92826fcdfc drm/i915: Calculate watermark related members in the crtc_state, v4.
This removes pre/post_wm_update from intel_crtc->atomic, and
creates atomic state for it in intel_crtc.

Changes since v1:
- Rebase on top of wm changes.
Changes since v2:
- Split disable_cxsr into a separate patch.
Changes since v3:

d029bcad6e drm/i915: introduce intel_fbc_{enable,disable}
The goal is to call FBC enable/disable only once per modeset, while
activate/deactivate/update will be called multiple times.

The enable() function will be responsible for deciding if a CRTC will
have FBC on it and then it will "lock" FBC on this CRTC: it won't be
possible to change FBC's CRTC until disable(). With this, all checks
and resource acquisition that only need to be done once per modeset
can be moved from update() to enable(). And then the update(),
activate() and deactivate() code will also get simpler since they
won't need to worry about the CRTC being changed.

The disable() function will do the reverse operation of enable(). One
of its features is that it should only be called while the pipe is
already off. This guarantees that FBC is stopped and nothing is
using the CFB.

With this, the activate() and deactivate() functions just start and
temporarily stop FBC. They are the ones touching the hardware enable
bit, so HW state reflects dev_priv->crtc.active.

The last function remaining is update(). A lot of times I thought
about renaming update() to activate() or try_to_activate() since it's
called when we want to activate FBC. The thing is that update() may
not only decide to activate FBC, but also deactivate or keep it on the
same state, so I'll leave this name for now.

Moving code to enable() and disable() will also help in case we decide
to move FBC to pipe_config or something else later.

The current patch only puts the very basic code on enable() and
disable(). The next commits will take care of moving more stuff from
update() to the new functions.

  - Improve commit message (Chris).
v3: Rebase after changing the patch order.

0e631adc1a drm/i915: introduce is_active/activate/deactivate to the FBC terminology
The long term goal is to have enable/disable as the higher level
functions and activate/deactivate as the lower level functions, just
like we do for PSR and for the CRTC. This way, we'll run enable and
disable once per modeset, while update, activate and deactivate will
be run many times. With this, we can move the checks and code that
need to run only once per modeset to enable(), making the code simpler
and possibly a little faster.

This patch is just the first step on the conversion: it starts by
converting the current low level functions from enable/disable to
activate/deactivate. This patch by itself has no benefits other than
making review and rebase easier. Please see the next patches for more
details on the conversion.

754d113304 drm/i915: pass the crtc as an argument to intel_fbc_update()
There's no need to reevaluate the status of every single crtc when a
single crtc changes its state.

With this, we're cutting the case where due to a change in pipe B,
intel_fbc_update() is called, then intel_fbc_find_crtc() concludes FBC
should be enabled on pipe A, then it completely rechecks the state of
pipe A only to conclude FBC should remain enabled on pipe A. If any
change on pipe A triggers a need to recompute whether FBC is valid on
pipe A, then at some point someone is going to call
intel_fbc_update(PIPE_A).

The addition of intel_fbc_deactivate() is necessary so we keep track
of the previously selected CRTC when we do invalidate/flush. We're
also going to continue the enable/disable/activate/deactivate concept
in the next patches.

cda0aaaf55 drm/i915: Don't use crtc->config when reading out infoframe state
The .get_config() hooks should not reference anything in crtc->config,
everything should be based on the passed in pipe_config instead. So
don't dig out the cpu_transcoder from crtc->config on ddi platfforms,
and also avoid using the encoder->crtc link and instead look up the
pipe via pipe_config->base.crtc.

I don't think this will actually fix anything since during the initial
state readout we set up the encoder->crtc link prior to calling
.get_config(), and during the modeset state check the encoder->crtc
ought to be correct anyway since it's that state we just programmed.
But this seems the right thing to do anyway.

While at it, do some house cleaning on the local variables in the
.infoframe_enabled() hooks.

f0f59a00a1 drm/i915: Type safe register read/write
Make I915_READ and I915_WRITE more type safe by wrapping the register
offset in a struct. This should eliminate most of the fumbles we've had
with misplaced parens.

