The ATF on the i.MX8MQ device disables all non-essential power
domains. For correct on-SoC peripheral operation we need both
the power domain driver and generic domains, so device driver
probe gets ordered behind the power domain controller driver.
Select those options, as those being absent can lead to very
hard to debug failures.

- I mis-tagged the 'drivers' branch, and missed 3 patches. Merged in
here. They're for a driver for the PL353 SRAM controller and a build
fix for the qualcomm scm driver.
- A new platform, RDA Micro RDA8810PL (Cortex-A5 w/ integrated Vivante

arch/arm64/Kconfig.platforms has SoC-specific Kconfig symbols for
Renesas SoCs, while other vendors have only a single Kconfig symbol.
Increase consistency with other vendors by moving the SoC-specific
Kconfig symbols to drivers/soc/renesas/Kconfig.
Increase consistency with R-Car Gen1 and Gen2 SoCs on arm32 by
introducing a family-specific Kconfig symbol for R-Car Gen3
(ARCH_RCAR_GEN3), which enables family-specific hardware features.
While so far only a single family (R-Car Gen3 and derivatives) of
Renesas arm64 SoCs is supported by Linux, this will make it easier
to add support for other SoC families later.

The R-Car GPIO driver cannot be enabled when Renesas SoC's ARCH configs
(ARCH_RENESAS, ARCH_R8A7795, ARCH_R8A7796 and ARCH_R8A77965) are enabled
only.
As GPIOs are a critical resource for proper operation on Renesas
platforms, this patch selects GPIOLIB, just like is done for other SoC
vendors, and on Renesas arm32 SoCs.

Firmware driver provides an interface to firmware APIs.
Interface APIs can be used by any driver to communicate to
PMUFW(Platform Management Unit). All requests go through ATF.

Renesas R-Car gen3 SoCs have both CMT and TMU timers, so we have to enable
building them in Kconfig.platforms (as they don't normally have the prompts
in Kconfig).

The Kconfig symbol for Renesas 64-bit ARM SoCs has always been
ARCH_RENESAS, with ARCH_SHMOBILE being selected to reuse drivers shared
with Renesas 32-bit ARM and/or Renesas SuperH SH-Mobile SoCs.
Commit 9b5ba0df4e ("ARM: shmobile: Introduce ARCH_RENESAS")
started the conversion from ARCH_SHMOBILE to ARCH_RENESAS for Renesas
32-bit SoCs. Now all drivers for Renesas ARM SoCs have gained proper
ARCH_RENESAS platform dependencies, there is no longer a need to select
ARCH_SHMOBILE.
With ARCH_SHMOBILE gone, move the ARCH_RENESAS section up, to restore
alphabetical sort order.

The Socionext Synquacer SoC has an external interrupt unit (EXIU)
that forwards a block of 32 configurable input lines to 32 adjacent
level-high type GICv3 SPIs.
The EXIU has per-interrupt level/edge and polarity controls, and
mask bits that keep the outgoing lines de-asserted, even though
the controller may still latch interrupt conditions that occur
while the line is masked.

Andreas Färber adds two new platforms with initial code: Realtek RTD1295
and Action Semi S900. Both are fairly similar chips, used mainly in
set-top-boxes, but with other possible applications, and additional
members in the respective product families that could be added in the
future. The code here is fairly minimal, as all the interesting parts
are in device drivers and dts files.
The Broadcom Vulcan platform gets dropped, as no products ever became
available, and Cavium integrated the platform under a new name.
Among some other defconfig changes, Timur Tabi enables a number of
options that are typically required for server platforms.

As the pinctrl driver selecting is refactored in Kconfig file of
pinctrl-sunxi, now we can select only PINCTRL for Allwinner platform,
and the default value of several pinctrl drivers useful on ARM64
Allwinner SoCs will become Y.
This is the situation of 32-bit ARM ARCH_SUNXI option.
Drop the select of per-SoC pinctrl choices, but keep selecting PINCTRL.

Driver updates for ARM SoCs, including a couple of newly added drivers:

- Support for the prerelease "SCPI" firmware protocol that ended up
being shipped by Amlogic in their GXBB SoC.
- A soc_device can now be matched using a glob from inside the
kernel, when another driver wants to know the specific chip
it is running on and cannot find out from DT, firmware or hardware.
- Renesas SoCs now support identification through the soc_device
interface, both in user space and kernel.
- Renesas r8a7743 and r8a7745 gain support for their system controller
- A new checking module for the ARM "PSCI" (not to be confused
with "SCPI" mentioned above) firmware interface.
- A new driver for the Tegra GMI memory interface
- Support for the Tegra firmware interfaces with their
power management controllers
As usual, the updates for the reset controller framework are merged
here, as they tend to touch multiple SoCs as well, including a new

the SoC bus, so it is available under /sys/devices/soc0/, and can be
checked where needed using soc_device_match().
Identification is done using the Product Register or Common Chip Code
Register, as declared in DT (PRR only for now), or using a hardcoded
fallback if missing.

