f7d7ccf92f ACPI: bus: Add acpi_riscv_init() function
Add a new function for RISC-V to do architecture specific initialization
similar to acpi_arm_init(). Some of the ACPI tables are architecture
specific and there is no reason trying to find them on other
architectures. So, add acpi_riscv_init() similar to acpi_arm_init().

c2a96b7f18 Driver core changes for 6.11-rc1
Here is the big set of driver core changes for 6.11-rc1.

Lots of stuff in here, with not a huge diffstat, but apis are evolving
which required lots of files to be touched. Highlights of the changes
 in here are:
   - platform remove callback api final fixups (Uwe took many releases to
     get here, finally!)
   - Rust bindings for basic firmware apis and initial driver-core
interactions. It's not all that useful for a "write a whole driver
in rust" type of thing, but the firmware bindings do help out the
phy rust drivers, and the driver core bindings give a solid base on
which others can start their work. There is still a long way to go
here before we have a multitude of rust drivers being added, but
     it's a great first step.
   - driver core const api changes. This reached across all bus types,
and there are some fix-ups for some not-common bus types that
linux-next and 0-day testing shook out. This work is being done to
help make the rust bindings more safe, as well as the C code, moving
toward the end-goal of allowing us to put driver structures into
read-only memory. We aren't there yet, but are getting closer.
   - minor devres cleanups and fixes found by code inspection
   - arch_topology minor changes
   - other minor driver core cleanups

All of these have been in linux-next for a very long time with no
 reported problems.

d69d804845 driver core: have match() callback in struct bus_type take a const *
In the match() callback, the struct device_driver * should not be
changed, so change the function callback to be a const *. This is one
step of many towards making the driver core safe to have struct
device_driver in read-only memory.

Because the match() callback is in all busses, all busses are modified
to handle this properly. This does entail switching some container_of()
calls to container_of_const() to properly handle the constant *.

For some busses, like PCI and USB and HV, the const * is cast away in
the match callback as those busses do want to modify those structures at
this point in time (they have a local lock in the driver structure.)
That will have to be changed in the future if they wish to have their
struct device * in read-only-memory.

d4aa921eb8 ACPI: scan: Avoid enumerating devices with clearly invalid _STA values
The return value of _STA with the "present" bit unset and the "enabled"
bit set is clearly invalid as per the ACPI specification, Section 6.3.7
"_STA (Device Status)", so make the ACPI device enumeration code
disregard devices with such _STA return values.

Also, because this implies that status.enabled will only be set if
status.present is set too, acpi_device_is_enabled() can be modified
to simply return the value of the former.

48b9c4862b ACPI: store owner from modules with acpi_bus_register_driver()
Modules registering driver with acpi_bus_register_driver() often forget to
set .owner field. The field is used by some of other kernel parts for
reference counting (try_module_get()), so it is expected that drivers
will set it.

Solve the problem by moving this task away from the drivers to the core
ACPI bus code, just like we did for platform_driver in
commit 9447057eaf ("platform_device: use a macro instead of
platform_driver_register").

6d392d8daa ACPI: Run USB4 _OSC() first with query bit set
The platform can deny certain tunneling from the OS and it does that by
clearing the control bits it does not want the OS to get and returning
with OSC_CAPABILITIES_MASK_ERROR bit set. Currently we do not handle
this properly so if this happens, for example when the platform denies
PCIe tunneling, we just fail the whole negotiation and revert back to
what the Thunderbolt driver is doing to figure out whether the
controller is running firmware connection manager or not. However, we
should honor what the platform returns.

For this reason run the USB4 _OSC() first with query bit set, and then
use the returned control double word (that may contain some of the bits
cleared by the platform) and run it second time with query bit clear.

While there, remove an extra space from the assignment of the control
double word.

Add void *context arrgument to the list of arguments of

Also make it run acpi_processor_osc() for every processor object or

Introduce a new function called acpi_early_processor_control_setup() that
will invoke acpi_early_processor_osc() first in order to convey the OS
processor support information to the platform firmware and if that fails,

Introduce new functions acpi_dev_install_notify_handler() and
acpi_dev_remove_notify_handler(), to install and remove, respectively,

object. They will allow drivers to install Notify() handlers directly
instead of providing an ACPI driver .notify() callback to be invoked
in the context of a Notify() handler installed by the ACPI bus type

Notify() handlers for the ACPI companions of the platform devices
they bind to.

These functions are replacements for acpi_device_install_notify_handler()

Currently, acpi_device_remove_notify_handler() may return while the

673aa1ed1c of: Rename of_modalias_node()
This helper does not produce a real modalias, but tries to get the
"product" compatible part of the "vendor, product" compatibles only. It
is far from creating a purely useful modalias string and does not seem
to be used like that directly anyway, so let's try to give this helper a
more meaningful name before moving there a real modalias helper (already
existing under of/device.c).

