b1eea857d8 ACPI / PMIC: support PMIC operation region for CrystalCove
The Baytrail-T platform firmware has defined two customized operation
regions for PMIC chip Crystal Cove - one is for power resource handling
and one is for thermal: sensor temperature reporting, trip point setting,
etc. This patch adds support for them on top of the existing Crystal Cove
PMIC driver.

The reason to split code into a separate file intel_pmic.c is that there
are more PMIC drivers with ACPI operation region support coming and we can
re-use those code. The intel_pmic_opregion_data structure is created also
for this purpose: when we need to support a new PMIC's operation region,
we just need to fill those callbacks and the two register mapping tables.

1a5fb99de4 mfd: tc6393xb: Fail ohci suspend if full state restore is required
Some boards with TC6393XB chip require full state restore during system
resume thanks to chip's VCC being cut off during suspend (Sharp SL-6000
tosa is one of them). Failing to do so would result in ohci Oops on
resume due to internal memory contentes being changed. Fail ohci suspend
on tc6393xb is full state restore is required.

Recommended workaround is to unbind tmio-ohci driver before suspend and
rebind it after resume.

This reverts commit b7cde7078d
("mfd: sec-core: Prepare regulators for suspend state to reduce power-consumption")

Commit b7cde7078d called regulator_suspend_prepare() to prepare the
regulators for a suspend state. But it did from the device pm suspend
handler while the regulator suspend prepare function iterates over all
regulators and not only the one managed by this device so it doesn't
seems to be correct to call it from within a device driver.

It is better to call the regulator suspend prepare/finish functions
from platform code instead so this patch reverts the mentioned commit.

2c86e9fb72 mfd: Add atmel-hlcdc driver
The HLCDC IP available on some Atmel SoCs (i.e. at91sam9n12, at91sam9x5
family or sama5d3 family) exposes 2 subdevices:
- a display controller (controlled by a DRM driver)
- a PWM chip

The MFD device provides a regmap and several clocks (those connected
to this hardware block) to its subdevices.

This way concurrent accesses to the iomem range are handled by the regmap
framework, and each subdevice can safely access HLCDC registers.

6e3f62f079 mfd: core: Fix platform-device id generation
Make sure to always honour multi-function devices registered with
PLATFORM_DEVID_NONE (-1) or PLATFORM_DEVID_AUTO (-2) as id base. In this
case it does not make sense to append the cell id to the mfd-id base and
potentially change the requested behaviour.

Specifically this will allow multi-function devices to be registered
with PLATFORM_DEVID_AUTO while still having non-zero cell ids.

bdb0066df9 mfd: syscon: Decouple syscon interface from platform devices
Currently a syscon entity can be only registered directly through a
platform device that binds to a dedicated syscon driver. However in
certain use cases it is desirable to make a device used with another
driver a syscon interface provider.

For example, certain SoCs (e.g. Exynos) contain system controller
blocks which perform various functions such as power domain control,
CPU power management, low power mode control, but in addition contain
certain IP integration glue, such as various signal masks,
coprocessor power control, etc. In such case, there is a need to have
a dedicated driver for such system controller but also share registers
with other drivers. The latter is where the syscon interface is helpful.

In case of DT based platforms, this patch decouples syscon object from
syscon platform driver, and allows to create syscon objects first time
when it is required by calling of syscon_regmap_lookup_by APIs and keep
a list of such syscon objects along with syscon provider device_nodes
and regmap handles.

For non-DT based platforms, this patch keeps syscon platform driver
structure so that syscon can be probed and such non-DT based drivers
can use syscon_regmap_lookup_by_pdev API and access regmap handles.
Once all users of "syscon_regmap_lookup_by_pdev" migrated to DT based,
we can completely remove platform driver of syscon, and keep only helper
functions to get regmap handles.

v3.18-rc6 contains an important DT bug fix, c1a2086e2d, "of/selftest:
Fix off-by-one error in removal path" which affects testing of the

7ca2b1c672 mfd: dln2: Fix _dln2_transfer return code
If wait_for_completion_interruptible_timeout returns a positive value
it may be propagated as the return value of _dln2_transfer. This
contradicts the documentation of the function and exposes unnecessary
internals to the callers.

