This patch adds test coverage for listening sockets created by userspace
processes.
It adds a new test named test_listener() and a new verifying helper
verify_listener_events(). The new output looks like this:
CREATE_SUBFLOW 10.0.2.2 (ns2) => 10.0.2.1 (ns1) [OK]
DESTROY_SUBFLOW 10.0.2.2 (ns2) => 10.0.2.1 (ns1) [OK]
MP_PRIO TX [OK]
MP_PRIO RX [OK]
CREATE_LISTENER 10.0.2.2:37106 [OK]
CLOSE_LISTENER 10.0.2.2:37106 [OK]

This patch makes server_evts and client_evts global in userspace_pm.sh,
then these two variables could be used in test_announce(), test_remove()
and test_subflows(). The local variable 'evts' in these three functions
then could be dropped.
Also move local variable 'file' as a global one.

Some userspace pm tests failed since pm listener events have been added.
Now MPTCP_EVENT_LISTENER_CREATED event becomes the first item in the
events list like this:
type:15,family:2,sport:10006,saddr4:0.0.0.0
type:1,token:3701282876,server_side:1,family:2,saddr4:10.0.1.1,...
And no token value in this MPTCP_EVENT_LISTENER_CREATED event.
This patch fixes this by specifying the type 1 item to search for token
values.

This patch first adds TFO support in mptcp_connect.c.
This can be enabled via a new option: -o MPTFO.
Once enabled, the TCP_FASTOPEN socket option is enabled for the server
side and a sendto() with MSG_FASTOPEN is used instead of a connect() for
the client side.
Note that the first SYN has a limit of bytes it can carry. In other
words, it is allowed to send less data than the provided one. We then
need to track more status info to properly allow the next sendmsg()
starting from the next part of the data to send the rest.
Also in TFO scenarios, we need to completely spool the partially xmitted
buffer -- and account for that -- before starting sendfile/mmap xmit,
otherwise the relevant tests will fail.

When the kernel receives a route deletion request from user space it
tries to delete a route that matches the route attributes specified in
the request.
If only prefix information is specified in the request, the kernel
should delete the first matching FIB alias regardless of its associated
FIB info. However, an error is currently returned when the FIB info is
backed by a nexthop object:
# ip nexthop add id 1 via 192.0.2.2 dev dummy10
# ip route add 198.51.100.0/24 nhid 1
# ip route del 198.51.100.0/24
RTNETLINK answers: No such process
Fix by matching on such a FIB info when legacy nexthop attributes are
not specified in the request. An earlier check already covers the case
where a nexthop ID is specified in the request.
Add tests that cover these flows. Before the fix:
# ./fib_nexthops.sh -t ipv4_fcnal
...

The `nettest` binary, built from `selftests/net/nettest.c`,
was expected to be found in the path during test execution of
`fcnal-test.sh` and `pmtu.sh`, leading to tests getting
skipped when the binary is not installed in the system, as can
be seen in these logs found in the wild [1]:
# TEST: vti4: PMTU exceptions [SKIP]

# 'nettest' command not found; skipping tests
# xfrm4udp not supported
The `unicast_extensions.sh` tests also rely on `nettest`, but
it runs fine there because it looks for the binary in the
current working directory [2]:
The same mechanism that works for the Unicast extensions tests
is here copied over to the PMTU and functional tests.

Some highly optimised applications use SO_INCOMING_CPU to make them
efficient, but they didn't test if it's working correctly by getsockopt()
to avoid slowing down. As a result, no one noticed it had been broken
for years, so it's a good time to add a test to catch future regression.
The test does
1) Create $(nproc) TCP listeners associated with each CPU.
2) Create 32 child sockets for each listener by calling
sched_setaffinity() for each CPU.
3) Check if accept()ed sockets' sk_incoming_cpu matches
listener's one.
If we see -EAGAIN, SO_INCOMING_CPU is broken. However, we might not see
any error even if broken; the kernel could miraculously distribute all SYN
to correct listeners. Not to let that happen, we must increase the number
of clients and CPUs to some extent, so the test requires $(nproc) >= 2 and
creates 64 sockets at least.
Test:
$ nproc

- Add supported for more directly managed task_work running.
This is beneficial for real world applications that end up issuing
lots of system calls as part of handling work. Normal task_work will
always execute as we transition in and out of the kernel, even for

