Networking changes for 6.5.
Core ---- - Rework the sendpage & splice implementations. Instead of feeding data into sockets page by page extend sendmsg handlers to support taking a reference on the data, controlled by a new flag called MSG_SPLICE_PAGES. Rework the handling of unexpected-end-of-file to invoke an additional callback instead of trying to predict what the right combination of MORE/NOTLAST flags is. Remove the MSG_SENDPAGE_NOTLAST flag completely. - Implement SCM_PIDFD, a new type of CMSG type analogous to SCM_CREDENTIALS, but it contains pidfd instead of plain pid. - Enable socket busy polling with CONFIG_RT. - Improve reliability and efficiency of reporting for ref_tracker. - Auto-generate a user space C library for various Netlink families. Protocols --------- - Allow TCP to shrink the advertised window when necessary, prevent sk_rcvbuf auto-tuning from growing the window all the way up to tcp_rmem[2]. - Use per-VMA locking for "page-flipping" TCP receive zerocopy. - Prepare TCP for device-to-device data transfers, by making sure that payloads are always attached to skbs as page frags. - Make the backoff time for the first N TCP SYN retransmissions linear. Exponential backoff is unnecessarily conservative. - Create a new MPTCP getsockopt to retrieve all info (MPTCP_FULL_INFO). - Avoid waking up applications using TLS sockets until we have a full record. - Allow using kernel memory for protocol ioctl callbacks, paving the way to issuing ioctls over io_uring. - Add nolocalbypass option to VxLAN, forcing packets to be fully encapsulated even if they are destined for a local IP address. - Make TCPv4 use consistent hash in TIME_WAIT and SYN_RECV. Ensure in-kernel ECMP implementation (e.g. Open vSwitch) select the same link for all packets. Support L4 symmetric hashing in Open vSwitch. - PPPoE: make number of hash bits configurable. - Allow DNS to be overwritten by DHCPACK in the in-kernel DHCP client (ipconfig). - Add layer 2 miss indication and filtering, allowing higher layers (e.g. ACL filters) to make forwarding decisions based on whether packet matched forwarding state in lower devices (bridge). - Support matching on Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) packets. - Hide the "link becomes ready" IPv6 messages by demoting their printk level to debug. - HSR: don't enable promiscuous mode if device offloads the proto. - Support active scanning in IEEE 802.15.4. - Continue work on Multi-Link Operation for WiFi 7. BPF --- - Add precision propagation for subprogs and callbacks. This allows maintaining verification efficiency when subprograms are used, or in fact passing the verifier at all for complex programs, especially those using open-coded iterators. - Improve BPF's {g,s}setsockopt() length handling. Previously BPF assumed the length is always equal to the amount of written data. But some protos allow passing a NULL buffer to discover what the output buffer *should* be, without writing anything. - Accept dynptr memory as memory arguments passed to helpers. - Add routing table ID to bpf_fib_lookup BPF helper. - Support O_PATH FDs in BPF_OBJ_PIN and BPF_OBJ_GET commands. - Drop bpf_capable() check in BPF_MAP_FREEZE command (used to mark maps as read-only). - Show target_{obj,btf}_id in tracing link fdinfo. - Addition of several new kfuncs (most of the names are self-explanatory): - Add a set of new dynptr kfuncs: bpf_dynptr_adjust(), bpf_dynptr_is_null(), bpf_dynptr_is_rdonly(), bpf_dynptr_size() and bpf_dynptr_clone(). - bpf_task_under_cgroup() - bpf_sock_destroy() - force closing sockets - bpf_cpumask_first_and(), rework bpf_cpumask_any*() kfuncs Netfilter --------- - Relax set/map validation checks in nf_tables. Allow checking presence of an entry in a map without using the value. - Increase ip_vs_conn_tab_bits range for 64BIT builds. - Allow updating size of a set. - Improve NAT tuple selection