a61fec1c87 netdev_features: remove NETIF_F_ALL_FCOE
NETIF_F_ALL_FCOE is used only in vlan_dev.c, 2 times. Now that it's only
2 bits, open-code it and remove the definition from netdev_features.h.

782dbbf589 netdev_features: convert NETIF_F_FCOE_MTU to dev->fcoe_mtu
Ability to handle maximum FCoE frames of 2158 bytes can never be changed
and thus more of an attribute, not a toggleable feature.
Move it from netdev_features_t to "cold" priv flags (bitfield bool) and
free yet another feature bit.

00d066a4d4 netdev_features: convert NETIF_F_LLTX to dev->lltx
NETIF_F_LLTX can't be changed via Ethtool and is not a feature,
rather an attribute, very similar to IFF_NO_QUEUE (and hot).
Free one netdev_features_t bit and make it a "hot" private flag.

2111375b85 net: Add struct kernel_ethtool_ts_info
In prevision to add new UAPI for hwtstamp we will be limited to the struct
ethtool_ts_info that is currently passed in fixed binary format through the
ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO ethtool ioctl. It would be good if new kernel code
already started operating on an extensible kernel variant of that
structure, similar in concept to struct kernel_hwtstamp_config vs struct
hwtstamp_config.

Since struct ethtool_ts_info is in include/uapi/linux/ethtool.h, here
we introduce the kernel-only structure in include/linux/ethtool.h.
The manual copy is then made in the function called by ETHTOOL_GET_TS_INFO.

1eb2cded45 net: annotate writes on dev->mtu from ndo_change_mtu()
Simon reported that ndo_change_mtu() methods were never
updated to use WRITE_ONCE(dev->mtu, new_mtu) as hinted
in commit 501a90c945 ("inet: protect against too small
mtu values.")

We read dev->mtu without holding RTNL in many places,
with READ_ONCE() annotations.

It is time to take care of ndo_change_mtu() methods
to use corresponding WRITE_ONCE()

dacab578c7 vlan: fix a potential uninit-value in vlan_dev_hard_start_xmit()
syzbot triggered the following splat [1], sending an empty message
through pppoe_sendmsg().

When VLAN_FLAG_REORDER_HDR flag is set, vlan_dev_hard_header()
does not push extra bytes for the VLAN header, because vlan is offloaded.

Unfortunately vlan_dev_hard_start_xmit() first reads veth->h_vlan_proto
before testing (vlan->flags & VLAN_FLAG_REORDER_HDR).

We need to swap the two conditions.

d6ff94afd9 vlan: move dev_put into vlan_dev_uninit
Shuang Li reported an QinQ issue by simply doing:

  # ip link add dummy0 type dummy
  # ip link add link dummy0 name dummy0.1 type vlan id 1
  # ip link add link dummy0.1 name dummy0.1.2 type vlan id 2
  # rmmod 8021q

 unregister_netdevice: waiting for dummy0.1 to become free. Usage count = 1

When rmmods 8021q, all vlan devs are deleted from their real_dev's vlan grp
and added into list_kill by unregister_vlan_dev(). dummy0.1 is unregistered
before dummy0.1.2, as it's using for_each_netdev() in __rtnl_kill_links().

When unregisters dummy0.1, dummy0.1.2 is not unregistered in the event of
NETDEV_UNREGISTER, as it's been deleted from dummy0.1's vlan grp. However,
due to dummy0.1.2 still holding dummy0.1, dummy0.1 will keep waiting in
netdev_wait_allrefs(), while dummy0.1.2 will never get unregistered and
release dummy0.1, as it delays dev_put until calling dev->priv_destructor,
vlan_dev_free().

This issue was introduced by Commit 563bcbae3b ("net: vlan: fix a UAF in
vlan_dev_real_dev()"), and this patch is to fix it by moving dev_put() into
vlan_dev_uninit(), which is called after NETDEV_UNREGISTER event but before
netdev_wait_allrefs().

01d9cc2dea net: vlan: fix underflow for the real_dev refcnt
Inject error before dev_hold(real_dev) in register_vlan_dev(),
and execute the following testcase:

ip link add dev dummy1 type dummy
ip link add name dummy1.100 link dummy1 type vlan id 100

When the dummy netdevice is removed, we will get a WARNING as following:

and an endless loop of:

=======================================================================
unregister_netdevice: waiting for dummy1 to become free. Usage count = -1073741824

That is because dev_put(real_dev) in vlan_dev_free() be called without
dev_hold(real_dev) in register_vlan_dev(). It makes the refcnt of real_dev
underflow.