This only takes care of normal mmio registers. We could extend the idea
to other register types and define each with its own struct. That way
you wouldn't be able to accidentally pass the wrong thing to a specific
register access function.

The gpio_reg setup is probably the ugliest thing left. But I figure I'd
just leave it for now, and wait for some divine inspiration to strike
before making it nice.

As for the generated code, it's actually a bit better sometimes. Eg.
looking at i915_irq_handler(), we can see the following change:
  lea    0x70024(%rdx,%rax,1),%r9d
  mov    $0x1,%edx
- movslq %r9d,%r9
- mov    %r9,%rsi
- mov    %r9,-0x58(%rbp)
- callq  *0xd8(%rbx)
+ mov    %r9d,%esi
+ mov    %r9d,-0x48(%rbp)
 callq  *0xd8(%rbx)

So previously gcc thought the register offset might be signed and
decided to sign extend it, just in case. The rest appears to be
mostly just minor shuffling of instructions.

    s/_REG/_MMIO/ in the register defines

f0ab43e6c3 drm/i915: Introduce a gmbus power domain
Currently the gmbus code uses intel_aux_display_runtime_get/put in an

That function only takes the runtime PM reference which on VLV/CHV/BXT
is not enough. We need the disp2d/pipe-a well on VLV/CHV and power well
2 on BXT. So add a new power domnain for gmbus and kill off the now
unused intel_aux_display_runtime_get/put. And change
intel_hdmi_set_edid() to use the gmbus power domain too since that's all
we need there.

Also toss in a BUILD_BUG_ON() to catch problems if we run out of

Introduce intel_display_port_aux_power_domain() which simply returns
the appropriate AUX power domain for a specific port, and then replace
the intel_display_port_power_domain() with calls to the new function

need the lane power domains, and those are handled now purely from
modeset_update_crtc_power_domains().

My initial motivation for this was to see if I could keep the DPIO power
wells powered down while doing AUX on CHV, but turns out I can't so this
doesn't change anything for CHV at least. But I think it's still a

73dfc227ff drm/i915/skl: init/uninit display core as part of the HW power domain state
We need to initialize the display core part early, before initializing
the rest of the display power state. This is also described in the bspec
termed "Display initialization sequence". Atm we run this sequence
during driver loading after power domain HW state initialization which
is too late and during runtime suspend/resume which is unneeded and can
interere with DMC functionality which handles HW resources toggled
by this init/uninit sequence automatically. The init sequence must be
run as the first step of HW power state initialization and during
system resume. The uninit sequence must be run during system suspend.

To address the above move the init sequence to the initial HW power
state setup and the uninit sequence to a new power domains suspend
function called during system suspend.

As part of the init sequence we also have to reprogram the DMC firmware
as it's lost across a system suspend/resume cycle.

After this change CD clock initialization during driver loading will
happen only later after other dependent HW/SW parts are initialized,
while during system resume it will get initialized as the last step of
the init sequence. This distinction can be removed by some refactoring
of platform independent parts. I left this refactoring out from this
series since I didn't want to change non-SKL parts. This is a TODO for
later.

2f693e28b8 drm/i915: Make turning on/off PW1 and Misc I/O part of the init/fini sequences
Before this patch, we used the intel_display_power_{get,put} functions
to make sure the PW1 and Misc I/O power wells were enabled all the
time while LCPLL was enabled. We called a get() at
intel_ddi_pll_init() when we discovered that LCPLL was enabled, then
we would call put/get at skl_{un,}init_cdclk().

The problem is that skl_uninit_cdclk() is indirectly called by
intel_runtime_suspend(). So it will only release its power well
_after_ we already decided to runtime suspend. But since we only
decide to runtime suspend after all power wells and refcounts are
released, that basically means we will never decide to runtime
suspend.