when connection is closing. Driver API ---------- - Integrate netdev with LED subsystem, to allow configuring HW "offloaded" blinking of LEDs based on link state and activity (i.e. packets coming in and out). - Support configuring rate selection pins of SFP modules. - Factor Clause 73 auto-negotiation code out of the drivers, provide common helper routines. - Add more fool-proof helpers for managing lifetime of MDIO devices associated with the PCS layer. - Allow drivers to report advanced statistics related to Time Aware scheduler offload (taprio). - Allow opting out of VF statistics in link dump, to allow more VFs to fit into the message. - Split devlink instance and devlink port operations. This causes memory corruption. Instead, we either use (a) filemap_splice_read(), which invokes the buffered file reading code and splices from the pagecache into the pipe; (b) copy_splice_read(), which bulk-allocates a buffer, reads into it and then pushes the filled pages into the pipe; or (c) handle it in filesystem-specific code. Summary: - Rename direct_splice_read() to copy_splice_read() - Simplify the calculations for the number of pages to be reclaimed in copy_splice_read() - Turn do_splice_to() into a helper, vfs_splice_read(), so that it can be used by overlayfs and coda to perform the checks on the lower fs - Make vfs_splice_read() jump to copy_splice_read() to handle direct-I/O and DAX - Provide shmem with its own splice_read to handle non-existent pages in the pagecache. We don't want a ->read_folio() as we don't want to populate holes, but filemap_get_pages() requires it - Provide overlayfs with its own splice_read to call down to a lower layer as overlayfs doesn't provide ->read_folio() - Provide coda with its own splice_read to call down to a lower layer as coda doesn't provide ->read_folio() - Direct ->splice_read to copy_splice_read() in tty, procfs, kernfs and random files as they just copy to the output buffer and don't splice pages - Provide wrappers for afs, ceph, ecryptfs, ext4, f2fs, nfs, ntfs3, ocfs2, orangefs, xfs and zonefs to do locking and/or revalidation - Make cifs use filemap_splice_read() - Replace pointers to generic_file_splice_read() with pointers to filemap_splice_read() as DIO and DAX are handled in the caller; filesystems can still provide their own alternate ->splice_read() op - Remove generic_file_splice_read() - Remove ITER_PIPE and its paraphernalia as generic_file_splice_read was the only user" * tag 'for-6.5/splice-2023-06-23' of git://git.kernel.dk/linux: (31 commits) splice: kdoc for filemap_splice_read() and copy_splice_read() iov_iter: Kill ITER_PIPE splice: Remove generic_file_splice_read() splice: Use filemap_splice_read() instead of generic_file_splice_read() cifs: Use filemap_splice_read() trace: Convert trace/seq to use copy_splice_read() zonefs: Provide a splice-read wrapper xfs: Provide a splice-read wrapper orangefs: Provide a splice-read wrapper ocfs2: Provide a splice-read wrapper ntfs3: Provide a splice-read wrapper nfs: Provide a splice-read wrapper f2fs: Provide a splice-read wrapper ext4: Provide a splice-read wrapper ecryptfs: Provide a splice-read wrapper ceph: Provide a splice-read wrapper afs: Provide a splice-read wrapper 9p: Add splice_read wrapper net: Make sock_splice_read() use copy_splice_read() by default tty, proc, kernfs, random: Use copy_splice_read() ... |

ocfs2: Fix use of slab data with sendpage
ocfs2 uses kzalloc() to allocate buffers for o2net_hand, o2net_keep_req and
o2net_keep_resp and then passes these to sendpage. This isn't really
allowed as the lifetime of slab objects is not controlled by page ref -
though in this case it will probably work. sendmsg() with MSG_SPLICE_PAGES
will, however, print a warning and give an error.
Fix it to use folio_alloc() instead to allocate a buffer for the handshake
message, keepalive request and reply messages.

