Avoid gcc warning when -Wunused-but-set-variable is enabled.
The readl return value need not to be assigned to any variable
as the reading itself is just a part of a sequence required

Commit d19f405a5a ("[media] s5p-mfc: Fix
selective sclk_mfc init") added support for special clock handling
(named "sclk-mfc"). However this clock is not defined yet on any
platform, so before adding it to all Exynos platform, better rename it
to "sclk_mfc" to match the scheme used for all other special clocks on
Exynos platform.

The sensor may be powered by either one of its sub-devices being accessed
from the user space (an open file handle) or by its s_power() op being
called with non-zero on argument. The driver counts the users and if any
reason to keep the device powered exists it will be powered.
However, a faulty condition was used in recognising the need to power off
the sensor, leading it to be powered off every time any of its uses went
away.

This adds radio receiver and transmitter support. Part of that is common
to both and so is placed in the radio-common source.
These drivers also support RDS. In order to generate valid RDS data a
simple RDS generator is implemented in rds-gen.

Add the kthread handlers for video/vbi capture and video/vbi output.
These carefully control the rate at which frames are generated (video
capture) and accepted (video output). While the short-term jitter is
around the order of a jiffie, in the long term the rate matches the
configured framerate exactly.
The capture thread handler also takes care of the video looping and
of capture and overlay support. This is probably the most complex part
of this driver due to the many combinations of crop, compose and scaling
on the input and output, and the blending that has to be done if
overlay support is enabled as well.

If this is a multiplanar buf_type and the plane we want to read has a
non-zero data_offset, then that data_offset was not taken into account.
Note that read() or write() for formats with more than one plane is currently
not allowed, hence the use of 'planes[0]' since this is only relevant for a
single-plane format.

Maximum satellite symbol rate used is 45000000Sps which overflows
when multiplied by 135. As final calculation result is fraction,
we could use mult_frac macro in order to keep calculation inside
32 bit number limits and prevent overflow.
Original bug and fix was provided by Nibble Max. I decided to
implement it differently as it is now.

Driver for the CIMaX SP2 common interface chip. It is very much based on
the existing cimax2 driver for cx23885, but should be more reusable. The
product has been sold with name Atmel T90FJR as well and the data sheets
for that chip seem to be publicly available.
It seems that the USB device that I have and the cx23885 based devices will
need to interact differently with the chip for the CAM operations. Thus
there is one callback function that is passed on to the sp2 driver
(see function sp2_ci_op_cam for that one).
IRQ functionality is not included currently (not needed by USB devices
and I don't have a PCIe device for development).

Luis Alves submitted a TS mode patch to si2168 earlier, but the
patch was rejected due to a small issue. Here is a working version.
Also, setting of TS mode is moved from si2168_set_frontend to
si2168_init.
This patch adds the TS mode as a config option for the si2168 demod:
- ts_mode added to config struct.
- Possible (interesting) values are
* Parallel mode = 0x06
* Serial mode = 0x03
Currently the modules using this demod only use parallel mode.
Patches for these modules later in this patch series.

Normally, ADAP_STREAMING bit is set in dvb_usb_start_feed and cleared in
dvb_usb_stop_feed.
But in exceptional cases, for example, when the tv is playing programs
and the tuner is pulled out, then dvb_usbv2_disconnect is called.
In such case, it will first call dvb_usbv2_adapter_frontend_exit to stop
dvb_frontend_thread, and then call dvb_usbv2_adapter_dvb_exit to clear
ADAP_STREAMING bit.
At this point, if dvb_frontend_thread is sleeping and waiting for
ADAP_STREAMING to be cleared to get out of sleep. then
dvb_frontend_thread can never be stoped, because clearing ADAP_STREAMING
bit is performed after dvb_frontend_thread is stopped (i.e. performed in
dvb_usbv2_adapter_dvb_exit).

There are several arch-specific media drivers that don't
require asm-specific includes and can be successfully
compiled on x86. Add COMPILE_TEST dependency for them, in
order to allow a broader test on those drivers.
That helps static analysis tools like Coverity to discover
eventual troubles there.

By allowing compilation on all archs, we can use static
analysis tools to test this driver.