This patch makes sure to set the return value to 0 in that case.

ff3bbc5c63 mfd/axp20x: avoid irq numbering collision
IRQ numbers in axp20x devices are defined with high-order bit first
in each IRQ enable/status registers. On Intel platforms it is more
common to number IRQs with least significant bit first. Therefore,
sharing IRQ# between the two is very difficult. Since AXP288 is a
customized PMIC for Intel platform and the amount of shared IRQs are
very small, we use separate IRQ numbering. This also fixes collision
and a duplicate in WBTO interrupt.

e.g. For the 16 interrupts controlled in IRQ enabled registers 1 & 2,
on axp20x for ARM, the PMIC local IRQ numbers and register bits are
mapped as:

This patch implements the USB part of the Diolan USB-I2C/SPI/GPIO
Master Adapter DLN-2. Details about the device can be found here:

https://www.diolan.com/i2c/i2c_interface.html.

Information about the USB protocol can be found in the Programmer's
Reference Manual [1], see section 1.7.

Because the hardware has a single transmit endpoint and a single
receive endpoint the communication between the various DLN2 drivers
and the hardware will be muxed/demuxed by this driver.

Each DLN2 module will be identified by the handle field within the DLN2
message header. If a DLN2 module issues multiple commands in parallel
they will be identified by the echo counter field in the message header.

The DLN2 modules can use the dln2_transfer() function to issue a
command and wait for its response. They can also register a callback
that is going to be called when a specific event id is generated by
the device (e.g. GPIO interrupts). The device uses handle 0 for
sending events.

481c7f868c mfd: twl4030-power: Fix poweroff with PM configuration enabled
Commit e7cd1d1eb1 ("mfd: twl4030-power: Add generic reset
configuration") enabled configuring the PM features for twl4030.

This caused poweroff command to fail on devices that have the
BCI charger on twl4030 wired, or have power wired for VBUS.
Instead of powering off, the device reboots. This is because
voltage is detected on charger or VBUS with the default bits
enabled for the power transition registers.

To fix the issue, let's just clear VBUS and CHG bits as we want
poweroff command to keep the system powered off.

c0acb8144b mfd: max77693: Fix always masked MUIC interrupts
All interrupts coming from MUIC were ignored because interrupt source
register was masked.

The Maxim 77693 has a "interrupt source" - a separate register and interrupts
which give information about PMIC block triggering the individual
interrupt (charger, topsys, MUIC, flash LED).

By default bootloader could initialize this register to "mask all"
value. In such case (observed on Trats2 board) MUIC interrupts won't be
generated regardless of their mask status. Regmap irq chip was unmasking
individual MUIC interrupts but the source was masked

Before introducing regmap irq chip this interrupt source was unmasked,
read and acked. Reading and acking is not necessary but unmasking is.

43fc9396ca mfd: max77693: Use proper regmap for handling MUIC interrupts
Interrupts coming from Maxim77693 MUIC block (MicroUSB Interface
Controller) were not handled at all because wrong regmap was used for
MUIC's regmap_irq_chip.

The MUIC component of Maxim 77693 uses different I2C address thus second
regmap is created and used by max77693 extcon driver. The registers for
MUIC interrupts are also in that block and should be handled by that
second regmap.

However the regmap irq chip for MUIC was configured with default regmap
which could not read MUIC registers.

5063e25a30 of: Eliminate of_allnodes list
The device tree structure is composed of two lists; the 'allnodes' list
which is a singly linked list containing every node in the tree, and the
child->parent structure where each parent node has a singly linked list
of children. All of the data in the allnodes list can be easily
reproduced with the parent-child lists, so of_allnodes is actually
unnecessary. Remove it entirely which saves a bit of memory and
simplifies the data structure quite a lot.

ea584595fc This is the bulk of GPIO changes for the v3.18 development

 - Increase the default ARCH_NR_GPIO from 256 to 512. This

af7e906954 mfd: axp20x: Extend axp20x to support axp288 pmic
X-Powers AXP288 is a customized PMIC for Intel Baytrail-CR platforms. Similar
to AXP202/209, AXP288 comes with USB charger, more LDO and BUCK channels, and
AD converters. It also provides extended status and interrupt reporting
capabilities than the devices currently supported in axp20x.c.