(2) POSIX ACLs are only available if IOP_XATTR is raised. The IOP_XATTR flag is raised in inode_init_always() based on whether the sb->s_xattr pointer is non-NULL. IOW, the registered xattr handlers of the filesystem are used to raise IOP_XATTR. Removing the generic POSIX ACL xattr handlers from all filesystems would risk regressing filesystems that only implement POSIX ACL support and no other xattrs (nfs3 comes to mind). This contains the work to decouple POSIX ACLs from the IOP_XATTR flag as they don't depend on xattr handlers anymore. So it's now possible to remove the generic POSIX ACL xattr handlers from the sb->s_xattr list of all filesystems. This is a crucial step as the generic POSIX ACL xattr handlers aren't used for POSIX ACLs anymore and POSIX ACLs don't depend on the xattr infrastructure anymore. Adressing problem (1) will require more long-term work. It would be best to get rid of the ->list() method of xattr handlers completely at some point. For erofs, ext{2,4}, f2fs, jffs2, ocfs2, and reiserfs the nop POSIX ACL xattr handler is kept around so they can continue to use array-based xattr handler indexing. In keeping with current kernel conventions, this moves all of these comment blocks to the top of the function definitions, transforming them into the kdoc format in the process. This should make it much easier to maintain these comments, which are the main source of LSM hook documentation. For the most part the comment contents were left as-is, although some glaring errors were corrected. Expect additional edits in the future as we slowly update and correct the comment blocks. This is the bulk of the diffstat. - Introduce LSM_ORDER_LAST Similar to how LSM_ORDER_FIRST is used to specify LSMs which should be ordered before "normal" LSMs, the LSM_ORDER_LAST is used to specify LSMs which should be ordered after "normal" LSMs. This is one of the prerequisites for transitioning IMA/EVM to a proper LSM. - Remove the security_old_inode_init_security() hook The security_old_inode_init_security() LSM hook only allows for a single xattr which is problematic both for LSM stacking and the IMA/EVM-as-a-LSM effort. This finishes the conversion over to the security_inode_init_security() hook and removes the single-xattr LSM hook. - Fix a reiserfs problem with security xattrs During the security_old_inode_init_security() removal work it became clear that reiserfs wasn't handling security xattrs properly so we fixed it. * tag 'lsm-pr-20230420' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/pcmoore/lsm: (32 commits) reiserfs: Add security prefix to xattr name in reiserfs_security_write() security: Remove security_old_inode_init_security() ocfs2: Switch to security_inode_init_security() reiserfs: Switch to security_inode_init_security() security: Remove integrity from the LSM list in Kconfig Revert "integrity: double check iint_cache was initialized" security: Introduce LSM_ORDER_LAST and set it for the integrity LSM device_cgroup: Fix typo in devcgroup_css_alloc description lsm: fix a badly named parameter in security_get_getsecurity() lsm: fix doc warnings in the LSM hook comments lsm: styling fixes to security/security.c lsm: move the remaining LSM hook comments to security/security.c lsm: move the io_uring hook comments to security/security.c lsm: move the perf hook comments to security/security.c lsm: move the bpf hook comments to security/security.c lsm: move the audit hook comments to security/security.c lsm: move the binder hook comments to security/security.c lsm: move the sysv hook comments to security/security.c lsm: move the key hook comments to security/security.c lsm: move the xfrm hook comments to security/security.c ... |

In preparation for removing security_old_inode_init_security(), switch to security_inode_init_security(). Extend the existing ocfs2_initxattrs() to take the ocfs2_security_xattr_info structure from fs_info, and populate the name/value/len triple with the first xattr provided by LSMs. As fs_info was not used before, ocfs2_initxattrs() can now handle the case of replicating the behavior of security_old_inode_init_security(), i.e. just obtaining the xattr, in addition to setting all xattrs provided by LSMs. Supporting multiple xattrs is not currently supported where security_old_inode_init_security() was called (mknod, symlink), as it requires non-trivial changes that can be done at a later time. Like for reiserfs, even if EVM is invoked, it will not provide an xattr (if it is not the first to set it, its xattr will be discarded; if it is the first, it does not have xattrs to calculate the HMAC on). Finally, since security_inode_init_security(), unlike security_old_inode_init_security(), returns zero instead of -EOPNOTSUPP if no xattrs were provided by LSMs or if inodes are private, additionally check in ocfs2_init_security_get() if the xattr name is set. If not, act as if security_old_inode_init_security() returned -EOPNOTSUPP, and set si->enable to zero to notify to the functions following ocfs2_init_security_get() that no xattrs are available. ocfs2: fix data corruption after failed write
When buffered write fails to copy data into underlying page cache page,
ocfs2_write_end_nolock() just zeroes out and dirties the page. This can
leave dirty page beyond EOF and if page writeback tries to write this page
before write succeeds and expands i_size, page gets into inconsistent
state where page dirty bit is clear but buffer dirty bits stay set
resulting in page data never getting written and so data copied to the
page is lost. Fix the problem by invalidating page beyond EOF after
failed write.

