9404673293 KVM: arm64: timers: Correctly handle TGE flip with CNTPOFF_EL2
Contrary to common belief, HCR_EL2.TGE has a direct and immediate
effect on the way the EL0 physical counter is offset. Flipping
TGE from 1 to 0 while at EL2 immediately changes the way the counter
compared to the CVAL limit.

This means that we cannot directly save/restore the guest's view of
CVAL, but that we instead must treat it as if CNTPOFF didn't exist.
Only in the world switch, once we figure out that we do have CNTPOFF,
can we must the offset back and forth depending on the polarity of
TGE.

0fd7686500 KVM: arm64: Add nPIR{E0}_EL1 to HFG traps
nPIR_EL1 and nPIREO_EL1 are part of the 'reverse polarity' set of bits, set
them so that we disable the traps for a guest. Unfortunately, these bits
are not yet described in the ARM ARM, but only live in the XML description.

Also add them to the NV FGT forwarding infrastructure.

60197a4631 KVM: arm64: pmu: Drop redundant check for non-NULL kvm_pmu_events
There is an allocated and valid struct kvm_pmu_events for each cpu on the
system via DEFINE_PER_CPU(). Hence there cannot be a NULL pointer accessed
via this_cpu_ptr() in the helper kvm_get_pmu_events(). Hence non-NULL check
for pmu in such places are redundant and can be dropped.

The real author is Neil. His patch was posted by Dmitry once and Neil
picked it up from the list and reposted it with the bogus SOB chain.

Not a big deal, but worth to mention. I wanted to fix that up, but

4785aa8028 cpuidle, ACPI: Evaluate LPI arch_flags for broadcast timer
Arm® Functional Fixed Hardware Specification defines LPI states,
which provide an architectural context loss flags field that can
be used to describe the context that might be lost when an LPI
state is entered.

- Core context Lost
        - General purpose registers.
        - Floating point and SIMD registers.
        - System registers, include the System register based
        - generic timer for the core.
        - Debug register in the core power domain.
        - PMU registers in the core power domain.
        - Trace register in the core power domain.
- Trace context loss
- GICR
- GICD

Qualcomm's custom CPUs preserves the architectural state,
including keeping the power domain for local timers active.
when core is power gated, the local timers are sufficient to
wake the core up without needing broadcast timer.

The patch fixes the evaluation of cpuidle arch_flags, and moves only to
broadcast timer if core context lost is defined in ACPI LPI.

6f1bace9a9 arm64: hugetlb: fix set_huge_pte_at() to work with all swap entries
When called with a swap entry that does not embed a PFN (e.g.
PTE_MARKER_POISONED or PTE_MARKER_UFFD_WP), the previous implementation of
set_huge_pte_at() would either cause a BUG() to fire (if CONFIG_DEBUG_VM
is enabled) or cause a dereference of an invalid address and subsequent
panic.

arm64's huge pte implementation supports multiple huge page sizes, some of
which are implemented in the page table with multiple contiguous entries.
So set_huge_pte_at() needs to work out how big the logical pte is, so that
it can also work out how many physical ptes (or pmds) need to be written.
It previously did this by grabbing the folio out of the pte and querying
its size.

However, there are cases when the pte being set is actually a swap entry.
But this also used to work fine, because for huge ptes, we only ever saw
migration entries and hwpoison entries. And both of these types of swap
entries have a PFN embedded, so the code would grab that and everything
still worked out.

But over time, more calls to set_huge_pte_at() have been added that set
swap entry types that do not embed a PFN. And this causes the code to go
bang. The triggering case is for the uffd poison test, commit
99aa77215a ("selftests/mm: add uffd unit test for UFFDIO_POISON"), which
causes a PTE_MARKER_POISONED swap entry to be set, coutesey of commit
8a13897fb0 ("mm: userfaultfd: support UFFDIO_POISON for hugetlbfs") -
added in v6.5-rc7. Although review shows that there are other call sites
that set PTE_MARKER_UFFD_WP (which also has no PFN), these don't trigger
on arm64 because arm64 doesn't support UFFD WP.

