26cc115d59 ptp: Fix type of mode parameter in ptp_ocp_dpll_mode_get()
When building with -Wincompatible-function-pointer-types-strict, a
warning designed to catch potential kCFI failures at build time rather
than run time due to incorrect function pointer types, there is a
warning due to a mismatch between the type of the mode parameter in
ptp_ocp_dpll_mode_get() vs. what the function pointer prototype for
->mode_get() in 'struct dpll_device_ops' expects.

40b0425f8b net: ptp: create a mock-up PTP Hardware Clock driver
There are several cases where virtual net devices may benefit from
having a PTP clock, and these have to do with testing. I can see at
least netdevsim and veth as potential users of a common mock-up PTP
hardware clock driver.

The proposed idea is to create an object which emulates PTP clock
operations on top of the unadjustable CLOCK_MONOTONIC_RAW plus a
software-controlled time domain via a timecounter/cyclecounter and then
link that PHC to the netdevsim device.

The driver is fully functional for its intended purpose, and it
successfully passes the PTP selftests.

9ffc4de5c6 ptp: Explicitly include correct DT includes
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

The .adjphase operation is an operation that is implemented only by certain
PHCs. The sysfs device attribute node for querying the maximum phase
adjustment supported should not be exposed on devices that do not support
.adjphase.

e156e4d2e4 ptp: idt82p33: Add .getmaxphase ptp_clock_info callback
Advertise the maximum offset the .adjphase callback is capable of
supporting in nanoseconds for IDT devices.

Refactor the negation of the offset stored in the register to be after the
boundary check of the offset value rather than before. Boundary check based
on the intended value rather than its device-specific representation.
Depend on ptp_clock_adjtime for handling out-of-range offsets.
ptp_clock_adjtime returns -ERANGE instead of clamping out-of-range offsets.

c3b60ab7a4 ptp: Add .getmaxphase callback to ptp_clock_info
Enables advertisement of the maximum offset supported by the phase control
functionality of PHCs. The callback is used to return an error if an offset
not supported by the PHC is used in ADJ_OFFSET. The ioctls
PTP_CLOCK_GETCAPS and PTP_CLOCK_GETCAPS2 now advertise the maximum offset a
PHC's phase control functionality is capable of supporting. Introduce new
sysfs node, max_phase_adjustment.

c8cc2ae229 net: pch_gbe: Allow build on MIPS_GENERIC kernel
MIPS Boston board, which is using MIPS_GENERIC kernel is using
EG20T PCH and thus need this driver.

Dependency of PCH_GBE, PTP_1588_CLOCK_PCH is also fixed for
MIPS_GENERIC.

Note that CONFIG_PCH_GBE is selected in arch/mips/configs/generic/
board-boston.config for a while, some how it's never wired up
in Kconfig.

Here is the large set of driver core changes for 6.4-rc1.
 
 Once again, a busy development cycle, with lots of changes happening in
 the driver core in the quest to be able to move "struct bus" and "struct
 class" into read-only memory, a task now complete with these changes.
 
 This will make the future rust interactions with the driver core more
 "provably correct" as well as providing more obvious lifetime rules for
 all busses and classes in the kernel.
 
 The changes required for this did touch many individual classes and
 busses as many callbacks were changed to take const * parameters
 instead.  All of these changes have been submitted to the various
 subsystem maintainers, giving them plenty of time to review, and most of
 them actually did so.
 
 Other than those changes, included in here are a small set of other
 things:
   - kobject logging improvements
   - cacheinfo improvements and updates
   - obligatory fw_devlink updates and fixes
   - documentation updates
   - device property cleanups and const * changes
   - firwmare loader dependency fixes.
 
 All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported

615927f1a4 ptp: add ToD device driver for Intel FPGA cards
Adding a DFL (Device Feature List) device driver of ToD device for
Intel FPGA cards.

The Intel FPGA Time of Day(ToD) IP within the FPGA DFL bus is exposed
as PTP Hardware clock(PHC) device to the Linux PTP stack to synchronize
the system clock to its ToD information using phc2sys utility of the
Linux PTP stack. The DFL is a hardware List within FPGA, which defines
a linked list of feature headers within the device MMIO space to provide
an extensible way of adding subdevice features.

f33642224e ptp_qoriq: fix memory leak in probe()
Smatch complains that:
drivers/ptp/ptp_qoriq.c ptp_qoriq_probe()
warn: 'base' from ioremap() not released.

Fix this by revising the parameter from 'ptp_qoriq->base' to 'base'.
This is only a bug if ptp_qoriq_init() returns on the
first -ENODEV error path.
For other error paths ptp_qoriq->base and base are the same.
And this change makes the code more readable.

