a05e4c0af4 ethernet: use eth_hw_addr_set() for dev->addr_len cases
Convert all Ethernet drivers from memcpy(... dev->addr_len)
to eth_hw_addr_set():

  @@
  expression dev, np;
  @@
  - memcpy(dev->dev_addr, np, dev->addr_len)
  + eth_hw_addr_set(dev, np)

In theory addr_len may not be ETH_ALEN, but we don't expect
non-Ethernet devices to live under this directory, and only
the following cases of setting addr_len exist:
 - cxgb4 for mgmt device,
and the drivers which set it to ETH_ALEN: s2io, mlx4, vxge.

a76053707d dev_ioctl: split out ndo_eth_ioctl
Most users of ndo_do_ioctl are ethernet drivers that implement
the MII commands SIOCGMIIPHY/SIOCGMIIREG/SIOCSMIIREG, or hardware
timestamping with SIOCSHWTSTAMP/SIOCGHWTSTAMP.

Separate these from the few drivers that use ndo_do_ioctl to
implement SIOCBOND, SIOCBR and SIOCWANDEV commands.

This is a purely cosmetic change intended to help readers find
their way through the implementation.

adc2e56ebe Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net
Trivial conflicts in net/can/isotp.c and
tools/testing/selftests/net/mptcp/mptcp_connect.sh

scaled_ppm_to_ppb() was moved from drivers/ptp/ptp_clock.c
to include/linux/ptp_clock_kernel.h in -next so re-apply
the fix there.

33e381448c alx: Fix an error handling path in 'alx_probe()'
If an error occurs after a 'pci_enable_pcie_error_reporting()' call, it
must be undone by a corresponding 'pci_disable_pcie_error_reporting()'

4a5fe57e77 alx: use fine-grained locking instead of RTNL
In the alx driver, all locking depended on the RTNL, but
that causes issues with ipconfig ("ip=..." command line)
because that waits for the netdev to have a carrier while
holding the RTNL, but the alx workers etc. require RTNL,
so the carrier won't be set until the RTNL is dropped and
can be acquired by alx workers. This causes long delays
at boot, as reported by Nikolai Zhubr.

Really the only sensible thing to do here is to not use
the RTNL for everything, but instead have fine-grained
locking for just the driver. Do that, it's not that hard.

a4dcfbc4ee ethernet: alx: fix order of calls on resume
netif_device_attach() will unpause the queues so we can't call
it before __alx_open(). This went undetected until
commit b0999223f2 ("alx: add ability to allocate and free
alx_napi structures") but now if stack tries to xmit immediately
on resume before __alx_open() we'll crash on the NAPI being null:

e89df5c432 net: alx: fix race condition in alx_remove
There is a race condition exist during termination. The path is
alx_stop and then alx_remove. An alx_schedule_link_check could be called
before alx_stop by interrupt handler and invoke alx_link_check later.
Alx_stop frees the napis, and alx_remove cancels any pending works.
If any of the work is scheduled before termination and invoked before
alx_remove, a null-ptr-deref occurs because both expect alx->napis[i].

This patch fix the race condition by moving cancel_work_sync functions
before alx_free_napis inside alx_stop. Because interrupt handler can call
alx_schedule_link_check again, alx_free_irq is moved before
cancel_work_sync calls too.

After bfcb79fca1 ("PCI/ERR: Run error recovery callbacks for all affected

need to do it themselves.

Remove calls to pci_cleanup_aer_uncorrect_error_status() from device

bc800e8b39 alx: take rtnl before calling __alx_open from resume
The __alx_open function can be called from ndo_open, which is called
under RTNL, or from alx_resume, which isn't. Since commit d768319cd4,
we're calling the netif_set_real_num_{tx,rx}_queues functions, which
need to be called under RTNL.

This is similar to commit 0c2cc02e57 ("igb: Move the calls to set the
Tx and Rx queues into igb_open").

185aceefd8 alx: work around hardware bug in interrupt fallback path
If requesting msi-x interrupts fails in alx_request_irq we fall back to
a single tx queue and msi or legacy interrupts.

Currently the adapter stops working in this case and we get tx watchdog
timeouts. For reasons unknown the adapter gets confused when we load the
dma adresses to the chip in alx_init_ring_ptrs twice: the first time with
multiple queues and the second time in the fallback case with a single
queue.

To fix this move the the call to alx_reinit_rings (which calls
alx_init_ring_ptrs) after alx_request_irq. At this time it is clear how
much tx queues we have and which dma addresses we use.

If requesting msi-x interrupts fails we should fall back to msi or