When CONFIG_VIDEO_OMAP2_VOUT_VRFB is disabled, the compilation

The needed bandwidth can be estimated using the symbol rate and
the rolloff factor. This could be useful for the frontend drivers,
as they don't need to calculate it themselves.

The fpc_table_addr is used as an unsigned integer that stores
an address. At the Kernel, the proper type for such integers
is unsigned long.
This generates lots of warnings when compiling on 64 bits.

au0828 doesn't resume correctly and TV tuning fails with
xc_set_signal_source(0) failed message. Change au0828 dvb
suspend and resume interfaces to suspend and resume frontend
during suspend and resume respectively. dvb_frontend_suspend()
suspends tuner and fe using tuner and fe ops. dvb_frontend_resume()
resumes fe and tuner using fe and tuner ops ini before waking up
the frontend. With this change HVR950Q suspend and resume work
when system gets suspended when digital function is tuned to a
channel and with active TV stream, and after resume it went right
back to active TV stream.

When a new video frame is started, the driver takes the next video buffer from
the list of active buffers and moves it to dev->usb_ctl.vid_buf / dev->usb_ctl.vbi_buf
for further processing.
On streaming stop we currently only give back the pending buffers from the list
but not the ones which are currently processed.
This causes the following warning from the vb2 core since kernel 3.15:

Modern kernels enable dynamic printk support, which is fine, except when it is
combined with a debug module option. Enabling debug in videobuf2-core now produces
no debugging unless it is also enabled through the dynamic printk support in debugfs.
Either use a debug module option + pr_info, or use pr_debug without a debug module
option. In this case the fact that you can set various debug levels is very useful,
so I believe that for videobuf2-core.c we should use pr_info.
The mix of the two is very confusing: I've spent too much time already trying to
figure out why I am not seeing any debug output in the kernel log when I do:

The reason is that vb2_fop_mmap and vb2_fop_get_unmapped_area take the core lock
while they are called with the mmap_sem semaphore held. But elsewhere in the code
the core lock is taken first but calls to copy_to/from_user() can take the mmap_sem
semaphore as well, potentially causing a classical A-B/B-A deadlock.
However, the mmap/get_unmapped_area calls really shouldn't take the core lock
at all. So what would happen if they don't take the core lock anymore?
There are two situations that need to be taken into account: calling mmap while
new buffers are being added and calling mmap while buffers are being deleted.
The first case works almost fine without a lock: in all cases mmap relies on
correctly filled-in q->num_buffers/q->num_planes values and those are only
updated by reqbufs and create_buffers *after* any new buffers have been
initialized completely. Except in one case: if an error occurred while allocating
the buffers it will increase num_buffers and rely on __vb2_queue_free to
decrease it again. So there is a short period where the buffer information
may be wrong.
The second case definitely does pose a problem: buffers may be in the process
of being deleted, without the internal structure being updated.
In order to fix this a new mutex is added to vb2_queue that is taken when
buffers are allocated or deleted, and in vb2_mmap. That way vb2_mmap won't
get stale buffer data. Note that this is a problem only for MEMORY_MMAP, so
even though __qbuf_userptr and __qbuf_dmabuf also mess around with buffers
(mem_priv in particular), this doesn't clash with vb2_mmap or
vb2_get_unmapped_area since those are MMAP specific.
As an additional bonus the hack in __buf_prepare, the USERPTR case, can be
removed as well since mmap() no longer takes the core lock.
All in all a much cleaner solution.

Since we neither support composing on the OUTPUT side, nor cropping
on the CAPTURE side, disable VIDIOC_CROPCAP and VIDIOC_G/S_CROP
altogether. This silences a GStreamer warning when GStreamer tries
to obtain the pixel aspect ratio using VIDIOC_CROPCAP.

Lock modification of the timestamp list with bitstream_mutex and do not
try to remove a timestamp element if the list is empty. This can happen

This patch increases the maximum vertical frame size reported
by enum_fmt and accepted by try_fmt/s_fmt from 1080 to 1088.
Since for 16x16-pixel macroblocks 1080p will be rounded up to
this anyway, we may as well admit that we support it.

