The schematics are misleading, the flow control is for HSCIF1. We need
SCIF1 for GNSS/GPS which does not use flow control.

The 96Boards specification expects a 1.8V power rail on the low-speed
expansion connector that is able to provide at least 0.18W / 100 mA.
According to the DB410c hardware user manual this is done by connecting
both L15 and L16 in parallel with up to 55mA each (for 110 mA total) [1].
Unfortunately the current regulator setup in the DB410c device tree
does not implement the specification correctly and only provides 5 mA:
- Only L15 is marked always-on, so L16 is never enabled.
- Without specifying a load the regulator is put into LPM where
it can only provide 5 mA.
Fix this by:
- Adding proper voltage constraints for L16.
- Making L16 always-on.
- Adding regulator-system-load for both L15 and L16. 100 mA should be
available in total, so specify 50 mA for each. (The regulator
hardware can only be in normal (55 mA) or low-power mode (5 mA) so
this will actually result in the expected 110 mA total...)

For some reason DB410c has completely bogus regulator constraints that
actually just correspond to the programmable voltages which are already
provided by the regulator driver. Some of them are not just outside the
recommended operating conditions of the APQ8016E SoC but even exceed
the absolute maximum ratings, potentially risking permanent device
damage.
In practice it's not quite as dangerous thanks to the RPM firmware:
It turns out that it has its own voltage constraints and silently
clamps all regulator requests. For example, requesting 3.3V for L5
(allowed by the current regulator constraints!) still results in 1.8V
being programmed in the actual regulator hardware.
Experimentation with various voltages shows that the internal RPM
voltage constraints roughly correspond to the safe "specified range"
in the PM8916 Device Specification (rather than the "programmable
range" used inside apq8016-sbc.dtsi right now).
Combine those together with some fixed voltages used in the old
msm-3.10 device tree from Qualcomm to give DB410c some actually valid
voltage constraints.

For some reason apq8016-sbc, apq8096-db820c, msm8916-mtp and msm8996-mtp
were added as separate .dts and .dtsi files where the first only contains
the model name and the latter contains most of the actual definitions.
Perhaps this was done with the expectation that there would be other
devices also making use of exactly the same. However, this has not
been the case until now and it also seems unlikely in the future.
Having the extra .dtsi only clutters the file list and provides
little benefit.
Move the contents of the .dtsi into the .dts file to make this consistent
with most other devices that simply define everything in the .dts.
There are no functional changes introduced by this patch:
The compiled ".dtb"s are completely identical.

Commit 0f6b380d58 ("arm64: dts: qcom: apq8016-sbc: Update modem and WiFi
firmware path") added "firmware-name"s to the APQ8016 SBC (DB410c) device
tree to separate the (test key)-signed firmware from other devices.
However, the added names are a bit confusing. The "modem" firmware used by
DB410c is actually a simplified version for APQ8016 that lacks most of the
modem functionality (phone calls, SMS etc) that is available on MSM8916.
Placing it in "qcom/msm8916/modem.mbn" suggests that it supports all
functionality for MSM and not just the reduced functionality for APQ.
Request the firmware from "qcom/apq8016/modem.mbn" instead to clarify this.
Do the same for "wcnss.mbn" for consistency (although the WCNSS firmware
works just fine on MSM8916).
Finally, add a "_sbc" suffix to the WCNSS_qcom_wlan_nv.bin firmware file.
It seems like the nv.bin firmware is somewhat board specific and can
therefore vary a bit from device to device. This makes it more clear
which board it is intended to be used for.

The firmware for the modem and WiFi subsystems platform specific and is
signed with a OEM specific key (or a test key). In order to support more
than a single device it is therefor not possible to rely on the default
path and stash these files directly in the firmware directory.
This has already been addressed for other platforms, but the APQ8016 SBC
(aka db410c) was never finished upstream.

PSCI is not implemented on SparX-5 at all, there is no ATF and U-boot that
is shipped does not implement it as well.
I have tried flashing the latest BSP 2022.12 U-boot which did not work.
After contacting Microchip, they confirmed that there is no ATF for the
SoC nor PSCI implementation which is unfortunate in 2023.
So, disable PSCI as otherwise kernel crashes as soon as it tries probing
PSCI with, and the crash is only visible if earlycon is used.
Since PSCI is not implemented, switch core bringup to use spin-tables
which are implemented in the vendor U-boot and actually work.
Tested on PCB134 with eMMC (VSC5640EV).

The final production baseboard had a different chip select than
earlier prototype boards. When the newer board was released,
the SPI stopped working because the wrong pin was used in the device
tree and conflicted with the UART RTS. Fix the pinmux for
production boards.

Add the assigned-clocks and assigned-clock-rates properties for the

In general, the three SKUs of sc7180 (lite, normal, and pro) are
handled dynamically.
The cpufreq table in sc7180.dtsi includes the superset of all CPU
frequencies. The "qcom-cpufreq-hw" driver in Linux shows that we can
dynamically detect which frequencies are actually available on the
currently running CPU and then we can just enable those ones.
The GPU is similarly dynamic. The nvmem has a fuse in it (see
"gpu_speed_bin" in sc7180.dtsi) that the GPU driver can use to figure
out which frequencies to enable.
There is one part, however, that is not so dynamic. The way SDRAM
frequency works in sc7180 is that it's tied to cpufreq. At the busiest
cpufreq operating points we'll pick the top supported SDRAM frequency.
They ramp down together.
For the "pro" SKU of sc7180, we only enable one extra cpufreq step.
That extra cpufreq step runs SDRAM at the same speed as the step
below. Thus, for normal and pro things are OK. There is no sc7180-pro
device tree snippet.
For the "lite" SKU if sc7180, however, things aren't so easy. The
"lite" SKU drops 3 cpufreq entries but can still run SDRAM at max
frequency. That messed things up with the whole scheme. This is why we
added the "sc7180-lite" fragment in commit 8fd01e01fd ("arm64: dts:
qcom: sc7180-lite: Tweak DDR/L3 scaling on SC7180-lite").
When the lite scheme came about, it was agreed that the WiFi SKUs of
lazor would _always_ be "lite" and would, in fact, be the only "lite"
devices. Unfortunately, this decision changed and folks didn't realize
that it would be a problem. Specifically, some later lazor WiFi-only
devices were built with "pro" CPUs.
Building WiFi-only lazor with "pro" CPUs isn't the end of the world.
The SDRAM will ramp up a little sooner than it otherwise would, but
aside from a small power hit things work OK. One problem, though, is
that the SDRAM scaling becomes a bit quirky. Specifically, with the
current tables we'll max out SDRAM frequency at 2.1GHz but then
_lower_ it at 2.2GHz / 2.3GHz only to raise it back to max for 2.4GHz
and 2.55GHz.
Let's at least fix this so that the SDRAM frequency doesn't go down in
that quirky way. On true "lite" SKUs this change will be a no-op
because the operating points we're touching are disabled. This change
is only useful when a board that thinks it has a "lite" CPU actually
has a "normal" or "pro" one stuffed.

Like the other calls in this function virt_to_page() expects
a pointer, not an integer.
However since many architectures implement virt_to_pfn() as
a macro, this function becomes polymorphic and accepts both a
(unsigned long) and a (void *).
Fix this up with an explicit cast.