We can make the phc2sys helper not only synchronize a PHC to
CLOCK_REALTIME, which is what it currently does, but also CLOCK_REALTIME
to a PHC, which is going to be needed in distributed TSN tests.
Instead of making the complexity of the arguments passed to
phc2sys_start() explode, we can let it figure out the sync direction
automatically, based on ptp4l's port states.
Towards that goal, pass just the path to the desired ptp4l instance's
UNIX domain socket, and remove the $if_name argument (from which it
derives the PHC). Also adapt the one caller from the ocelot psfp.sh
test. In the case of psfp.sh, phc2sys_start is able to properly figure
out that CLOCK_REALTIME is the source clock and swp1's PHC is the
destination, because of the way in which ptp4l_start for the
UDS_ADDRESS_SWP1 was called: with slave_only=false, so it will always
win the BMCA and always become the sync master between itself and $h1.

This selftest is designed for testing the support of NEXT-C-SID flavor
for SRv6 End behavior. It instantiates a virtual network composed of
several nodes: hosts and SRv6 routers. Each node is realized using a
network namespace that is properly interconnected to others through veth
pairs.
The test considers SRv6 routers implementing IPv4/IPv6 L3 VPNs leveraged
by hosts for communicating with each other. Such routers i) apply
different SRv6 Policies to the traffic received from connected hosts,
considering the IPv4 or IPv6 protocols; ii) use the NEXT-C-SID
compression mechanism for encoding several SRv6 segments within a single
128-bit SID address, referred to as a Compressed SID (C-SID) container.
The NEXT-C-SID is provided as a "flavor" of the SRv6 End behavior,
enabling it to properly process the C-SID containers. The correct
execution of the enabled NEXT-C-SID SRv6 End behavior is verified
through reachability tests carried out between hosts belonging to the
same VPN.

Pull io_uring fixes from Jens Axboe:
- A single fix for over-eager retries for networking (Pavel)
- Revert the notification slot support for zerocopy sends.
It turns out that even after more than a year or development and
testing, there's not full agreement on whether just using plain
ordered notifications is Good Enough to avoid the complexity of using
the notifications slots. Because of that, we decided that it's best
left to a future final decision.
We can always bring back this feature, but we can't really change it
or remove it once we've released 6.0 with it enabled. The reverts
leave the usual CQE notifications as the primary interface for
knowing when data was sent, and when it was acked. (Pavel)

The IP_UNICAST_IF socket option is used to set the outgoing interface
for outbound packets.
The IP_UNICAST_IF socket option was added as it was needed by the
Wine project, since no other existing option (SO_BINDTODEVICE socket
option, IP_PKTINFO socket option or the bind function) provided the
needed characteristics needed by the IP_UNICAST_IF socket option. [1]
The IP_UNICAST_IF socket option works well for unconnected sockets,
that is, the interface specified by the IP_UNICAST_IF socket option
is taken into consideration in the route lookup process when a packet
is being sent. However, for connected sockets, the outbound interface
is chosen when connecting the socket, and in the route lookup process
which is done when a packet is being sent, the interface specified by
the IP_UNICAST_IF socket option is being ignored.
This inconsistent behavior was reported and discussed in an issue
opened on systemd's GitHub project [2]. Also, a bug report was
submitted in the kernel's bugzilla [3].
To understand the problem in more detail, we can look at what happens
for UDP packets over IPv4 (The same analysis was done separately in
the referenced systemd issue).
When a UDP packet is sent the udp_sendmsg function gets called and
the following happens:
1. The oif member of the struct ipcm_cookie ipc (which stores the
output interface of the packet) is initialized by the ipcm_init_sk
function to inet->sk.sk_bound_dev_if (the device set by the
SO_BINDTODEVICE socket option).
2. If the IP_PKTINFO socket option was set, the oif member gets
overridden by the call to the ip_cmsg_send function.
3. If no output interface was selected yet, the interface specified
by the IP_UNICAST_IF socket option is used.
4. If the socket is connected and no destination address is
specified in the send function, the struct ipcm_cookie ipc is not
taken into consideration and the cached route, that was calculated in
the connect function is being used.
Thus, for a connected socket, the IP_UNICAST_IF sockopt isn't taken
into consideration.
This patch corrects the behavior of the IP_UNICAST_IF socket option
for connect()ed sockets by taking into consideration the
IP_UNICAST_IF sockopt when connecting the socket.
In order to avoid reconnecting the socket, this option is still
ignored when applied on an already connected socket until connect()
is called again by the Richard Gobert.
Change the __ip4_datagram_connect function, which is called during
socket connection, to take into consideration the interface set by
the IP_UNICAST_IF socket option, in a similar way to what is done in
the udp_sendmsg function.