6365ba64b4 ptp: kvm: Use decrypted memory in confidential guest on x86
KVM_HC_CLOCK_PAIRING currently fails inside SEV-SNP guests because the
guest passes an address to static data to the host. In confidential
computing the host can't access arbitrary guest memory so handling the
hypercall runs into an "rmpfault". To make the hypercall work, the guest
needs to explicitly mark the memory as decrypted. Do that in
kvm_arch_ptp_init(), but retain the previous behavior for
non-confidential guests to save us from having to allocate memory.

Add a new arch-specific function (kvm_arch_ptp_exit()) to free the
allocation and mark the memory as encrypted again.

10a03c36b7 drivers: remove struct module * setting from struct class
There is no need to manually set the owner of a struct class, as the
registering function does it automatically, so remove all of the
explicit settings from various drivers that did so as it is unneeded.

This allows us to remove this pointer entirely from this structure going
forward.

67d93ffc0f ptp: vclock: use mutex to fix "sleep on atomic" bug
vclocks were using spinlocks to protect access to its timecounter and
cyclecounter. Access to timecounter/cyclecounter is backed by the same
driver callbacks that are used for non-virtual PHCs, but the usage of
the spinlock imposes a new limitation that didn't exist previously: now
they're called in atomic context so they mustn't sleep.

Some drivers like sfc or ice may sleep on these callbacks, causing
errors like "BUG: scheduling while atomic: ptp5/25223/0x00000002"

Fix it replacing the vclock's spinlock by a mutex. It fix the mentioned
bug and it doesn't introduce longer delays.

I've tested synchronizing various different combinations of clocks:
- vclock->sysclock
- sysclock->vclock
- vclock->vclock
- hardware PHC in different NIC -> vclock
- created 4 vclocks and launch 4 parallel phc2sys processes with
  lockdep enabled

In all cases, comparing the delays reported by phc2sys, they are in the
same range of values than before applying the patch.

24a7fffb25 ptp_qoriq: fix latency in ptp_qoriq_adjtime() operation
1588 driver loses about 1us in adjtime operation at PTP slave
This is because adjtime operation uses a slow non-atomic tmr_cnt_read()
followed by tmr_cnt_write() operation.

In the above sequence, since the timer counter operation keeps
incrementing, it leads to latency. The tmr_offset register
(which is added to TMR_CNT_H/L register giving the current time)
must be programmed with the delta nanoseconds.

226bf98055 net: devlink: let the core report the driver name instead of the drivers
The driver name is available in device_driver::name. Right now,
drivers still have to report this piece of information themselves in
their devlink_ops::info_get callback function.

In order to factorize code, make devlink_nl_info_fill() add the driver
name attribute.

Now that the core sets the driver name attribute, drivers are not
supposed to call devlink_info_driver_name_put() anymore. Remove
devlink_info_driver_name_put() and clean-up all the drivers using this
function in their callback.

6c0eb5ba35 ACPI: make remove callback of ACPI driver void
For bus-based driver, device removal is implemented as:
1 device_remove()->
2   bus->remove()->
3     driver->remove()

Driver core needs no inform from callee(bus driver) about the
result of remove callback. In that case, commit fc7a6209d5
("bus: Make remove callback return void") forces bus_type::remove
be void-returned.

Now we have the situation that both 1 & 2 of calling chain are
void-returned, so it does not make much sense for 3(driver->remove)
to return non-void to its caller.

So the basic idea behind this change is making remove() callback of
any bus-based driver to be void-returned.

This change, for itself, is for device drivers based on acpi-bus.

e2bd9c76c8 ptp: convert remaining drivers to adjfine interface
Convert all remaining drivers that still use .adjfreq to the newer .adjfine
implementation. These drivers are not straightforward, as they use
non-standard methods of programming their hardware. They are all converted
to use scaled_ppm_to_ppb to get the parts per billion value that their
logic depends on.

69dbe1079c ptp: ocp: add Orolia timecard support
This brings in the Orolia timecard support from the GitHub repository.
The card uses different drivers to provide access to i2c EEPROM and
firmware SPI flash. And it also has a bit different EEPROM map, but

The NTL timecard design has a PPS1 selector which selects the
the PPS source automatically, according to Section 1.9 of the
documentation.

  If there is a SMA PPS input detected:
     - send signal to MAC and PPS slave selector.

  If there is a MAC PPS input detected:
     - send GNSS1 to the MAC
     - send MAC to the PPS slave

  If there is a GNSS1 input detected:
     - send GNSS1 to the MAC
     - send GNSS1 to the PPS slave.MAC

Change the debugfs summary so it reflects the correct mapping,
for assistance in debugging.  No functional change.

