5f16eb0549 Char/Misc and other driver subsystem changes for 6.10-rc1
Here is the big set of char/misc and other driver subsystem updates for
 6.10-rc1.  Nothing major here, just lots of new drivers and updates for
 apis and new hardware types.  Included in here are:
   - big IIO driver updates with more devices and drivers added
   - fpga driver updates
   - hyper-v driver updates
   - uio_pruss driver removal, no one uses it, other drivers control the
     same hardware now
   - binder minor updates
   - mhi driver updates
   - excon driver updates
   - counter driver updates
   - accessability driver updates
   - coresight driver updates
   - other hwtracing driver updates
   - nvmem driver updates
   - slimbus driver updates
   - spmi driver updates
   - other smaller misc and char driver updates
 
 All of these have been in linux-next for a while with no reported
 issues.

91cfd679f9 ACPI/IORT: Handle memory address size limits as limits
Return the Root Complex/Named Component memory address size limit as an
inclusive limit value, rather than an exclusive size. This saves having
to fudge an off-by-one for the 64-bit case, and simplifies our caller.

power management for ACPI based systems. The driver would try to enable
the APB clock if available. But first this renames and then refactors

platform and AMBA drivers.

drivers. This also moves pm_runtime_put() from tpiu_probe() to the callers.
While here, this also sorts the included headers in alphabetic order.

10ff709a68 ACPI: AGDI: Convert to platform remove callback returning void
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart
from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks.

To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return
void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to
.remove_new(), which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers
are converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove().

Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove
callback to the void returning variant.

310293a2b9 ACPI: processor: reduce CPUFREQ thermal reduction pctg for Tegra241
Current implementation of processor_thermal performs software throttling
in fixed steps of "20%" which can be too coarse for some platforms.
We observed some performance gain after reducing the throttle percentage.
Change the CPUFREQ thermal reduction percentage and maximum thermal steps
to be configurable. Also, update the default values of both for Nvidia
Tegra241 (Grace) SoC. The thermal reduction percentage is reduced to "5%"
and accordingly the maximum number of thermal steps are increased as they
are derived from the reduction percentage.

ca5a75df36 amba: bus: balance firmware node reference counting
Currently the ACPI code doesn't bump the reference count of
the firmware node, while OF counter part does. Not that it's
a problem right now, since ACPI doesn't really use the reference
counting for firmware nodes, it still makes sense to make code
robust against any changes done there. For this,
 - switch ACPI case to use device_set_node() to be unified with OF
 - move reference counting to amba_device_add()
 - switch to use firmware nodes instead of OF ones

In the result we will have reference counting done in the same module
for all callers independently on the nature of firmware node behind.

0242737dc4 perf/smmuv3: Enable HiSilicon Erratum 162001900 quirk for HIP08/09
Some HiSilicon SMMU PMCG suffers the erratum 162001900 that the PMU
disable control sometimes fail to disable the counters. This will lead
to error or inaccurate data since before we enable the counters the
counter's still counting for the event used in last perf session.

This patch tries to fix this by hardening the global disable process.
Before disable the PMU, writing an invalid event type (0xffff) to
focibly stop the counters. Correspondingly restore each events on
pmu::pmu_enable().

fc001b36e5 ACPI: Move AMBA bus scan handling into arm64 specific directory
Commit fcea0ccf4f ("ACPI: bus: Consolidate all arm specific
initialisation into acpi_arm_init()") moved all of the ARM-specific
initialization into acpi_arm_init(). However, acpi_amba.c being outside
of drivers/acpi/arm64 got ignored and hence acpi_amba_init() was not
moved into acpi_arm_init().

Move the AMBA platform bus support into arm64 specific folder and make
acpi_amba_init() part of acpi_arm_init().

003e6b56d7 ACPI/IORT: Remove erroneous id_count check in iort_node_get_rmr_info()
According to the ARM IORT specifications DEN 0049 issue E,
the "Number of IDs" field in the ID mapping format reports
the number of IDs in the mapping range minus one.

In iort_node_get_rmr_info(), we erroneously skip ID mappings
whose "Number of IDs" equal to 0, resulting in valid mapping
nodes with a single ID to map being skipped, which is wrong.

Fix iort_node_get_rmr_info() by removing the bogus id_count
check.

858a56630a ACPI: AGDI: Improve error reporting for problems during .remove()
Returning an error value in a platform driver's remove callback results in
a generic error message being emitted by the driver core, but otherwise it
doesn't make a difference. The device goes away anyhow.