Userspace has a hard time making sense of format enumerations on V4L2
mem2mem devices if there are restrictions on which input and output
formats can be used together. Alleviate the problem by splitting the
video4linux device into separate encoder and decoder devices which list
only raw formats on one side and only encoded formats on the other side.
With this patch, the instance type (encoder or decoder) is already
determined by the open file operation.

If no firmware was found and the coda module is unloaded, coda_runtime_resume

When updating the crop rectangle during streaming, the IRQ handler will
reprogram the resizer after the current frame. A race condition
currently exists between the set selection operation and the IRQ
handler: if the set selection operation is called twice in a row and the
IRQ handler runs only during the second call, it could reprogram the
hardware with partially updated values. Use a spinlock to protect
against that.

The resizer_set_input_size() function prints a debugging message with
the input width and height values. As the function is called from
interrupt context, printing that message to the serial console could
slow down the interrupt handler and cause it to miss the start of the
next frame, causing image corruption.
Fix this by reorganizing the resizer debug messages. The driver now
prints the input size, the crop rectangle and the output size in the set
selection handler instead of scattering debug messages in various
places.

As the CCDC doesn't generate interrupts when stopped in BT.656 mode,
restart it immediately when the next buffer after an underrun is queued
instead of relying on the interrupt handler to restart the CCDC.

When the CCDC is already stopped due to a buffer underrun, the stop
state machine won't advance in BT.656 mode as no interrupt are generated
by the stopped CCDC in that mode. Handle this case explicitly in the
ccdc_disable() function.

In BT.656 mode the synchronization signals are generated by the CCDC
from the embedded sync codes. The VD0 and VD1 interrupts are thus only
triggered when the CCDC is enabled, unlike external sync mode where the
line counter runs even when the CCDC is stopped. We can't disable the
CCDC at VD1 time, as no VD0 interrupt would be generated for a short
frame, which would result in the CCDC being stopped and no VD interrupt
generated anymore. The CCDC is stopped from the VD0 interrupt handler
instead for BT.656.

Checking that the captured field corresponds to the last required field
depending on the requested field order before completing the buffer
isn't enough. When the first field at stream start corresponds to the
last required field, this would result in returning an interlaced buffer
containing a single field.
Fix this by keeping track of the fields captured in the buffer, and make
sure that both fields are present for alternate field orders.

The video port doesn't support YUV formats. Disable it when the CCDC
sink pad format is set to YUV instead of leaving it enabled and relying
on downstream modules not to process data they receive from the video
port.
Experiments showed that this fixes some of the CCDC failures to stop,
especially in BT.656 mode.

The field order must match between the source and sink pads, or the sink
pad field order must be NONE. This allows connecting an interlaced

Now that xc5000_set_params() is also called during resume,
move the code that checks for the firmware to happen there.
This way, the firmware will be loaded either for analog or
digital TV when .resume callback is called.

When DVB is streaming and suspend is called, it will call
au0828_stop_transport(), with will clean the streaming flag.
Due to that, stop_urb_transfer() will be called twice,
causing an oops.
So, we need another flag to be used at resume, telling it
to restart DVB.
While here, add a logic at stop_urb_transfer() to prevent
it of being called twice, and convert the usb_streaming
flag into boolean.

dev->dvb is always not null, as it is an area at the dev
memory. So, checking if (dev->dvb) is always true.
Instead of this stupid check, what the code wants to do is
to know if the DVB was successully registered.
Fix it by checking, instead, for dvb->frontend. It should
also be sure that this var will be NULL if the device was
not properly initialized.

handles only digital TV. Rename it to xc5000_set_digital_params(),

As we need a function that reapply the last tuned radio,
in order to do resume, split the code that validates and
updates the internal priv struct from the ones that
actually set radio and TV.

After xc5000 stops working, it waits for 5 seconds, waiting
for a new usage. Only after that it goes to low power mode.
If a suspend event happens before that, a work queue will
remain active, with causes suspend to crash.

While several tuners have some sort of suspend/resume
implementation, this is currently mangled with an optional
.sleep callback that it is also used to put the device on
low power mode.
Not all drivers implement it, as returning the driver from
low power may require to re-load the firmware, with takes
some time. Also, some drivers may delay it.
So, the more coherent is to add two new optional callbacks
that will let the tuners to directy implement suspend and
resume callbacks if they need.