So what this patch does to fix that problem is move the PW1 + Misc I/O
power well handling out of the runtime PM mechanism: instead of
calling intel_display_power_{get_put} - functions that touch the
refcount -, we'll call the low level intel_power_well_{en,dis}able,
which don't change the refcount. This way, it is now possible for the
refcount to actually reach zero, and we'll now start runtime
suspending/resuming.

v2 (from Paulo):
  - Write a commit message since the original patch left it empty.
  - Rebase after the intel_power_well_{en,dis}able rename.

414b7999b8 drm/i915/gen9: Remove csr.state, csr_lock and related code.
This removes two anti-patterns:
- Locking shouldn't be used to synchronize with async work (of any
  form, whether callbacks, workers or other threads). This is what the
  mutex_lock/unlock seems to have been for in intel_csr_load_program.
  Instead ordering should be ensured with the generic
  wait_for_completion()/complete(). Or more specific functions
  provided by the core kernel like e.g.
  flush_work()/cancel_work_sync() in the case of synchronizing with a
  work item.

- Don't invent own completion like the following code did with the
  (already removed) wait_for(csr_load_status_get()) pattern - it's
  really hard to get these right when you want them to be _really_
  correct (and be fast) in all cases. Furthermore it's easier to read
  code using the well-known primitives than new ones using
  non-standard names.

Before enabling/disabling DC6 check if the firmware is loaded
successfully. This is guaranteed during runtime s/r, since otherwise we
don't enable RPM, but not during system s/r.

Note that it's still unclear whether we need to enable/disable DC6
during system s/r, until that's clarified, keep the current behavior and
enable/disable DC6.

Also after this patch there is a race during system s/r where the
firmware may not be loaded yet, that's addressed in an upcoming patch.

e00bf69644 drm/i915: Move the fbdev async_schedule() into intel_fbdev.c
Reading the driver load/unload code leaves one confused as there's
an async_schedule() in the load, but not async_synchronize_full()
in sight. In fact it's hidden inside intel_fbdev.c. So let's move the
async_schedule() into intel_fbdev.c as well so that it's next to the
async_synchronize_full(), which should make the relationship easier
to see.

Plus this way we won't schedule a nop function call when fbdev is
disabled. And we were passing a pointer to a static inline
function to async_schedule(), which seems rather dubious to me.

47c99438b5 drm/i915: Drop intel_update_sprite_watermarks
The only platform that still has an update_sprite_wm entrypoint is SKL;
on SKL, intel_update_sprite_watermarks just updates intel_plane->wm and
then performs a regular watermark update. However intel_plane->wm is
only used to update a couple fields in intel_wm_config, and those fields
are never used by the SKL code, so on SKL an update_sprite_wm is
effectively identical to an update_wm call. Since we're already
ensuring that the regular intel_update_wm is called any time we'd try to
call intel_update_sprite_watermarks, the whole call is redundant and can
be dropped.

5507faeb03 drm/i915: make backlight hooks connector specific
Previously we've relied on having basically one backlight and one

support on VLV/CHV platforms with MIPI DSI. In the foreseeable future
we'll have at least DPCD based backlight control on eDP and DCS command
based backlight control on MIPI DSI. Backlight is becoming more and more
connector specific, so reflect this fact by making the backlight control
hooks connector specific.

This enables further work to reuse generic backlight code in
intel_panel.c while adding more specific backlight code accessed via the

237ed86c69 drm/i915: Check live status before reading edid
The Bspec is very clear that Live status must be checked about before
trying to read EDID over DDC channel. This patch makes sure that HDMI
EDID is read only when live status is up.

The live status doesn't seem to perform very consistent across various
platforms when tested with different monitors. The reason behind that is
some monitors are late to provide right voltage to set live_status up.
So, after getting the interrupt, for a small duration, live status reg
fluctuates, and then settles down showing the correct staus.

