791ed0bb55 drivers/clk: don't use module_init in clk-nomadik.c which is non-modular
The clk-nomadik.o is built for ARCH_NOMADIK -- which is bool, and
hence this code is either present or absent. It will never be
modular, so using module_init as an alias for __initcall can be
somewhat misleading.

Fix this up now, so that we can relocate module_init from
init.h into module.h in the future. If we don't do this, we'd
have to add module.h to obviously non-modular code, and that
would be a worse thing.

Note that direct use of __initcall is discouraged, vs. one
of the priority categorized subgroups. As __initcall gets
mapped onto device_initcall, our use of device_initcall
directly in this change means that the runtime impact is
zero -- it will remain at level 6 in initcall ordering.

a0c4dfeede drivers/clk: include <module.h> for clk-max77xxx modular code
These files are built off of the tristate COMMON_CLK_MAX77686 and
COMMON_CLK_MAX77802 respectively. They also contains modular function
calls so they should explicitly include module.h to avoid compile
breakage during header shuffles done in the future.

e0b7a79524 clk: pistachio: Lock the PLL when enabled upon rate change
Currently, when the rate is changed, the driver makes sure the
PLL is enabled before doing so. This is done because the PLL
cannot be locked while disabled. Once locked, the drivers
returns the PLL to its previous enable/disable state.

This is a bit cumbersome, and can be simplified.

This commit reworks the .set_rate() functions for the integer
and fractional PLLs. Upon rate change, the PLL is now locked
only if it's already enabled.

Also, the driver locks the PLL on .enable(). This makes sure
the PLL is locked when enabled, and not locked when disabled.

f892b20352 CLK: TI: always enable DESHDCP clock
DESHDCP clock is needed on DRA7 based SoCs to enable the DSS IP. That
clock is an odd one, as it is not supposed to be any kind of core clock
for DSS, and we don't even support HDCP, but the clock is still needed
even for the HWMOD framework to be able to reset the DSS IP.

As there's no support for multiple core clocks in the HWMOD framework,
we don't have any obvious place to enable this clock when DSS IP is
being enabled.

Furthermore, the HDMI on OMAP5 DSS is the same as on DRA7, and OMAP5
does not have any such clock configuration bit. This suggests that on
OMAP5 the DESHDCP clock is always enabled, and for DRA7 we have the
possibility to gate it.

So, as we don't have any clean way to enable and disable the clock
based on the need, this patch enables the clock at boot time, making it
work similarly to OMAP5.

de8e434d09 ARM: imx: drop epit timer initialization from imx35 clock driver
EPIT provides another timer implementation besides the default GPT
timer. The imx35 clock driver will use EPIT timer when option
CONFIG_MXC_USE_EPIT is enabled. However, initializing timers from
clock driver is a workaround solution and causes problem when we move
clock drivers into driver/clk.

Let's simply drop the EPIT initialization from there. If people really
want this EPIT option, EPIT timer driver needs to be reworked to do the
initialization in a standard way - use CLOCKSOURCE_OF_DECLARE() with
device tree support.

5e1d012851 ARM: pxa: change clocks init sequence
Since pxa clocks were ported to the clock framework, an ordering issue
appears between clocks and clocksource initialization. As a consequence,
the pxa timer clock cannot be acquired in pxa_timer, and is disabled by
clock framework because it is "unused".

The ordering issue is that in the kernel boot sequence :
  start_kernel()
    ...
    time_init()
      -> pxa_timer()
-> here the clocksource is initialized
    ...
    rest_init()
      kernel_init()
	initcalls
-> here the clocks are initialized

In the current sequence, the clocks are initialized way after pxa_timer,
which cannot acquire the OSTIMER0 clock.

To solve this issue, the clocks initialization is moved to pxa_timer(),
so that clocks are initialized before clocksource for non device-tree.
For device-tree, the standard arm time_init() will take care of the
ordering.

d5622a9c13 clkdev: use clk_hw internally
clk_add_alias() calls clk_get() followed by clk_put() but in between
those two calls it saves away the struct clk pointer to a clk_lookup
structure. This leaves the 'clk' member of the clk_lookup pointing at
freed memory on configurations where CONFIG_COMMON_CLK=y. This is a
problem because clk_get_sys() will eventually try to dereference the
freed pointer by calling __clk_get_hw() on it. Fix this by saving away
the struct clk_hw pointer instead of the struct clk pointer so that when
we try to create a per-user struct clk in clk_get_sys() we don't

97372e5a99 clk: exynos5420: Restore GATE_BUS_TOP on suspend
Commit ae43b32891 ("ARM: 8202/1: dmaengine: pl330: Add runtime Power
Management support v12") added pm support for the pl330 dma driver but
it makes the clock for the Exynos5420 MDMA0 DMA controller to be gated
during suspend and this in turn makes its parent clock aclk266_g2d to
be gated. But the clock needs to be ungated prior suspend to allow the
system to be suspend and resumed correctly.

Add GATE_BUS_TOP register to the list of registers to be restored when
the system enters into a suspend state so aclk266_g2d will be ungated.

Thanks to Abhilash Kesavan for figuring out that this was the issue.