Trying to make au0828 to suspend can do very bad things, as
the polling Kthread is not handled. We should disable it
during suspend, only re-enabling it at resume.
Still, analog and digital TV won't work, as we don't reinit
the settings at resume, but at least it won't hang.

When the DVB code sets the frontend, it disables the IR
INT, probably due to some hardware bug, as there's no code
there at au8522 frontend that writes on register 0xe0.
Fixing it at au8522 code is hard, as it doesn't know if the
IR is enabled or disabled, and just restoring the value of
register 0xe0 could cause other nasty effects. So, better
to add a hack at au0828-input polling interval to enable int,
if disabled.

Here's the big driver-core pull request for 3.17-rc1.
Largest thing in here is the dma-buf rework and fence code, that touched
many different subsystems so it was agreed it should go through this
tree to handle merge issues. There's also some firmware loading
updates, as well as tests added, and a few other tiny changes, the
changelog has the details.
All have been in linux-next for a long time.

The patch "[media] coda: add reset control support" introduced a build failure
if CONFIG_RESET_CONTROLLER is disabled:

Add initial support for OF based soc-camera devices that may be used
by any of the soc-camera drivers. The driver itself will need converting
to use OF.
These changes allow the soc-camera driver to do the connecting of any
async capable v4l2 device to the soc-camera driver. This has currently
been tested on the Renesas Lager board.
It currently only supports one input device per driver as this seems
to be the standard connection for these devices.

JPEG codec on Exynos3250 SoC produces broken raw image if a JPEG
image is decoded to YUV420 format and downscaled by a factor
greater than 2. Prevent this by asserting downscale ratio to 2.

The jpeg_bound_align_image function needs to know the context
in which it is called, as it needs to align image dimensions in
a slight different manner for Exynos3250, which crops pixels for
specific values in case the format is RGB.

This patch adds support for jpeg codec on Exynos3250 SoC to
the s5p-jpeg driver. Supported raw formats are: YUYV, YVYU, UYVY,
VYUY, RGB565, RGB565X, RGB32, NV12, NV21. The support includes
also scaling and cropping features.

firmware upload is done. So, print at the dmesg if something

Currently, firmware retry logic keeps reading from FS every
time during the retry logic. This is not needed. Instead,
only release the firmware read after success.
While here, make the non-debug messages less verbose, as it
only matters to the user if the firmware was successfully
loaded, or if some error happened.

With the current code, if something bad happens during the
firmware init process, the device will keep trying forever,
and removing it would cause an OOPS.
Instead, try only a limited amount of time. If not, fails.

The IR dprintk message that prints a RC5 decoding failure
is not much helpful, as it doesn't tell on what bit the
error occurred.
Add such information, in order to make the debug message
more useful.

On some hardware (au0828/au8522), the hardware is broken with
regards to the initial pulse detection. So, the driver needs to
produce a fake start pulse. That limits the acceptable protocols,
as it is not possible to produce a fake pulse that would cover
all supported protocols.
So, allow the driver to explicitly set the allowed protocols.
If the driver doesn't specify, keep the old behavior.

Commits 21dc61d3c0 and 7a1dd50b89 reduced the board I2C
speed to 20 MHz by default, due to a I2C stretch issue:
while xc5000 uses i2c stretch when a command is sent to it,
au0828 doesn't support this feature.
However, this is needed only for Xceive tuners. The other
I2C devices can work at the max speed.
So, revert the workarounds at board level, handling it at
I2C level, only when talking with xc5000.

That happens because the frontend was disabled by .config, but the
si2165_attach void stub require those structs, and also the
drivers that call it.

Commit 958c7c7e65 ("[media] v4l2-ctrls: fix corner case in round-to-range code") broke
controls that use a negative range.
The cause was a s32/u32 mixup: ctrl->step is unsigned while all others are signed. So
the result type of the expression '(ctrl)->maximum - ((ctrl)->step / 2)' became unsigned,
making 'val >= (ctrl)->maximum - ((ctrl)->step / 2)' true, since '((u32)-128) > 128'
(if val = -128, maximum = 128 and step = 1).
So carefully cast (step / 2) to s32.
There was one cast of step to s32 where it should have been u32 because both offset and
step are unsigned, so casting to signed makes no sense there. You do need a cast to u32
there, because otherwise architectures that have no 64-bit division start complaining
(step is a u64).