This is explained here in, in a rough way:
HPD line  ________________
			 |\ T1 = Monitor Hotplug causing IRQ
			 | \______________________________________
			 | |
                         | |
			 | |   T2 = Live status is stable
			 | |  _____________________________________
			 | | /|
Live status _____________|_|/ |
			 | |  |
			 | |  |
			 | |  |
			T0 T1  T2

(Between T1 and T2 Live status fluctuates or can be even low, depending on
 the monitor)

After several experiments, we have concluded that a max delay
of 30ms is enough to allow the live status to settle down with
most of the monitors. This total delay of 30ms has been split into
a resolution of 3 retries of 10ms each, for the better cases.

This delay is kept at 30ms, keeping in consideration that, HDCP compliance
expect the HPD handler to respond a plug out in 100ms, by disabling port.

b0b3384612 drm/i915: Trick CL2 into life on CHV when using pipe B with port B
Normmally the common lane in a PHY channel gets powered up when some
of the data lanes get powered up. But when we're driving port B with
pipe B we don't want to enabled any of the data lanes, and just want
the DPLL in the common lane to be active.

To make that happens we have to temporarily enable some data lanes
after which we can access the DPLL registers in the common lane. Once
the pipe is up and running we can drop the power override on the data
lanes allowing them to shut down. From this point forward the common
lane will in fact stay powered on until the data lanes in the other
channel get powered down.

Ville's extended explanation from the review thread:

On Wed, Aug 19, 2015 at 07:47:41AM +0530, Deepak wrote:
> One Q, why only for port B? Port C is also in same common lane right?

Port B is in the first PHY channel which also houses CL1. CL1 always
powers up whenever any lanes in either PHY channel are powered up.
CL2 only powers up if lanes in the second channel (ie. the one with
port C) powers up.

So in this scenario (pipe B->port B) we want the DPLL from CL2, but
ideally we only want to power up the lanes for port B. Powering up
port B lanes will only power up CL1, but as we need CL2 instead we
need to, temporarily, power up some lanes in port C as well.

Crossing the streams the other way (pipe A->port C) is not a problem
since CL1 powers up whenever anything else powers up. So powering up
some port C lanes is enough on its own to make the CL1 DPLL
operational, even though CL1 and the lanes live in separate channels.

e0fce78f04 drm/i915: Implement PHY lane power gating for CHV
Powergate the PHY lanes when they're not needed. For HDMI all four lanes
are needed always, but for DP we can enable only the needed lanes. To
power down the unused lanes we use some power down override bits in the
DISPLAY_PHY_CONTROL register. Without the overrides it appears that the
hardware always powers on all the lanes. When the port is disabled the
power down override is not needed and the lanes will shut off on their
own. That also means the override is critical to actually be able to
access the DPIO registers before the port is actually enabled.

Additionally the common lanes will power down when not needed. CL1
remains on as long as anything else is on, CL2 will shut down when
all the lanes in the same channel will shut down. There is one exception
for CL2 that will be dealt in a separate patch for clarity.

With potentially some lanes powered down, the DP code now has to check
the number of active lanes before accessing PCS/TX registers. All
registers in powered down blocks will reads as 0xffffffff, and soe we
would drown in warnings from vlv_dpio_read() if we allowed the code
to access all those registers.

Another important detail in the DP code is the "TX latency optimal"
setting. Normally the second TX lane acts as some kind of reset master,
with the other lanes as slaves. But when only a single lane is enabled,
that single lane obviously has to be the master.

A bit of extra care is needed to reconstruct the initial state of the
DISPLAY_PHY_CONTROL register since it can't be read safely. So instead
read the actual lane status from the DPLL/PHY_STATUS registers and
use that to determine which lanes ought to be powergated initially.

We also need to switch the PHY power modes to "deep PSR" to avoid
a hard system hang when powering down the single channel PHY.

Also sprinkle a few debug prints around so that we can monitor the
DISPLAY_PHY_STATUS changes without having to read it and risk
corrupting it.

v2: Add locking to chv_powergate_phy_lanes()
v3: Actually enable dynamic powerdown in the PHY and deal with the
    fallout

901c2daf05 drm/i915: Put back lane_count into intel_dp and add link_rate too
With MST there won't be a crtc assigned to the main link encoder, so
trying to dig up the pipe_config from there is a recipe for an oops.

