oversight when code was added by some architectures to set up ALL
huge pages sizes.

ae94da8981 hugetlbfs: add arch_hugetlb_valid_size
Patch series "Clean up hugetlb boot command line processing", v4.

Longpeng(Mike) reported a weird message from hugetlb command line
processing and proposed a solution [1]. While the proposed patch does
address the specific issue, there are other related issues in command line
processing. As hugetlbfs evolved, updates to command line processing have
been made to meet immediate needs and not necessarily in a coordinated
manner. The result is that some processing is done in arch specific code,
some is done in arch independent code and coordination is problematic.
Semantics can vary between architectures.

The patch series does the following:
- Define arch specific arch_hugetlb_valid_size routine used to validate
  passed huge page sizes.
- Move hugepagesz= command line parsing out of arch specific code and into
  an arch independent routine.
- Clean up command line processing to follow desired semantics and
  document those semantics.

[1] https://lore.kernel.org/linux-mm/20200305033014.1152-1-longpeng2@huawei.com

This patch (of 3):

The architecture independent routine hugetlb_default_setup sets up the
default huge pages size. It has no way to verify if the passed value is
valid, so it accepts it and attempts to validate at a later time. This
requires undocumented cooperation between the arch specific and arch
independent code.

For architectures that support more than one huge page size, provide a
routine arch_hugetlb_valid_size to validate a huge page size.
hugetlb_default_setup can use this to validate passed values.

arch_hugetlb_valid_size will also be used in a subsequent patch to move
processing of the "hugepagesz=" in arch specific code to a common routine
in arch independent code.

ac8372f3b4 s390/mm: fix set_huge_pte_at() for empty ptes
On s390, the layout of normal and large ptes (i.e. pmds/puds) differs.
Therefore, set_huge_pte_at() does a conversion from a normal pte to
the corresponding large pmd/pud. So, when converting an empty pte, this
should result in an empty pmd/pud, which would return true for
pmd/pud_none().

However, after conversion we also mark the pmd/pud as large, and
therefore present. For empty ptes, this will result in an empty pmd/pud
that is also marked as large, and pmd/pud_none() would not return true.

There is currently no issue with this behaviour, as set_huge_pte_at()
does not seem to be called for empty ptes. It would be valid though, so
let's fix this by not marking empty ptes as large in set_huge_pte_at().

This was found by testing a patch from from Anshuman Khandual, which is
currently discussed on LKML ("mm/debug: Add more arch page table helper
tests").

is rather hairy in terms of the BPF interaction, copy the input to and

316ec15481 s390/mm: fix page table upgrade vs 2ndary address mode accesses
A page table upgrade in a kernel section that uses secondary address
mode will mess up the kernel instructions as follows:

Consider the following scenario: two threads are sharing memory.
On CPU1 thread 1 does e.g. strnlen_user(). That gets to
        old_fs = enable_sacf_uaccess();
        len = strnlen_user_srst(src, size);
and
                "   la    %2,0(%1)\n"
                "   la    %3,0(%0,%1)\n"
                "   slgr  %0,%0\n"
                "   sacf  256\n"
                "0: srst  %3,%2\n"
in strnlen_user_srst(). At that point we are in secondary space mode,
control register 1 points to kernel page table and instruction fetching
happens via c1, rather than usual c13. Interrupts are not disabled, for
obvious reasons.

On CPU2 thread 2 does MAP_FIXED mmap(), forcing the upgrade of page table
from 3-level to e.g. 4-level one.  We'd allocated new top-level table,
set it up and now we hit this:
                notify = 1;
                spin_unlock_bh(&mm->page_table_lock);
        }
        if (notify)
                on_each_cpu(__crst_table_upgrade, mm, 0);
OK, we need to actually change over to use of new page table and we
need that to happen in all threads that are currently running. Which
happens to include the thread 1. IPI is delivered and we have
static void __crst_table_upgrade(void *arg)
{
        struct mm_struct *mm = arg;

        if (current->active_mm == mm)
                set_user_asce(mm);
        __tlb_flush_local();
}
run on CPU1.  That does
static inline void set_user_asce(struct mm_struct *mm)
{
        S390_lowcore.user_asce = mm->context.asce;
OK, user page table address updated...
        __ctl_load(S390_lowcore.user_asce, 1, 1);
... and control register 1 set to it.
        clear_cpu_flag(CIF_ASCE_PRIMARY);
}

IPI is run in home space mode, so it's fine - insns are fetched
using c13, which always points to kernel page table. But as soon
as we return from the interrupt, previous PSW is restored, putting
CPU1 back into secondary space mode, at which point we no longer
get the kernel instructions from the kernel mapping.