Arguably, the root cause is really due to commit 18f3962953 ("mm:
hugetlb: kill set_huge_swap_pte_at()"), which aimed to simplify the
interface to the core code by removing set_huge_swap_pte_at() (which took
a page size parameter) and replacing it with calls to set_huge_pte_at()
where the size was inferred from the folio, as descibed above. While that
commit didn't break anything at the time, it did break the interface
because it couldn't handle swap entries without PFNs. And since then new
callers have come along which rely on this working. But given the
brokeness is only observable after commit 8a13897fb0 ("mm: userfaultfd:
support UFFDIO_POISON for hugetlbfs"), that one gets the Fixes tag.

Now that we have modified the set_huge_pte_at() interface to pass the huge
page size in the previous patch, we can trivially fix this issue.

935d4f0c6d mm: hugetlb: add huge page size param to set_huge_pte_at()
Patch series "Fix set_huge_pte_at() panic on arm64", v2.

This series fixes a bug in arm64's implementation of set_huge_pte_at(),
which can result in an unprivileged user causing a kernel panic. The
problem was triggered when running the new uffd poison mm selftest for
HUGETLB memory. This test (and the uffd poison feature) was merged for
v6.5-rc7.

Ideally, I'd like to get this fix in for v6.6 and I've cc'ed stable
(correctly this time) to get it backported to v6.5, where the issue first
showed up.

Description of Bug
==================

arm64's huge pte implementation supports multiple huge page sizes, some of
which are implemented in the page table with multiple contiguous entries.

If CONFIG_DEBUG_VM is enabled, we do at least get a BUG(), but otherwise,
it will dereference a bad pointer in page_folio():

static inline struct folio *hugetlb_swap_entry_to_folio(swp_entry_t entry)
    {
        VM_BUG_ON(!is_migration_entry(entry) && !is_hwpoison_entry(entry));

        return page_folio(pfn_to_page(swp_offset_pfn(entry)));
    }

Fix
===

The simplest fix would have been to revert the dodgy cleanup commit
18f3962953 ("mm: hugetlb: kill set_huge_swap_pte_at()"), but since
things have moved on, this would have required an audit of all the new
set_huge_pte_at() call sites to see if they should be converted to
set_huge_swap_pte_at(). As per the original intent of the change, it
would also leave us open to future bugs when people invariably get it
wrong and call the wrong helper.

So instead, I've added a huge page size parameter to set_huge_pte_at().
This means that the arm64 code has the size in all cases. It's a bigger
change, due to needing to touch the arches that implement the function,
but it is entirely mechanical, so in my view, low risk.

I've compile-tested all touched arches; arm64, parisc, powerpc, riscv,
s390, sparc (and additionally x86_64). I've additionally booted and run
mm selftests against arm64, where I observe the uffd poison test is fixed,
and there are no other regressions.

This patch (of 2):

In order to fix a bug, arm64 needs to be told the size of the huge page
for which the pte is being set in set_huge_pte_at(). Provide for this by
adding an `unsigned long sz` parameter to the function. This follows the
same pattern as huge_pte_clear().

This commit makes the required interface modifications to the core mm as
well as all arches that implement this function (arm64, parisc, powerpc,
riscv, s390, sparc). The actual arm64 bug will be fixed in a separate
commit.

No behavioral changes intended.

471470bc70 arm64: errata: Add Cortex-A520 speculative unprivileged load workaround
Implement the workaround for ARM Cortex-A520 erratum 2966298. On an
affected Cortex-A520 core, a speculatively executed unprivileged load
might leak data from a privileged load via a cache side channel. The
issue only exists for loads within a translation regime with the same
translation (e.g. same ASID and VMID). Therefore, the issue only affects
the return to EL0.

The workaround is to execute a TLBI before returning to EL0 after all
loads of privileged data. A non-shareable TLBI to any address is
sufficient.