This patch adds 2 new tests: sk_bind_sendto_listen and
sk_connect_zero_addr.
The sk_bind_sendto_listen test exercises the path where a socket's
rcv saddr changes after it has been added to the binding tables,
and then a listen() on the socket is invoked. The listen() should
succeed.
The sk_bind_sendto_listen test is copied over from one of syzbot's
tests: https://syzkaller.appspot.com/x/repro.c?x=1673a38df00000
The sk_connect_zero_addr test exercises the path where the socket was
never previously added to the binding tables and it gets assigned a
saddr upon a connect() to address 0.

This test populates the bhash table for a given port with
MAX_THREADS * MAX_CONNECTIONS sockets, and then times how long
a bind request on the port takes.
When populating the bhash table, we create the sockets and then bind
the sockets to the same address and port (SO_REUSEADDR and SO_REUSEPORT
are set). When timing how long a bind on the port takes, we bind on a
different address without SO_REUSEPORT set. We do not set SO_REUSEPORT
because we are interested in the case where the bind request does not
go through the tb->fastreuseport path, which is fragile (eg
tb->fastreuseport path does not work if binding with a different uid).
To run the script:
Usage: ./bind_bhash.sh [-6 | -4] [-p port] [-a address]
6: use ipv6
4: use ipv4
port: Port number
address: ip address

There are currently 3 ip tunnels that are capable of carrying
L2 traffic: gretap, vxlan and geneve.
They all are capable to inherit the TOS/TTL for the outer
IP-header from the inner frame.
Add a test that verifies that these fields are correctly inherited.
These tests failed before the following commits:
b09ab9c92e ("ip6_tunnel: allow to inherit from VLAN encapsulated IP")
3f8a8447fd ("ip6_gre: use actual protocol to select xmit")
41337f52b9 ("ip6_gre: set DSCP for non-IP")

A TODO in net/ipsec.c asks to refactor the code in xfrm_fill_key() to
use set/map to avoid manually comparing each algorithm with the "name"
parameter passed to the function as an argument. This patch refactors
the code to create an array of structs where each struct contains the
algorithm name and its corresponding key length.

The custom multipath hash tests use mausezahn in order to test how
changes in various packet fields affect the packet distribution across
the available nexthops.
The tool uses the libnet library for various low-level packet
construction and injection. The library started using the
"SO_BINDTODEVICE" socket option for IPv6 sockets in version 1.1.6 and
for IPv4 sockets in version 1.2.
When the option is not set, packets are not routed according to the
table associated with the VRF master device and tests fail.
Fix this by prefixing the command with "ip vrf exec", which will cause
the route lookup to occur in the VRF routing table. This makes the tests
pass regardless of the libnet library version.

When the selftest got added, sendfile() on mptcp sockets returned
-EOPNOTSUPP, so running 'mptcp_connect.sh -m sendfile' failed
immediately.
This is no longer the case, but the script fails anyway due to timeout.
Let the receiver know once the sender has sent all data, just like
with '-m mmap' mode.
v2: need to respect cfg_wait too, as pm_userspace.sh relied
on -m sendfile to keep the connection open (Mat Martineau)

instantiates a virtual network composed of several nodes: hosts and SRv6

The test considers SRv6 routers implementing a L2 VPN leveraged by hosts
for communicating with each other. Such routers make use of the SRv6

Add a handful of memory randomizations and precise length checks.
Nothing is really broken here, I did this to increase confidence
when debugging. It does fix a GCC warning, tho. Apparently GCC
recognizes that memory needs to be initialized for send() but
does not recognize that for write().

Ping sockets don't appear to make any attempt to preserve flow labels
created and set by userspace using IPV6_FLOWINFO_SEND. Instead they are
clobbered by autolabels (if enabled) or zero.
Grab the flowlabel out of the msghdr similar to how rawv6_sendmsg does
it and move the memset up so it doesn't get zeroed after.

ipv4 arp_accept has a new option '2' to create new neighbor entries
only if the src ip is in the same subnet as an address configured on
the interface that received the garp message. This selftest tests all
options in arp_accept.
ipv6 has a sysctl endpoint, accept_untracked_na, that defines the
behavior for accepting untracked neighbor advertisements. A new option
similar to that of arp_accept for learning only from the same subnet is
added to accept_untracked_na. This selftest tests this new feature.