The fix is to only fixup the control registers that are currently in use
for user processes during the page table update. We must also disable
interrupts in enable_sacf_uaccess to synchronize the cr and
thread.mm_segment updates against the on_each-cpu.

bfeb022f8f mm/memory_hotplug: add pgprot_t to mhp_params
devm_memremap_pages() is currently used by the PCI P2PDMA code to create
struct page mappings for IO memory. At present, these mappings are
created with PAGE_KERNEL which implies setting the PAT bits to be WB.
However, on x86, an mtrr register will typically override this and force
the cache type to be UC-. In the case firmware doesn't set this
register it is effectively WB and will typically result in a machine
check exception when it's accessed.

Other arches are not currently likely to function correctly seeing they
don't have any MTRR registers to fall back on.

To solve this, provide a way to specify the pgprot value explicitly to
arch_add_memory().

Of the arches that support MEMORY_HOTPLUG: x86_64, and arm64 need a
simple change to pass the pgprot_t down to their respective functions
which set up the page tables. For x86_32, set the page tables
explicitly using _set_memory_prot() (seeing they are already mapped).

For ia64, s390 and sh, reject anything but PAGE_KERNEL settings -- this
should be fine, for now, seeing these architectures don't support
ZONE_DEVICE.

A check in __add_pages() is also added to ensure the pgprot parameter
was set for all arches.

6cb4d9a287 mm/vma: introduce VM_ACCESS_FLAGS
There are many places where all basic VMA access flags (read, write,
exec) are initialized or checked against as a group. One such example
is during page fault. Existing vma_is_accessible() wrapper already
creates the notion of VMA accessibility as a group access permissions.

Hence lets just create VM_ACCESS_FLAGS (VM_READ|VM_WRITE|VM_EXEC) which
will not only reduce code duplication but also extend the VMA
accessibility concept in general.

1493e0f944 KVM: s390: vsie: Fix possible race when shadowing region 3 tables
We have to properly retry again by returning -EINVAL immediately in case
somebody else instantiated the table concurrently. We missed to add the
goto in this function only. The code now matches the other, similar
shadowing functions.

We are overwriting an existing region 2 table entry. All allocated pages
are added to the crst_list to be freed later, so they are not lost
forever. However, when unshadowing the region 2 table, we wouldn't trigger
unshadowing of the original shadowed region 3 table that we replaced. It
would get unshadowed when the original region 3 table is modified. As it's
not connected to the page table hierarchy anymore, it's not going to get
used anymore. However, for a limited time, this page table will stick
around, so it's in some sense a temporary memory leak.

Identified by manual code inspection. I don't think this classifies as
stable material.

In case we have a region 1 the following calculation
(31 + ((gmap->asce & _ASCE_TYPE_MASK) >> 2)*11)
results in 64. As shifts beyond the size are undefined the compiler is
free to use instructions like sllg. sllg will only use 6 bits of the
shift value (here 64) resulting in no shift at all. That means that ALL
addresses will be rejected.

The can result in endless loops, e.g. when prefix cannot get mapped.

4064b98270 mm: allow VM_FAULT_RETRY for multiple times
The idea comes from a discussion between Linus and Andrea [1].

Before this patch we only allow a page fault to retry once. We achieved
this by clearing the FAULT_FLAG_ALLOW_RETRY flag when doing
handle_mm_fault() the second time. This was majorly used to avoid
unexpected starvation of the system by looping over forever to handle the
page fault on a single page. However that should hardly happen, and after
all for each code path to return a VM_FAULT_RETRY we'll first wait for a
condition (during which time we should possibly yield the cpu) to happen
before VM_FAULT_RETRY is really returned.

This patch removes the restriction by keeping the FAULT_FLAG_ALLOW_RETRY
flag when we receive VM_FAULT_RETRY. It means that the page fault handler
now can retry the page fault for multiple times if necessary without the
need to generate another page fault event. Meanwhile we still keep the
FAULT_FLAG_TRIED flag so page fault handler can still identify whether a
page fault is the first attempt or not.