Remove struct posix_acl_{access,default}_handler for all filesystems that don't depend on the xattr handler in their inode->i_op->listxattr() method in any way. There's nothing more to do than to simply remove the handler. It's been effectively unused ever since we introduced the new posix acl api. ocfs2: fix non-auto defrag path not working issue
This fixes three issues on move extents ioctl without auto defrag: a) In ocfs2_find_victim_alloc_group(), we have to convert bits to block first in case of global bitmap. b) In ocfs2_probe_alloc_group(), when finding enough bits in block group bitmap, we have to back off move_len to start pos as well, otherwise it may corrupt filesystem. c) In ocfs2_ioctl_move_extents(), set me_threshold both for non-auto and auto defrag paths. Otherwise it will set move_max_hop to 0 and finally cause unexpectedly ENOSPC error. Currently there are no tools triggering the above issues since defragfs.ocfs2 enables auto defrag by default. Tested with manually changing defragfs.ocfs2 to run non auto defrag path. Networking changes for 6.3.
Core ---- - Add dedicated kmem_cache for typical/small skb->head, avoid having to access struct page at kfree time, and improve memory use. - Introduce sysctl to set default RPS configuration for new netdevs. - Define Netlink protocol specification format which can be used to describe messages used by each family and auto-generate parsers. Add tools for generating kernel data structures and uAPI headers. - Expose all net/core sysctls inside netns. - Remove 4s sleep in netpoll if carrier is instantly detected on boot. - Add configurable limit of MDB entries per port, and port-vlan. - Continue populating drop reasons throughout the stack. - Retire a handful of legacy Qdiscs and classifiers. Protocols --------- - Support IPv4 big TCP (TSO frames larger than 64kB). - Add IP_LOCAL_PORT_RANGE socket option, to control local port range on socket by socket basis. - Track and report in procfs number of MPTCP sockets used. - Support mixing IPv4 and IPv6 flows in the in-kernel MPTCP path manager. - IPv6: don't check net.ipv6.route.max_size and rely on garbage collection to free memory (similarly to IPv4). - Support Penultimate Segment Pop (PSP) flavor in SRv6 (RFC8986). - ICMP: add per-rate limit counters. - Add support for user scanning requests in ieee802154. - Remove static WEP support. - Support minimal Wi-Fi 7 Extremely High Throughput (EHT) rate reporting. - WiFi 7 EHT channel puncturing support (client & AP). BPF --- - Add a rbtree data structure following the "next-gen data structure" precedent set by recently added linked list, that is, by using kfunc + kptr instead of adding a new BPF map type. - Expose XDP hints via kfuncs with initial support for RX hash and timestamp metadata. - Add BPF_F_NO_TUNNEL_KEY extension to bpf_skb_set_tunnel_key to better support decap on GRE tunnel devices not operating in collect metadata. - Improve x86 JIT's codegen for PROBE_MEM runtime error checks. - Remove the need for trace_printk_lock for bpf_trace_printk and bpf_trace_vprintk helpers. - Extend libbpf's bpf_tracing.h support for tracing arguments of kprobes/uprobes and syscall as a special case. - Significantly reduce the search time for module symbols by livepatch and BPF. - Enable cpumasks to be used as kptrs, which is useful for tracing programs tracking which tasks end up running on which CPUs in different time intervals. - Add support for BPF trampoline on s390x and riscv64. - Add capability to export the XDP features supported by the NIC. - Add __bpf_kfunc tag for marking kernel functions as kfuncs. - Add cgroup.memory=nobpf kernel parameter option to disable BPF memory accounting for container environments. Netfilter --------- - Remove the CLUSTERIP target. It has been marked as obsolete for years, and we still have WARN splats wrt. races of the out-of-band /proc interface installed by this target. - Add 'destroy' commands to nf_tables. They