230800cd31 arm64: Require that system registers at all visible ELs be initialized
Currently we require that software at a higher exception level initialise
all registers at the exception level the kernel will be entered prior to
starting the kernel in order to ensure that there is nothing uninitialised
which could result in an UNKNOWN state while running the kernel. The
expectation is that the software running at the highest exception levels
will be tightly coupled to the system and can ensure that all available
features are appropriately initialised and that the kernel can initialise
anything else.

There is a gap here in the case where new registers are added to lower
exception levels that require initialisation but the kernel does not yet
understand them. Extend the requirement to also include exception levels
below the one where the kernel is entered to cover this.

3e237387bb arm64: Document requirements for fine grained traps at boot
The arm64 FEAT_FGT extension introduces a set of traps to EL2 for accesses
to small sets of registers and instructions from EL1 and EL0, access to
which is controlled by EL3.  Require access to it so that it is
available to us in future and so that we can ensure these traps are
disabled during boot.

20109a859a arm64: kernel: disable CNP on Carmel
On NVIDIA Carmel cores, CNP behaves differently than it does on standard
ARM cores. On Carmel, if two cores have CNP enabled and share an L2 TLB
entry created by core0 for a specific ASID, a non-shareable TLBI from
core1 may still see the shared entry. On standard ARM cores, that TLBI
will invalidate the shared entry as well.

This causes issues with patchsets that attempt to do local TLBIs based
on cpumasks instead of broadcast TLBIs. Avoid these issues by disabling
CNP support for NVIDIA Carmel cores.

e14a371f73 Documentation: arm64/acpi : clarify arm64 support of IBFT
In commit 94bccc3407 ("iscsi_ibft: make ISCSI_IBFT dependson ACPI instead
of ISCSI_IBFT_FIND") Kconfig was disentangled to make ISCSI_IBFT selection
not depend on x86.

Update arm64 acpi documentation, changing IBFT support status from
"Not Supported" to "Optional".
Opportunistically re-flow paragraph for changed lines.

dceec3ff78 arm64: expose FAR_EL1 tag bits in siginfo
The kernel currently clears the tag bits (i.e. bits 56-63) in the fault
address exposed via siginfo.si_addr and sigcontext.fault_address. However,
the tag bits may be needed by tools in order to accurately diagnose
memory errors, such as HWASan [1] or future tools based on the Memory
Tagging Extension (MTE).

Expose these bits via the arch_untagged_si_addr mechanism, so that
they are only exposed to signal handlers with the SA_EXPOSE_TAGBITS
flag set.

9ad7c6d5e7 arm64: mm: tidy up top of kernel VA space
Tidy up the way the top of the kernel VA space is organized, by mirroring
the 256 MB region we have below the vmalloc space, and populating it top
down with the PCI I/O space, some guard regions, and the fixmap region.
The latter region is itself populated top down, and today only covers
about 4 MB, and so 224 MB is ample, and no guard region is therefore
required.

The resulting layout is identical between 48-bit/4k and 52-bit/64k
configurations.

8c96400d6a arm64: mm: make vmemmap region a projection of the linear region
Now that we have reverted the introduction of the vmemmap struct page
pointer and the separate physvirt_offset, we can simplify things further,
and place the vmemmap region in the VA space in such a way that virtual
to page translations and vice versa can be implemented using a single
arithmetic shift.

One happy coincidence resulting from this is that the 48-bit/4k and
52-bit/64k configurations (which are assumed to be the two most
prevalent) end up with the same placement of the vmemmap region. In
a subsequent patch, we will take advantage of this, and unify the
memory maps even more.

f4693c2716 arm64: mm: extend linear region for 52-bit VA configurations
For historical reasons, the arm64 kernel VA space is configured as two
equally sized halves, i.e., on a 48-bit VA build, the VA space is split
into a 47-bit vmalloc region and a 47-bit linear region.

When support for 52-bit virtual addressing was added, this equal split
was kept, resulting in a substantial waste of virtual address space in
the linear region:

As illustrated above, the 52-bit VA kernel uses 47 bits for the vmalloc
space (as before), to ensure that a single 64k granule kernel image can
support any 64k granule capable system, regardless of whether it supports
the 52-bit virtual addressing extension. However, due to the fact that
the VA space is still split in equal halves, the linear region is only
2^51 bytes in size, wasting almost half of the 52-bit VA space.