While testing the ethernet interface on a Variscite symphony carrier
board using an imx8mn SOM with an onboard ADIN1300 PHY (EC hardware
configuration), the ethernet PHY is not detected.
The ADIN1300 datasheet indicate that the "Management interface
active (t4)" state is reached at most 5ms after the reset signal is
deasserted.
The device tree in Variscite custom git repository uses the following
property:
phy-reset-post-delay = <20>;
Add a new MDIO property 'reset-deassert-us' of 20ms to have the same
delay inside the ethphy node. Adding this property fixes the problem
with the PHY detection.
Note that this SOM can also have an Atheros AR8033 PHY. In this case,
a 1ms deassert delay is sufficient. Add a comment to that effect.

Consider the following sequence of events:
1) A page in a PROT_READ|PROT_WRITE VMA is faulted.
2) Page migration allocates a page with the KASAN allocator,
causing it to receive a non-match-all tag, and uses it
to replace the page faulted in 1.
3) The program uses mprotect() to enable PROT_MTE on the page faulted in 1.
As a result of step 3, we are left with a non-match-all tag for a page
with tags accessible to userspace, which can lead to the same kind of
tag check faults that commit e74a684680 ("arm64: Reset KASAN tag in
copy_highpage with HW tags only") intended to fix.
The general invariant that we have for pages in a VMA with VM_MTE_ALLOWED
is that they cannot have a non-match-all tag. As a result of step 2, the
invariant is broken. This means that the fix in the referenced commit
was incomplete and we also need to reset the tag for pages without
PG_mte_tagged.

While stressing EAS on my dragonboard RB3, I have noticed that LITTLE cores
where never selected as the most energy efficient CPU whatever the
utilization level of waking task.
energy model framework uses its cost field to estimate the energy with
the formula:
nrg = cost of the selected OPP * utilization / CPU's max capacity
which ends up selecting the CPU with lowest cost / max capacity ration
as long as the utilization fits in the OPP's capacity.
If we compare the cost of a little OPP with similar capacity of a big OPP
like :

This can be interpreted as the LITTLE core consumes 70% more than big core
for the same compute capacity.
According to [1], LITTLE consumes 10% less than big core for Coremark
benchmark at those OPPs. If we consider that everything else stays
unchanged, the dynamic-power-coefficient of LITTLE core should be
only 53% of the current value: 290 * 53% = 154
Set the dynamic-power-coefficient of CPU0-3 to 154 to fix the energy model.

Currently only the first attempt to single-step has any effect. After
that all further stepping remains "stuck" at the same program counter
value.
Refer to the ARM Architecture Reference Manual (ARM DDI 0487E.a) D2.12,
PSTATE.SS=1 should be set at each step before transferring the PE to the
'Active-not-pending' state. The problem here is PSTATE.SS=1 is not set
since the second single-step.
After the first single-step, the PE transferes to the 'Inactive' state,
with PSTATE.SS=0 and MDSCR.SS=1, thus PSTATE.SS won't be set to 1 due to
kernel_active_single_step()=true. Then the PE transferes to the
'Active-pending' state when ERET and returns to the debugger by step
exception.

located in the range of 0x0 to 0x100000. Hence, fix the bogus PCI addresses

For 1MiB of the I/O region, the I/O ports of the legacy PCI devices are
located in the range of 0x0 to 0x100000. Hence, fix the bogus PCI addresses
(0x0c200000, 0x0d200000, 0x0e200000) specified in the ranges property for
I/O region.
While at it, let's also align the entries.

Following sm8150/sm8250 update sdm845 capacity-dmips-mhz and
dynamic-power-coefficient based on the measurements [1], [2].
The energy model dynamic-power-coefficient values were calculated with
DPC = µW / MHz / V^2
for each OPP, and averaged across all OPPs within each cluster for the
final coefficient. Voltages were obtained from the qcom-cpufreq-hw
driver that reads voltages from the OSM LUT programmed into the SoC.
Normalized DMIPS/MHz capacity scale values for each CPU were calculated
from CoreMarks/MHz (CoreMark iterations per second per MHz), which
serves the same purpose. For each CPU, the final capacity-dmips-mhz
value is the C/MHz value of its maximum frequency normalized to
SCHED_CAPACITY_SCALE (1024) for the fastest CPU in the system.

As part of ARCH_BCM4908 to ARCH_BCMBCA migration, move the BCM4908 dts
files to bcmbca folder and use CONFIG_ARCH_BCMBCA to build all the
BCM4908 board dts. Delete bcm4908 folder and its makefile as well.

It's a home router based on BCM4908 SoC. It has: 1 GiB of RAM, 512 MiB
NAND flash, 6 Ethernet ports and 3 x BCM43684 (WiFi). One of Ethernet
ports is "2.5 G Multi-Gig port" that isn't described yet (it isn't known
how it's wired up).

According to latest errata of J721e [1], (i2024) 'MMCSD: Peripherals
Do Not Support HS400' which applies to MMCSD0 subsystem. Speed modes
supported has been already updated but missed dropping 'ti,strobe-sel'
property which is only required by HS400 speed mode.
Thus, drop 'ti,strobe-sel' property from kernel dtsi for J721e SoC.

Rev. 1.11, the System CPU cores on RZ/G2E do not have their own power
supply, but use the common internal power supply (typical 1.03V).
Hence remove the "opp-microvolt" properties from the Operating
Performance Points table. They are optional, and unused, when none of
the CPU nodes is tied to a regulator using the "cpu-supply" property.

Instead of reloading the shadow call stack pointer from the ordinary
stack, which may be vulnerable to the kind of gadget based attacks
shadow call stacks were designed to prevent, let's store a task's shadow
call stack pointer in the task struct when switching to the shadow IRQ
stack.
Given that currently, the task_struct::scs_sp field is only used to
preserve the shadow call stack pointer while a task is scheduled out or
running in user space, reusing this field to preserve and restore it
while running off the IRQ stack must be safe, as those occurrences are
guaranteed to never overlap. (The stack switching logic only switches
stacks when running from the task stack, and so the value being saved
here always corresponds to the task mode shadow stack)
While at it, fold a mov/add/mov sequence into a single add.

All occurrences of the scs_load macro load the value of the shadow call
stack pointer from the task which is current at that point. So instead
of taking a task struct register argument in the scs_load macro to
specify the task struct to load from, let's always reference the current
task directly. This should make it much harder to exploit any
instruction sequences reloading the shadow call stack pointer register
from memory.

Read mmu_invalidate_seq before dropping the mmap_lock so that KVM can
detect if the results of vma_lookup() (e.g. vma_shift) become stale
before it acquires kvm->mmu_lock. This fixes a theoretical bug where a
VMA could be changed by userspace after vma_lookup() and before KVM
reads the mmu_invalidate_seq, causing KVM to install page table entries
based on a (possibly) no-longer-valid vma_shift.
Re-order the MMU cache top-up to earlier in user_mem_abort() so that it
is not done after KVM has read mmu_invalidate_seq (i.e. so as to avoid
inducing spurious fault retries).
This bug has existed since KVM/ARM's inception. It's unlikely that any
sane userspace currently modifies VMAs in such a way as to trigger this
race. And even with directed testing I was unable to reproduce it. But a
sufficiently motivated host userspace might be able to exploit this
race.