are identical to the existing 'delete' commands, but do not return an error if the referenced object (set, chain, rule...) did not exist. Driver API ---------- - Improve cpumask_local_spread() locality to help NICs set the right IRQ affinity on AMD platforms. - Separate C22 and C45 MDIO bus transactions more clearly. - Introduce new DCB table to control DSCP rewrite on egress. - Support configuration of Physical Layer Collision Avoidance (PLCA) Reconciliation Sublayer (RS) (802.3cg-2019). Modern version of shared medium Ethernet. - Support for MAC Merge layer (IEEE 802.3-2018 clause 99). Allowing preemption of low priority frames by high priority frames. - Add support for controlling MACSec offload using netlink SET. - Rework devlink instance refcounts to allow registration and de-registration under the instance lock. Split the code into multiple files, drop some of the unnecessarily granular locks and factor out common parts of netlink operation handling. - Add TX frame aggregation parameters (for USB drivers). - Add a new attr TCA_EXT_WARN_MSG to report TC (offload) warning messages with notifications for debug. - Allow offloading of UDP NEW connections via act_ct. - Add support for per action HW stats in TC. - Support hardware miss to TC action (continue processing in SW from a specific point in the action chain). - Warn if old Wireless Extension user space interface is used with modern cfg80211/mac80211 drivers. Do not support Wireless Extensions for Wi-Fi 7 devices at all. Everyone should switch to using nl80211 interface instead. - Improve the CAN bit timing configuration. Use extack to return error messages directly to user space, update the SJW handling, including the definition of a new default value that will benefit CAN-FD controllers, by increasing their oscillator tolerance. New hardware / drivers ---------------------- - Ethernet: - nVidia BlueField-3 support (control traffic driver) - Ethernet support for imx93 SoCs - Motorcomm yt8531 gigabit Ethernet PHY - onsemi NCN26000 10BASE-T1S PHY (with support for PLCA) - Microchip LAN8841 PHY (incl. cable diagnostics and PTP) - Amlogic gxl MDIO mux - WiFi: - RealTek RTL8188EU (rtl8xxxu) - Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 devices (ath12k) - CAN: - Renesas R-Car V4H Drivers ------- - Bluetooth: - Set Per Platform Antenna Gain (PPAG) for Intel controllers. - Ethernet NICs: - Intel (1G, igc): - support TSN / Qbv / packet scheduling features of i226 model - Intel (100G, ice): - use GNSS subsystem instead of TTY - multi-buffer XDP support - extend support for GPIO pins to E823 devices - nVidia/Mellanox: - update the shared buffer configuration on PFC commands - implement PTP adjphase function for HW offset control - TC support for Geneve and GRE with VF tunnel offload - more efficient crypto key management method - multi-port eswitch support - Netronome/Corigine: - add DCB IEEE support - support IPsec offloading for NFP3800 - Freescale/NXP (enetc): - enetc: support XDP_REDIRECT for XDP non-linear buffers - enetc: improve reconfig, avoid link flap and waiting for idle - enetc: support MAC Merge layer - Other NICs: - sfc/ef100: add basic devlink support for ef100 - ionic: rx_push mode operation (writing descriptors via MMIO) - bnxt: use the auxiliary bus abstraction for RDMA - r8169: disable ASPM and reset bus in case of tx timeout - cpsw: support QSGMII mode for J721e CPSW9G - cpts: support pulse-per-second output - ngbe: add an mdio bus driver - usbnet: optimize usbnet_bh() by avoiding unnecessary queuing - r8152: handle devices with FW with NCM support - amd-xgbe: support 10Mbps, 2.5GbE speeds and rx-adaptation - virtio-net: support multi buffer XDP - virtio/vsock: replace virtio_vsock_pkt with sk_buff - tsnep: XDP support - Ethernet high-speed switches: - nVidia/Mellanox (mlxsw): - add support for latency TLV (in FW control messages) - Microchip (sparx5): - separate explicit and implicit traffic forwarding