The mentioned test measures the transfer run-time to verify
that the user-space program is able to use the full aggregate B/W.
Even on (virtual) link-speed-bound tests, debug kernel can slow
down the transfer enough to cause sporadic test failures.
Instead of unconditionally raising the maximum allowed run-time,
tweak when the running kernel is a debug one, and use some simple/
rough heuristic to guess such scenarios.
Note: this intentionally avoids looking for /boot/config-<version> as

As mentioned in the blamed commit, flood_unicast_test() works by
checking the match count on a tc filter placed on the receiving
interface.
But the second host interface (host2_if) has no interest in receiving a
packet with MAC DA de:ad:be:ef:13:37, so its RX filter drops it even
before the ingress tc filter gets to be executed. So we will incorrectly
get the message "Packet was not flooded when should", when in fact, the
packet was flooded as expected but dropped due to an unrelated reason,
at some other layer on the receiving side.
Force h2 to accept this packet by temporarily placing it in promiscuous
mode. Alternatively we could either deliver to its MAC address or use
tcpdump_start, but this has the fewest complications.
This fixes the "flooding" test from bridge_vlan_aware.sh and

Currently, this script sets up the test scenario, which is supposed to end
in an inability of the system to negotiate a link. It then waits for a bit,
and verifies that the system can diagnose why the link was not established.
The wait time for the scenario where different link speeds are forced on
the two ends of a loopback cable, was set to 4 seconds, which exactly
covered it. As of a recent mlxsw firmware update, this time gets longer,
and this test starts failing.
The time that selftests currently wait for links to be established is
currently $WAIT_TIMEOUT, or 20 seconds. It seems reasonable that if this is
the time necessary to establish and bring up a link, it should also be
enough to determine that a link cannot be established and why.
Therefore in this patch, convert the sleeps to busywaits, so that if a
failure is established sooner (as is expected), the test runs quicker. And
use $WAIT_TIMEOUT as the time to wait.

Commit 8ff978b8b2 ("ipv4/raw: support binding to nonlocal addresses")
introduces support for binding to nonlocal addresses, as well as some
basic test coverage for some of the related cases.
Commit b4a028c4d0 ("ipv4: ping: fix bind address validity check")
fixes a regression which incorrectly removed some checks for bind
address validation. In addition, it introduces regression tests for
those specific checks. However, those regression tests are defective, in
that they perform the tests using an incorrect combination of bind
flags. As a result, those tests fail when they should succeed.
This commit introduces additional regression tests for nonlocal binding
and fixes the defective regression tests. It also introduces new
set_sysctl calls for the ipv4_bind test group, as to perform the ICMP
binding tests it is necessary to allow ICMP socket creation by setting
the net.ipv4.ping_group_range knob.

Commit 8ff978b8b2 ("ipv4/raw: support binding to nonlocal addresses")
introduced a helper function to fold duplicated validity checks of bind
addresses into inet_addr_valid_or_nonlocal(). However, this caused an
unintended regression in ping_check_bind_addr(), which previously would
reject binding to multicast and broadcast addresses, but now these are
both incorrectly allowed as reported in [1].
This patch restores the original check. A simple reordering is done to
improve readability and make it evident that multicast and broadcast
addresses should not be allowed. Also, add an early exit for INADDR_ANY
which replaces lost behavior added by commit 0ce779a9f5 ("net: Avoid
unnecessary inet_addr_type() call when addr is INADDR_ANY").
Furthermore, this patch introduces regression selftests to catch these
specific cases.

Using mlxsw driver, the configurations are offloaded just in case that
there is a physical port which is enslaved to the virtual device
(e.g., to a bridge). In 'mirror_gre_bridge_1q_lag' test, the bridge gets an
address and route before there are ports in the bridge. It means that these
configurations are not offloaded.
Till now the test passes with mlxsw driver even that the RIF of the
bridge is not in the hardware, because the ARP packets are trapped in
layer 2 and also mirrored, so there is no real need of the RIF in hardware.
The previous patch changed the traps 'ARP_REQUEST' and 'ARP_RESPONSE' to
be done at layer 3 instead of layer 2. With this change the ARP packets are
not trapped during the test, as the RIF is not in the hardware because of
the order of configurations.
Reorder the configurations to make them to be offloaded, then the test will
pass with the change of the traps.

When populating the bhash table, we create the sockets and then bind
the sockets to the same address and port (SO_REUSEADDR and SO_REUSEPORT

The function get_l3_stats() from the test hw_stats_l3.sh will be useful for
any test that wishes to work with L3 stats. Furthermore, it is easy to
generalize to other HW stats suites (for when such are added). Therefore,
move the code to lib.sh, rewrite it to have the same interface as the other
stats-collecting functions, and generalize to take the name of the HW stats
suite to collect as an argument.

depending on the sysctl ping_group_range. By default, ping_group_range is

Let's replay the ping tests by allowing 'ping' to use the ip icmp socket.