Some vendors have their on keymap table that are used on
all (or almost all) models for that vendor.
So, instead of specifying the keymap table per USB ID,
let's use the Vendor ID's table by default.
At the end, this will mean less code to be added when newer
devices for those vendors are added.
Of course, if rc_map is specified per board, it takes
precedence.

On some newer boards, like HVR-930C HD, the information at
the PCB tables are sometimes higher than the ones actually
available on the device. That causes the probing code to
go past the interfaces array.
Add checks to the interface number before going past the
array.

Tuner ID set into EEPROM is wrong, which causes driver to select
wrong tuner profile. That leads device non-working. Fix issue by
overriding known bad tuner IDs with suitable default value.

Under Xen, vmalloc_32() isn't guaranteed to return pages which are really
under 4G in machine physical addresses (only in virtual pseudo-physical
addresses). To work around this, implement a vmalloc variant which
allocates each page with dma_alloc_coherent() to guarantee that each
page is suitable for the device in question.

drx39xyj driver lacks resume support. Add support by changing
its fe ops init interface to detect the resume status by checking
fe exit flag and do the necessary initialization. With this change,
driver resume correctly in both dvb adapter is not in use and in use
by an application cases.

Some fe drivers will have to do additional initialization
in their fe ops.init interfaces when called during resume.
Without the additional initialization, fe and tuner driver
resume fails. A new fe exit flag value DVB_FE_DEVICE_RESUME
is necessary to detect resume case. This patch adds a new
define and changes dvb_frontend_resume() to set it prior to
calling fe init and tuner init calls and resets it back to
DVB_FE_NO_EXIT once fe and tuner init is done.

Change em28xx_dvb_fini() to set fe exit flag to DVB_FE_DEVICE_REMOVED
when device is disconnected. em28xx maintains device disconnect status
in em28xx device. fe drivers will be able to now check the fe exit
status to avoid accessing the device, from their release interfaces
when called from disconnect path. This change depends on dvb-core
change that exports fe exit flag by moving it from fepriv to fe.

Some fe drivers attempt to access the device for power control from
their release routines. When release routines are called after device
is disconnected, the attempts fail. fe drivers should avoid accessing
the device, from their release interfaces when called from disconnect
path. dvb-frontend maintains exit flag to keep track when fe device is
disconnected in its private data structures. Export the flag in fe to
enable drivers to check the device status from their release interfaces.

In em28xx usb disconnect code path, some dvb fe and tuner drivers
attempt i2c transfers from their release interfaces. When device
is removed, return -ENODEV instead of attempting to transfer data
over i2c.

em28xx uses resume interface as its reset_resume interface.
If usb device is reset during suspend, reset_resume doesn't
do the necessary initialization which leads to resume failure.
Many systems don't maintain do not maintain suspend current to
the USB host controllers during hibernation. Remove reset_resume
to allow disconnect to be called followed by device restore
sequence.

em28xx_dvb_resume() unregisters i2c tuner, i2c demod, and dvb.
This erroneous cleanup results in i2c tuner, i2c demod, and dvb
devices unregistered and removed during resume. This error is a
result of merge conflict between two patches that went into 3.15.

This tries to make them more like other remotes, and/or
the button labels.
Notably, the (>>) button is made KEY_FASTFORWARD, which is the
correct opposite of (<<)'s KEY_REVERSE. (It was KEY_FORWARD,
something else entirely.)
Likewise, KEY_STOP is the Sun keyboard "interrupt program" key;
the media key is KEY_STOPCD.
A restriction is that I try to avoid keycodes above 255, as the X11
client/server protocol is limited to 8-bit key codes. If not for
this, I would have used the KEY_NUMERIC_x codes for the numbers.

Rather than having special code cases for diagonal mouse
movements, extend the general purpose code used for the
cardinal directions to handle arbitrary (x,y) deltas.
The deltas themselves are stored in translation table's "code"
field; this is also progress toward the goal of eliminating
the "value" element entirely.