Instead store the parameters (lane_count and link_rate) in the encoder,
and use those values during link training etc. Since those parameters
are now assigned only when the link is actually enabled,
.compute_config() won't clobber them as it did before.

Hardware state readout is still bonkers though as we don't transfer the
link parameters from pipe_config intel_dp. We should do that during
encoder sanitation. But since we don't even do a proper job of reading
out the main link encoder state for MST there's littel point in
worrying about this now.

621d4c76fd drm/i915: Save latest known sink CRC to compensate delayed counter reset.
By Vesa DP 1.2 Spec TEST_CRC_COUNT should be
"reset to 0 when TEST_SINK bit 0 = 0."

However for some strange reason when PSR is enabled in
certain platforms this is not true. At least not immediatelly.

So we face cases like this:

first get_sink_crc operation:
	     count: 0, crc: 000000000000
	     count: 1, crc: c101c101c101
returned expected crc: c101c101c101

secont get_sink_crc operation:
	     count: 1, crc: c101c101c101
	     count: 0, crc: 000000000000
	     count: 1, crc: 0000c1010000
should return expected crc: 0000c1010000

But also the reset to 0 should be faster resulting into:

get_sink_crc operation:
	     count: 1, crc: c101c101c101
	     count: 1, crc: 0000c1010000
should return expected crc: 0000c1010000

So in order to know that the second one is valid one
we need to compare the pair (count, crc) with latest (count, crc).

If the pair changed you have your valid CRC.

6f4551fe8e drm/i915: fix FBC frontbuffer tracking flushing code
Due to the way busy_bits was handled, we were not doing any flushes if
we didn't previously get an invalidate. Since it's possible to get
flushes without an invalidate first, remove the busy_bits early
return.

So now that we don't have the busy_bits guard anymore we'll need the
origin check for the GTT tracking (we were not doing anything on GTT
flushes due to the GTT check at invalidate()).

As a last detail, since we can get multiple consecutive flushes,
disable FBC before updating it, otherwise intel_fbc_update() will just
keep FBC enabled instead of restarting it.

Notice that this does not fix any of the current IGT tests due to the
fact that we still have a few intel_fbc() calls at points where we
also have the frontbuffer tracking calls: we didn't fully convert to
frontbuffer tracking yet. Once we remove those calls and start relying
only on the frontbuffer tracking infrastructure we'll need this patch.

262cd2e154 drm/i915: CHV DDR DVFS support and another watermark rewrite
Turns out the VLV/CHV system agent doesn't understand memory
latencies, so trying to rely on the PND deadline mechanism is not
going to fly especially when DDR DVFS is enabled. Currently we try to
avoid the problems by lying to the system agent about the deadlines
and setting the FIFO watermarks to 8 cachelines. This however leads to
bad memory self refresh residency.

So in order to satosfy everyone we'll just give up on the deadline
scheme and program the watermarks old school based on the worst case
memory latency.

I've modelled this a bit on the ILK+ approach where we compute multiple
sets of watermarks for each pipe (PM2,PM5,DDR DVFS) and when merge thet
appropriate one later with the watermarks from other pipes. There isn't
too much to merge actually since each pipe has a totally independent
FIFO (well apart from the mess with the partially shared DSPARB
registers), but still decopuling the pipes from each other seems like a
good idea.

Eventually we'll want to perform the watermark update in two phases
around the plane update to avoid underruns due to the single buffered
watermark registers. But that's still in limbo for ILK+ too, so I've not
gone that far yet for VLV/CHV either.