The workaround isn't necessary if page table isolation (KPTI) is
enabled, but for simplicity it will be. Page table isolation should
normally be disabled for Cortex-A520 as it supports the CSV3 feature
and the E0PD feature (used when KASLR is enabled).

the intent is to force people to setup the audio PLL clocks per board

the various audio PLL clocks for audio devices.

This resulted in an incorrect clock rate when attempting to playback

Commit 16c9845248 ("arm64: dts: imx8mp: don't initialize audio clocks
from CCM node") removed the Audio clocks from the main clock node, because
the intent is to force people to setup the audio PLL clocks per board
instead of having a common set of rates, since not all boards may use
the various audio PLL clocks in the same way.

Unfortunately, with this parenting removed, the SDMA2 and SDMA3
clocks were slowed to 24MHz because the SDMA2/3 clocks are controlled
via the audio_blk_ctrl which is clocked from IMX8MP_CLK_AUDIO_ROOT,
and that clock is enabled by pgc_audio.

Per the TRM, "The SDMA2/3 target frequency is 400MHz IPG and 400MHz
AHB, always 1:1 mode, to make sure there is enough throughput for all
the audio use cases."

Instead of cluttering the clock node, place the clock rate and parent
information into the pgc_audio node.

With the parenting and clock rates restored for IMX8MP_CLK_AUDIO_AHB,
and IMX8MP_CLK_AUDIO_AXI_SRC, it appears the SDMA2 and SDMA3 run at
400MHz again.

479965a2b7 arm64: cpufeature: Fix CLRBHB and BC detection
ClearBHB support is indicated by the CLRBHB field in ID_AA64ISAR2_EL1.
Following some refactoring the kernel incorrectly checks the BC field
instead. Fix the detection to use the right field.

(Note: The original ClearBHB support had it as FTR_HIGHER_SAFE, but this
patch uses FTR_LOWER_SAFE, which seems more correct.)

Also fix the detection of BC (hinted conditional branches) to use
FTR_LOWER_SAFE, so that it is not reported on mismatched systems.

373beef00f KVM: arm64: nvhe: Ignore SVE hint in SMCCC function ID
When SVE is enabled, the host may set bit 16 in SMCCC function IDs, a
hint that indicates an unused SVE state. At the moment NVHE doesn't
account for this bit when inspecting the function ID, and rejects most
calls. Clear the hint bit before comparing function IDs.

About version compatibility: the host's PSCI driver initially probes the
firmware for a SMCCC version number. If the firmware implements a
protocol recent enough (1.3), subsequent SMCCC calls have the hint bit
set. Since the hint bit was reserved in earlier versions of the
protocol, clearing it is fine regardless of the version in use.

When a new hint is added to the protocol in the future, it will be added
to ARM_SMCCC_CALL_HINTS and NVHE will handle it straight away. This
patch only clears known hints and leaves reserved bits as is, because
future SMCCC versions could use reserved bits as modifiers for the
function ID, rather than hints.

Marek reports that his RPi4 spits out a warning at boot time,

Upon investigation, it seems that we never return the allocated
VA and use whatever was on the stack at this point. Yes, this

a VA that intersected with something that was already mapped.

Merge patch series "riscv: Introduce KASLR"
Alexandre Ghiti <alexghiti@rivosinc.com> says:

The following KASLR implementation allows to randomize the kernel mapping:

- virtually: we expect the bootloader to provide a seed in the device-tree
- physically: only implemented in the EFI stub, it relies on the firmware to
provide a seed using EFI_RNG_PROTOCOL. arm64 has a similar implementation
hence the patch 3 factorizes KASLR related functions for riscv to take
  advantage.

The new virtual kernel location is limited by the early page table that only
has one PUD and with the PMD alignment constraint, the kernel can only take
< 512 positions.

ab41a97474 arm64/sysreg: Fix broken strncpy() -> strscpy() conversion
Mostafa reports that commit d232606773 ("arm64/sysreg: refactor
deprecated strncpy") breaks our early command-line parsing because the
original code is working on space-delimited substrings rather than
NUL-terminated strings.