Then we'll have these combinations of fault flags (only considering
ALLOW_RETRY flag and TRIED flag):

  - ALLOW_RETRY and !TRIED: this means the page fault allows to
                             retry, and this is the first try

  - ALLOW_RETRY and TRIED: this means the page fault allows to
                             retry, and this is not the first try

  - !ALLOW_RETRY and !TRIED: this means the page fault does not allow
                             to retry at all

  - !ALLOW_RETRY and TRIED: this is forbidden and should never be used

In existing code we have multiple places that has taken special care of
the first condition above by checking against (fault_flags &
FAULT_FLAG_ALLOW_RETRY). This patch introduces a simple helper to detect
the first retry of a page fault by checking against both (fault_flags &
FAULT_FLAG_ALLOW_RETRY) and !(fault_flag & FAULT_FLAG_TRIED) because now
even the 2nd try will have the ALLOW_RETRY set, then use that helper in
all existing special paths. One example is in __lock_page_or_retry(), now
we'll drop the mmap_sem only in the first attempt of page fault and we'll
keep it in follow up retries, so old locking behavior will be retained.

This will be a nice enhancement for current code [2] at the same time a
supporting material for the future userfaultfd-writeprotect work, since in
that work there will always be an explicit userfault writeprotect retry
for protected pages, and if that cannot resolve the page fault (e.g., when
userfaultfd-writeprotect is used in conjunction with swapped pages) then
we'll possibly need a 3rd retry of the page fault. It might also benefit
other potential users who will have similar requirement like userfault
write-protection.

GUP code is not touched yet and will be covered in follow up patch.

dde1607248 mm: introduce FAULT_FLAG_DEFAULT
Although there're tons of arch-specific page fault handlers, most of them
are still sharing the same initial value of the page fault flags. Say,
merely all of the page fault handlers would allow the fault to be retried,
and they also allow the fault to respond to SIGKILL.

Let's define a default value for the fault flags to replace those initial
page fault flags that were copied over. With this, it'll be far easier to
introduce new fault flag that can be used by all the architectures instead
of touching all the archs.

4ef873226c mm: introduce fault_signal_pending()
For most architectures, we've got a quick path to detect fatal signal
after a handle_mm_fault(). Introduce a helper for that quick path.

It cleans the current codes a bit so we don't need to duplicate the same
check across archs. More importantly, this will be an unified place that
we handle the signal immediately right after an interrupted page fault, so
it'll be much easier for us if we want to change the behavior of handling
signals later on for all the archs.

Note that currently only part of the archs are using this new helper,
because some archs have their own way to handle signals. In the follow up
patches, we'll try to apply this helper to all the rest of archs.

Another note is that the "regs" parameter in the new helper is not used
yet. It'll be used very soon. Now we kept it in this patch only to avoid
touching all the archs again in the follow up patches.

unmerge_ksm_pages returns -ERESTARTSYS on signal_pending. This gets
translated by entry.S to -EINTR. It is important to get this error
code so that userspace can retry.

To make this clearer we also add -EINTR to the documentation of the
PV_ENABLE call, which calls unmerge_ksm_pages.

0b38b5e1d0 s390: prevent leaking kernel address in BEAR
When userspace executes a syscall or gets interrupted,
BEAR contains a kernel address when returning to userspace.
This make it pretty easy to figure out where the kernel is
mapped even with KASLR enabled. To fix this, add lpswe to
lowcore and always execute it there, so userspace sees only
the lowcore address of lpswe. For this we have to extend
both critical_cleanup and the SWITCH_ASYNC macro to also check
for lpswe addresses in lowcore.

5f490a520b s390/mm: fix dynamic pagetable upgrade for hugetlbfs
Commit ee71d16d22 ("s390/mm: make TASK_SIZE independent from the number
of page table levels") changed the logic of TASK_SIZE and also removed the
arch_mmap_check() implementation for s390. This combination has a subtle
effect on how get_unmapped_area() for hugetlbfs pages works. It is now
possible that a user process establishes a hugetlbfs mapping at an address
above 4 TB, without triggering a dynamic pagetable upgrade from 3 to 4
levels.

This is because hugetlbfs mappings will not use mm->get_unmapped_area, but
rather file->f_op->get_unmapped_area, which currently is the generic
implementation of hugetlb_get_unmapped_area() that does not know about s390
dynamic pagetable upgrades, but with the new definition of TASK_SIZE, it
will now allow mappings above 4 TB.