Correct PCIe PHY enablement to refer the QMP device nodes rather than

Currently, with VHE, KVM enables the EL0 event counting for the
guest on vcpu_load() or KVM enables it as a part of the PMU
register emulation process, when needed. However, in the migration
case (with VHE), the same handling is lacking, as vPMU register
values that were restored by userspace haven't been propagated yet
(the PMU events haven't been created) at the vcpu load-time on the
first KVM_RUN (kvm_vcpu_pmu_restore_guest() called from vcpu_load()
on the first KVM_RUN won't do anything as events_{guest,host} of
kvm_pmu_events are still zero).
So, with VHE, enable the guest's EL0 event counting on the first
KVM_RUN (after the migration) when needed. More specifically,
have kvm_pmu_handle_pmcr() call kvm_vcpu_pmu_restore_guest()
so that kvm_pmu_handle_pmcr() on the first KVM_RUN can take
care of it.

We walk the userspace PTs to discover what mapping size was
used there. However, this can race against the userspace tables
being freed, and we end-up in the weeds.
Thankfully, the mm code is being generous and will IPI us when
doing so. So let's implement our part of the bargain and disable
interrupts around the walk. This ensures that nothing terrible
happens during that time.
We still need to handle the removal of the page tables before
the walk. For that, allow get_user_mapping_size() to return an
error, and make sure this error can be propagated all the way
to the the exit handler.

Make 'efi_rt_lock' a raw_spinlock to avoid being preempted.

PMK8350 is the first PMIC to require both HLOS and PBS registers for
PON to function properly (at least in theory, sm8350 sees no change).
The support for it on the driver side has been added long ago,
but it has never been wired up. Do so.

For proper warm (re)boot from SD card the BPI-M5 board requires TFLASH_VDD_EN
and VDDIO_C pins to be switched to high impedance mode. This can be achieved
using OPEN_DRAIN instead of ACTIVE_HIGH to leave the GPIO pins in input mode
and retain high state (pin has the pull-up).
This change is inspired by meson-sm1-odroid.dtsi where OPEN_DRAIN has been
used to resolve similar problems with the Odroid C4 board (TF_IO in the C4
dts is the equivalent regulator).

The board used to originally introduce the Beacon Embedded RZ/G2[M/N/H]
boards had a GPIO expander with address 20, but this was changed when
the final board went to production.
The production boards changed both the part itself and the address.
With the incorrect address, the LCD cannot come up. If the LCD fails,
the rcar-du driver fails to come up, and that also breaks HDMI.
Pre-release board were not shipped to the general public, so it should
be safe to push this as a fix. Anyone with a production board would
have video fail due to this GPIO expander change.

Amlogic G12A devices experience CPU stalls and random board wedges when
the system idles and CPU cores clock down to lower opp points. Recent
vendor kernels include a change to remove 100-250MHz and other distro
sources also remove the 500/667MHz points. Unless all 100-667Mhz opps
are removed or the CPU governor forced to performance stalls are still
observed, so let's remove them to improve stability and uptime.

Current PCIe QMP PHY output name were changed in ("arm64: dts: qcom: Fix
IPQ8074 PCIe PHY nodes") however it did not account for the fact that GCC
driver is relying on the old names to match them as they are being used as
the parent for the gcc_pcie0_pipe_clk and gcc_pcie1_pipe_clk.
This broke parenting as GCC could not find the parent clock, so fix it by
changing to the names that driver is expecting.

IPQ8074 comes in 2 silicon versions:
* v1 with 2x Gen2 PCIe ports and QMP PHY-s
* v2 with 1x Gen3 and 1x Gen2 PCIe ports and QMP PHY-s
v2 is the final and production version that is actually supported by the
kernel, however it looks like PCIe related nodes were added for the v1 SoC.
Finish the PCIe fixup by using the correct compatible, adding missing ATU
register space, declaring max-link-speed, use correct ranges, add missing
clocks and resets.

IPQ8074 PCIe PHY nodes are broken in the many ways:
- '#address-cells', '#size-cells' and 'ranges' are missing.
- Child phy/lane node is missing, and the child properties like
'#phy-cells' and 'clocks' are mistakenly put into parent node.
- The clocks properties for parent node are missing.
Fix them to get the nodes comply with the bindings schema.

It seems that clock-output-names for the USB3 QMP PHY-s where set without
actually checking what is the GCC clock driver expecting, so clock core
could never actually find the parents for usb0_pipe_clk_src and
usb1_pipe_clk_src clocks in the GCC driver.
So, correct the names to be what the driver expects so that parenting
works.

Node names should be generic and use hyphens instead of underscores to
not cause warnings. Also nodes without a reg property should not have a
unit-address. Change the scpi_dvfs node to use clock-controller as node
name without a unit address (since it does not have a reg property).

The systimer block derives its 13 MHz clock by dividing the main 26 MHz
oscillator clock by 2 internally, not through the TOPCKGEN clock
controller.
On the MT8183 this divider is set either by power-on-reset or by the
bootloader. The bootloader may then make the divider unconfigurable to,
but can be read out by, the operating system.
Making the systimer block take the 26 MHz clock directly requires
changing the implementations. As an ABI compatible fix, change the
input clock of the systimer block a fixed factor divide-by-2 clock
that takes the 26 MHz oscillator as its input.

The framebuffer configuration for kumano griffin, written in kumano dtsi
(which is overwritten in bahamut dts for its smaller panel) has to use a
1096x2560 configuration as this is what the panel (and framebuffer area)
has been initialized to. Downstream userspace also has access to (and
uses) this 2.5k mode by default, and only switches the panel to 4k when
requested.

The hardware turns out to be pretty sluggish at assuming it can only
do USB2 with just a USB2 phy assigned to it - before it needed about
6 minutes to acknowledge that.
Limit it to USB-HS explicitly to make USB come up about 720x faster.

This clean up the error/notification messages in kprobes related code.
Basically this defines 'pr_fmt()' macros for each files and update
the messages which describes
- what happened,
- what is the kernel going to do or not do,
- is the kernel fine,
- what can the user do about it.
Also, if the message is not needed (e.g. the function returns unique
error code, or other error message is already shown.) remove it,
and replace the message with WARN_*() macros if suitable.

To save the vgic LPI pending state with GICv4.1, the VPEs must all be
unmapped from the ITSs so that the sGIC caches can be flushed.
The opposite is done once the state is saved.
This is all done by using the activate/deactivate irqdomain callbacks
directly from the vgic code. Crutially, this is done without holding
the irqdesc lock for the interrupts that represent the VPE. And these
callbacks are changing the state of the irqdesc. What could possibly
go wrong?
If a doorbell fires while we are messing with the irqdesc state,
it will acquire the lock and change the interrupt state concurrently.
Since we don't hole the lock, curruption occurs in on the interrupt
state. Oh well.
While acquiring the lock would fix this (and this was Shanker's
initial approach), this is still a layering violation we could do
without. A better approach is actually to free the VPE interrupt,
do what we have to do, and re-request it.
It is more work, but this usually happens only once in the lifetime
of the VM and we don't really care about this sort of overhead.