Rather than simply reverting the broken conversion patch, replace the
strscpy() with a simple memcpy() with an explicit NUL-termination of the
result.

feec5e1f74 kbuild: Show marked Kconfig fragments in "help"
Currently the Kconfig fragments in kernel/configs and arch/*/configs
that aren't used internally aren't discoverable through "make help",
which consists of hard-coded lists of config fragments. Instead, list
all the fragment targets that have a "# Help: " comment prefix so the
targets can be generated dynamically.

Add logic to the Makefile to search for and display the fragment and
comment. Add comments to fragments that are intended to be direct targets.

The last bit of cleanups from Jiri and the tty structure size reduction
came in last week, a bit late but as they were just style changes and
size reductions, I figured they should get into this merge cycle so that
others can work on top of them with no merge conflicts.

Pull x86 shadow stack support from Dave Hansen:
"This is the long awaited x86 shadow stack support, part of Intel's
  Control-flow Enforcement Technology (CET).

CET consists of two related security features: shadow stacks and
indirect branch tracking. This series implements just the shadow stack
part of this feature, and just for userspace.

The main use case for shadow stack is providing protection against
return oriented programming attacks. It works by maintaining a
secondary (shadow) stack using a special memory type that has
protections against modification. When executing a CALL instruction,
the processor pushes the return address to both the normal stack and
to the special permission shadow stack. Upon RET, the processor pops
the shadow stack copy and compares it to the normal stack copy.

e0fb12c673 KVM/arm64 updates for Linux 6.6
- Add support for TLB range invalidation of Stage-2 page tables,
avoiding unnecessary invalidations. Systems that do not implement
range invalidation still rely on a full invalidation when dealing
   with large ranges.

 - Add infrastructure for forwarding traps taken from a L2 guest to
the L1 guest, with L0 acting as the dispatcher, another baby step
   towards the full nested support.

 - Simplify the way we deal with the (long deprecated) 'CPU target',
resulting in a much needed cleanup.

 - Fix another set of PMU bugs, both on the guest and host sides,
as we seem to never have any shortage of those...

 - Relax the alignment requirements of EL2 VA allocations for
non-stack allocations, as we were otherwise wasting a lot of that
   precious VA space.

 - The usual set of non-functional cleanups, although I note the lack
   of spelling fixes...

0e72db7767 ARM: devicetree updates for 6.6
These are the devicetree updates for Arm and RISC-V based SoCs,
mainly from Qualcomm, NXP/Freescale, Aspeed, TI, Rockchips,
 Samsung, ST and Starfive.

Only a few new SoC got added:

  - TI AM62P5, a variant of the existing Sitara AM62x family

  - Intel Agilex5, an FPGFA platform that includes an
    Cortex-A76/A55 SoC.

  - Qualcomm ipq5018 is used in wireless access points

  - Qualcomm SM4450 (Snapdragon 4 Gen 2) is a new low-end mobile
    phone platform.

In total, 29 machines get added, which is low because of the summer
break. These cover SoCs from Aspeed, Broadcom, NXP, Samsung, ST,
Allwinner, Amlogic, Intel, Qualcomm, Rockchip, TI and T-Head. Most of
these are development and reference boards.

Despite not adding a lot of new machines, there are over 700 patches in
total, most of which are cleanups and minor fixes.

adfd671676 sysctl-6.6-rc1
Long ago we set out to remove the kitchen sink on kernel/sysctl.c arrays and
placings sysctls to their own sybsystem or file to help avoid merge conflicts.
Matthew Wilcox pointed out though that if we're going to do that we might as
well also *save* space while at it and try to remove the extra last sysctl
entry added at the end of each array, a sentintel, instead of bloating the
kernel by adding a new sentinel with each array moved.

Doing that was not so trivial, and has required slowing down the moves of
kernel/sysctl.c arrays and measuring the impact on size by each new move.

The complex part of the effort to help reduce the size of each sysctl is being
done by the patient work of el señor Don Joel Granados. A lot of this is truly
painful code refactoring and testing and then trying to measure the savings of
each move and removing the sentinels. Although Joel already has code which does
most of this work, experience with sysctl moves in the past shows is we need to
be careful due to the slew of odd build failures that are possible due to the
amount of random Kconfig options sysctls use.