While introducing struct clk_core we tried to minimize the diff
by changing the type of 'clk' variables from struct clk to struct

mixes variables called 'clk' and variables called 'core' that are
of the same type struct clk_core. Let's be consistent and use
'core' everywhere we have a struct clk_core pointer and 'clk'
when we have a struct clk pointer.

Fix this by returning NULL in case ->determine_rate() or ->round_rate()

Implement the determinate_rate method and propagate the change rate

The statement

63cc5a4da1 clk: tegra: Model oscillator as clock
Currently the Tegra clock driver simplifies the clock tree somewhat by
taking advantage of the fact that clk_m runs at the same frequency as
the oscillator. While that's true on all currently supported SoCs, it
does not apply to Tegra210 anymore. On Tegra210 clk_m is typically
divided down from the oscillator frequency. To support that setup, add
a separate clock for the oscillator that both clk_m and pll_ref derive
from.

Modify the tegra_osc_clk_init() function to take an additional divider
parameter for clk_m. Existing SoCs always pass in 1, whereas Tegra210
will read the divider from a register in the clock & reset controller.

The current sunxi clock driver has the base factor clock of divs clocks

This patch makes the divs clocks data structure specify which output is
the factor clock, and updates all current divs clocks accordingly.

We can then add new outputs after the factor clocks, at least not breaking
backward compatibility with regards to the devicetree bindings.

It seems the PLL divider needs to have also the multiplier set for the PLL

So let's just ignore the PLL divider for now as the synthesizer has both
integer and fractional dividers so we don't even need to use the PLL

293d2e97b3 clk: qcom: Introduce parent_map tables
In the current parent mapping code, we can get duplicate or inconsistent
indexes, which leads to discrepancy between the number of elements in the
array and the number of parents. Until now, this was solved with some
reordering but this is not always possible.

This patch introduces index tables that are used to define the relations
between the PLL source and the hardware mux configuration value.
To accomplish this, here we do the following:
 - Define a parent_map struct to map the relations between PLL source index
 and register configuration value.
 - Add a qcom_find_src_index() function for finding the index of a clock
 matching the specific PLL configuration.
 - Update the {set,get}_parent RCG functions use the newly introduced
 parent_map struct.

In the case where M and N are the same value, the M/N counter is
still enabled by code even though no division takes place.
Leaving the RCG in such a state can result in improper behavior.

3d3801effd clk: introduce clk_is_match
Some drivers compare struct clk pointers as a means of knowing
if the two pointers reference the same clock hardware. This behavior is
dubious (drivers must not dereference struct clk), but did not cause any
regressions until the per-user struct clk patch was merged. Now the test
for matching clk's will always fail with per-user struct clk's.

clk_is_match is introduced to fix the regression and prevent drivers
from comparing the pointers manually.

9315514252 clk: divider: fix calculation of initial best divider when rounding to closest
Similar to the reasoning for the previous commit

	DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST(parent_rate, rate)

might not be the best integer divisor to get a good approximation for
rate from parent_rate (given the metric for CLK_DIVIDER_ROUND_CLOSEST).

For example assume a parent rate of 1000 Hz and a target rate of 700.
Using DIV_ROUND_CLOSEST the suggested divisor gets calculated to 1
resulting in a target rate of 1000 with a delta of 300 to the desired
rate. With choosing 2 as divisor however the resulting rate is 500 which
is nearer to 700.

26bac95aa8 clk: divider: fix selection of divider when rounding to closest
It's an invalid approach to assume that among two divider values
the one nearer the exact divider is the better one.

Assume a parent rate of 1000 Hz, a divider with CLK_DIVIDER_POWER_OF_TWO
and a target rate of 89 Hz. The exact divider is ~ 11.236 so 8 and 16
are the candidates to choose from yielding rates 125 Hz and 62.5 Hz
respectivly. While 8 is nearer to 11.236 than 16 is, the latter is still
the better divider as 62.5 is nearer to 89 than 125 is.

da321133b5 clk: divider: fix calculation of maximal parent rate for a given divider
The rate provided at the output of a clk-divider is calculated as:

	DIV_ROUND_UP(parent_rate, div)

since commit b11d282dbe (clk: divider: fix rate calculation for
fractional rates). So to yield a rate not bigger than r parent_rate
must be <= r * div.

The effect of choosing a parent rate that is too big as was done before
this patch results in wrongly ruling out good dividers.

Note that this is not a complete fix as __clk_round_rate might return a
value >= its 2nd parameter. Also for dividers with
CLK_DIVIDER_ROUND_CLOSEST set the calculation is not accurate. But this
fixes the test case by Sascha Hauer that uses a chain of three dividers
under a fixed clock.

42b5f40610 clk: mvebu: extend common code to allow an optional refclk
The Armada 39x, contrary to its predecessor, has a configurable
reference clock frequency, of either 25 Mhz, or 40 Mhz. For the
previous SoCs, it was fixed to 25 Mhz and described directly as such
in the Device Tree.

For Armada 39x, we need to read certain registers to know whether the
frequency is 25 or 40 Mhz. Therefore, this commit extends the common
mvebu clock code to allow the SoC-specific code to say it wants to
register a reference clock, by giving a non-NULL ->get_refclk_freq()
function pointer in its coreclk_soc_desc structure.