There are two big uses of do_exit. The first is it's design use to be
the guts of the exit(2) system call. The second use is to terminate
a task after something catastrophic has happened like a NULL pointer
in kernel code.
Add a function make_task_dead that is initialy exactly the same as
do_exit to cover the cases where do_exit is called to handle
catastrophic failure. In time this can probably be reduced to just a
light wrapper around do_task_dead. For now keep it exactly the same so
that there will be no behavioral differences introducing this new
concept.
Replace all of the uses of do_exit that use it for catastraphic
task cleanup with make_task_dead to make it clear what the code
is doing.
As part of this rename rewind_stack_do_exit
rewind_stack_and_make_dead.

MSM8992 uses the same mutex hardware as MSM8994. This was wrong
from the start, but never presented as an issue until the sfpb
compatible was given different driver data.

Early hardware did not support hardware handshaking on the UART, but
final production hardware did. When the hardware was updated the chip
select was changed to facilitate hardware handshaking on UART3. Fix the
ecspi2 pin mux to eliminate a pin conflict with UART3 and allow the
EEPROM to operate again.

With the introduction of PRMT in the ACPI subsystem, the EFI rts
workqueue is no longer the only caller of efi_call_virt_pointer() in the
kernel. This means the EFI runtime services lock is no longer sufficient
to manage concurrent calls into firmware, but also that firmware calls
may occur that are not marshalled via the workqueue mechanism, but
originate directly from the caller context.
For added robustness, and to ensure that the runtime services have 8 KiB
of stack space available as per the EFI spec, introduce a spinlock
protected EFI runtime stack of 8 KiB, where the spinlock also ensures
serialization between the EFI rts workqueue (which itself serializes EFI
runtime calls) and other callers of efi_call_virt_pointer().
While at it, use the stack pivot to avoid reloading the shadow call
stack pointer from the ordinary stack, as doing so could produce a
gadget to defeat it.

When CONFIG_ARM64_LSE_ATOMICS=y, each use of an LL/SC atomic results in
a fragment of code being generated in a subsection without a clear
association with its caller. A trampoline in the caller branches to the
LL/SC atomic with with a direct branch, and the atomic directly branches
back into its trampoline.
This breaks backtracing, as any PC within the out-of-line fragment will
be symbolized as an offset from the nearest prior symbol (which may not
be the function using the atomic), and since the atomic returns with a
direct branch, the caller's PC may be missing from the backtrace.
For example, with secondary_start_kernel() hacked to contain
atomic_inc(NULL), the resulting exception can be reported as being taken
from cpus_are_stuck_in_kernel():

This is confusing and hinders debugging, and will be problematic for
CONFIG_LIVEPATCH as these cases cannot be unwound reliably.
This is very similar to recent issues with out-of-line exception fixups,
which were removed in commits:
35d67794b8 ("arm64: lib: __arch_clear_user(): fold fixups into body")
4012e0e227 ("arm64: lib: __arch_copy_from_user(): fold fixups into body")
139f9ab73d ("arm64: lib: __arch_copy_to_user(): fold fixups into body")
When the trampolines were introduced in commit:
addfc38672 ("arm64: atomics: avoid out-of-line ll/sc atomics")
The rationale was to improve icache performance by grouping the LL/SC
atomics together. This has never been measured, and this theoretical
benefit is outweighed by other factors:
* As the subsections are collapsed into sections at object file
granularity, these are spread out throughout the kernel and can share
cachelines with unrelated code regardless.
* GCC 12.1.0 has been observed to place the trampoline out-of-line in
specialised __ll_sc_*() functions, introducing more branching than was
intended.
* Removing the trampolines has been observed to shrink a defconfig
kernel Image by 64KiB when building with GCC 12.1.0.
This patch removes the LL/SC trampolines, meaning that the LL/SC atomics
will be inlined into their callers (or placed in out-of line functions
using regular BL/RET pairs). When CONFIG_ARM64_LSE_ATOMICS=y, the LL/SC
atomics are always called in an unlikely branch, and will be placed in a
cold portion of the function, so this should have minimal impact to the
hot paths.
Other than the improved backtracing, there should be no functional
change as a result of this patch.

A recent development on the EFI front has resulted in guests having
their page tables baked in the firmware binary, and mapped into the
IPA space as part of a read-only memslot. Not only is this legitimate,
but it also results in added security, so thumbs up.
It is possible to take an S1PTW translation fault if the S1 PTs are
unmapped at stage-2. However, KVM unconditionally treats S1PTW as a
write to correctly handle hardware AF/DB updates to the S1 PTs.
Furthermore, KVM injects an exception into the guest for S1PTW writes.
In the aforementioned case this results in the guest taking an abort
it won't recover from, as the S1 PTs mapping the vectors suffer from
the same problem.
So clearly our handling is... wrong.
Instead, switch to a two-pronged approach:
- On S1PTW translation fault, handle the fault as a read
- On S1PTW permission fault, handle the fault as a write
This is of no consequence to SW that *writes* to its PTs (the write
will trigger a non-S1PTW fault), and SW that uses RO PTs will not
use HW-assisted AF/DB anyway, as that'd be wrong.
Only in the case described in c4ad98e4b7 ("KVM: arm64: Assume write
fault on S1PTW permission fault on instruction fetch") do we end-up
with two back-to-back faults (page being evicted and faulted back).
I don't think this is a case worth optimising for.

The pin configuration (done with generic pin controller helpers and
as expressed by bindings) requires children nodes with either:
1. "pins" property and the actual configuration,
2. another set of nodes with above point.
The qup_spi2_default pin configuration uses alreaady the second method
with a "pinmux" child, so configure drive-strength similarly in
"pinconf". Otherwise the PIN drive strength would not be applied.

When adding support for the DisplayPort part of the QMP PHY the binding
(and devicetree parser) for the (USB) child node was simply reused and
this has lead to some confusion.
The third DP register region is really the DP_PHY region, not "PCS" as
the binding claims, and lie at offset 0x2a00 (not 0x2c00).
Similarly, there likely are no "RX", "RX2" or "PCS_MISC" regions as
there are for the USB part of the PHY (and in any case the Linux driver
does not use them).
Note that the sixth "PCS_MISC" region is not even in the binding.

We use is_ttbr0_addr() in noinstr code, but as it's only marked as
inline, it's theoretically possible for the compiler to place it
out-of-line and instrument it, which would be problematic.
Mark is_ttbr0_addr() as __always_inline such that that can safely be
used from noinstr code. For consistency, do the same to is_ttbr1_addr().
Note that while is_ttbr1_addr() calls arch_kasan_reset_tag(), this is a
macro (and its callees are either macros or __always_inline), so there
is not a risk of transient instrumentation.

The actual clock feeding into the Mali GPU on the MT8183 is from the
clock gate in the MFGCFG block, not CLK_TOP_MFGPLL_CK from the TOPCKGEN
block, which itself is simply a pass-through placeholder for the MFGPLL
in the APMIXEDSYS block.
Fix the hardware description with the correct clock reference.

Alexander noted that KFENCE only expects to handle faults from invalid page
table entries (i.e. translation faults), but arm64's fault handling logic will
call kfence_handle_page_fault() for other types of faults, including alignment
faults caused by unaligned atomics. This has the unfortunate property of
causing those other faults to be reported as "KFENCE: use-after-free",
which is misleading and hinders debugging.
Fix this by only forwarding unhandled translation faults to the KFENCE
code, similar to what x86 does already.
Alexander has verified that this passes all the tests in the KFENCE test
suite and avoids bogus reports on misaligned atomics.