Also update the various documentations to refer to the strings as
"aliases" rather than "modaliases" which has a real meaning in the Linux
kernel.

There is no functional change.

c56610a869 ACPI: bus: Rework system-level device notification handling
For ACPI drivers that provide a ->notify() callback and set
ACPI_DRIVER_ALL_NOTIFY_EVENTS in their flags, that callback can be
invoked while either the ->add() or the ->remove() callback is running
without any synchronization at the bus type level which is counter to
the common-sense expectation that notification handling should only be
enabled when the driver is actually bound to the device. As a result,
if the driver is not careful enough, it's ->notify() callback may crash
when it is invoked too early or too late [1].

This issue has been amplified by commit d6fb6ee182 ("ACPI: bus: Drop
driver member of struct acpi_device") that made acpi_bus_notify() check
for the presence of the driver and its ->notify() callback directly
instead of using an extra driver pointer that was only set and cleared
by the bus type code, but it was present before that commit although
it was harder to reproduce then.

It can be addressed by using the observation that
acpi_device_install_notify_handler() can be modified to install the
handler for all types of events when ACPI_DRIVER_ALL_NOTIFY_EVENTS is
set in the driver flags, in which case acpi_bus_notify() will not need
to invoke the driver's ->notify() callback any more and that callback
will only be invoked after acpi_device_install_notify_handler() has run
and before acpi_device_remove_notify_handler() runs, which implies the
correct ordering with respect to the other ACPI driver callbacks.

Modify the code accordingly and while at it, drop two redundant local
variables from acpi_bus_notify() and turn its description comment into
a proper kerneldoc one.

d7d4332155 ACPI: bus: Fix the _OSC capability check for FFH OpRegion
As per the ACPI specification(vide section Platform-Wide OSPM Capabilities)
the OSPM must set this bit to indicate support for the usage of Functional

e81c782c16 ACPI: Implement a generic FFH Opregion handler
This registers the FFH OpRegion handler before ACPI tables are
loaded. The platform support for the same is checked via Platform-Wide
OSPM Capabilities(OSC) before registering the OpRegion handler.

It relies on the special context data passed to offset and the length.
However the interpretation of the values is platform/architecture
specific. This generic handler just passed all the information to
the platform/architecture specific callback. It also implements the
default callbacks which return as not supported.

6251d38059 ACPI: ARM Performance Monitoring Unit Table (APMT) initial support
ARM Performance Monitoring Unit Table describes the properties of PMU
support in ARM-based system. The APMT table contains a list of nodes,
each represents a PMU in the system that conforms to ARM CoreSight PMU
architecture. The properties of each node include information required
to access the PMU (e.g. MMIO base address, interrupt number) and also
identification. For more detailed information, please refer to the
specification below:
 * APMT: https://developer.arm.com/documentation/den0117/latest
 * ARM Coresight PMU:
        https://developer.arm.com/documentation/ihi0091/latest

The initial support adds the detection of APMT table and generic
infrastructure to create platform devices for ARM CoreSight PMUs.
Similar to IORT the root pointer of APMT is preserved during runtime
and each PMU platform device is given a pointer to the corresponding
APMT node.

d60b6b0bc0 Merge branch 'acpi-bus'
Merge ACPI device object management changes for v5.20-rc1.

 - Use the facilities provided by the driver core and some additional
helpers to handle the children of a given ACPI device object in
multiple places instead of using the children and node list heads in
struct acpi_device which is error prone (Rafael Wysocki).

 - Fix ACPI-related device reference counting issue in the hisi_lpc bus
   driver (Yang Yingliang).

 - Drop the children and node list heads that are not needed any more
   from struct acpi_device (Rafael Wysocki).

 - Drop driver member from struct acpi_device (Uwe Kleine-König).

 - Drop redundant check from acpi_device_remove() (Uwe Kleine-König).

* acpi-bus:
ACPI: bus: Drop unused list heads from struct acpi_device
  hisi_lpc: Use acpi_dev_for_each_child()
  bus: hisi_lpc: fix missing platform_device_put() in hisi_lpc_acpi_probe()
ACPI: bus: Drop driver member of struct acpi_device
ACPI: bus: Drop redundant check in acpi_device_remove()

e8bba72b39 irqchip / ACPI: Introduce ACPI_IRQ_MODEL_LPIC for LoongArch
For LoongArch, ACPI_IRQ_MODEL_LPIC is introduced, and then the
callback acpi_get_gsi_domain_id and acpi_gsi_to_irq_fallback are
implemented.

The acpi_get_gsi_domain_id callback returns related fwnode handle
of irqdomain for different GSI range.

The acpi_gsi_to_irq_fallback will create new mapping for gsi when
the mapping of it is not found.