Let's fix this, by abandoning the equal split, and simply assigning all
VA space outside of the vmalloc region to the linear region.

The KASAN shadow region is reconfigured so that it ends at the start of
the vmalloc region, and grows downwards. That way, the arrangement of
the vmalloc space (which contains kernel mappings, modules, BPF region,
the vmemmap array etc) is identical between non-KASAN and KASAN builds,
which aids debugging.

96d389ca10 arm64: Add workaround for Arm Cortex-A77 erratum 1508412
On Cortex-A77 r0p0 and r1p0, a sequence of a non-cacheable or device load
and a store exclusive or PAR_EL1 read can cause a deadlock.

The workaround requires a DMB SY before and after a PAR_EL1 register
read. In addition, it's possible an interrupt (doing a device read) or
KVM guest exit could be taken between the DMB and PAR read, so we
also need a DMB before returning from interrupt and before returning to
a guest.

A deadlock is still possible with the workaround as KVM guests must also
have the workaround. IOW, a malicious guest can deadlock an affected
systems.

This workaround also depends on a firmware counterpart to enable the h/w
to insert DMB SY after load and store exclusive instructions. See the
errata document SDEN-1152370 v10 [1] for more information.

ef5dd6a0c8 arm64: mte: Document that user PSTATE.TCO is ignored by kernel uaccess
On exception entry, the kernel explicitly resets the PSTATE.TCO (tag
check override) so that any kernel memory accesses will be checked (the
bit is restored on exception return). This has the side-effect that the
uaccess routines will not honour the PSTATE.TCO that may have been set
by the user prior to a syscall.

There is no issue in practice since PSTATE.TCO is expected to be used
only for brief periods in specific routines (e.g. garbage collection).
To control the tag checking mode of the uaccess routines, the user will
have to invoke a corresponding prctl() call.

Document the kernel behaviour w.r.t. PSTATE.TCO accordingly.

f2d9848aeb iommu/arm-smmu: Workaround for Marvell Armada-AP806 SoC erratum #582743
Due to erratum #582743, the Marvell Armada-AP806 can't access 64bit to
ARM SMMUv2 registers.

Provide implementation relevant hooks:
- split the writeq/readq to two accesses of writel/readl.
- mask the MMU_IDR2.PTFSv8 fields to not use AArch64 format (but
only AARCH32_L) since with AArch64 format 32 bits access is not supported.

Note that most 64-bit registers like TTBRn can be accessed as two 32-bit
halves without issue, and AArch32 format ensures that the register writes
which must be atomic (for TLBI etc.) need only be 32-bit.

9ba6a9efa4 docs/arm64: Fix typo'd #define in sve.rst
sve.rst describes a flag PR_SVE_SET_VL_INHERIT for the
PR_SVE_SET_VL prctl, but there is no flag of this name.  The flag
is shared between the _GET and _SET calls, so the _SET prefix was
dropped, giving the name PR_SVE_VL_INHERIT in the headers.

Fix it.

Although we require that the loaded kernel Image has been cleaned to the
PoC, we neglect to spell out the state of the I-cache. Although this
should be reasonably obvious, it doesn't hurt to be explicit.

Require that the I-cache doesn't hold any stale entries for the kernel

8ef8f360cf arm64: Basic Branch Target Identification support
This patch adds the bare minimum required to expose the ARMv8.5
Branch Target Identification feature to userspace.

By itself, this does _not_ automatically enable BTI for any initial
executable pages mapped by execve().  This will come later, but for
now it should be possible to enable BTI manually on those pages by
using mprotect() from within the target process.

Other arches already using the generic mman.h are already using
0x10 for arch-specific prot flags, so we use that for PROT_BTI
here.

For consistency, signal handler entry points in BTI guarded pages
are required to be annotated as such, just like any other function.
This blocks a relatively minor attack vector, but comforming
userspace will have the annotations anyway, so we may as well
enforce them.