In the initial release of the ARM Architecture Reference Manual for
ARMv8-A, the ESR_ELx registers were defined as 32-bit registers. This
changed in 2018 with version D.a (ARM DDI 0487D.a) of the architecture,
when they became 64-bit registers, with bits [63:32] defined as RES0. In
version G.a, a new field was added to ESR_ELx, ISS2, which covers bits
[36:32]. This field is used when the Armv8.7 extension FEAT_LS64 is
implemented.
As a result of the evolution of the register width, Linux stores it as
both a 64-bit value and a 32-bit value, which hasn't affected correctness
so far as Linux only uses the lower 32 bits of the register.
Make the register type consistent and always treat it as 64-bit wide. The
register is redefined as an "unsigned long", which is an unsigned
double-word (64-bit quantity) for the LP64 machine (aapcs64 [1], Table 1,
page 14). The type was chosen because "unsigned int" is the most frequent
type for ESR_ELx and because FAR_ELx, which is used together with ESR_ELx
in exception handling, is also declared as "unsigned long". The 64-bit type
also makes adding support for architectural features that use fields above
bit 31 easier in the future.
The KVM hypervisor will receive a similar update in a subsequent patch.

MSM8916 was originally using the "qcom,q6v5-pil" compatible for the
MSS remoteproc. Later it was decided to use SoC-specific compatibles
instead, so "qcom,msm8916-mss-pil" is now the preferred compatible.
Commit 60a05ed059 ("arm64: dts: qcom: msm8916: Add MSM8916-specific
compatibles to SCM/MSS") updated the MSM8916 device tree to make use of
the new compatible but still kept the old "qcom,q6v5-pil" as fallback.
This is inconsistent with other SoCs and conflicts with the description
in the binding documentation (which says that only one compatible should
be present). Also, it has no functional advantage since older kernels
could not handle this DT anyway (e.g. "power-domains" in the MSS node is
only supported by kernels that also support "qcom,msm8916-mss-pil").
Make this consistent with other SoCs by using only the
"qcom,msm8916-mss-pil" compatible.

Adjust MSM8996 cpufreq tables according to tables in msm-3.18. Some of
the frequencies are not supported on speed bins other than 0. Also other
speed bins support intermediate topmost frequencies, not supported on
speed bin 0. Implement all these differencies.

Qualcomm MSM8996 Pro is a variant of MSM8996 with higher frequencies
supported both on CPU and GPU. There are other minor hardware
differencies in the CPU and GPU regulators and bus fabrics.
However this results in significant differences between 8996 and 8996
Pro CPU OPP tables. Judging from msm-3.18 there are only few common
frequencies supported by both msm8996 and msm8996pro. Rather than
hacking the tables for msm8996, split msm8996pro support into a separate
file. Later this would allow having additional customizations for the
CBF, CPR, retulators, etc.

Prior to commit 69e3b846d8 ("arm64: mte: Sync tags for pages where PTE
is untagged"), mte_sync_tags() was only called for pte_tagged() entries
(those mapped with PROT_MTE). Therefore mte_sync_tags() could safely use
test_and_set_bit(PG_mte_tagged, &page->flags) without inadvertently
setting PG_mte_tagged on an untagged page.
The above commit was required as guests may enable MTE without any
control at the stage 2 mapping, nor a PROT_MTE mapping in the VMM.
However, the side-effect was that any page with a PTE that looked like
swap (or migration) was getting PG_mte_tagged set automatically. A
subsequent page copy (e.g. migration) copied the tags to the destination
page even if the tags were owned by KASAN.
This issue was masked by the page_kasan_tag_reset() call introduced in
commit e5b8d92189 ("arm64: mte: reset the page tag in page->flags").
When this commit was reverted (20794545c1), KASAN started reporting
access faults because the overriding tags in a page did not match the
original page->flags (with CONFIG_KASAN_HW_TAGS=y):

CRC errors (code -84 EILSEQ) have been observed for some SanDisk
Ultra A1 cards when running at 50MHz.
Waveform analysis suggest that the level shifters that are used on the
RK3399-Q7 module for voltage translation between 3.0 and 3.3V don't
handle clock rates at or above 48MHz properly. Back off to 40MHz for
some safety margin.

The kernel has an awfully complicated boot sequence in order to cope
with the various EL2 configurations, including those that "enhanced"
the architecture. We go from EL2 to EL1, then back to EL2, staying
at EL2 if VHE capable and otherwise go back to EL1.
Here's a paracetamol tablet for you.
The cpu_resume path follows the same logic, because coming up with
two versions of a square wheel is hard.
However, things aren't this straightforward with pKVM, as the host
resume path is always proxied by the hypervisor, which means that
the kernel is always entered at EL1. Which contradicts what the
__boot_cpu_mode[] array contains (it obviously says EL2).
This thus triggers a HVC call from EL1 to EL2 in a vain attempt
to upgrade from EL1 to EL2 VHE, which we are, funnily enough,
reluctant to grant to the host kernel. This is also completely
unexpected, and puzzles your average EL2 hacker.
Address it by fixing up the boot mode at the point the host gets
deprivileged. is_hyp_mode_available() and co already have a static
branch to deal with this, making it pretty safe.
This stable fix doesn't have an upstream version. The entire bootflow
has been reworked from 6.0 and that fixed the boot mode at the same
time, from commit 005e12676a ("arm64: head: record CPU boot mode after
enabling the MMU") to be precise. However, the latter is part of a 20
patches long series and can't be simply cherry-pick'ed.

Add the same change for ARM64 as done in the commit 9440c42941
("x86/syscall: Include asm/ptrace.h in syscall_wrapper header") to
make sure all syscalls see 'struct pt_regs' definition and resulted
BTF for '__arm64_sys_*(struct pt_regs *regs)' functions point to
actual struct.
Without this patch, the BPF verifier refuses to load a tracing prog
which accesses pt_regs.

With this patch, we can see the correct error, which saves us time
in debugging the prog.

CONFIG_UBSAN_SHIFT with gcc-5 complains that the shifting of
ARM_CPU_IMP_AMPERE (0xC0) into bits [31:24] by MIDR_CPU_MODEL() is
undefined behavior. Well, sort of, it actually spells the error as:

but doesn't specify any modes with "regulator-allowed-modes".
Prior to commit efb0cb50c4 ("regulator: qcom-rpmh: Implement
get_optimum_mode(), not set_load()") the above meant that we were able
to set either LPM or HPM mode. After that commit (and fixes [1]) we'll
be stuck at the initial mode. Discussion of this has resulted in the
decision that the old dts files were wrong and should be fixed to
fully restore old functionality.
Let's re-enable the old functionality by fixing the dts.

This board uses RPMH, specifies "regulator-allow-set-load" for LDOs,
but doesn't specify any modes with "regulator-allowed-modes".
Prior to commit efb0cb50c4 ("regulator: qcom-rpmh: Implement
get_optimum_mode(), not set_load()") the above meant that we were able
to set either LPM or HPM mode. After that commit (and fixes [1]) we'll
be stuck at the initial mode. Discussion of this has resulted in the
decision that the old dts files were wrong and should be fixed to
fully restore old functionality.
Let's re-enable the old functionality by fixing the dts.
NOTE: while here, let's also remove the nonsensical
"regulator-allow-set-load" on the fixed regulator "vreg_s4a_1p8".