In emulated environments, the bridge ports enslaved to br1 get a carrier
before changing br1's PVID. This means that by the time the PVID is
changed, br1 is already operational and configured with an IPv6
link-local address.
When the test is run with netdevs registered by mlxsw, changing the PVID
is vetoed, as changing the VID associated with an existing L3 interface
is forbidden. This restriction is similar to the 8021q driver's
restriction of changing the VID of an existing interface.
Fix this by taking br1 down and bringing it back up when it is fully
configured.
With this fix, the test reliably passes on top of both the SW and HW
data paths (emulated or not).

The Felix VSC9959 switch in NXP LS1028A supports the tc-gate action
which enforced time-based access control per stream. A stream as seen by
this switch is identified by {MAC DA, VID}.
We use the standard forwarding selftest topology with 2 host interfaces
and 2 switch interfaces. The host ports must require timestamping non-IP
packets and supporting tc-etf offload, for isochron to work. The
isochron program monitors network sync status (ptp4l, phc2sys) and
deterministically transmits packets to the switch such that the tc-gate
action either (a) always accepts them based on its schedule, or
(b) always drops them.
I tried to keep as much of the logic that isn't specific to the NXP
LS1028A in a new tsn_lib.sh, for future reuse. This covers
synchronization using ptp4l and phc2sys, and isochron.
The cycle-time chosen for this selftest isn't particularly impressive
(and the focus is the functionality of the switch), but I didn't really
know what to do better, considering that it will mostly be run during
debugging sessions, various kernel bloatware would be enabled, like
lockdep, KASAN, etc, and we certainly can't run any races with those on.
I tried to look through the kselftest framework for other real time
applications and didn't really find any, so I'm not sure how better to
prepare the environment in case we want to go for a lower cycle time.
At the moment, the only thing the selftest is ensuring is that dynamic
frequency scaling is disabled on the CPU that isochron runs on. It would
probably be useful to have a blacklist of kernel config options (checked
through zcat /proc/config.gz) and some cyclictest scripts to run
beforehand, but I saw none of those.

This tests the capability of switch ports to filter out undesired
traffic. Different drivers are expected to have different capabilities
here (so some may fail and some may pass), yet the test still has some
value, for example to check for regressions.
There are 2 kinds of failures, one is when a packet which should have
been accepted isn't (and that should be fixed), and the other "failure"
(as reported by the test) is when a packet could have been filtered out
(for being unnecessary) yet it was received.
The bridge driver fares particularly badly at this test:
TEST: br0: Unicast IPv4 to primary MAC address [ OK ]
TEST: br0: Unicast IPv4 to macvlan MAC address [ OK ]
TEST: br0: Unicast IPv4 to unknown MAC address [FAIL]
reception succeeded, but should have failed

reception succeeded, but should have failed

mainly because it does not implement IFF_UNICAST_FLT. Yet I still think
having the test (with the failures) is useful in case somebody wants to
tackle that problem in the future, to make an easy before-and-after

By default, DSA switch ports inherit their MAC address from the DSA
master.
This works well for practical situations, but some selftests like
bridge_vlan_unaware.sh loop back 2 standalone DSA ports with 2 bridged
DSA ports, and require the bridge to forward packets between the
standalone ports.
Due to the bridge seeing that the MAC DA it needs to forward is present
as a local FDB entry (it coincides with the MAC address of the bridge
ports), the test packets are not forwarded, but terminated locally on
br0. In turn, this makes the ping and ping6 tests fail.
Address this by introducing an option to have stable MAC addresses.
When mac_addr_prepare is called, the current addresses of the netifs are
saved and replaced with 00:01:02:03:04:${netif number}. Then when
mac_addr_restore is called at the end of the test, the original MAC
addresses are restored. This ensures that the MAC addresses are unique,
which makes the test pass even for DSA ports.
The usage model is for the behavior to be opt-in via STABLE_MAC_ADDRS,
which DSA should set to true, all others behave as before. By hooking
the calls to mac_addr_prepare and mac_addr_restore within the forwarding
lib itself, we do not need to patch each individual selftest, the only
requirement is that pre_cleanup is called.