Subsequent access to such a mapped address above 4 TB will result in a page
fault loop, because the CPU cannot translate such a large address with 3
pagetable levels. The fault handler will try to map in a hugepage at the
address, but due to the folded pagetable logic it will end up with creating
entries in the 3 level pagetable, possibly overwriting existing mappings,
and then it all repeats when the access is retried.

Apart from the page fault loop, this can have various nasty effects, e.g.
kernel panic from one of the BUG_ON() checks in memory management code,
or even data loss if an existing mapping gets overwritten.

Fix this by implementing HAVE_ARCH_HUGETLB_UNMAPPED_AREA support for s390,
providing an s390 version for hugetlb_get_unmapped_area() with pagetable
upgrade support similar to arch_get_unmapped_area(), which will then be
used instead of the generic version.

Instead, shrink the zones when offlining memory or when onlining failed.
Introduce and use remove_pfn_range_from_zone(() for that. We now
properly shrink the zones, even if we have DIMMs whereby

 - Some memory blocks fall into no zone (never onlined)

 - Some memory blocks fall into multiple zones (offlined+re-onlined)

 - Multiple memory blocks that fall into different zones

Drop the zone parameter (with a potential dubious value) from
__remove_pages() and __remove_section().

Merge tag 'arm64-upstream' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/arm64/linux

Pull arm64 updates from Catalin Marinas:
 "Apart from the arm64-specific bits (core arch and perf, new arm64
  selftests), it touches the generic cow_user_page() (reviewed by
  Kirill) together with a macro for x86 to preserve the existing
  behaviour on this architecture.

  Summary:

   - On ARMv8 CPUs without hardware updates of the access flag, avoid
     failing cow_user_page() on PFN mappings if the pte is old. The
     patches introduce an arch_faults_on_old_pte() macro, defined as
     false on x86. When true, cow_user_page() makes the pte young before
     attempting __copy_from_user_inatomic().

   - Covert the synchronous exception handling paths in
     arch/arm64/kernel/entry.S to C.

   - FTRACE_WITH_REGS support for arm64.

   - ZONE_DMA re-introduced on arm64 to support Raspberry Pi 4

   - Several kselftest cases specific to arm64, together with a
     MAINTAINERS update for these files (moved to the ARM64 PORT entry).

   - Workaround for a Neoverse-N1 erratum where the CPU may fetch stale
     instructions under certain conditions.

   - Workaround for Cortex-A57 and A72 errata where the CPU may
     speculatively execute an AT instruction and associate a VMID with
     the wrong guest page tables (corrupting the TLB).

   - Perf updates for arm64: additional PMU topologies on HiSilicon
     platforms, support for CCN-512 interconnect, AXI ID filtering in
     the IMX8 DDR PMU, support for the CCPI2 uncore PMU in ThunderX2.

   - GICv3 optimisation to avoid a heavy barrier when accessing the
     ICC_PMR_EL1 register.

   - ELF HWCAP documentation updates and clean-up.

   - SMC calling convention conduit code clean-up.

   - KASLR diagnostics printed during boot

   - NVIDIA Carmel CPU added to the KPTI whitelist

   - Some arm64 mm clean-ups: use generic free_initrd_mem(), remove
     stale macro, simplify calculation in __create_pgd_mapping(), typos.

   - Kconfig clean-ups: CMDLINE_FORCE to depend on CMDLINE, choice for
     endinanness to help with allmodconfig"

13f9bae579 s390/kasan: support memcpy_real with TRACE_IRQFLAGS
Currently if the kernel is built with CONFIG_TRACE_IRQFLAGS and KASAN
and used as crash kernel it crashes itself due to
trace_hardirqs_off/trace_hardirqs_on being called with DAT off. This
happens because trace_hardirqs_off/trace_hardirqs_on are instrumented and
kasan code tries to perform access to shadow memory to validate memory
accesses. Kasan shadow memory is populated with vmemmap, so all accesses
require DAT on.

memcpy_real could be called with DAT on or off (with kasan enabled DAT
is set even before early code is executed).

Make sure that trace_hardirqs_off/trace_hardirqs_on are called with DAT
on and only actual __memcpy_real is called with DAT off.