Currently, when mapping the EFI runtime regions in the EFI page tables,
we complain about misaligned regions in a rather noisy way, using
WARN().
Not only does this produce a lot of irrelevant clutter in the log, it is
factually incorrect, as misaligned runtime regions are actually allowed
by the EFI spec as long as they don't require conflicting memory types
within the same 64k page.
So let's drop the warning, and tweak the code so that we
- take both the start and end of the region into account when checking
for misalignment
- only revert to RWX mappings for non-code regions if misaligned code
regions are also known to exist.

enter_exception64() performs an MTE check, which involves dereferencing
vcpu->kvm. While vcpu has already been fixed up to be a HYP VA pointer,
kvm is still a pointer in the kernel VA space.
This only affects nVHE configurations with MTE enabled, as in other
cases, the pointer is either valid (VHE) or not dereferenced (!MTE).
Fix this by first converting kvm to a HYP VA pointer.

When thermnal zones are defined, trip points definitions are mandatory.
Define a couple of critical trip points for monitoring of existing
PMIC and SOC thermal zones.
This was lost between txt to yaml conversion and was re-enforced recently

Let's just properly specify the MDC frequency in the DTS so that even

If FEAT_MTE2 is disabled via the arm64.nomte command line argument on a
CPU that claims to support FEAT_MTE2, the kernel will use Tagged Normal
in the MAIR. If we interpret arm64.nomte to mean that the CPU does not
in fact implement FEAT_MTE2, setting the system register like this may
lead to UNSPECIFIED behavior. Fix it by arranging for MAIR to be set
in the C function cpu_enable_mte which is called based on the sanitized
version of the system register.
There is no need for the rest of the MTE-related system register
initialization to happen from assembly, with the exception of TCR_EL1,
which must be set to include at least TBI1 because the secondary CPUs
access KASan-allocated data structures early. Therefore, make the TCR_EL1
initialization unconditional and move the rest of the initialization to
cpu_enable_mte so that we no longer have a dependency on the unsanitized
ID register value.

With some PCIe topologies, restoring a guest fails while
parsing the ITS device tables.
Reproducer hints:
1. Create ARM virt VM with pxb-pcie bus which adds
extra host bridges, with qemu command like:

2. Ensure the guest uses 2-level device table
3. Perform VM migration which calls save/restore device tables
In that setup, we get a big "offset" between 2 device_ids,
which makes unsigned "len" round up a big positive number,
causing the scan loop to continue with a bad GPA. For example:
1. L1 table has 2 entries;
2. and we are now scanning at L2 table entry index 2075 (pointed
to by L1 first entry)
3. if next device id is 9472, we will get a big offset: 7397;
4. with unsigned 'len', 'len -= offset * esz', len will underflow to a
positive number, mistakenly into next iteration with a bad GPA;
(It should break out of the current L2 table scanning, and jump
into the next L1 table entry)
5. that bad GPA fails the guest read.
Fix it by stopping the L2 table scan when the next device id is
outside of the current table, allowing the scan to continue from
the next L1 table entry.

Cortex-A57 and Cortex-A72 have an erratum where an interrupt that
occurs between a pair of AES instructions in aarch32 mode may corrupt
the ELR. The task will subsequently produce the wrong AES result.
The AES instructions are part of the cryptographic extensions, which are
optional. User-space software will detect the support for these
instructions from the hwcaps. If the platform doesn't support these
instructions a software implementation should be used.
Remove the hwcap bits on affected parts to indicate user-space should
not use the AES instructions.

Li Huafei reports that mcount-based ftrace with module PLTs was broken
by commit:
a625357997 ("arm64: ftrace: consistently handle PLTs.")
When a module PLTs are used and a module is loaded sufficiently far away
from the kernel, we'll create PLTs for any branches which are
out-of-range. These are separate from the special ftrace trampoline
PLTs, which the module PLT code doesn't directly manipulate.
When mcount is in use this is a problem, as each mcount callsite in a
module will be initialized to point to a module PLT, but since commit
a625357997 ftrace_make_nop() will assume that the callsite has
been initialized to point to the special ftrace trampoline PLT, and
ftrace_find_callable_addr() rejects other cases.
This means that when ftrace tries to initialize a callsite via
ftrace_make_nop(), the call to ftrace_find_callable_addr() will find
that the `_mcount` stub is out-of-range and is not handled by the ftrace
PLT, resulting in a splat:

Cortex-A55 is affected by an erratum where in rare circumstances the
CPUs may not handle a race between a break-before-make sequence on one
CPU, and another CPU accessing the same page. This could allow a store
to a page that has been unmapped.
Work around this by adding the affected CPUs to the list that needs
TLB sequences to be done twice.

arm64's method of defining a default cpu topology requires only minimal
changes to apply to RISC-V also. The current arm64 implementation exits
early in a uniprocessor configuration by reading MPIDR & claiming that
uniprocessor can rely on the default values.
This is appears to be a hangover from prior to '3102bc0e6ac7 ("arm64:
topology: Stop using MPIDR for topology information")', because the
current code just assigns default values for multiprocessor systems.
With the MPIDR references removed, store_cpu_topolgy() can be moved to
the common arch_topology code.

We've found the AUX channel to be less reliable with PCLK_EDP at a
higher rate (typically 25 MHz). This is especially important on systems
with PSR-enabled panels (like Gru-Kevin), since we make heavy, constant
use of AUX.
According to Rockchip, using any rate other than 24 MHz can cause
"problems between syncing the PHY an PCLK", which leads to all sorts of
unreliabilities around register operations.

The Gru-Bob board does not have a pull-up resistor on its
WLAN_HOST_WAKE# pin, but Kevin does. The production/vendor kernel
specified the pin configuration correctly as a pull-up, but this didn't
get ported correctly to upstream.
This means Bob's WLAN_HOST_WAKE# pin is floating, causing inconsistent
wakeup behavior.
Note that bt_host_wake_l has a similar dynamic, but apparently the
upstream choice was to redundantly configure both internal and external
pull-up on Kevin (see the "Kevin has an external pull up" comment in
rk3399-gru.dtsi). This doesn't cause any functional problem, although
it's perhaps wasteful.

cpufreq_get_hw_max_freq() returns max frequency in kHz as *unsigned int*,
while freq_inv_set_max_ratio() gets passed this frequency in Hz as 'u64'.
Multiplying max frequency by 1000 can potentially result in overflow --
multiplying by 1000ULL instead should avoid that...
Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with the SVACE static
analysis tool.