sections problematic on PREEMPT_RT.
- Extend the ref_tracker to allow catching use-after-free bugs.
BPF
---
- Introduce "packing allocator" for BPF JIT images. JITed code is
marked read only, and used to be allocated at page granularity.
Custom allocator allows for more efficient memory use, lower
iTLB pressure and prevents identity mapping huge pages from
getting split.
- Make use of BTF type annotations (e.g. __user, __percpu) to enforce
the correct probe read access method, add appropriate helpers.
- Convert the BPF preload to use light skeleton and drop
the user-mode-driver dependency.
- Allow XDP BPF_PROG_RUN test infra to send real packets, enabling
its use as a packet generator.
- Allow local storage memory to be allocated with GFP_KERNEL if called
from a hook allowed to sleep.
- Introduce fprobe (multi kprobe) to speed up mass attachment (arch
bits to come later).
- Add unstable conntrack lookup helpers for BPF by using the BPF
kfunc infra.
- Allow cgroup BPF progs to return custom errors to user space.
- Add support for AF_UNIX iterator batching.
- Allow iterator programs to use sleepable helpers.
- Support JIT of add, and, or, xor and xchg atomic ops on arm64.
- Add BTFGen support to bpftool which allows to use CO-RE in kernels
without BTF info.
- Large number of libbpf API improvements, cleanups and deprecations.
Protocols
---------
- Micro-optimize UDPv6 Tx, gaining up to 5% in test on dummy netdev.
- Adjust TSO packet sizes based on min_rtt, allowing very low latency
links (data centers) to always send full-sized TSO super-frames.
- Make IPv6 flow label changes (AKA hash rethink) more configurable,
via sysctl and setsockopt. Distinguish between server and client
behavior.
- VxLAN support to "collect metadata" devices to terminate only
configured VNIs. This is similar to VLAN filtering in the bridge.
- Support inserting IPv6 IOAM information to a fraction of frames.
- Add protocol attribute to IP addresses to allow identifying where
given address comes from (kernel-generated, DHCP etc.)
- Support setting socket and IPv6 options via cmsg on ping6 sockets.
- Reject mis-use of ECN bits in IP headers as part of DSCP/TOS.
Define dscp_t and stop taking ECN bits into account in fib-rules.
- Add support for locked bridge ports (for 802.1X).
- tun: support NAPI for packets received from batched XDP buffs,
doubling the performance in some scenarios.
- IPv6 extension header handling in Open vSwitch.
- Support IPv6 control message load balancing in bonding, prevent
neighbor solicitation and advertisement from using the wrong port.
Support NS/NA monitor selection similar to existing ARP monitor.
- SMC
- improve performance with TCP_CORK and sendfile()
- support auto-corking
- support TCP_NODELAY
- MCTP (Management Component Transport Protocol)
- add user space tag control interface
- I2C binding driver (as specified by DMTF DSP0237)
- Multi-BSSID beacon handling in AP mode for WiFi.
- Bluetooth:
- handle MSFT Monitor Device Event
- add MGMT Adv Monitor Device Found/Lost events
- Multi-Path TCP:
- add support for the SO_SNDTIMEO socket option
- lots of selftest cleanups and improvements
- Increase the max PDU size in CAN ISOTP to 64 kB.
Driver API
----------
- Add HW counters for SW netdevs, a mechanism for devices which
offload packet forwarding to report packet statistics back to
software interfaces such as tunnels.
- Select the default NIC queue count as a fraction of number of
physical CPU cores, instead of hard-coding to 8.
- Expose devlink instance locks to drivers. Allow device layer of
drivers to use that lock directly instead of creating their own
which always runs into ordering issues in devlink callbacks.
- Add header/data split indication to guide user space enabling
of TCP zero-copy Rx.
- Allow configuring completion queue event size.
- Refactor page_pool to enable fragmenting after allocation.
- Add allocation and page reuse statistics to page_pool.
- Improve Multiple Spanning Trees support in the bridge to allow
reuse of topologies across VLANs, saving HW resources in switches.
- DSA (Distributed Switch Architecture):
- replay and offload of host VLAN entries
- offload of static and local FDB entries on LAG interfaces
- FDB isolation and unicast filtering