Also annotate __memcpy_real and _memcpy_real with __no_sanitize_address
to avoid further problems due to switching DAT off.

b8e51a6a9d s390/cmm: fix information leak in cmm_timeout_handler()
The problem is that we were putting the NUL terminator too far:

	buf[sizeof(buf) - 1] = '\0';

If the user input isn't NUL terminated and they haven't initialized the
whole buffer then it leads to an info leak. The NUL terminator should
be:

	buf[len - 1] = '\0';

b4ed71f557 mm: treewide: clarify pgtable_page_{ctor,dtor}() naming
The naming of pgtable_page_{ctor,dtor}() seems to have confused a few
people, and until recently arm64 used these erroneously/pointlessly for
other levels of page table.

To make it incredibly clear that these only apply to the PTE level, and to
align with the naming of pgtable_pmd_page_{ctor,dtor}(), let's rename them
to pgtable_pte_page_{ctor,dtor}().

These changes were generated with the following shell script:

----
git grep -lw 'pgtable_page_.tor' | while read FILE; do
    sed -i '{s/pgtable_page_ctor/pgtable_pte_page_ctor/}' $FILE;
    sed -i '{s/pgtable_page_dtor/pgtable_pte_page_dtor/}' $FILE;
done
----

... with the documentation re-flowed to remain under 80 columns, and
whitespace fixed up in macros to keep backslashes aligned.

There should be no functional change as a result of this patch.

This is more cleanup and consolidation of the hmm APIs and the very
 strongly related mmu_notifier interfaces. Many places across the tree
 using these interfaces are touched in the process. Beyond that a cleanup
 to the page walker API and a few memremap related changes round out the
 series:

 - General improvement of hmm_range_fault() and related APIs, more
   documentation, bug fixes from testing, API simplification &
   consolidation, and unused API removal

 - Simplify the hmm related kconfigs to HMM_MIRROR and DEVICE_PRIVATE, and
   make them internal kconfig selects

 - Hoist a lot of code related to mmu notifier attachment out of drivers by
   using a refcount get/put attachment idiom and remove the convoluted
   mmu_notifier_unregister_no_release() and related APIs.

 - General API improvement for the migrate_vma API and revision of its only
   user in nouveau

 - Annotate mmu_notifiers with lockdep and sleeping region debugging

 Two series unrelated to HMM or mmu_notifiers came along due to
 dependencies:

 - Allow pagemap's memremap_pages family of APIs to work without providing
   a struct device

 - Make walk_page_range() and related use a constant structure for function

042c1d29de s390/kasan: add kdump support
If kasan enabled kernel is used as crash kernel it crashes itself with
program check loop during kdump execution. The reason for that is that
kasan shadow memory backed by pages beyond OLDMEM_SIZE. Make kasan memory

5f0917a281 s390/cmma: reuse kstrtobool for option value parsing
"cmma" option setup already recognises some textual values. Yet kstrtobool
is a more common way to parse boolean values, reuse it to unify option
value parsing behavior and simplify code a bit.

While at it, __setup value parsing callbacks are expected to return
1 when an option is recognized, and returning any other value won't
trigger any error message currently, so simply return 1.

Since commit d1874a0c28 ("s390/mm: make the pxd_offset functions more

changed so that they cannot be used to iterate through top level page

in pgd_offset. To avoid dumping the very first region/segment top level
table entry 2048 times simply iterate entry pointer like it is already

b98cca444d mm, kprobes: generalize and rename notify_page_fault() as kprobe_page_fault()
Architectures which support kprobes have very similar boilerplate around
calling kprobe_fault_handler(). Use a helper function in kprobes.h to
unify them, based on the x86 code.

This changes the behaviour for other architectures when preemption is
enabled. Previously, they would have disabled preemption while calling
the kprobe handler. However, preemption would be disabled if this fault
was due to a kprobe, so we know the fault was not due to a kprobe
handler and can simply return failure.

This behaviour was introduced in commit a980c0ef9f ("x86/kprobes:
Refactor kprobes_fault() like kprobe_exceptions_notify()")

9087c37584 dma-direct: Force unencrypted DMA under SME for certain DMA masks
If a device doesn't support DMA to a physical address that includes the
encryption bit (currently bit 47, so 48-bit DMA), then the DMA must
occur to unencrypted memory. SWIOTLB is used to satisfy that requirement
if an IOMMU is not active (enabled or configured in passthrough mode).

However, commit fafadcd165 ("swiotlb: don't dip into swiotlb pool for
coherent allocations") modified the coherent allocation support in
SWIOTLB to use the DMA direct coherent allocation support. When an IOMMU
is not active, this resulted in dma_alloc_coherent() failing for devices
that didn't support DMA addresses that included the encryption bit.

