Since i2c autoprobing is no longer supported by v4l2 we need to make sure
that the i2c modules are linked before the v4l2 modules. The v4l2 modules
now rely on the presence of the i2c modules, so these must have initialized
themselves before the v4l2 modules.
The exception is the ir-kbd-i2c module, which is the only one still using
autoprobing. This one should be loaded at the end of the v4l2 module. Loading
it earlier actually causes problems with tveeprom. Once ir-kbd-i2c is no
longer autoprobing, then it has to move up as well.
This is only an issue when everything is compiled into the kernel.

The i2c quirk in the saa7134_i2c_xfer function does a bogus write
to i2c address 0xfd, to work around a bug in the silicon that
affects read transactions.
Unfortunately, this hack is not working properly, since the bogus
write is to 0xfd, an invalid i2c address. Fix this quirk by using
an actual valid i2c address, 0xfe, which is still unlikely to be
used as an i2c address for any actual i2c client.
This is required in order to properly communicate with a TDA10048
DVB-T demod located at i2c address 0x10 on the primary i2c bus.

Let card drivers probe for IR receiver devices and instantiate them if
found. Ultimately it would be better if we could stop probing
completely, but I suspect this won't be possible for all card types.
There's certainly room for cleanups. For example, some drivers are
sharing I2C adapter IDs, so they also had to share the list of I2C
addresses being probed for an IR receiver. Now that each driver
explicitly says which addresses should be probed, maybe some addresses
can be dropped from some drivers.
Also, the special cases in saa7134-i2c should probably be handled on a
per-board basis. This would be more efficient and less risky than always
probing extra addresses on all boards. I'll give it a try later.

When the tuner modules were moved to common/tuners, a separate customize
option were added for tuners. However, the automatic selection of the
tuners were still using the older option.
This causes that the automatic selection to fail, if DVB_FE_CUSTOMISE is
selected. Also, since those tuners are now under MEDIA_TUNER_CUSTOMIZE
menu, if you unset MEDIA_TUNER_CUSTOMIZE, you can't manually select the
tuners.
This patch fixes this error by replacing DVB_FE_CUSTOMISE by
MEDIA_TUNER_CUSTOMIZE on all places were a tuner is selected.
The patch were generated by this small script:

done

BAR base is located in the middle of the 4K page and the hardcoded
size argument makes the request span two pages causing the conflict.
Fix the hard coded size argument in ioremap().
Andy Burns commented:
I have already sent this patch on the linux-dvb list, but it didn't get
much attention, so re-sending direct, I hope you all don't mind.
While attempting to run mythtv in a xen domU, I encountered problems
loading the driver for my saa7134 card, with an error from ioremap().
This error was due to the driver allocating an incorrectly sized mmio
area, which was trapped by xen's permission checks, but this would go
un-noticed on a kernel without xen.
My card has a 1K sized mmio area, I've had information that other cards
have 2K areas, perhaps others have different sizes, yet the driver
always attempts to map 4K. I realise that the granularity of mapping is
the page size, which typically would be 4K, but unless the card's base
address happens to fall on a 4K boundary (mine does not) then the
base+4K will end up spanning two pages, and this is when the error
occurs under xen.
My patch uses the pci_resource_len macro to determine the size required
for the user's particular card, instead of the hardcoded 4K value. I've
tested with a couple of printk() inside ioremap() that the start address
and size do get rounded to the closest page boundary.
With this patch I am able to successfully load the saa7134 driver and
run mythtv under xen with my card, subject to correct pollirq settings
in case of shared IRQ, I am still seeing occasional DMA panics, which I
think are related to swiotlb handling by dom0/domU, usually the panic
occurs when changing mux, once tuned to a mux, 12 hour continuous
recordings are possible without errors.

The kernel number of a v4l2 node (e.g. videoX, radioX or vbiX) is now
independent of the minor number. So instead of using the minor field
of the video_device struct one has to use the num field: this always
contains the kernel number of the device node.
I forgot about this when I did the v4l2 core change, so this patch
converts all drivers that use it in one go. Luckily the change is
trivial.

This add frontend R/W mutual exclusion.
Prior to this point in time it was possible to open both
frontends simultaneously which an MFE card cannot support.
In order to stop this, a delayed open is performed which
has the following function:
- Return EBUSY after a configurable amount of time
if a frontend is unavailable due to the other being
in use.
- Only allow opening of a frontend if the kernel thread
of the other has stopped.
This solution was chosen to allow switching between
frontends to work as seamlessly as possible. When both
frontends are actually opened simultaneously then one
will only open, but if quick switching is performed
between one of many then the new open will succeed in
a clean fashion rather than interrupting a kernel
thread.