In addition to feature extension, this patch also adds ACPI binding for
enumeration.

This consolidated driver should support more X-Powers' PMICs in both device
tree and ACPI enumerated platforms.

d86c21fd31 mfd: cros_ec: wait for completion of commands that return IN_PROGRESS
When an EC command returns EC_RES_IN_PROGRESS, we need to query
the state of the EC until it indicates that it is no longer busy.
Do this in cros_ec_cmd_xfer() under the EC's mutex so that other
commands (e.g. keyboard, I2C passtru) aren't issued to the EC while
it is working on the in-progress command.

The 10 milliseconds delay and the number of retries are the values
that were used by the flashrom tool when retrying commands.

Instead of having users of the ChromeOS EC call the interface-specific
cmd_xfer() callback directly, introduce a central cros_ec_cmd_xfer()

659e142be0 mfd: cros_ec: Delay for 50ms when we see EC_CMD_REBOOT_EC
If someone sends a EC_CMD_REBOOT_EC to the EC, the EC will likely be
unresponsive for quite a while.  Add a delay to the end of the command
to prevent random failures of future commands.

NOTES:
* This could be optimized a bit by simply delaying the next command
  sent, but EC_CMD_REBOOT_EC is such a rare command that the extra
  complexity doesn't seem worth it.
* This is a bit of an "ugly hack" since the SPI driver is effectively
  snooping on the communication and making a lot of assumptions.  It
  would be nice to architect in some better solution long term.
* This same logic probably needs to be applied to the i2c driver.

6ab3430129 mfd: Add ACPI support
If an MFD device is backed by ACPI namespace, we should allow subdevice
drivers to access their corresponding ACPI companion devices through normal
means (e.g using ACPI_COMPANION()).

This patch adds such support to the MFD core. If the MFD parent device
does not specify any ACPI _HID/_CID for the child device, the child
device will share the parent ACPI companion device. Otherwise the child
device will be assigned with the corresponding ACPI companion, if found
in the namespace below the parent.

dma_mask and dma_parms are already inherited from the parent device but
dma_coherent_mask was left uninitialized (set to zero thanks to kzalloc).
Set sub-device coherent_dma_mask to its parent value to simplify
sub-drivers making use of dma coherent helper functions (those drivers
currently have to explicitly set the dma coherent mask using
dma_set_coherent_mask function).

fecc4452b9 mfd: twl4030-power: Use 'ti,system-power-controller' as alternative way to support system power off
ti,system-power-controller is more or less the standard way of
indicating that the PMIC is the system wide power controller and hence
may be used to switch off the system. Almost ALL TI PMIC drivers and
many Maxim PMIC drivers follow the same style.

So support 'ti,system-power-controller' in addition to the usual
'ti,use_poweroff' to indicate that the PMIC instance has control for
switching off the system.

Let's define the voltatile registers (those that can't be cached) and
enable caching.  The rk808 is accessed almost constantly with cpufreq
so this is really nice.

As measured by ftrace:

  after this change:  cpu0_set_target() =>  ~500us

cfeb35da2a mfd: arizona: Use handle_simple_irq for IRQ dispatch chip
We use a dummy IRQ chip to dispatch interrupts to the two seperate IRQ
domains on the Arizona devices. This is just a simple software IRQ chip

The stmpe_platform_data has a irq_over_gpio field, which allows the
system to read STMPE events whenever an IRQ occurs on a GPIO pin.

In the resume path, the ADC invokes am335x_tsc_se_set_cache() with 0 as
the steps argument if continous mode is not in use. This in turn disables
all steps and so the TSC is not working until one ADC sampling is
performed.