The AMU counter AMEVCNTR01 (constant counter) should increment at the same
rate as the system counter. On affected Cortex-A510 cores, AMEVCNTR01
increments incorrectly giving a significantly higher output value. This
results in inaccurate task scheduler utilization tracking and incorrect
feedback on CPU frequency.
Work around this problem by returning 0 when reading the affected counter
in key locations that results in disabling all users of this counter from
using it either for frequency invariance or as FFH reference counter. This
effect is the same to firmware disabling affected counters.
Details on how the two features are affected by this erratum:
- AMU counters will not be used for frequency invariance for affected
CPUs and CPUs in the same cpufreq policy. AMUs can still be used for
frequency invariance for unaffected CPUs in the system. Although
unlikely, if no alternative method can be found to support frequency
invariance for affected CPUs (cpufreq based or solution based on
platform counters) frequency invariance will be disabled. Please check
the chapter on frequency invariance at
Documentation/scheduler/sched-capacity.rst for details of its effect.
- Given that FFH can be used to fetch either the core or constant counter
values, restrictions are lifted regarding any of these counters
returning a valid (!0) value. Therefore FFH is considered supported
if there is a least one CPU that support AMUs, independent of any
counters being disabled or affected by this erratum. Clarifying
comments are now added to the cpc_ffh_supported(), cpu_read_constcnt()
and cpu_read_corecnt() functions.
The above is achieved through adding a new erratum: ARM64_ERRATUM_2457168.

GCC does not insert a `bti c` instruction at the beginning of a function
when it believes that all callers reach the function through a direct
branch[1]. Unfortunately the logic it uses to determine this is not
sufficiently robust, for example not taking account of functions being
placed in different sections which may be loaded separately, so we may
still see thunks being generated to these functions. If that happens,
the first instruction in the callee function will result in a Branch
Target Exception due to the missing landing pad.
While this has currently only been observed in the case of modules
having their main code loaded sufficiently far from their init section
to require thunks it could potentially happen for other cases so the
safest thing is to disable BTI for the kernel when building with an
affected toolchain.

Though acpi_find_last_cache_level() always returned signed value and the
document states it will return any errors caused by lack of a PPTT table,
it never returned negative values before.
Commit 0c80f9e165 ("ACPI: PPTT: Leave the table mapped for the runtime usage")
however changed it by returning -ENOENT if no PPTT was found. The value
returned from acpi_find_last_cache_level() is then assigned to unsigned
fw_level.
It will result in the number of cache leaves calculated incorrectly as
a huge value which will then cause the following warning from __alloc_pages
as the order would be great than MAX_ORDER because of incorrect and huge
cache leaves value.

Cortex-A510 is affected by an erratum where in rare circumstances the
CPUs may not handle a race between a break-before-make sequence on one
CPU, and another CPU accessing the same page. This could allow a store
to a page that has been unmapped.
Work around this by adding the affected CPUs to the list that needs
TLB sequences to be done twice.

Since commit 51f559d665 ("arm64: Enable repeat tlbi workaround on KRYO4XX
gold CPUs"), we failed to detect erratum 1286807 on Cortex-A76 because its
entry in arm64_repeat_tlbi_list[] was accidently corrupted by this commit.
Fix this issue by creating a separate entry for Kryo4xx Gold.

KVM does not support AArch32 EL0 on asymmetric systems. To that end,
prevent userspace from configuring a vCPU in such a state through
setting PSTATE.
It is already ABI that KVM rejects such a write on a system where
AArch32 EL0 is unsupported. Though the kernel's definition of a 32bit
system changed in commit 2122a83331 ("arm64: Allow mismatched
32-bit EL0 support"), KVM's did not.

Although harmless, the return statement in kvm_unexpected_el2_exception
is rather confusing as the function itself has a void return type. The
C standard is also pretty clear that "A return statement with an
expression shall not appear in a function whose return type is void".
Given that this return statement does not seem to add any actual value,
let's not pointlessly violate the standard.
Build-tested with GCC 10 and CLANG 13 for good measure, the disassembled
code is identical with or without the return statement.

Currently the DT for QCS404 SoC has setup for 2 USB2 PHYs with one each
assigned to USB3 controller and USB2 controller. This assignment is
incorrect which only works by luck: as when each USB HCI comes up it
configures the *other* controllers PHY which is enough to make them
happy. If, for any reason, we were to disable one of the controllers then
both would stop working.
This was a difficult inconsistency to be caught which was found while
trying to enable USB support in u-boot. So with all the required drivers
ported to u-boot, I couldn't get the same USB storage device enumerated
in u-boot which was being enumerated fine by the kernel.
The root cause of the problem came out to be that I wasn't enabling USB2
PHY: "usb2_phy_prim" in u-boot. Then I realised that via simply disabling
the same USB2 PHY currently assigned to USB2 host controller in the
kernel disabled enumeration for USB3 host controller as well.
So fix this inconsistency by correctly assigning USB2 PHYs.

The Tegra SYSRAM contains regions access to which is restricted to
certain hardware blocks on the system, and speculative accesses to
those will cause issues.
Patch 'misc: sram: Only map reserved areas in Tegra SYSRAM' attempted
to resolve this by only mapping the regions specified in the device
tree on the assumption that there are no such restricted areas within
the 64K-aligned area of memory that contains the memory we wish to map.
Turns out this assumption is wrong, as there are such areas above the
4K pages described in the device trees. As such, we need to use the
bigger hammer that is no-memory-wc, which causes the memory to be
mapped as Device memory to which speculative accesses are disallowed.
As such, the previous patch in the series,
'firmware: tegra: bpmp: do only aligned access to IPC memory area',
is required with this patch to make the BPMP driver only issue aligned
memory accesses as those are also required with Device memory.

The json-schema bindings for SRAM expect the nodes to be called "sram"
rather than "sysram" or "shmem". Furthermore, place the brackets around
the SYSRAM references such that a two-element array is created rather
than a two-element array nested in a single-element array. This is not
relevant for device tree itself, but allows the nodes to be properly
validated against json-schema bindings.

The bananapi R64 (BPI-R64) experiences wrong WPS button signals.
In OpenWrt pushing the WPS button while powering on the device will set
it to recovery mode. Currently, this also happens without any user
interaction. In particular, the wrong signals appear while booting the
device or restarting it, e.g. after doing a system upgrade. If the
device is in recovery mode the user needs to manually power cycle or
restart it.
The official BPI-R64 sources set the WPS button to GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW in
the device tree. This setting seems to suppress the unwanted WPS button
press signals. So this commit changes the button from GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH to
GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW.

According to qcom,sm6125-pinctrl.yaml all nodes inside the tlmm must be
suffixed by -state:

Both the sdc2-on and sdc2-off pinctrl nodes are used by the
sdhci@4784000 node in sm6125.dtsi. Surprisingly sdc2-off is defined in
sm6125, yet its sdc2-on counterpart is only defined in board-specific DT
for the Sony Seine PDX201 board/device resulting in an "undefined label
&sdc2_state_on" error if sm6125.dtsi were included elsewhere.
This sm6125 base dtsi should not rely on externally defined labels; the
properties referencing it should then also be written externally.
Since the sdc2-on pin configuration is board-independent just like
sdc2-off, move it from seine-pdx201.dts into sm6125.dtsi.
The SDCard-detect pin (gpio98) is however board-specific, and remains as
an overwrite in seine-pdx201.dts for both the on and off state.
As a drive-by cleanup, reorder bias- and drive-strength properties.

ICC path for the GPU incorrectly states <&gnoc 1 &bimc 5>, which is
a path from SLAVE_GNOC_BIMC to SLAVE_EBI. According to the downstream
kernel sources, the GPU uses MASTER_OXILI here, which is equivalent to
<&bimc 1 ...>.
While we are at it, use defined names instead of the numbers for this
interconnect path.

