This branch contains code cleanups, moves and removals for 3.13.
Qualcomm msm targets had a bunch of code removal for legacy non-DT
platforms. Nomadik saw more device tree conversions and cleanup of old
code. Tegra has some code refactoring, etc.
One longish patch series from Sebastian Hasselbarth changes the init_time
hooks and tries to use a generic implementation for most platforms,
since they were all doing more or less the same things.
Finally the "shark" platform is removed in this release. It's been
abandoned for a while and nobody seems to care enough to keep it
around. If someone comes along and wants to resurrect it, the removal
can easily be reverted and code brought back.
Beyond this, mostly a bunch of removals of stale content across the
board, etc.

some clean ups and some patches to use the new generic lru list
code. There is still plenty of scope for some further changes in
due course - faster lookups of quota structures is very much
on the todo list. Also, a start has been made towards the more tricky
issue of using the generic lru code with glocks, but that will
have to be completed in a subsequent merge window.
The other, more minor feature, is that there have been a number of
performance patches which relate to block allocation. In particular
they will improve performance when the disk is nearly full.

Here's the big drivers/staging/ update for 3.13-rc1.
Nothing major here, just a _ton_ of fixes and cleanups, mostly driven by
the new round of OPW applicants, but also there are lots of other people
doing staging tree cleanups these days in order to help get the drivers
into mergable shape.
We also merge, and then revert, the ktap code, as Ingo and the other
perf/ftrace developers feel it should go into the "real" part of the
kernel with only a bit more work, so no need to put it in staging for
now.
All of this has been in linux-next for a while with no reported issues.

Negative message lengths make no sense -- so don't do negative queue

Also change the underlying data types to be unsigned to avoid hairy
surprises with sign extensions in cases where those variables get
evaluated in unsigned expressions with bigger data types, e.g size_t.
In case a user still wants to have "unlimited" sizes she could just use

this_cpu_sub() is implemented as negation and addition.
This patch casts the adjustment to the counter type before negation to
sign extend the adjustment. This helps in cases where the counter type
is wider than an unsigned adjustment. An alternative to this patch is
to declare such operations unsupported, but it seemed useful to avoid
surprises.
This patch specifically helps the following example:
unsigned int delta = 1
preempt_disable()
this_cpu_write(long_counter, 0)
this_cpu_sub(long_counter, delta)
preempt_enable()
Before this change long_counter on a 64 bit machine ends with value
0xffffffff, rather than 0xffffffffffffffff. This is because
this_cpu_sub(pcp, delta) boils down to this_cpu_add(pcp, -delta),
which is basically:
long_counter = 0 + 0xffffffff
Also apply the same cast to:
__this_cpu_sub()
__this_cpu_sub_return()
this_cpu_sub_return()
All percpu_test.ko passes, especially the following cases which
previously failed:
l -= ui_one;
__this_cpu_sub(long_counter, ui_one);
CHECK(l, long_counter, -1);
l -= ui_one;

pr_debug_ratelimited should be coded similarly to dev_dbg_ratelimited
to reduce the "callbacks suppressed" messages.
Add #include <linux/dynamic_debug.h> to printk.h. Unfortunately, this
new #include must be after the prototype/declaration of function printk.
It may be better to split out these _ratelimited declarations into
a separate file one day.
Any use of these pr_<foo>_ratelimited functions must also have another
specific #include <ratelimited.h>. Most users have this done indirectly
via #include <linux/kernel.h>
printk.h may not #include <linux/ratelimit.h> as it causes circular
dependencies and compilation failures.

Pull fs-cache fixes from David Howells:
Can you pull these commits to fix an issue with NFS whereby caching can be
enabled on a file that is open for writing by subsequently opening it for
reading. This can be made to crash by opening it for writing again if you're
quick enough.
The gist of the patchset is that the cookie should be acquired at inode
creation only and subsequently enabled and disabled as appropriate (which
dispenses with the backing objects when they're not needed).
The extra synchronisation that NFS does can then be dispensed with as it is
thenceforth managed by FS-Cache.
Could you send these on to Linus?
This likely will need fixing also in CIFS and 9P also once the FS-Cache
changes are upstream. AFS and Ceph are probably safe.