Work around it by adding a new quirk for the following variants:

reserved registers (including redistributors and ITS) are impacted
by this erratum, but that only GICD_TYPER2 has to be worked around

dcde237319 mm: Avoid creating virtual address aliases in brk()/mmap()/mremap()
Currently the arm64 kernel ignores the top address byte passed to brk(),
mmap() and mremap(). When the user is not aware of the 56-bit address
limit or relies on the kernel to return an error, untagging such
pointers has the potential to create address aliases in user-space.
Passing a tagged address to munmap(), madvise() is permitted since the
tagged pointer is expected to be inside an existing mapping.

The current behaviour breaks the existing glibc malloc() implementation
which relies on brk() with an address beyond 56-bit to be rejected by
the kernel.

Remove untagging in the above functions by partially reverting commit
ce18d171cb ("mm: untag user pointers in mmap/munmap/mremap/brk"). In
addition, update the arm64 tagged-address-abi.rst document accordingly.

1a50ec0b3b arm64: Implement archrandom.h for ARMv8.5-RNG
Expose the ID_AA64ISAR0.RNDR field to userspace, as the RNG system
registers are always available at EL0.

Implement arch_get_random_seed_long using RNDR.  Given that the
TRNG is likely to be a shared resource between cores, and VMs,
do not explicitly force re-seeding with RNDRRS.  In order to avoid
code complexity and potential issues with hetrogenous systems only
provide values after cpufeature has finalized the system capabilities.

275fa0ea2c arm64: Workaround for Cortex-A55 erratum 1530923
Cortex-A55 erratum 1530923 allows TLB entries to be allocated as a
result of a speculative AT instruction. This may happen in the middle of
a guest world switch while the relevant VMSA configuration is in an
inconsistent state, leading to erroneous content being allocated into
TLBs.

The same workaround as is used for Cortex-A76 erratum 1165522
(WORKAROUND_SPECULATIVE_AT_VHE) can be used here. Note that this
mandates the use of VHE on affected parts.

Similarly to erratum 1165522 that affects Cortex-A76, A57 and A72
respectively suffer from errata 1319537 and 1319367, potentially
resulting in TLB corruption if the CPU speculates an AT instruction
while switching guests.

The fix is slightly more involved since we don't have VHE to help us
here, but the idea is the same: when switching a guest in, we must
prevent any speculated AT from being able to parse the page tables
until S2 is up and running. Only at this stage can we allow AT to take
place.

For this, we always restore the guest sysregs first, except for its
SCTLR and TCR registers, which must be set with SCTLR.M=1 and
TCR.EPD{0,1} = {1, 1}, effectively disabling the PTW and TLB
allocation. Once S2 is setup, we restore the guest's SCTLR and
TCR. Similar things must be done on TLB invalidation...

6a036afb55 Merge branch 'for-next/neoverse-n1-stale-instr' into for-next/core
Neoverse-N1 cores with the 'COHERENT_ICACHE' feature may fetch stale
instructions when software depends on prefetch-speculation-protection
instead of explicit synchronization. [0]

The workaround is to trap I-Cache maintenance and issue an
inner-shareable TLBI. The affected cores have a Coherent I-Cache, so the
I-Cache maintenance isn't necessary. The core tells user-space it can
skip it with CTR_EL0.DIC. We also have to trap this register to hide the
bit forcing DIC-aware user-space to perform the maintenance.

To avoid trapping all cache-maintenance, this workaround depends on
a firmware component that only traps I-cache maintenance from EL0 and
performs the workaround.

For user-space, the kernel's work is to trap CTR_EL0 to hide DIC, and
produce a fake IminLine. EL3 traps the now-necessary I-Cache maintenance
and performs the inner-shareable-TLBI that makes everything better.

when a branch is updated to point to freshly generated instructions.

Part of the hardware capabilities documented in elf_hwcap.rst are

On AArch64 the TCR_EL1.TBI0 bit is set by default, allowing userspace
(EL0) to perform memory accesses through 64-bit pointers with a non-zero
top byte. However, such pointers were not allowed at the user-kernel
syscall ABI boundary.

With the Tagged Address ABI patchset, it is now possible to pass tagged
pointers to the syscalls. Relax the requirements described in
tagged-pointers.rst to be compliant with the behaviours guaranteed by
the AArch64 Tagged Address ABI.