It's not necessary, and since both events happen "at the same time"
in response to a single input event, the input device framework prefers

An input report is 4 bytes long, but there are only 12 bits
of actual payload. The 4 bytes are:
data[0] = 0x14
data[1] = data[2] + data[3] + 0xd5 (a checksum byte)
data[2] = the raw scancode (plus toggle bit in msbit)
data[3] = channel << 4 (the low 4 bits must be zero)
Ignore reports with a bad checksum.

Once upon a time the radio-miropcm20 driver had RDS support. However, after
some internal kernel changes that support was removed. Now that we have a
nice RDS API I have been working on adding back this support. It has been
tested with the si4713 RDS transmitter and it is working quite nicely.

The radio-miropcm20 driver has firmware that decodes the RDS signals. So in that
case the RDS data becomes available in the form of controls.
Add support for these controls to the control framework, allowing the miro driver
to use them.

The si4713 supports several RDS features not yet implemented in the driver.
This patch adds the missing RDS functionality to the list of RDS controls.
The ALT_FREQS control is a compound control containing an array of up
to 25 (the maximum according to the RDS standard) frequencies. To support
that the V4L2_CTRL_TYPE_U32 was added.

vb2_poll should always return POLLOUT | POLLWRNORM as long as there
are fewer buffers queued than there are buffers available. Poll for
an output stream should only wait if all buffers are queued and nobody
is dequeuing them.

Rather than always having to use a v4l2_ext_control struct to set
a control value from within a driver, switch to just setting the
new value. This is faster and it makes it possible to set more
complex types such as a string control as is added by this
patch.

Now that the protocol is part of the scancode, it is pretty easy to merge
the rc5 and streamzap decoders. An additional advantage is that the decoder
is now stricter as it waits for the trailing silence before determining that
a command is a valid rc5/streamzap command (which avoids collisions that I've
seen with e.g. Sony protocols).

The basic API of rc-core used to be:

which is a pretty common pattern in the kernel, after the introduction of
protocol arrays the API looks something like:

dev->x = a;
rc_set_allowed_protocols(dev, RC_BIT_X);
dev->z = c;
rc_register_device();
There's no real need for the protocols to be an array, so change it
back to be consistent (and in preparation for the following patches).

This driver codes the two address bytes in reverse order when compared to the
other drivers, so make it consistent (and update the keymap, note that the
result is a prefix change from 0x6b86 -> 0x866b, and the latter is pretty
common among the NECX keymaps. While not conclusive, it's still a strong hint
that the change is correct).

Right now the protocol information is not preserved, rc-core gets handed a
scancode but has no idea which protocol it corresponds to.
This patch (which required reading through the source/keymap for all drivers,
not fun) makes the protocol information explicit which is important
documentation and makes it easier to e.g. support multiple protocols with one
decoder (think rc5 and rc-streamzap). The information isn't used yet so there
should be no functional changes.

This patch changes the code to match my assumption (the generated scancode

really suited for rc-core and the ir_raw/ir_key distinction is
just confusing.

The bt8xx driver does RC5 decoding for Nebula digi hardware, but includes
some pointless limitations (both start bits must be one, the
device/address/system must be 0x00). Remove those limitations and update
the keymap to use the full RC5 scancode (fortunately the 0x00 address
means that this is perfectly backwards compatible).

The programmed frequency on xc4000 is not the middle
frequency, but the initial frequency on the bandwidth range.
However, the DVB API works with the middle frequency.
This works fine on set_frontend, as the device calculates
the needed offset. However, at get_frequency(), the returned
value is the initial frequency. That's generally not a big
problem on most drivers, however, starting with changeset
6fe1099c7a, the frequency drift is taken into account at
dib7000p driver.
This broke support for PCTV 340e, with uses dib7000p demod and
xc4000 tuner.

This patch removes the null test on ch. ch is initialized at the
beginning of the function to &demod->dtv_property_cache. Since demod
is dereferenced prior to the null test, demod must be a valid pointer,
and &demod->dtv_property_cache cannot be null.