Addressing this requires changes to the force_dma_unencrypted() function
in kernel/dma/direct.c. Since the function is now non-trivial and
SME/SEV specific, update the DMA direct support to add an arch override
for the force_dma_unencrypted() function. The arch override is selected
when CONFIG_AMD_MEM_ENCRYPT is set. The arch override function resides in
the arch/x86/mm/mem_encrypt.c file and forces unencrypted DMA when either
SEV is active or SME is active and the device does not support DMA to
physical addresses that include the encryption bit.

5ad18b2e60 Merge branch 'siginfo-linus' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/ebiederm/user-namespace
Pull force_sig() argument change from Eric Biederman:
 "A source of error over the years has been that force_sig has taken a
  task parameter when it is only safe to use force_sig with the current
  task.

  The force_sig function is built for delivering synchronous signals
  such as SIGSEGV where the userspace application caused a synchronous
  fault (such as a page fault) and the kernel responded with a signal.

  Because the name force_sig does not make this clear, and because the
  force_sig takes a task parameter the function force_sig has been
  abused for sending other kinds of signals over the years. Slowly those
  have been fixed when the oopses have been tracked down.

  This set of changes fixes the remaining abusers of force_sig and
  carefully rips out the task parameter from force_sig and friends
  making this kind of error almost impossible in the future"

1758feddb0 s390 updates for the 5.3 merge window
- Improve stop_machine wait logic: replace cpu_relax_yield call in generic
    stop_machine function with a weak stop_machine_yield function. This is
    overridden on s390, which yields the current cpu to the neighbouring cpu
    after a couple of retries, instead of blindly giving up the cpu to the
    hipervisor. This significantly improves stop_machine performance on s390 in
    overcommitted scenarios.
    This includes common code changes which have been Acked by Peter Zijlstra
    and Thomas Gleixner.

  - Improve jump label transformation speed: transform jump labels without
    using stop_machine.

  - Refactoring of the vfio-ccw cp handling, simplifying the code and
    avoiding unneeded allocating/copying.

  - Various vfio-ccw fixes (ccw translation, state machine).

  - Add support for vfio-ap queue interrupt control in the guest.
    This includes s390 kvm changes which have been Acked by Christian
    Borntraeger.

  - Add protected virtualization support for virtio-ccw.

  - Enforce both CONFIG_SMP and CONFIG_HOTPLUG_CPU, which allows to remove some
    code which most likely isn't working at all, besides that s390 didn't even
    compile for !CONFIG_SMP.

  - Support for special flagged EP11 CPRBs for zcrypt.

  - Handle PCI devices with no support for new MIO instructions.

  - Avoid KASAN false positives in reworked stack unwinder.

  - Couple of fixes for the QDIO layer.

  - Convert s390 specific documentation to ReST format.

  - Let s390 crypto modules return -ENODEV instead of -EOPNOTSUPP if hardware is
    missing. This way our modules behave like most other modules and which is
    also what systemd's systemd-modules-load.service expects.

  - Replace defconfig with performance_defconfig, so there is one config file
    less to maintain.

  - Remove the SCLP call home device driver, which was never useful.

  - Cleanups all over the place.

64e1f0c531 s390/mm: force swiotlb for protected virtualization
On s390, protected virtualization guests have to use bounced I/O
buffers.  That requires some plumbing.

Let us make sure, any device that uses DMA API with direct ops correctly
is spared from the problems, that a hypervisor attempting I/O to a
non-shared page would bring.

962f0af83c s390/mm: fix address space detection in exception handling
Commit 0aaba41b58 ("s390: remove all code using the access register
mode") removed access register mode from the kernel, and also from the
address space detection logic. However, user space could still switch
to access register mode (trans_exc_code == 1), and exceptions in that
mode would not be correctly assigned.

Fix this by adding a check for trans_exc_code == 1 to get_fault_type(),
and remove the wrong comment line before that function.

567b722347 s390/mm: mmap base does not depend on ADDR_NO_RANDOMIZE personality
randomize_stack_top() checks for current task flag PF_RANDOMIZE in order
to use stack randomization and PF_RANDOMIZE is set when
ADDR_NO_RANDOMIZE is unset, so no need to check for ADDR_NO_RANDOMIZE
in stack_maxrandom_size.