In the detach path, the driver calls sysfs_remove_group() for the
groups it believes has been registered.  However, if the group was
never previously registered, then this causes a splat.

Instead, compute the groups that should be registered in advance,
and then call sysfs_create_groups(), which registers them all at once.

Update the error handling appropriately.

fcf308e509 ptp: Speed up vclock lookup
ptp_convert_timestamp() is called in the RX path of network messages.
The current implementation takes ~5000ns on 1.2GHz A53. This is too much
for the hot path of packet processing.

Introduce hash table for fast vclock lookup in ptp_convert_timestamp().
The execution time of ptp_convert_timestamp() is reduced to ~700ns on
1.2GHz A53.

ptp_convert_timestamp() converts only the timestamp hwtstamp, which is
a field of the argument with the type struct skb_shared_hwtstamps *. So
a pointer to the hwtstamp field of this structure is sufficient.

Rework ptp_convert_timestamp() to use an argument of type ktime_t *.
This allows to add additional timestamp manipulation stages before the
call of ptp_convert_timestamp().

42704b26b0 ptp: Add cycles support for virtual clocks
ptp vclocks require a free running time for their timecounter.
Currently only a physical clock forced to free running is supported.
If vclocks are used, then the physical clock cannot be synchronized
anymore. The synchronized time is not available in hardware in this
case. As a result, timed transmission with TAPRIO hardware support
is not possible anymore.

If hardware would support a free running time additionally to the
physical clock, then the physical clock does not need to be forced to
free running. Thus, the physical clocks can still be synchronized
while vclocks are in use.

The physical clock could be used to synchronize the time domain of the
TSN network and trigger TAPRIO. In parallel vclocks can be used to
synchronize other time domains.

Introduce support for a free running cycle counter called cycles to
physical clocks. Rework ptp vclocks to use this free running cycle
counter. Default implementation is based on time of physical clock.
Thus, behavior of ptp vclocks based on physical clocks without free
running cycle counter is identical to previous behavior.

4bd46bb037 ptp: ocp: Use DIV64_U64_ROUND_UP for rounding.
The initial code used roundup() to round the starting time to
a multiple of a period.  This generated an error on 32-bit
systems, so was replaced with DIV_ROUND_UP_ULL().

However, this truncates to 32-bits on a 64-bit system.  Replace
with DIV64_U64_ROUND_UP() instead.

Input signals can be steered to any of the frequency counters.
The counter measures the frequency over a number of seconds:

  echo 0 > freq1/seconds  = turns off measurement
  echo 1 > freq1/seconds  = sets period & turns on measurment.

Newer firmware provides 4 programmable signal generators, add
support for those here.  The signal generators provide the
ability to set the period, duty cycle, phase offset, and polarity,
with new values defaulting to prior values.

The period and phase offset are specified in nanoseconds.

E.g:    period [duty [phase [polarity]]]

  echo 500000000 > signal	# 1/2 second period
  echo 1000000 40 100 > signal	# 1ms period, 40% on, offset 100ns
  echo 0 > signal		# turn off generator

c17c4059df ptp: ocp: add UPF_NO_THRE_TEST flag for serial ports
The serial port driver attempts to test for correct THRE behavior
on startup.  However, it does this by disabling interrupts, and
then intentionally trying to trigger an interrupt in order to see
if the IIR bit is set in the UART.

However, in this FPGA design, the UART interrupt is generated
through the MSI vector, so when interrupts are re-enabled after
the test, the DMAR-IR reports an unhandled IRTE entry, since
no irq handler is installed at this point - it is installed
after the test.

This only happens on the /second/ open of the UART, since on the
first open, the x86_vector has installed and activated by the
driver probe, and is correctly handled.  When the serial port is
closed for the first time, this vector is deactivated and removed,
leading to this error.

0cfcdd1ebc ptp: ocp: add nvmem interface for accessing eeprom
Add the at24 drivers for the eeprom, and use the accessors
via the nvmem API instead of direct i2c accesses.  This makes
things cleaner.

Add an eeprom map table which specifies where the pre-defined
information is located.  Retrieve the information and and export
it via the devlink interface.

90f8f4c0e3 ptp: ocp: Add ptp_ocp_adjtime_coarse for large adjustments
In ("ptp: ocp: Have FPGA fold in ns adjustment for adjtime."), the
ns adjustment was written to the FPGA register, so the clock could
accurately perform adjustments.

However, the adjtime() call passes in a s64, while the clock adjustment
registers use a s32.  When trying to perform adjustments with a large
value (37 sec), things fail.

Examine the incoming delta, and if larger than 1 sec, use the original
(coarse) adjustment method.  If smaller than 1 sec, then allow the
FPGA to fold in the changes over a 1 second window.