The driver was reporting an incorrect mode, when mode 2
is selected.
While testing it, noticed that neither mode 1 or guard
interval 1/32 is supported by this device. Document it,
and ensure that it will report _AUTO when it doesn't lock,
in order to not report a wrong detection to userspace.

This removes checks of struct member addresses since they likely result

This updated patch also fixes out of bound access to b[].
In dib9000_risc_apb_access_write() an out of bound access to mb[].
The current test to avoid out of bound access to mb[] is insufficient.
For len = 19 non-existent mb[10] will be accessed.
For odd values of len b[] is accessed out of bounds.
For large values of len an of bound access to mb[] may occur in
dib9000_mbx_send_attr.

replaced with a standard API there is no reason anymore to keep it
in staging. So (finally!) move it to drivers/media/usb.

This patch exports all auxiliary buffers, including SRAM, as debugfs binary
blobs for debugging purposes. It shows, for example, that psbuf currently
doesn't seem to be used at all on CODA7541, and that slicebuf and workbuf
usage is far from the maximum. It can also be used to validate SRAM size
allocation.

When encoding into h.264, the input frame stride needs to be a multiple of 16.
During allocation of the input buffers, it may not be known yet whether the
encoder should create h.264 or not. Assume the worst and always use a frame
stride that is a multiple of 16.

Even though the CODA h.264 decoder always decodes complete macroblocks, we can
set the stride to the corresponding multiple of 16 and use a value smaller than
that as real width. Unfortunately the same doesn't work for height, as there
is no vertical linesperframe stride for discontiguous planar YUV frames.

On i.MX53 and i.MX6, the CODA VPU can be reset by the System Reset Controller.
We can use this to get out of dire situations, for example after a picture
run timeout.

Rename the per-context prescan_failed variable to hold, as this is what the
flag does: it temporarily keeps the coda from running until new data is fed
into the bitstream buffer or stop_streaming is called on the input side.
A prescan failure on i.MX5 is one possible reason to enter this state, another
one is a picture run timeout on i.MX6.

The coda h.264 decoder also counts PIC_RUNs where no frame was decoded but
a frame was rotated out / marked as ready to be displayed. This causes an
offset between the incoming encoded frame's sequence number and the decode
sequence number returned by the coda. This patch introduces a sequence
counter offset variable to keep track of the difference.

The coda driver advertises timestamp_type V4L2_BUF_FLAG_TIMESTAMP_COPY on
both queues, so we have to copy timestamps from input v4l2 buffers to the
corresponding destination v4l2 buffers. Since the h.264 decoder can reorder
frames, a timestamp queue is needed to keep track of and assign the correct
timestamp to destination buffers.

If the bitrate control is set, the encoder works in CBR mode, dynamically
changing the quantization parameters to achieve a constant bitrate.
With the min/max QP controls the quantization parameters can be limited
to a given range.

Using the coda_mutex lock to serialize hardware access would cause
"INFO: possible circular locking dependency detected" lockdep warnings.
Since the possible locking paths are hard to follow, serialize hardware
access with a single workqueue thread. Ultimately the workqueue could
be converted to only do register setup and readout for per-command work
items.
Using the initialized context property, SEQ_END is only queued in
coda_release when needed.

The h.264 decoder produces capture frames that are a multiple of the macroblock
size (16 pixels). To inform userspace about invalid pixel data at the edges,
use the active and padded composing rectangles on the capture queue.
The cropping information is obtained from the h.264 sequence parameter set.

This patch adds support for the CODA960 VPU in Freescale i.MX6 SoCs.
It enables h.264 and MPEG4 encoding and decoding support. Besides the usual
register shifting, the CODA960 gains frame memory control and GDI registers
that are set up for linear mapping right now, needs ENC_PIC_SRC_INDEX to be
set beyond the number of internal buffers for some reason, and has subsampling
buffers that need to be set up. Also, the work buffer size is increased to
80 KiB.
The CODA960 firmware spins if there is not enough input data in the bitstream
buffer. To make it continue, buffers need to be copied into the bitstream as
soon as they are queued. As the bitstream fifo is written into from two places,
it must be protected with a mutex. For that, using a threaded interrupt handler
is necessary.