91af127fd7 drm/i915: Update i915_gem_object_sync() to take a request structure
The plan is to pass requests around as the basic submission tracking structure
rather than rings and contexts. This patch updates the i915_gem_object_sync()
code path.

v2: Much more complex patch to share a single request between the sync and the
page flip. The _sync() function now supports lazy allocation of the request
structure. That is, if one is passed in then that will be used. If one is not,
then a request will be allocated and passed back out. Note that the _sync() code
does not necessarily require a request. Thus one will only be created until
certain situations. The reason the lazy allocation must be done within the
_sync() code itself is because the decision to need one or not is not really
something that code above can second guess (except in the case where one is
definitely not required because no ring is passed in).

The call chains above _sync() now support passing a request through which most
callers passing in NULL and assuming that no request will be required (because
they also pass in NULL for the ring and therefore can't be generating any ring
code).

The exeception is intel_crtc_page_flip() which now supports having a request
returned from _sync(). If one is, then that request is shared by the page flip
(if the page flip is of a type to need a request). If _sync() does not generate
a request but the page flip does need one, then the page flip path will create
its own request.

v3: Updated comment description to be clearer about 'to_req' parameter (Tomas

synchronisation code.

Currently intel_gen4_compute_page_offset() simply picks the closest
page boundary below the linear offset. That however may not be suitably
aligned to satisfy any hardware specific restrictions. So let's make
sure the page boundary we choose is properly aligned.

Also to play it a bit safer lets split the remaining linear offset into
x and y values instead of just x. This should make no difference for
most platforms since we convert the x and y offsets back into a linear
offset before feeding them to the hardware. HSW+ are different however
and use x and y offsets even with linear buffers, so they might have
trouble if either the x or y get too big.

f721790560 Revert "drm/i915: Read hw state into an atomic state struct, v2."
This reverts commit 3bae26eb2991c00670df377cf6c3bc2b0577e82a.

Seems it introduces regressions for 3 different reasons, oh boy..

In bug #90868 as I can see the atomic state will be restored on
resume without the planes being set up properly. Because plane
setup here requires the atomic state, we'll have to settle
for committing atomic planes first.

In bug #90861 the failure appears to affect mostly DP devices,
and happens because reading out the atomic state prevents a modeset
on boot, which would require better hw state readout.

In bug #90874 it's shown that cdclk should be part of the atomic
state, so only performing a single modeset during resume excarbated
the issue.

It's better to fix those issues first, and then commit this patch,
so do that temporarily.

b12ce1d84f drm/i915: Kill intel_flush_primary_plane()
The primary plane frobbing was removed from the sprite code in
 commit ecce87ea3a
 Author: Maarten Lankhorst <maarten.lankhorst@linux.intel.com>
 Date:   Tue Apr 21 17:12:50 2015 +0300

    drm/i915: Remove implicitly disabling primary plane for now

but the intel_flush_primary_plane() calls were left behind. Replace them
with straight forward POSTING_READ() of the sprite surface address
register.

The other user of intel_flush_primary_plane() is g4x_disable_trickle_feed()
where we can just inline the steps directly.

This allows intel_flush_primary_plane() to be killed off.

5d96d8afcf drm/i915/skl: Deinit/init the display at suspend/resume
We need to re-init the display hardware when going out of suspend. This
includes:

  - Hooking the PCH to the reset logic
  - Restoring CDCDLK
  - Enabling the DDB power

Among those, only the CDCDLK one is a bit tricky. There's some
complexity in that:

  - DPLL0 (which is the source for CDCLK) has two VCOs, each with a set
    of supported frequencies. As eDP also uses DPLL0 for its link rate,
    once DPLL0 is on, we restrict the possible eDP link rates the chosen
    VCO.
  - CDCLK also limits the bandwidth available to push pixels.

So, as a first step, this commit restore what the BIOS set, until I can
do more testing.