This patch fixes it by writing the current cached mask instead of the
passed steps.

b24512c860 mfd: lpc_sch: Reduce duplicate code and improve manageability
This patch refactors the driver to use helper functions instead of
copy'n'pasted pieces of code.

It also introduces an additional struct to hold a chipset info. The chipset
info will be used to store features that are supported by specific processor or
chipset. LPC_SCH supports SMBUS, GPIO and WDT features. As this code base might
expand further to support more processors, this implementation will help to
keep code base clean and manageable.

The patch is partially based on the work done by Chang Rebecca Swee Fun.

Current code init regmap with &da9052_regmap_config for both da9052-spi and
da9052-i2c drivers. da9052-spi sets the read_flag_mask.
The same setting may be applied for da9052-i2c if da9052-spi driver is loaded
first because they actually use the same regmap_config setting.
Fix this issue by using a local variable for regmap_config in da9052-spi driver,
so the settings in spi driver won't impact the settings in i2c driver.
Also makes da9052_regmap_config const to avoid similar issue.

Some boards need to set the INn_MODE[1:0] register to change
the input signal patch. This wlf,inmode property is optional.
If present, values must be specified less than or equal to
the number of input singals. If values less than the number
of input signals, elements that has not been specifed are set
to 0 by default.

Example:
   - wlf,inmode = <2 0 2>;	/* IN1, IN3 use DMIC */

6ac734d224 mfd: ti_am335x_tscadc: Fix TSC operation after ADC continouous mode
After enabling and disabling ADC continuous mode via sysfs, ts_print_raw
fails to return any data. This is because when ADC is configured for
continuous mode, it disables touch screen steps.These steps are not
re-enabled when ADC continuous mode is disabled. Therefore existing values
of REG_SE needs to be cached before enabling continuous mode and
disabling touch screen steps and enabling ADC steps. The cached value
are to be restored to REG_SE once ADC is disabled.

  Glitch on SDA-SCL not managed correctly by the I2C IP

Impact:
The standard specifies that the I2C transfer should restart on a start
event in all cases. The current design does not support two consecutive
Start conditions. This can cause the first real access after such a
glitch to be corrupted.

Description:
An unexpected glitch on SDA and SCL can generate a wrong start event.
In the current design, the SCL line must toggle two times to detect a
new start event and completely restart the I2C access; hence the real
start event is not detected in the case of a single SCL toggle.

Workaround:
Repeat I2C access.

A simpler workaround is to make a dummy transfer just before the first
access to the tps65910 chip. This can be done unconditionally.

378515fc10 mfd: da9052-i2c: Remove duplicate test for I2C_FUNC_SMBUS_BYTE_DATA functionality
Since commit b42261078a ("regmap: i2c: fallback to SMBus if the adapter
does not support standard I2C"), regmap-i2c will check the
I2C_FUNC_SMBUS_[BYTE|WORD]_DATA functionality based on the regmap_config
setting if the adapter does not support standard I2C.

So remove the I2C_FUNC_SMBUS_BYTE_DATA functionality check in the driver code.

2a3377ee2d mfd: arizona: Avoid use of legacy IRQ mapping
regmap_add_irq_chip is called from arizona_irq_init with the irq_base
specified as -1 and regmap_add_irq_chip uses if (irq_base) to check if
it should use legacy IRQ mapping. As such the irq mappings are currently
added with irq_domain_add_legacy, rather than irq_domain_add_linear.
This is clearly a typo as there is no reason why this driver can't use
irq_domain_add_linear.

This patch corrects this by passing the irq_base as zero to
regmap_add_irq_chip.

Mark some additional registers as volatile. The write sequencer control
registers should not be cached, as we don't ever want their value
synchronised as this might cause a write sequence to be accidentally
initiated.

Additionally, the DAC_COMP registers require special preconditions to
write so there values wouldn't be updated accurately during a register
sync.

During init the core checks if the wm5102 has finished starting by reading
register 0x19 and looking at the value. This read always fails since this
is not a readable register, mark it as being one. While we're at it provide
a constant for the register name (as supplied by Charles Keepax).