7f2481b39b irqchip/gic-v3: Add quirks for HIP06/07 invalid GICD_TYPER erratum 161010803
It looks like the HIP06/07 SoCs have extra bits in their GICD_TYPER
registers, which confuse the GICv3.1 code (these systems appear to
expose ESPIs while they actually don't).

Detect these systems as early as possible and wipe the fields that
should be RES0 in the register.

6bd1d0be0e arm64: kasan: Switch to using KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET
KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET is a constant that is supplied to gcc as a command
line argument and affects the codegen of the inline address sanetiser.

Essentially, for an example memory access:
    *ptr1 = val;
The compiler will insert logic similar to the below:
    shadowValue = *(ptr1 >> KASAN_SHADOW_SCALE_SHIFT + KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET)
    if (somethingWrong(shadowValue))
        flagAnError();

This code sequence is inserted into many places, thus
KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET is essentially baked into many places in the kernel
text.

If we want to run a single kernel binary with multiple address spaces,
then we need to do this with KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET fixed.

Thankfully, due to the way the KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET is used to provide
shadow addresses we know that the end of the shadow region is constant
w.r.t. VA space size:
    KASAN_SHADOW_END = ~0 >> KASAN_SHADOW_SCALE_SHIFT + KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET

This means that if we increase the size of the VA space, the start of
the KASAN region expands into lower addresses whilst the end of the
KASAN region is fixed.

Currently the arm64 code computes KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET at build time via
build scripts with the VA size used as a parameter. (There are build
time checks in the C code too to ensure that expected values are being
derived). It is sufficient, and indeed is a simplification, to remove
the build scripts (and build time checks) entirely and instead provide
KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET values.

This patch removes the logic to compute the KASAN_SHADOW_OFFSET in the
arm64 Makefile, and instead we adopt the approach used by x86 to supply
offset values in kConfig. To help debug/develop future VA space changes,
the Makefile logic has been preserved in a script file in the arm64
Documentation folder.

3276cc2489 arm64: Update silicon-errata.txt for Neoverse-N1 #1349291
Neoverse-N1 affected by #1349291 may report an Uncontained RAS Error
as Unrecoverable. The kernel's architecture code already considers
Unrecoverable errors as fatal as without kernel-first support no
further error-handling is possible.

Now that KVM attributes SError to the host/guest more precisely
the host's architecture code will always handle host errors that
become pending during world-switch.
Errors misclassified by this errata that affected the guest will be
re-injected to the guest as an implementation-defined SError, which can
be uncontained.

Until kernel-first support is implemented, no workaround is needed
for this issue.

41040cf7c5 arm64/sve: Fix missing SVE/FPSIMD endianness conversions
The in-memory representation of SVE and FPSIMD registers is
different: the FPSIMD V-registers are stored as single 128-bit
host-endian values, whereas SVE registers are stored in an
endianness-invariant byte order.

This means that the two representations differ when running on a
big-endian host.  But we blindly copy data from one representation
to another when converting between the two, resulting in the
register contents being unintentionally byteswapped in certain
situations.  Currently this can be triggered by the first SVE
instruction after a syscall, for example (though the potential
trigger points may vary in future).

So, fix the conversion functions fpsimd_to_sve(), sve_to_fpsimd()
and sve_sync_from_fpsimd_zeropad() to swab where appropriate.

There is no common swahl128() or swab128() that we could use here.
Maybe it would be worth making this generic, but for now add a
simple local hack.

Since the byte order differences are exposed in ABI, also clarify
the documentation.

a5325089bd arm64: Handle erratum 1418040 as a superset of erratum 1188873
We already mitigate erratum 1188873 affecting Cortex-A76 and
Neoverse-N1 r0p0 to r2p0. It turns out that revisions r0p0 to
r3p1 of the same cores are affected by erratum 1418040, which
has the same workaround as 1188873.

Let's expand the range of affected revisions to match 1418040,
and repaint all occurences of 1188873 to 1418040. Whilst we're
there, do a bit of reformating in silicon-errata.txt and drop
a now unnecessary dependency on ARM_ARCH_TIMER_OOL_WORKAROUND.