In case that's of interest for the reviewer, I've unit tested the
function that derives the decimal frequency field:

  #include <stdio.h>
  #include <stdint.h>
  #include <assert.h>

  #define ARRAY_SIZE(x) (sizeof(x) / sizeof(*(x)))

  static const struct dpll_freq {
          unsigned int freq;
          unsigned int decimal;
  } freqs[] = {
          { .freq = 308570, .decimal = 0b01001100111},
          { .freq = 337500, .decimal = 0b01010100001},
          { .freq = 432000, .decimal = 0b01101011110},
          { .freq = 450000, .decimal = 0b01110000010},
          { .freq = 540000, .decimal = 0b10000110110},
          { .freq = 617140, .decimal = 0b10011010000},
          { .freq = 675000, .decimal = 0b10101000100},
  };

  static void intbits(unsigned int v)
  {
          int i;

          for(i = 10; i >= 0; i--)
                  putchar('0' + ((v >> i) & 1));
  }

  static unsigned int freq_decimal(unsigned int freq /* in kHz */)
  {
          return (freq - 1000) / 500;
  }

  static void test_freq(const struct dpll_freq *entry)
  {
          unsigned int decimal = freq_decimal(entry->freq);

          printf("freq: %d, expected: ", entry->freq);
          intbits(entry->decimal);
          printf(", got: ");
          intbits(decimal);
          putchar('\n');

          assert(decimal == entry->decimal);
  }

  int main(int argc, char **argv)
  {
          int i;

          for (i = 0; i < ARRAY_SIZE(freqs); i++)
                  test_freq(&freqs[i]);

          return 0;
  }

v2:
  - Rebase on top of -nightly
  - Use (freq - 1000) / 500 for the decimal frequency (Ville)
  - Fix setting the enable bit of HSW_NDE_RSTWRN_OPT (Ville)
  - Rename skl_display_{resume,suspend} to skl_{init,uninit}_cdclk to
    be consistent with the BXT code (Ville)
  - Store boot CDCLK in ddi_pll_init (Ville)
  - Merge dev_priv's skl_boot_cdclk into cdclk_freq
  - Use LCPLL_PLL_LOCK instead of (1 << 30) (Ville)
  - Replace various '0' by SKL_DPLL0 to be a bit more explicit that
    we're programming DPLL0
  - Busy poll the PCU before doing the frequency change. It takes about
    3/4 cycles, each separated by 10us, to get the ACK from the CPU
    (Ville)

v3:
  - Restore dev_priv->skl_boot_cdclk, leaving unification with
    dev_priv->cdclk_freq for a later patch (Daniel, Ville)

bcafc4e38b drm/i915: Limit mmio flip RPS boosts
Since we will often pageflip to an active surface, we will often have to
wait for the surface to be written before issuing the flip. Also we are
likely to wait on that surface in plenty of time before the vblank.
Since we have a mechanism for boosting when a flip misses the expected
vblank, curtain the number of times we RPS boost when simply waiting for
mmioflip.

eed29a5b21 drm/i915: s/\<rq\>/req/g
The merged seqno->request conversion from John called request
variables req, but some (not all) of Chris' recent patches changed
those to just rq. We've had a lenghty (and inconclusive) discussion on
irc which is the more meaningful name with maybe at most a slight bias
towards req.

Given that the "don't change names without good reason to avoid
conflicts" rule applies, so lets go back to a req everywhere for
consistency. I'll sed any patches for which this will cause conflicts
before applying.

b2cfe0ab63 drm/i915: Fix race on unreferencing the wrong mmio-flip-request
As we perform the mmio-flip without any locking and then try to acquire
the struct_mutex prior to dereferencing the request, it is possible for
userspace to queue a new pageflip before the worker can finish clearing
the old state - and then it will clear the new flip request. The result
is that the new flip could be completed before the GPU has finished
rendering.

2cd601c620 drm/i915: Adding dbuf support for skl nv12 format.
Skylake nv12 format requires dbuf (aka. ddb) calculations
and programming for each of y and uv sub-planes. Made minor
changes to reuse current dbuf calculations and programming
for uv plane. i.e., with this change, existing computation
is used for either packed format or uv portion of nv12
depending on incoming format. Added new code for dbuf
computation and programming for y plane.

This patch is a pre-requisite for adding NV12 format support.
Actual nv12 support is coming in later patches.