This patch adds support for multiple security options which can be
specified using a colon-delimited list of security flavors (the same
syntax as nfsd's exports file).
This is useful, for instance, when NFSv4.x mounts cross SECINFO
boundaries. With this patch a user can use "sec=krb5i,krb5p"
to mount a remote filesystem using krb5i, but can still cross
into krb5p-only exports.
New mounts will try all security options before failing. NFSv4.x
SECINFO results will be compared against the sec= flavors to
find the first flavor in both lists or if no match is found will
return -EPERM.

Introduce a mechanism for probing a server to determine if an FSID
is present or absent.
The on-the-wire compound is different between minor version 0 and 1.
Minor version 0 appends a RENEW operation to identify which client
ID is probing. Minor version 1 has a SEQUENCE operation in the
compound which effectively carries the same information.

pointer to a super_block. But we have no way to go back the other

The nfs4_proc_fs_locations() function is invoked during referral
processing to perform a GETATTR(fs_locations) on an object's parent
directory in order to discover the target of the referral. It
performs a LOOKUP in the compound, so the client needs to know the
parent's file handle a priori.
Unfortunately this function is not adequate for handling migration
recovery. We need to probe fs_locations information on an FSID, but
there's no parent directory available for many operations that
can return NFS4ERR_MOVED.
Another subtlety: recovering from NFS4ERR_LEASE_MOVED is a process
of walking over a list of known FSIDs that reside on the server, and
probing whether they have migrated. Once the server has detected
that the client has probed all migrated file systems, it stops
returning NFS4ERR_LEASE_MOVED.
A minor version zero server needs to know what client ID is
requesting fs_locations information so it can clear the flag that
forces it to continue returning NFS4ERR_LEASE_MOVED. This flag is
set per client ID and per FSID. However, the client ID is not an
argument of either the PUTFH or GETATTR operations. Later minor
versions have client ID information embedded in the compound's
SEQUENCE operation.
Therefore, by convention, minor version zero clients send a RENEW
operation in the same compound as the GETATTR(fs_locations), since
RENEW's one argument is a clientid4. This allows a minor version
zero server to identify correctly the client that is probing for a
migration.

On receiving a packet too big icmp error we update the expire value by
calling rt6_update_expires. This function uses dst_set_expires which is
implemented that it can only reduce the expiration value of the dst entry.
If we insert new routing non-expiry information into the ipv6 fib where
we already have a matching rt6_info we only clear the RTF_EXPIRES flag
in rt6i_flags and leave the dst.expires value as is.
When new mtu information arrives for that cached dst_entry we again
call dst_set_expires. This time it won't update the dst.expire value
because we left the dst.expire value intact from the last update. So
dst_set_expires won't touch dst.expires.
Fix this by resetting dst.expires when clearing the RTF_EXPIRE flag.
dst_set_expires checks for a zero expiration and updates the
dst.expires.
In the past this (not updating dst.expires) was necessary because
dst.expire was placed in a union with the dst_entry *from reference
and rt6_clean_expires did assign NULL to it. This split happend in

Make sure rt6i_gateway contains nexthop information in
all routes returned from lookup or when routes are directly
attached to skb for generated ICMP packets.
The effect of this patch should be a faster version of
rt6_nexthop() and the consideration of local addresses as
nexthop.