Move the dev_hold(real_dev) to vlan_dev_init() which is the call-back of
ndo_init(). That makes dev_hold() and dev_put() for vlan's real_dev
symmetrical.

the MII commands SIOCGMIIPHY/SIOCGMIIREG/SIOCSMIIREG, or hardware
timestamping with SIOCSHWTSTAMP/SIOCGHWTSTAMP.

Separate these from the few drivers that use ndo_do_ioctl to
implement SIOCBOND, SIOCBR and SIOCWANDEV commands.

This is a purely cosmetic change intended to help readers find
their way through the implementation.

be74294ffa net: get rid of lockdep_set_class_and_subclass()
lockdep_set_class_and_subclass() is meant to reduce
the _nested() annotations by assigning a default subclass.
For addr_list_lock, we have to compute the subclass at
run-time as the netdevice topology changes after creation.

So, we should just get rid of these
lockdep_set_class_and_subclass() and stick with our _nested()
annotations.

845e0ebb44 net: change addr_list_lock back to static key
The dynamic key update for addr_list_lock still causes troubles,
for example the following race condition still exists:

CPU 0:				CPU 1:
(RCU read lock)			(RTNL lock)
dev_mc_seq_show()		netdev_update_lockdep_key()
				  -> lockdep_unregister_key()
 -> netif_addr_lock_bh()

because lockdep doesn't provide an API to update it atomically.
Therefore, we have to move it back to static keys and use subclass
for nest locking like before.

In commit 1a33e10e4a ("net: partially revert dynamic lockdep key
changes"), I already reverted most parts of commit ab92d68fc2
("net: core: add generic lockdep keys").

This patch reverts the rest and also part of commit f3b0a18bb6
("net: remove unnecessary variables and callback"). After this
patch, addr_list_lock changes back to using static keys and
subclasses to satisfy lockdep. Thanks to dev->lower_level, we do
not have to change back to ->ndo_get_lock_subclass().

And hopefully this reduces some syzbot lockdep noises too.

f3b0a18bb6 net: remove unnecessary variables and callback
This patch removes variables and callback these are related to the nested
device structure.
devices that can be nested have their own nest_level variable that
represents the depth of nested devices.
In the previous patch, new {lower/upper}_level variables are added and
they replace old private nest_level variable.
So, this patch removes all 'nest_level' variables.

In order to avoid lockdep warning, ->ndo_get_lock_subclass() was added
to get lockdep subclass value, which is actually lower nested depth value.
But now, they use the dynamic lockdep key to avoid lockdep warning instead
of the subclass.
So, this patch removes ->ndo_get_lock_subclass() callback.

ab92d68fc2 net: core: add generic lockdep keys
Some interface types could be nested.
(VLAN, BONDING, TEAM, MACSEC, MACVLAN, IPVLAN, VIRT_WIFI, VXLAN, etc..)
These interface types should set lockdep class because, without lockdep
class key, lockdep always warn about unexisting circular locking.

In the current code, these interfaces have their own lockdep class keys and
these manage itself. So that there are so many duplicate code around the
/driver/net and /net/.
This patch adds new generic lockdep keys and some helper functions for it.

This patch does below changes.
a) Add lockdep class keys in struct net_device
   - qdisc_running, xmit, addr_list, qdisc_busylock
   - these keys are used as dynamic lockdep key.
b) When net_device is being allocated, lockdep keys are registered.
   - alloc_netdev_mqs()
c) When net_device is being free'd llockdep keys are unregistered.
   - free_netdev()
d) Add generic lockdep key helper function
   - netdev_register_lockdep_key()
   - netdev_unregister_lockdep_key()
   - netdev_update_lockdep_key()
e) Remove unnecessary generic lockdep macro and functions
f) Remove unnecessary lockdep code of each interfaces.

After this patch, each interface modules don't need to maintain
their lockdep keys.

8c8b3458d0 vlan: support binding link state to vlan member bridge ports
In the case of vlan filtering on bridges, the bridge may also have the
corresponding vlan devices as upper devices. Currently the link state
of vlan devices is transferred from the lower device. So this is up if
the bridge is in admin up state and there is at least one bridge port
that is up, regardless of the vlan that the port is a member of.

The link state of the vlan device may need to track only the state of
the subset of ports that are also members of the corresponding vlan,
rather than that of all ports.

Add a flag to specify a vlan bridge binding mode, by which the link
state is no longer automatically transferred from the lower device,
but is instead determined by the bridge ports that are members of the
vlan.