The SoC's device tree file disables gpucc and adreno's SMMU by default.
So let's disable the GPU too. Moreover it looks like SMMU might be not
usable without additional patches (which means that GPU is unusable
too). No board uses GPU at this moment.

We don't use this carveout on trogdor boards, and having it defined in
the sc7180 SoC file causes an overlap message to be printed at boot.

Commit b20d1ba3cf ("arm64: cpufeature: allow for version discrepancy in
PMU implementations") made it possible to run Linux on a machine with PMUs
with different versions without tainting the kernel. The patch relaxed the
restriction only for the ID_AA64DFR0_EL1.PMUVer field, and missed doing the
same for ID_DFR0_EL1.PerfMon , which also reports the PMU version, but for
the AArch32 state.
For example, with Linux running on two clusters with different PMU
versions, the kernel is tainted when bringing up secondaries with the

The boot CPU implements FEAT_PMUv3p1 (ID_DFR0_EL1.PerfMon, bits 27:24, is
0b0100), but CPU4, part of the other cluster, implements FEAT_PMUv3p4
(ID_DFR0_EL1.PerfMon = 0b0101).
Treat the PerfMon field as FTR_NONSTRICT and FTR_EXACT to pass the sanity
check and to match how PMUVer is treated for the 64bit ID register.

Due to an oversight, on arm64 lockdep IRQ state tracking doesn't work as
intended in NMI context. This demonstrably results in bogus warnings
from lockdep, and in theory could mask a variety of issues.
On arm64, we've consistently tracked IRQ flag state for NMIs (and
saved/restored the state of the interrupted context) since commit:
f0cd5ac1e4 ("arm64: entry: fix NMI {user, kernel}->kernel transitions")
That commit fixed most lockdep issues with NMI by virtue of the
save/restore of the lockdep state of the interrupted context. However,
for lockdep IRQ state tracking to consistently take effect in NMI
context it has been necessary to select TRACE_IRQFLAGS_NMI_SUPPORT since
commit:
ed00495333 ("locking/lockdep: Fix TRACE_IRQFLAGS vs. NMIs")
As arm64 does not select TRACE_IRQFLAGS_NMI_SUPPORT, this means that the
lockdep state can be stale in NMI context, and some uses of that state
can consume stale data.
When an NMI is taken arm64 entry code will call arm64_enter_nmi(). This
will enter NMI context via __nmi_enter() before calling
lockdep_hardirqs_off() to inform lockdep that IRQs have been masked.
Where TRACE_IRQFLAGS_NMI_SUPPORT is not selected, lockdep_hardirqs_off()
will not update lockdep state if called in NMI context. Thus if IRQs
were enabled in the original context, lockdep will continue to believe
that IRQs are enabled despite the call to lockdep_hardirqs_off().
However, the lockdep_assert_*() checks do take effect in NMI context,
and will consume the stale lockdep state. If an NMI is taken from a
context which had IRQs enabled, and during the handling of the NMI
something calls lockdep_assert_irqs_disabled(), this will result in a
spurious warning based upon the stale lockdep state.
This can be seen when using perf with GICv3 pseudo-NMIs. Within the perf
NMI handler we may attempt a uaccess to record the userspace callchain,
and is this faults the el1_abort() call in the nested context will call
exit_to_kernel_mode() when returning, which has a
lockdep_assert_irqs_disabled() assertion:

Note that as lockdep_assert_irqs_disabled() uses WARN_ON_ONCE(), and
this uses a BRK, the warning is logged with the real PSTATE at the time
of the warning, which clearly has DAIF.I set, meaning IRQs (and
pseudo-NMIs) were definitely masked and the warning is spurious.
Fix this by selecting TRACE_IRQFLAGS_NMI_SUPPORT such that the existing
entry tracking takes effect, as we had originally intended when the
arm64 entry code was fixed for transitions to/from NMI.
Arguably the lockdep_assert_*() functions should have the same NMI
checks as the rest of the code to prevent spurious warnings when
TRACE_IRQFLAGS_NMI_SUPPORT is not selected, but the real fix for any
architecture is to explicitly handle the transitions to/from NMI in the
entry code.

The entry-method property of the idle-states node should be "psci" as
described in the idle-states binding, since this is already the value of
enable-method in the CPU nodes. Fix it to get rid of a dtbs_check
warning.

Tweak the name of the idle-states subnodes so that they follow the
binding pattern, getting rid of dtbs_check warnings.
Only the usage of "-" in the name was necessary, but "off" was also
exchanged for "sleep" since that seems to be a more common wording in
other dts files.

Currently there are two nodes named "regulator_camera". This causes the
former to be overwritten by the latter.
Fix this by renaming them to unique names, using the preferred hyphen
instead of an underscore.
While at it, update the name of the audio regulator (which was added in
the same commit) to use a hyphen.

Pages mapped in user-space with PROT_MTE have the allocation tags either
zeroed or copied/restored to some user values. In order for the kernel
to access such pages via page_address(), resetting the tag in
page->flags was necessary. This tag resetting was deferred to
set_pte_at() -> mte_sync_page_tags() but it can race with another CPU
reading the flags (via page_to_virt()):

To fix this issue, keep the table->data as &insn->current_mode and
use container_of() to retrieve the insn pointer. Another mutex is
used to protect against the current_mode update but not for retrieving
insn_emulation as table->data is no longer changing.

large refactoring of the arm64 boot flow. This simple fix is therefore
preferred for -stable backporting ]
On a system that implements FEAT_EPAN, read/write access to the idmap
is denied because UXN is not set on the swapper PTEs. As a result,
idmap_kpti_install_ng_mappings panics the kernel when accessing
__idmap_kpti_flag. Fix it by setting UXN on these PTEs.

The root cause of the bug sits in neon_poly1305_blocks. The logic
neon_poly1305_blocks() performed is that if it was called with both s[]
and r[] uninitialized, it will first try to initialize them with the
data from the first "block" that it believed to be 32 bytes in length.
First 16 bytes are used as the key and the next 16 bytes for s[]. This
would lead to the aforementioned read out-of-bound. However, after
calling poly1305_init_arch(), only 16 bytes were deducted from the input
and s[] is initialized yet again with the following 16 bytes. The second
initialization of s[] is certainly redundent which indicates that the
first initialization should be for r[] only.
This patch fixes the issue by calling poly1305_init_arm64() instead of
poly1305_init_arch(). This is also the implementation for the same
algorithm on arm platform.

Add spin-table enable-method and cpu-release-addr properties for
cpu0 node. This is required by all ARMv8 SoC. Otherwise some
bootloader like u-boot can not update cpu-release-addr and linux
fails to start up secondary cpus.

"make dtbs_check" complains about the missing "-supply" suffix for
vdd_lvs1_2 which is clearly a typo, originally introduced in the
msm8994-smd-rpm.dtsi file and apparently later copied to
msm8992-xiaomi-libra.dts:
msm8992-lg-bullhead-rev-10/101.dtb: pm8994-regulators: 'vdd_lvs1_2'
does not match any of the regexes:
'.*-supply$', '^((s|l|lvs|5vs)[0-9]*)|(boost-bypass)|(bob)$', 'pinctrl-[0-9]+'
From schema: regulator/qcom,smd-rpm-regulator.yaml