A detailed description from the original patches 2 years ago:
"The WinTV-HVR3000 has a single transport bus which is shared between
a DVB-T and DVB-S modulator. These patches build on the bus acquisition
cx88 work from a few weeks ago to add support for this.
So to applications the HVR3000 looks like this:
/dev/dvb/adapter0/fe0 (cx24123 DVB-S demod)
/dev/dvb/adapter0/fe1 (cx22702 DVB-T demod)
Additional boards continue as before, eg:
/dev/dvb/adapter1/fe0 (lgdt3302 ATSC demod)
The basic change is removing the single instance of the videobuf_dvb in
cx8802_dev and saa7134_dev(?) and replacing it with a list and some
supporting functions.
*NOTE* This branch was taken before v4l-dvb was closed for 2.6.19 so
two or three current cx88 patches appear to be reversed by this tree,

This patch adds the capability of decoding NEC protocol, received via GPIO18 line.
This GPIO port can trigger saa7134 IRQ.
A future improvement would be to make it a little more generic to work also
with GPIO16 line.
A pure IRQ code didn't work, since some delays were introduced on the tests we
did.
A possible approach would be to use polling at a rate of 2.5 ms or less. If a
new code were taken, a code similar to nec_task() could be used. However, this
would add an extra overhead to kernel, and will consume more power.
Due to that, we took an hybrid approach: an IRQ upper half to trigger when a
new key is received and a bottom half to convert pulse-distance into a keycode.
The bottom half is polling based, to improve performance. During the bottom
half proccess, GPIO18 IRQ line is disabled, preventing IRQ reentrancy and
improving performance a little bit.

When saa7134_board_init2 runs, it immediately overwrites the current value
(set earlier from module parameter) of tuner_type with the static values,
and then does autodetection. This patch moves the tuner_addr copy to earlier
in saa7134_initdev and removes the tuner_type copy from saa7134_board_init2.
Autodetection could still potentially change to the wrong tuner type, but it

The saa7134 driver uses a (non-atomic) variable in an attempt to
only allow one opener of the device (how it deals with sending
the fd over unix sockets I don't know).
Unfortunately, the release function first decrements this variable,
and THEN goes on to disable more of the device. This allows for
a race where another opener of the device comes in after the decrement of
the variable, configures the hardware just to then see the hardware
be disabled by the rest of the release function.
This patch makes the release function use the same lock as the open
function to protect the hardware as well as the variable (which now
at least has some locking to protect it).

Since:
1) FW_LOADER is defined as:
config FW_LOADER
tristate "Userspace firmware loading support"
depends on HOTPLUG
2) several V4L/DVB driver just selects it;
3) select is not smart enough to auto-select HOTPLUG, if select FW_LOADER.
So, All drivers that select FW_LOADER should also depend on HOTPLUG.
An easier solution (for the end-user perspective) would be to "select HOTPLUG".
However, live is not simple. This would cause recursive dependency issues like
this one:
drivers/usb/Kconfig:62:error: found recursive dependency: USB -> USB_OHCI_HCD

Tuner setup were happening during i2c attach callback. This means that it would
happen on two conditions:
1) if tuner module weren't load, it will happen at request_module("tuner");
2) if tuner is not compiled as a module, or it is already loaded
(for example, on setups with more than one tuner), it will happen
when saa7134 registers I2C bus.
Due to that, if tuner were loaded, tuner setup will happen _before_ reading
the proper values at tuner eeprom. Since set_addr refuses to change for a tuner
that were previously defined (except if the tuner_addr is set), this were
making eeprom tuner detection useless.
This patch removes tuner type setup from saa7134-i2c, moving it to the proper
place, after taking eeprom into account.

- Currently it is not possible to set the higher LNB supply voltages, so
14V instead of 13V in the 2nd section.
- It is not possibe to turn off the 2nd LNB supply independently.
This comes from the problem that the 2nd section can't access the i2c interface
of the LNB supply chip.

In the case of an access error to the high latency registers of
the audio DSP, the interface needs to be cleared, otherwise a cascade
of errors occurs.

tuner-xc2028 needs to know when a DVB module is sharing the same analog tuner.
This is done by comparing a magic number that needs to be the same on analog
and on digital. To make easier, this magic number is a pointer to some data
struct.
With the previous code, two different pointers were using, causing a
miss-detection.

This patch adds support for the following saa7134 xc3028 based boards:
132 -> AVerMedia Cardbus TV/Radio (E506R) [1461:f436]
133 -> AVerMedia Hybrid TV/Radio (A16D) [1461:f936]
134 -> Avermedia M115 [1461:a836]
135 -> Compro VideoMate T750 [185b:c900]
This is based on a original patch thanks to Markus Rechberger that added xc3028
gpio init code for the above boards.
This patch moves saa7134_tuner_callback to saa7134-cards, originally used only
by tda8290 DVB-S boards. The callback was made more generic to support other
tuners.
Currently, it supports both tda8290 and xc2028/xc3028 tuners. Added also the
basis for xc5000 tuner callback.

The I2C bus interface of the LNB supply sits behind the i2c gate of the
tda10086, so wrappers were necessary for the set_voltage functions.
For the time being, the board will show up as MD8800

free_irq() calls synchronize_irq() for you, so there is no need for
drivers to manually do the same thing (again). Thus, calls where
sync-irq immediately precedes free-irq can be simplified.
However, during this audit several bugs were noticed, where free-irq is
preceded by a "irq >= 0" check... but the sync-irq call is not covered
by the same check.
So, where sync-irq could not be eliminated completely, the missing check
was added.

This header file exists only for some hacks to adapt alsa-driver
tree. It's useless for building in the kernel. Let's move a few
lines in it to sound/core.h and remove it.
With this patch, sound/driver.h isn't removed but has just a single
compile warning to include it. This should be really killed in
future.