Add two tests to pmtu.sh, for verifying that PMTU exceptions get
properly created for routes that don't belong to the main table.
A fib-rule based on the packet's DSCP field is used to jump to the
correct table. ECN shouldn't interfere with this process, so each test
has two components: one that only sets DSCP and one that sets both DSCP
and ECN.
One of the test triggers PMTU exceptions using ICMP Echo Requests, the
other using UDP packets (to test different handlers in the kernel).
A few adjustments are necessary in the rest of the script to allow
policy routing scenarios:
* Add global variable rt_table that allows setup_routing_*() to
add routes to a specific routing table. By default rt_table is set
to "main", so existing tests don't need to be modified.
* Another global variable, policy_mark, is used to define which
dsfield value is used for policy routing. This variable has no
effect on tests that don't use policy routing.
* The UDP version of the test uses socat. So cleanup() now also need
to kill socat PIDs.
* route_get_dst_pmtu_from_exception() and route_get_dst_exception()
now take an optional third argument specifying the dsfield. If
not specified, 0 is used, so existing users don't need to be
modified.

The commit 314001f0bf ("af_unix: Add OOB support") introduced OOB for
AF_UNIX, but it lacks some changes for POLLPRI. Let's add the missing
piece.
In the selftest, normal datagrams are sent followed by OOB data, so this
commit replaces `POLLIN | POLLPRI` with just `POLLPRI` in the first test
case.

The fundamental premise of VRF and l3mdev core code is binding a socket
to a device (l3mdev or netdev with an L3 domain) to indicate L3 scope.
Legacy code resets flowi_oif to the l3mdev losing any original port
device binding. Ben (among others) has demonstrated use cases where the
original port device binding is important and needs to be retained.
This patch handles that by adding a new entry to the common flow struct
that can indicate the l3mdev index for later rule and table matching
avoiding the need to reset flowi_oif.
In addition to allowing more use cases that require port device binds,
this patch brings a few datapath simplications:
1. l3mdev_fib_rule_match is only called when walking fib rules and
always after l3mdev_update_flow. That allows an optimization to bail
early for non-VRF type uses cases when flowi_l3mdev is not set. Also,
only that index needs to be checked for the FIB table id.
2. l3mdev_update_flow can be called with flowi_oif set to a l3mdev
(e.g., VRF) device. By resetting flowi_oif only for this case the
FLOWI_FLAG_SKIP_NH_OIF flag is not longer needed and can be removed,
removing several checks in the datapath. The flowi_iif path can be
simplified to only be called if the it is not loopback (loopback can
not be assigned to an L3 domain) and the l3mdev index is not already
set.
3. Avoid another device lookup in the output path when the fib lookup
returns a reject failure.
Note: 2 functional tests for local traffic with reject fib rules are
updated to reflect the new direct failure at FIB lookup time for ping
rather than the failure on packet path. The current code fails like this:
HINT: Fails since address on vrf device is out of device scope
COMMAND: ip netns exec ns-A ping -c1 -w1 -I eth1 172.16.3.1
ping: Warning: source address might be selected on device other than: eth1

1 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 0ms

Some vars are redefined in different places. Best to avoid this
classical Bash pitfall where variables are accidentally overridden by
other functions because the proper scope has not been defined.
Most issues are with loops: typically 'i' is used in for-loops but if it
is not global, calling a function from a for-loop also doing a for-loop
with the same non local 'i' variable causes troubles because the first
'i' will be assigned to another value. To prevent such issues, the
iterator variable is now declared as local just before the loop. If it
is always done like this, issues are avoided.
To distinct between local and non local variables, all non local ones
are defined at the beginning of the script. The others are now defined
with the "local" keyword.

Running a specific test by giving the ID is often what we want: the CI
reports an issue with the Nth test, it is reproducible with:
./mptcp_join.sh N
But this might not work when there is a need to find which commit has
introduced a regression making a test unstable: failing from time to
time. Indeed, a specific test is not attached to one ID: the ID is in
fact a counter. It means the same test can have a different ID if other
tests have been added/removed before this unstable one.
Remembering the current test can also help listing failed tests at the
end.

Often, it is needed to run one specific test.
There are options to run subgroups of tests but when only one fails, no
need to run all the subgroup. So far, the solution was to edit the
script to comment the tests that are not needed but that's not ideal.
Now, it is possible to run one specific test by giving the ID of the
tests that are going to be validated, e.g.
./mptcp_join.sh 36 37
This is cleaner and saves time.
Technically, the reset* functions now return 0 if the test can be
executed. This naturally creates sections per test in the code which is
also helpful to understand what a test is exactly doing.

When adding a new tests group, it has to be defined in multiple places:
- in the all_tests() function
- in the 'usage()' function
- in the getopts: short option + what to do when the option is used
Because it is easy to forget one of them, it is useful to have to define
them only once.
Note: only using an associative array would simplify the code but the
entries are stored in a hashtable and iterating over the different items
doesn't give the same order as the one used in the declaration of this
array. Because we want to run these tests in the same order as before, a
"simple" array is used first.