So instead of triggering the generic platform error message, emit a more
helpful message if a problem occurs and return 0 to suppress the generic
message.

This patch is a preparation for making platform remove callbacks return
void.

05da178ce0 ACPI/IORT: Update SMMUv3 DeviceID support
IORT E.e now allows SMMUv3 nodes to describe the DeviceID for MSIs
independently of wired GSIVs, where the previous oddly-restrictive
definition meant that an SMMU without PRI support had to provide a
DeviceID even if it didn't support MSIs either. Support this, with
the usual temporary flag definition while the real one is making
its way through ACPICA.

6251d38059 ACPI: ARM Performance Monitoring Unit Table (APMT) initial support
ARM Performance Monitoring Unit Table describes the properties of PMU
support in ARM-based system. The APMT table contains a list of nodes,
each represents a PMU in the system that conforms to ARM CoreSight PMU
architecture. The properties of each node include information required
to access the PMU (e.g. MMIO base address, interrupt number) and also
identification. For more detailed information, please refer to the
specification below:

The initial support adds the detection of APMT table and generic
infrastructure to create platform devices for ARM CoreSight PMUs.

bf2ee8d0c3 ACPI: scan: Support multiple DMA windows with different offsets
In DT systems configurations, of_dma_get_range() returns struct
bus_dma_region DMA regions; they are used to set-up devices
DMA windows with different offset available for translation between DMA
address and CPU address.

In ACPI systems configuration, acpi_dma_get_range() does not return
DMA regions yet and that precludes setting up the dev->dma_range_map
pointer and therefore DMA regions with multiple offsets.

Update acpi_dma_get_range() to return struct bus_dma_region
DMA regions like of_dma_get_range() does.

After updating acpi_dma_get_range(), acpi_arch_dma_setup() is changed for
ARM64, where the original dma_addr and size are removed as these
arguments are now redundant, and pass 0 and U64_MAX for dma_base
and size of arch_setup_dma_ops; this is a simplification consistent
with what other ACPI architectures also pass to iommu_setup_dma_ops().

da5fb9e1ad ACPI/IORT: Check node revision for PMCG resources
The original version of the IORT PMCG definition had an oversight
wherein there was no way to describe the second register page for an
implementation using the recommended RELOC_CTRS feature. Although the
spec was fixed, and the final patches merged to ACPICA and Linux written
against the new version, it seems that some old firmware based on the
original revision has survived and turned up in the wild.

Add a check for the original PMCG definition, and avoid filling in the
second memory resource with nonsense if so. Otherwise it is likely that
something horrible will happen when the PMCG driver attempts to probe.

11a8c5e3a9 ACPI: Move IOMMU setup code out of IORT
Extract the code that sets up the IOMMU infrastructure from IORT, since
it can be reused by VIOT. Move it one level up into a new
acpi_iommu_configure_id() function, which calls the IORT parsing
function which in turn calls the acpi_iommu_fwspec_init() helper.

db59e1b6e4 ACPI: arm64: Move DMA setup operations out of IORT
Extract generic DMA setup code out of IORT, so it can be reused by VIOT.
Keep it in drivers/acpi/arm64 for now, since it could break x86
platforms that haven't run this code so far, if they have invalid
tables.

1ecd5b1292 ACPI: GTDT: Don't corrupt interrupt mappings on watchdow probe failure
When failing the driver probe because of invalid firmware properties,
the GTDT driver unmaps the interrupt that it mapped earlier.

However, it never checks whether the mapping of the interrupt actially
succeeded. Even more, should the firmware report an illegal interrupt
number that overlaps with the GIC SGI range, this can result in an
IPI being unmapped, and subsequent fireworks (as reported by Dann
Frazier).

Rework the driver to have a slightly saner behaviour and actually
check whether the interrupt has been mapped before unmapping things.

434b73e61c iommu/arm-smmu-v3: Use device properties for pasid-num-bits
The pasid-num-bits property shouldn't need a dedicated fwspec field,
it's a job for device properties. Add properties for IORT, and access
the number of PASID bits using device_property_read_u32().

a1df829ead ACPI/IORT: Do not blindly trust DMA masks from firmware
Address issue observed on real world system with suboptimal IORT table
where DMA masks of PCI devices would get set to 0 as result.

iort_dma_setup() would query the root complex'/named component IORT
entry for a DMA mask, and use that over the one the device has been
configured with earlier.

Ideally we want to use the minimum mask of what the IORT contains for
the root complex and what the device was configured with.