rules, make the implicit rules always active - add support for egress DSCP rewrite - IS0 VCAP support (Ingress Classification) - IS2 VCAP filters (protos, L3 addrs, L4 ports, flags, ToS etc.) - ES2 VCAP support (Egress Access Control) - support for Per-Stream Filtering and Policing (802.1Q, 8.6.5.1) - Ethernet embedded switches: - Marvell (mv88e6xxx): - add MAB (port auth) offload support - enable PTP receive for mv88e6390 - NXP (ocelot): - support MAC Merge layer - support for the the vsc7512 internal copper phys - Microchip: - lan9303: convert to PHYLINK - lan966x: support TC flower filter statistics - lan937x: PTP support for KSZ9563/KSZ8563 and LAN937x - lan937x: support Credit Based Shaper configuration - ksz9477: support Energy Efficient Ethernet - other: - qca8k: convert to regmap read/write API, use bulk operations - rswitch: Improve TX timestamp accuracy - Intel WiFi (iwlwifi): - EHT (Wi-Fi 7) rate reporting - STEP equalizer support: transfer some STEP (connection to radio on platforms with integrated wifi) related parameters from the BIOS to the firmware. - Qualcomm 802.11ax WiFi (ath11k): - IPQ5018 support - Fine Timing Measurement (FTM) responder role support - channel 177 support - MediaTek WiFi (mt76): - per-PHY LED support - mt7996: EHT (Wi-Fi 7) support - Wireless Ethernet Dispatch (WED) reset support - switch to using page pool allocator - RealTek WiFi (rtw89): - support new version of Bluetooth co-existance - Mobile: - rmnet: support TX aggregation. Protocols: - Support IPv4 big TCP (TSO frames larger than 64kB). - Add IP_LOCAL_PORT_RANGE socket option, to control local port range on socket by socket basis. - Track and report in procfs number of MPTCP sockets used. - Support mixing IPv4 and IPv6 flows in the in-kernel MPTCP path manager. - IPv6: don't check net.ipv6.route.max_size and rely on garbage collection to free memory (similarly to IPv4). - Support Penultimate Segment Pop (PSP) flavor in SRv6 (RFC8986). - ICMP: add per-rate limit counters. - Add support for user scanning requests in ieee802154. - Remove static WEP support. - Support minimal Wi-Fi 7 Extremely High Throughput (EHT) rate reporting. - WiFi 7 EHT channel puncturing support (client & AP). BPF: - Add a rbtree data structure following the "next-gen data structure" precedent set by recently added linked list, that is, by using kfunc + kptr instead of adding a new BPF map type. Netfilter: - Remove the CLUSTERIP target. It has been marked as obsolete for years, and we still have WARN splats wrt races of the out-of-band /proc interface installed by this target. - Add 'destroy' commands to nf_tables. They are identical to the existing 'delete' commands, but do not return an error if the referenced object (set, chain, rule...) did not exist. Driver API: - Improve cpumask_local_spread() locality to help NICs set the right IRQ affinity on AMD platforms. New hardware / drivers: - Ethernet: - nVidia BlueField-3 support (control traffic driver) - Ethernet support for imx93 SoCs - Motorcomm yt8531 gigabit Ethernet PHY - onsemi NCN26000 10BASE-T1S PHY (with support for PLCA) - Microchip LAN8841 PHY (incl. cable diagnostics and PTP) - Amlogic gxl MDIO mux - WiFi: - RealTek RTL8188EU (rtl8xxxu) - Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 devices (ath12k) - CAN: - Renesas R-Car V4H Drivers: - Bluetooth: - Set Per Platform Antenna Gain (PPAG) for Intel controllers. - Ethernet NICs: - Intel (1G, igc): - support TSN / Qbv / packet scheduling features of i226 model - Intel (100G, ice): - use GNSS subsystem instead of TTY - multi-buffer XDP support - extend support for GPIO pins to E823 devices - nVidia/Mellanox: - update the shared buffer configuration on PFC commands - implement PTP adjphase function for HW offset control - TC support for Geneve and GRE with VF tunnel offload - more efficient crypto key management method - multi-port eswitch support - Netronome/Corigine: - add DCB IEEE support - support IPsec offloading