While debugging a kernel image size issue, I discovered that if all
non ARCH_QCOM configs in the ARM64 defconfig are disabled, the QCOM
pinctrl drivers will not be built.
The QCOM pinctrl drivers have a dependency on GPIOLIB which was being
selected when other ARCH configs were enabled, but ARCH_QCOM doesn't
select GPIOLIB directly. Let's select GPIOLIB here to ensure the pinctrl
drivers are built for QCOM platforms.

archs. After some struggle it even work on UM. Not that it has
GPIO, but if it wants to, it can select the library.
- Continued efforts to make drivers properly either tristate or

- Introduce a warning for drivers assigning default triggers to
their irqchip lines when probed from device tree, so we find and
fix these ambigous drivers. It is agreed that in the OF config
path, the device tree defines trigger characteristics.
- The same warning, mutatis mutandis, for ACPI-probed GPIO
irqchips.
- We introduce the ability to mark certain IRQ lines as "unusable"
as they can be taken by BIOS/firmware, unrouted in silicon and
generally nasty if you use them, and such things. This is
put to good use in the STMPE driver and also in the Cherryview
pin control driver.
- A new "mockup" virtual GPIO device that can be used for testing.
The plan is to add unit tests under tools/* for exercising this
device and verify that the kernel code paths are working as they

The pinctrl driver is essential for the Allwinner SoCs to work.
Add the driver's config symbol to the Kconfig entry to always compile
it in. We can't use the arm approach to make the _driver's_ Kconfig
symbol def_bool, because we lack the MACH_* symbols in arm64.
That line was in the original pinctrl driver patch, but got removed
to avoid the dependency on the Kconfig patch [1].
Also add the general PINCTRL symbol, which isn't selected automatically
for the same reason.

The Linux AMBA bus framework probes the peripheral IDs when adding the
AMBA devices very early on the boot. Generally they are on APB bus and
just require APB clocks to be on even when most of the core logic of the
IP is powered down.
However on Juno, the entire debugsys domain needs to be ON to access
even the coresight components' CID/PID registers and hence broken by
design. Accessing those while debugsys power domain is off will lead to
the bridge stalling the transactions instead of returning the slave error.
Further, the AMBA framework can't deal with !CONFIG_PM_GENERIC_DOMAINS
case: it ignores the error and proceeds to access the device region.
It was suggested to always enable CONFIG_PM{,_GENERIC_DOMAINS} in order
to handle above explained scenario.

Recently some Exynos drivers were moved from arm/mach-exynos to
drivers/soc. Building the directory depends on SOC_SAMSUNG Kconfig
option so we want it also on ARMv8 platforms, even though none of the
drivers support ARMv8 SoCs yet.

The ARMv8 Exynos family SoCs in Linux kernel are currently:
- Exynos5433 (controlled by ARCH_EXYNOS),
- Exynos7 (controlled by ARCH_EXYNOS7).
It duplicates Kconfig symbols unnecessarily, so consolidate them into
one ARCH_EXYNOS. Future SoCs could fall also under the ARCH_EXYNOS
symbol.
The commit should not bring any visible functional change.

Add a configuration option and a device tree for Broadcom's Vulcan
ARM64 processor. vulcan.dtsi has the on-chip blocks like the PCIe
controller, GICv3 with ITS, PMU, system timer and the pl011 UART.
vulcan-eval.dts has definitions for a basic evaluation board.
Vulcan's processor cores support the ARMv8.1 instruction set and
will use "brcm,vulcan" as the compatible property. The firmware
has PSCI 0.2 support for cpu wakeup.

All supported Renesas ARM64 SoCs have clock and power domains. To ensure
proper operation of on-SoC modules, module clocks must be ungated, and
power domains must be powered up when needed.
Currently the user can choose to build a kernel with power management
enabled or disabled:
- If CONFIG_PM=y, power domains and/or module clocks are handled
dynamically by Runtime PM and the generic power domain.
- If CONFIG_PM=n, power domains are assumed to be powered up by reset
state or by the boot loader, and module clocks are handled by the
legacy clock domain on driver (un)bind.
The latter is implemented using a platform bus notifier, which
applies not only to all on-SoC devices, but to all platform devices
present in the system.
To remove the dependency on implicit assumptions, and to get rid of the
peculiarities of the legacy clock domain, enable CONFIG_PM and
CONFIG_PM_GENERIC_DOMAINS unconditionally.

Move per-SoC generation Kconfig symbols to drivers/soc/tegra/Kconfig to
gather them all in a single place. This directory is a natural location
for these options since it already contains the drivers that are shared
across 32-bit and 64-bit ARM architectures.

Freescale will be a spinning-out a set of ARMv8 based SoCs which
will be based on a similar overall SoC architecture. So, this patch
converts the existing infrastructure in the arm64/dts, arm64/Kconfig
and arm64/configs to use the generic convention ARCH_LAYERSCAPE
in place of the more specific FSL_LS2085A, to save code duplication
later-on.