In v3.9 6fd6ce2056 ("ipv6: Do not depend on rt->n in
ip6_finish_output2()." changed the behaviour of ip6_finish_output2()
such that the recently introduced rt6_nexthop() is used
instead of an assigned neighbor.
As rt6_nexthop() prefers rt6i_gateway only for gatewayed
routes this causes a problem for users like IPVS, xt_TEE and
RAW(hdrincl) if they want to use different address for routing
compared to the destination address.
Another case is when redirect can create RTF_DYNAMIC
route without RTF_GATEWAY flag, we ignore the rt6i_gateway
in rt6_nexthop().
Fix the above problems by considering the rt6i_gateway if
present, so that traffic routed to address on local subnet is
not wrongly diverted to the destination address.

problematic commit.

The create_flow/destroy_flow uverbs and the associated extensions to
the user-kernel verbs ABI are under review and are too experimental to
freeze at this point.
So userspace is not exposed to experimental features and an uinstable
ABI, temporarily disable this for v3.12 (with a Kconfig option behind
staging to reenable it if desired).
The feature will be enabled after proper cleanup for v3.13.

When CONFIG_NETLABEL is disabled, the cipso_v4_validate() function could loop
forever in the main loop if opt[opt_iter +1] == 0, this will causing a kernel
crash in an SMP system, since the CPU executing this function will
stall /not respond to IPIs.
This problem can be reproduced by running the IP Stack Integrity Checker
(http://isic.sourceforge.net) using the following command on a Linux machine
connected to DUT:
"icmpsic -s rand -d <DUT IP address> -r 123456"

Hi Greg,
Here's my pull request for usb-next and 3.13. My xHCI tree is closed
after this point, since I won't be able to run my full tests while I'm in
Scotland. After Kernel Summit, I'll be on vacation with access to email
from Oct 26th to Nov 6th.
Here's what's in this request:
- Patches to fix USB 2.0 Link PM issues that cause USB 3.0 devices to not
enumerate or misbehave when plugged into a USB 2.0 port. Those are
marked for stable.
- A msec vs jiffies bug fix by xiao jin, which results in fairly harmless
behavior, and thus isn't marked for stable.
- Xenia's patches to refactor the xHCI command handling code, which makes
it much more readable and consistent.
- Misc cleanup patches, one by Sachin Kamat and three from Dan Williams.
Here's what's not in this request:
- Dan's two patches to allow the xHCI host to use the "Windows" or "new"
enumeration scheme. I did not have time to test those, and I want to
run them with as many USB devices as I can get a hold of. That will
have to wait for 3.14.
- Xenia's patches to remove xhci_readl in favor of readl. I'll queue
those for 3.14 after I test them.
- The xHCI streams update, UAS fixes, and usbfs streams support. I'm not
comfortable with changes and fixes to that patchset coming in this late.
I would rather wait for 3.14 and be really sure the streams support is
stable before we add new userspace API and remove CONFIG_BROKEN from the
uas driver.
- Julius' patch to clear the port reset bit on hub resume that came in
a couple days ago. It looks harmless, but I would rather take the time
to test and queue it for usb-linus and the stable trees once 3.13-rc1
is out.

Do not overwrite the multi-byte fields of usb_wa_descriptor with their
cpu format values after reading the descriptor. Leave the values as
__le16 and swap on use. This is more consistent with other uses of USB

- intel_pstate fix for misbehavior after system resume if sysfs
attributes are set in a specific way before the corresponding
suspend from Dirk Brandewie.
- A recent intel_pstate fix has no effect if unsigned long is 32-bit,
so fix it up to cover that case as well.
- The s3c64xx cpufreq driver was not updated when the index field of
struct cpufreq_frequency_table was replaced with driver_data, so
update it now. From Charles Keepax.
- The Kconfig help text for ACPI_BUTTON still refers to /proc/acpi/event
that has been dropped recently, so modify it to remove that reference.
From Krzysztof Mazur.
- A Lan Tianyu's change adds a missing mutex unlock to an error code
path in acpi_resume_power_resources().
- Some code related to ACPI power resources, whose very purpose is
questionable to put it lightly, turns out to cause problems to
happen during testing on real systems, so remove it completely
(we may revisit that in the future if there's a compelling enough
reason). From Rafael J Wysocki and Aaron Lu.