for NFP3800 - Freescale/NXP (enetc): - support XDP_REDIRECT for XDP non-linear buffers - improve reconfig, avoid link flap and waiting for idle - support MAC Merge layer - Other NICs: - sfc/ef100: add basic devlink support for ef100 - ionic: rx_push mode operation (writing descriptors via MMIO) - bnxt: use the auxiliary bus abstraction for RDMA - r8169: disable ASPM and reset bus in case of tx timeout - cpsw: support QSGMII mode for J721e CPSW9G - cpts: support pulse-per-second output - ngbe: add an mdio bus driver - usbnet: optimize usbnet_bh() by avoiding unnecessary queuing - r8152: handle devices with FW with NCM support - amd-xgbe: support 10Mbps, 2.5GbE speeds and rx-adaptation - virtio-net: support multi buffer XDP - virtio/vsock: replace virtio_vsock_pkt with sk_buff - tsnep: XDP support - Ethernet high-speed switches: - nVidia/Mellanox (mlxsw): - add support for latency TLV (in FW control messages) - Microchip (sparx5): - separate explicit and implicit traffic forwarding rules, make the implicit rules always active - add support for egress DSCP rewrite - IS0 VCAP support (Ingress Classification) - IS2 VCAP filters (protos, L3 addrs, L4 ports, flags, ToS etc.) - ES2 VCAP support (Egress Access Control) - support for Per-Stream Filtering and Policing (802.1Q, 8.6.5.1) - Ethernet embedded switches: - Marvell (mv88e6xxx): - add MAB (port auth) offload support - enable PTP receive for mv88e6390 - NXP (ocelot): - support MAC Merge layer - support for the the vsc7512 internal copper phys - Microchip: - lan9303: convert to PHYLINK - lan966x: support TC flower filter statistics - lan937x: PTP support for KSZ9563/KSZ8563 and LAN937x - lan937x: support Credit Based Shaper configuration - ksz9477: support Energy Efficient Ethernet - other: - qca8k: convert to regmap read/write API, use bulk operations - rswitch: Improve TX timestamp accuracy - Intel WiFi (iwlwifi): - EHT (Wi-Fi 7) rate reporting - STEP equalizer support: transfer some STEP (connection to radio on platforms with integrated wifi) related parameters from the BIOS to the firmware. - Qualcomm 802.11ax WiFi (ath11k): - IPQ5018 support - Fine Timing Measurement (FTM) responder role support - channel 177 support - MediaTek WiFi (mt76): - per-PHY LED support - mt7996: EHT (Wi-Fi 7) support - Wireless Ethernet Dispatch (WED) reset support - switch to using page pool allocator - RealTek WiFi (rtw89): - support new version of Bluetooth co-existance - Mobile: - rmnet: support TX aggregation" * tag 'net-next-6.3' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net-next: (1872 commits) page_pool: add a comment explaining the fragment counter usage net: ethtool: fix __ethtool_dev_mm_supported() implementation ethtool: pse-pd: Fix double word in comments xsk: add linux/vmalloc.h to xsk.c sefltests: netdevsim: wait for devlink instance after netns removal selftest: fib_tests: Always cleanup before exit net/mlx5e: Align IPsec ASO result memory to be as required by hardware net/mlx5e: TC, Set CT miss to the specific ct action instance net/mlx5e: Rename CHAIN_TO_REG to MAPPED_OBJ_TO_REG net/mlx5: Refactor tc miss handling to a single function net/mlx5: Kconfig: Make tc offload depend on tc skb extension net/sched: flower: Support hardware miss to tc action net/sched: flower: Move filter handle initialization earlier net/sched: cls_api: Support hardware miss to tc action net/sched: Rename user cookie and act cookie sfc: fix builds without CONFIG_RTC_LIB sfc: clean up some inconsistent indentings net/mlx4_en: Introduce flexible array to silence overflow warning net: lan966x: Fix possible deadlock inside PTP net/ulp: Remove redundant ->clone() test in inet_clone_ulp(). ... |

fs: build the legacy direct I/O code conditionally
Add a new LEGACY_DIRECT_IO config symbol that is only selected by the file systems that still use the legacy blockdev_direct_IO code, so that kernels without support for those file systems don't need to build the code.