When using "run_cmd <command> &", then "$!" refers to the PID of the
subshell used to run <command>, not the command itself. Therefore
nettest_pids actually doesn't contain the list of the nettest commands
running in the background. So cleanup() can't kill them and the nettest
processes run until completion (fortunately they have a 5s timeout).
Fix this by defining a new command for running processes in the
background, for which "$!" really refers to the PID of the command run.
Also, double quote variables on the modified lines, to avoid shellcheck

Fix this by running cleanup() in the context of the test subshell.
Now that each test cleans the environment after completion, there's no
need for calling cleanup() again when the next test starts. So let's
drop it from the setup() function. This is okay because cleanup() is
also called when pmtu.sh starts, so even the first test starts in a
clean environment.
Also, use tcpdump's immediate mode. Otherwise it might not have time to
process buffered packets, resulting in missing packets or even empty
pcap files for short tests.
Note: PAUSE_ON_FAIL is still evaluated before cleanup(), so one can
still inspect the test environment upon failure when using -p.

In some edge scenarios, an MPTCP subflows can use a local address
mapped by a "implicit" endpoint created by the in-kernel path manager.
Such endpoints presence can be confusing, as it's creation is hard
to track and will prevent the later endpoint creation from the user-space
using the same address.
Define a new endpoint flag to mark implicit endpoints and allow the
user-space to replace implicit them with user-provided data at endpoint

MPTCP client can attempt creating multiple MPJ subflow simultaneusly.
In such scenario the server, when syncookies are enabled, could end-up
accepting incoming MPJ syn even above the configured subflow limit, as
the such limit can be enforced in a reliable way only after the subflow
creation. In case of syncookie, only after the 3rd ack reception.
As a consequence the related self-tests case sporadically fails, as it
verify that the server always accept the expected number of MPJ syn.

Instead of waiting for an arbitrary amount of time for the MPTCP
MP_CAPABLE handshake to complete, explicitly wait for the relevant
socket to enter into the established status.
Additionally let the data transfer application use the slowest
transfer mode available (-r), to cope with very slow host, or
high jitter caused by hosting VMs.

This patch added the data checksum error mib counters check for the
script mptcp_connect.sh when the data checksum is enabled.
In do_transfer(), got the mib counters twice, before and after running
the mptcp_connect commands. The latter minus the former is the actual
number of the data checksum mib counter.
The output looks like this:
ns1 MPTCP -> ns2 (dead:beef:1::2:10007) MPTCP (duration 86ms) [ OK ]
ns1 MPTCP -> ns2 (10.0.2.1:10008 ) MPTCP (duration 66ms) [ FAIL ]
server got 1 data checksum error[s]

With the increase number of tests, one CI instance, using a debug kernel
config and not recent hardware, takes around 10 minutes to execute the
slowest MPTCP test: mptcp_join.sh.
Even if most CIs don't take that long to execute these tests --
typically max 10 minutes to run all selftests -- it will help some of
them if the timeout is increased.
The timeout could be disabled but it is always good to have an extra
safeguard, just in case.
Please note that on slow public CIs with kernel debug settings, it has
been observed it can easily take up to 45 minutes to execute all tests
in this very slow environment with other jobs running in parallel.
The slowest test, mptcp_join.sh takes ~30 minutes in this case.
In such environments, the selftests timeout set in the 'settings' file
is disabled because this environment is known as being exceptionnally
slow. It has been decided not to take such exceptional environments into
account and set the timeout to 20min.

in current Linux, MTU policing does not take into account that packets at
the TC ingress have the L2 header pulled. Thus, the same TC police action
(with the same value of tcfp_mtu) behaves differently for ingress/egress.
In addition, the full GSO size is compared to tcfp_mtu: as a consequence,
the policer drops GSO packets even when individual segments have the L2 +
L3 + L4 + payload length below the configured valued of tcfp_mtu.
Improve the accuracy of MTU policing as follows:
- account for mac_len for non-GSO packets at TC ingress.
- compare MTU threshold with the segmented size for GSO packets.
Also, add a kselftest that verifies the correct behavior.

The ->rtm_tos option is normally used to route packets based on both
the destination address and the DS field. However it's ignored for
IPv6 routes. Setting ->rtm_tos for IPv6 is thus invalid as the route
is going to work only on the destination address anyway, so it won't
behave as specified.