To that end Joel's work is split by first addressing the major housekeeping
needed to remove the sentinels, which is part of this merge request. The rest
of the work to actually remove the sentinels will be done later in future
 kernel releases.

At first I was only going to send his first 7 patches of his patch series,
posted 1 month ago, but in retrospect due to the testing the changes have
received in linux-next and the minor changes they make this goes with the
entire set of patches Joel had planned: just sysctl house keeping. There are
networking changes but these are part of the house keeping too.

The preliminary math is showing this will all help reduce the overall build
time size of the kernel and run time memory consumed by the kernel by about
~64 bytes per array where we are able to remove each sentinel in the future.
That also means there is no more bloating the kernel with the extra ~64 bytes
per array moved as no new sentinels are created.

Most of this has been in linux-next for about a month, the last 7 patches took
a minor refresh 2 week ago based on feedback.

symbols grandfather their taint. That was done through year 2020 commit
     262e6ae708 ("modules: inherit TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE"). Christoph's new
fix is done by clarifing __symbol_get() was only ever intended to prevent
module reference loops by Linux kernel modules and so making it only find
symbols exported via EXPORT_SYMBOL_GPL(). The circumvention tactic used
by Nvidia was to use symbol_get() to purposely swift through proprietary
module symbols and completley bypass our traditional EXPORT_SYMBOL*()
annotations and community agreed upon restrictions.

A small set of preamble patches fix up a few symbols which just needed
adjusting for this on two modules, the rtc ds1685 and the networking enetc
module. Two other modules just needed some build fixing and removal of use
of __symbol_get() as they can't ever be modular, as was done by Arnd on
the ARM pxa module and Christoph did on the mmc au1xmmc driver.

This is a good reminder to us that symbol_get() is just a hack to address
things which should be fixed through Kconfig at build time as was done in
the later patches, and so ultimately it should just go.

   * Extremely late minor fix for old module layout 055f23b74b ("module: check
for exit sections in layout_sections() instead of module_init_section()") by
James Morse for arm64. Note that this layout thing is old, it is *not*
Song Liu's commit ac3b432839 ("module: replace module_layout with
module_memory"). The issue however is very odd to run into and so there was
no hurry to get this in fast.

   * Although the fix did not go through the modules tree I'd like to highlight
the fix by Peter Zijlstra in commit 5409730962 ("x86/static_call: Fix
__static_call_fixup()") now merged in your tree which came out of what
was originally suspected to be a fallout of the the newer module layout
changes by Song Liu commit ac3b432839 ("module: replace module_layout
with module_memory") instead of module_init_section()"). Thanks to the report
by Christian Bricart and the debugging by Song Liu & Peter that turned to
be noted as a kernel regression in place since v5.19 through commit
ee88d363d1 ("x86,static_call: Use alternative RET encoding").

I highlight this to reflect and clarify that we haven't seen more fallout
     from ac3b432839 ("module: replace module_layout with module_memory").

   * RISC-V toolchain got mapping symbol support which prefix symbols with "$"
to help with alignment considerations for disassembly. This is used to
differentiate between incompatible instruction encodings when disassembling.
RISC-V just matches what ARM/AARCH64 did for alignment considerations and
Palmer Dabbelt extended is_mapping_symbol() to accept these symbols for
RISC-V. We already had support for this for all architectures but it also
checked for the second character, the RISC-V check Dabbelt added was just
for the "$". After a bit of testing and fallout on linux-next and based on
feedback from Masahiro Yamada it was decided to simplify the check and treat
the first char "$" as unique for all architectures, and so we no make
is_mapping_symbol() for all archs if the symbol starts with "$".

The most relevant commit for this for RISC-V on binutils was:

     https://sourceware.org/pipermail/binutils/2021-July/117350.html

   * A late fix by Andrea Righi (today) to make module zstd decompression use
vmalloc() instead of kmalloc() to account for large compressed modules. I
suspect we'll see similar things for other decompression algorithms soon.
